Vanguard means "a group of people leading the way in new developments or ideas".

Bosses in the house, how much do you think the value of this domain could be worth.

I'm quite surprised the domain name was available in KING though.

Webmasters / Web Design SEO: How To Design Website With SEO In Mind by Seofingers(m): 9:51pm On Aug 28, 2018
To launch your web design portfolio the right way, you need to design your website in line using this recommended web design SEO plan. Find out how to set-up your website appropriately for SEO.

Basically, a regular website designer is expected to have some basic skills in HTML coding and CSS programming.

Sadly, most web design experts possess little or no SEO knowledge which is needed to deliver a good website that offers SEO value moving forward.

Hence, this post is written to unravel SEO features that must be integrated into every web design project to get the website function in line with important search engine algorithms.

Let’s have a ride!

What is Web Design SEO?

Basically, web design search engine optimization can be described as a website development process which ensures that a website is search engine friendly.

To design a website for SEO, you need to understand SEO techniques like On-page optimization and Off-page optimization.

Why is SEO important in Web Development?

The purpose of designing a website is to provide a virtual platform where prospective customers can engage with your business in a seamless way.

Therefore, to ensure that web users engage with your niche website seamlessly, you need to ensure that your website is designed with SEO in mind.

Quickly, let’s unravel why SEO is very important to the success of your web design project.

#1. User Friendliness
#2. Google Algorithms
#3. Lead Generation
#4. Site Authority.
#5. Brand Awareness.
#6. Crawlability and Indexation.
#7. Keyword Targeting

USER-FRIENDLINESS

Seriously, how do you react to a snail-paced website?

Ideally, internet users are impatient when it comes to waiting for a web page to load in response to their query or keyword search.

In fact, if a website page fails to load in 3 seconds, then there is a high probability that users will bounce out of such a website without minding how attractive its aesthetics or contents are.

The implication of a website having a high bounce-rate is that the search engine interprets such web behaviour as one triggered by low-quality contents or poor user experience.

GOOGLE ALGORITHMS

Google Algorithms has evolved over time.

From Google Panda to Penguin, Google Hummingbird to RankBrain algorithm changes, each of these search engine algorithms highlighted the importance of SEO for websites.

Hence, to avoid getting your website fizzled out of the search results, there is the need for your web design process to align with these algorithms.

Avoid a website design that falls short of a good UX and poor on/off-page optimization procedures which is an important ranking factor highlighted in the RankBrain algorithm of 2015.

LEAD GENERATION.

Obviously, I believe that one of the major reasons behind your decision to launch a website is to generate leads for your brand or business.

Usually, it is expected that a website which records high conversion rate tends to have a solid formation of on-page optimization.

Therefore, you need to ensure that the website is appropriately optimized for the search engine so that high converting organic traffic can be driven to your website as you build page authority.

SITE AUTHORITY.

Even though it takes a lot of consistent effort for a new website to gain domain authority, nevertheless, it is important for you to kick-start such effort from the scratch of designing your website.

Starting from the choice of your domain name and web hosting packages, you’ve got to understand that a poor web navigation could jeopardize link-building efforts which is a critical tool in gaining site authority.

So, there is no gainsaying that your new website must have a clear navigation system that supports great UX and cross-linking.

BRAND AWARENESS.

Trust me, you’ve got to give a voice to your Website!

Hence, it is important for you to optimize your website in a way that makes it easily get found on the search engine through Local SEO and International SEO strategy.

Alongside, you cannot weave the need for you to curate optimized contents both for text searches and voice search for each page on your website like the ‘About Us’ session and other sales pages or product pages.

CRAWLABILITY AND INDEXATION.

Getting the search engine robots to easily crawl and index your site is a function of how you have appropriately set-up its link structure for easy crawling.
Usually, the permalink structure must be optimized to get search engine bots to easily understand what a page focuses on in relation to other distinct pages across your website.

Designing a website without a clear XML sitemap will keep your site below the pile on the search results because the crawlers will not be able to properly understand what existing and new pages on your site are all about.

#7. KEYWORD TARGETING

You’ve got to understand that designing a website without proper optimization using keywords related to your niche or industry will greatly cloud the visibility of such website.

Therefore, if you are serious about getting your found quickly on the SERPs when a user sends a query to the search engine, you’ve got to target keywords.

Depending on your keyword strategy-whether long-tail or short-tail, you need to engage in keyword research using tools like Google Autosuggest or Keywords everywhere to gain insight into the volume, competition and CPC values of these keywords which should then be optimized appropriately.

Having identified the need for you to integrate SEO into your web design and development process, let’s now look at how to implement SEO best practices during website design.

HOW TO DESIGN A WEBSITE FOR SEO

As stated earlier, designing a website appropriately for the search engine is very crucial to getting your site easily crawled or indexed.

However, much more than this assertion, an SEO-friendly website ultimately guarantees a website visibility status on the result pages.

Therefore, to get the full juice out of your web design work, you need to work in line with search engine rules.

Here are the details about how you should integrate SEO into your web design plan.

#1. Domain Name Optimization

Undoubtedly, choosing the right domain name for a new website is usually the first call in designing a website.

However, you need to understand how to craft a domain name that suits your online marketing strategy.

This very important aspect of website optimization often gets ignored by most people due to ignorance.

In fact, there are instances whereby a registered domain name tends to be too long or inconsistent with what you’ll find taking a visit to such a website.

