You are obviously a thief, looking for someone to scam! ![]() |
I tire for this Anambra saga and show of shame! ![]() |
I thought Alex Ekweme was supposed to be preparing his resting (burial) place. What is he looking for again?. Is it that, the whole of Anambra cannot forward a credible and young leader? Why forward again, a living corpse?. |
I just wonder why someone will God given ability will sit down and be manufacturing evil thought. Whoever prays for Nigeria to separate, will have his family separated until Jesus Christ comes again. Infact, the separation will run in his lineage. America that he quotes, are they truly united? The Biafra that he believes, are they even united at the ward level, talkless of states. Stop decieving people will the greatest fallacy of our time. |
This is the greatest problem the igbos have. The inability to choose one leader, and rally round thesame person. Until this attitude of them always fumbling in choosing a person to run for a political post is stopped, they will always lose at the national level. What does Ekweme have to offer again. I pity that school of thought. They are the problem of this country. As for Soludo, he will start celebrating, because it is assumed that, whoever win PDP primaries, wins an election. |
Anambra 2010: Soludo Emerges PDP Candidate By Austin Oboh (Lagos) and Rotimi Akinwumi (Abuja) Fears that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not be able to field its candidate for the Anambra 2010 Governorship Election ended on Friday as former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, became the party's choice. Soludo emerged favourite at the meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC), which moved from its original venue to the party secretariat later in the day, and was at the time of going to press being presented to President Umaru Yar'Adua for endorsement. Sources disclosed to Saturday Independent that the NWC could not agree on a consensus candidate thus paving the way for Soludo who, in the calculations of the party leaders, stood the best chance of upsetting the strong positions of former governor Chris Ngige, Action Congress (AC) candidate at the poll, and Peter Obi, incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Saturday Independent sources further revealed that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sent three or four representatives though the PDP had not invited the electoral body. INEC had invoked Section 85 (2) of the Electoral Act, which grants the electoral body the power to send representatives to political meetings. PDP ran into a stalemate after ward congress to elect delegates to the primaries was reportedly botched by violence and other electoral malpractices. Aspirants had been disenchanted by the poor organisation of the ward congress and a member of the party in the state, Probity Adibe, had gone to court to effect a court injunction, which barred the party from going ahead with the primaries on the grounds that the ward congress had been circumvented. There were other court injunctions and while the PDP waited to vacate them, deadline for the submission of party candidates got closer, giving rise to fears that the party may not field a candidate for the crucial governorship election, which many observers say would provide a window into 2011. Meanwhile, the lingering crisis rocking the APGA may have finally been resolved. This is sequel to the acceptance on Friday of Governor Obi by INEC as the consensus governorship candidate of the party for the election scheduled to hold on February 6, 2010. APGA has been embroiled in a leadership crisis with the party divided down the middle. While one of the factions led by the former chairman of the party, Chekwas Okorie, is recognised by the INEC, Obi identifies himself with the second faction led by Victor Umeh. The commission handed over the original copies of Forms CF001 and CF002B meant for the nomination of candidates for the 2010 Governorship election to Okorie, a move some interpreted as an attempt to exclude Obi from the race. However, the Umeh-led faction held its congress on Wednesday at the Ekwueme Square in Awka after securing a court injunction, which stopped Okorie, who had also slated the congress of his faction the same day. Obi was elected unanimously, garnering all the 1,115 valid votes cast in the primaries, and was handed the party's flag by APGA National Leader, Odumegwu Ojukwu. But there were fears that INEC may not recognise him as the party's candidate because his emergence was said to have breached the 2006 Electoral Act. But in a surprise move last night, INEC recognised the embattled governor as the consensus candidate of the party, thereby laying the building blocks for a lasting peace in the party. However, a source, who pleaded anonymity on Friday said the recognition should not come to discerning observers of APGA's internal politics as a surprise. "What many people did not know is the fact that in spite of all the insults heaped on the INEC Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, by certain elements in APGA, the man has never been interested in denying APGA a ticket to contest the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State. What he has insisted on all these years is that the two factions should reconcile. "When it became apparent that they were not going to heed his advice, he told them to de-link Obi's second term ambition from the leadership crisis, so that while the combatants were slugging it out, whoever wins will not affect Obi's chances. But they did not listen to him. Instead, they were busy maligning him and peddling all manner of lies." Our source also said Iwu was so concerned that he sent the INEC Commissioner in-charge of legal matters to Anambra State to resolve the matter. "Iwu dispatched the INEC Commissioner in-charge of legal matters, Victor Chukwuani, to Anambra early this year with the message that Obi's candidacy should be removed from the crisis. But the factions were intransigent." Action Congress (AC) on Friday said that it adopted Chris Ngige as the party flag bearer in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra because it needed a candidate that can rid the state of the mess created therein by PDP. The Labour Party (LP) also on Friday disclosed that arrangements are in top gear among opposition party with the aim of presenting a consensus candidate among themselves to fight the PDP. Presenting Ngige to the public at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja, Bisi Akande, AC National chairman said that the party would win the election and "sweep all the bad deeds of the Peoples Democratic Party away." He rapped the PDP just as the LP denied any alliance between it and Obi. The LP in denying any involvement with Obi and declared that its candidate, Okechukwu Areh in Abuja, is not holding the ticket in trust for Obi as being speculated adding that the party has not been approached by Obi for proxy candidature for the Anambra polls. http://www.independentngonline.com/news/tfpg/article02 |
Alas!, Soludo is to become the next governor of Anambra!. PDP will do all within its power to scuffle the other political parties, and later rig election for Soludo to become Governor! . |
Some how, I feel these politicians are the ones that are making this kidnapping increase. Why would they pay them millions of Naira, only to come and deny. This is cheap blackmail. |
