Politics / Nigeria!! We Have To Beat This Together by senior123: 10:17pm On Mar 29, 2016
I know there are so many woes in our land today. Starting with the 16years of Mafia Gang (PDP) rule, Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, IOPB, devaluation of Naira, strengthing weak security forces, building infrastructure for the country; all these are too much for only one man to handle.

First, the 16 years of MAFIA GANG (PDP) rule has affected us all. There is nothing we can do about it but learn to vote wisely next time.

2) Boko Haram was or is a treat to us all. We cannot tag them as muslims or brush every muslim as boko haram. In other words, do not use your ideas of boko haram to judge Nigerian muslims. I have lived in Nigeria for 25 years, 10 of which i spent in Yola and now in Abuja and I happen to be from Benue state and a devout catholic. [So am not supporting Islam]. I have lived with muslims all my life.
Muslims have never been terrorists. We should all recognise the fact that, all these are just external forces attempting to destabilise govt or exploit countries.
They have successfully done this in countries like Libya, Mali and other african countries. We can be the difference by resisting and fighting against the mercenaries without inciting religious troubles cause that is the excuse the enemy would like to use but it will fail.
Whether or not this enemy is Buhari, PDP, or US, it dosen't matter. Let's make them fail.

3) Same goes for the fulani herdsmen. Anyone who tries to attack people should be fought but do not treat all fulani herdsmen with that hate.

4) IPOB, I am sorry but i really do not see the sense in leaving Nigeria. Where are you going. I completely understand what you are asking for but the idea would have worked perfectly if the first biafra war was won. In today's democracy, the igbos have become an important part of the economy I think asking to leave is quite selfish. No one is happy with the way the PDP ran the country. Even the APC, we are still waiting for results. It is affecting us all. How would you deal the fact that,
a) Some igbos [many of them actually, including all the women in my mom's CWO] do not want biafra;
b) how would you address igbo people who have built business and established families here? Do you believe it is fair to them?

Some states are working on acting as a state within a state. So all states with their own resources, legal rules and jurisdiction within, tied by a common constitution. I think this is practical rather than stirring up trouble everywhere.

5)The devaluation of the naira is just western pressure to suit themselves. Yes it does not make a difference in purchasing power, but devaluing the naira would only be useful to Nigerians if we did not import anything into Nigeria. If we import [Of which we import everything], then we would be extremely poor. It means those who do forex trading will start earning more and we would need more nairas to purchase less US goods while US would need less dollars to purchase Nigerian goods.
So if the naira is devalued, and we finally begin to export, it would be meaningless because our goods would be extremely cheap in naira value.
We cannot devalue the naira. We can beat this. It will stop. Please support this.
Lastly if the US is against it, then it is actually a good thing.

Let everyone, get angry, and then come back to their senses quickly. Igbo boys stop fighting for biafra, there is no biafra, oil prices have dropped and is not predicted to rice anytime soon. This is a time almost every nation on earth went through, political instability, economic unrest, tribal/religious divides. It is really not new. But if we are smart enough to go through this we would all be happy with the new Nigeria we re-build from the ashes of this one. Regardless of your tribe or religion, you must support the efforts of your president. It is your civic duty as a Nigerian.

To every Nigerian,
A simple Benue Girl