For example; you must have seen domain names such as www.abcdefghijklmnopqwxyz.com.

Registering a long-worded domains name could affect the search engine robots to easily categorize what your website is all about.

Mind you, you can decide to use your name to build a personal brand on the search engine.

But for a corporate entity or a niche blogger, you need to include a phrase that relates to what your business is all about before registering it with a web host.

You need to also ensure that all subdomains created under your primary domain redirect to a single canonical version of the main site.

Lastly, endeavor to install SSL certificate which will ensure your new website has an https domain.

Having your domain like this https://example.com is key to getting your website certified for safe online transactions.

#2. Web Hosting Integration

To avert high bounce-rate on your about to be launched website, you need to install a good web hosting package that will ensure a seamless user-experience on your website.

A fast loading site is expected to increase the Click-through-rates [CTR] value of your pages on the search results.

Therefore, you need to secure for your website with a reliable hosting service.

For large-scale businesses with the possibility of recording a high traffic turnover, it is appropriate to consider integrating a web host that has a CDN feature.

CDN is an acronym which means content delivery network or content distribution network (CDN).

It ensures that proxy servers are geographically distributed network through designated data centers.

The goal of CDNs is to deliver web contents spatially with a high degree of availability and high performance.

Hence, CDN feature on your website ensures that your website response time is even for all visitors irrespective of their geographical location.

WP-Engine is a classic example of a web hosting service provider with a super-fast response time.

In addition to buying a very good package for your web hosting, choosing a content management system (CMS) is also a key ingredient in building a successful website for SEO especially if you are just starting out as a newbie.

WordPress hosts over 25% of web contents which shows you its got pedigree of having the necessary features that easily resonate with the search engine.

Installing WordPress is super easy and offers free plugins which you could make use of in embedding additional features to a website.

#3. Install a Mobile-Friendly Theme.

In recent years, Google has emphasized on websites getting easily responsive for mobile phone users due to the increasing dominance of Android mobile phones and tablet devices.

Before now, the majority of search queries used to be initiated from a desktop PC, but the present mobile phone dominance has seen mobile searches take the center stage.

Therefore, to align your website with this reality, you need to ensure that your website is flexible to respond to the uniqueness of all search devices.

This is done by installing a responsive theme into your WordPress which you could get at the range of $30-$60 from Envato market.

Well, I know you are operating on a tight budget, but this is needful if you want to attract and retain millennials who mostly launch search queries from Android and Apple mobile devices.

#4. Clear Site Navigation.

A site navigation can be likened to sign-posts or signals which gives direction to a new visitor.

Against popular views that a web navigation is just about the menu section situated at the top of your web landing page, a site navigation definitely harbors more information.

You can choose to have a global, local, supplemental, hierarchical or contextual navigation schemes for your website depending on the size of your business and online marketing strategy.

The hierarchical site navigation type is the most popular method often used by web designers as it easily guides a user within the site through the drop-down menu.

The global navigation of a website is another segment of web navigation which serves as the outline and template to achieve an easy maneuver for the users accessing your site, while local navigation is often used to guide users across a specific section of the site.

Therefore, it is important you define a clear site navigation route for new visitors checking out on your website.

#5. XML Sitemaps.

Sitemaps is an XML file that lists all the URLs on a website. It is essential for SEO because it informs the search engines about URLs on a website that are available for crawling.

It allows webmasters to include additional information about each URL: when it was last updated, how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other URLs in the site. This allows search engines to crawl the site more intelligently.

Sitemaps are a URL inclusion protocol and complement robots.txt which is a URL exclusion protocol.

Hence, it is only appropriate that you integrate sitemaps appropriately for all pages which you want the crawling robot to capture for indexing.

#6. On-Page Optimization.

A website which is deficient in targeting keywords related to your business goals will most likely never get found by anybody on the result pages.

Therefore, you need to optimize each page on your web navigation using targeted keywords.

You might be curious to know how to discover the keywords which people search for in relation to what your business majors on.

Assuredly, there is no big work to be done in getting information relevant keywords which would help your web pages get easily found by internet users.

All you need do is to perform a keyword research using free keyword tools like the Google AdWords Planner.

On a final note…

You might find yourself stalked at some point in this web design article. Never mind!

The idea is to get you in the know about the critical ingredients that will make your website align with basic SEO elements.

If you’ve got no skills using CSS bootstrap or HMTL coding to design your website the SEO way, you can hire a freelance website designer who understands SEO.

This will ensure that your website has a solid foundation to make it thrive on the search engine results pages.

It's simple, no need to disagree. Check the DA score of those website or blogs occupying 1st - 3rd position on Google for single keywords. That would reply you.

Let's get the latter straight before I leave your thread, paying someone to generate backlinks for you is blackhat and spamming.

Paying someone to give you backlink from specific websites or blog is pure whitehat. That's the difference

A blog getting a link from Harvard is blackhat?

I understand both blackhat and whitehat SEO in full. Speak from the position of knowledge.

Black-hat SEO is different. But paying to get links has the nature of Black Hat SEO techniques.

You just have to balance your approach to building backlinks.

In another light, you mentioned in one of your comments that neglecting to build links will deny your website from getting properly ranked by the search engine.

I beg to disagree oo, not every publisher highly ranked paid to build links.

You need to inform people right!

SEONaijaExpert:
The only niche blogging we know in Nigeria is entertainment.

And that's why many blogs won't survive next year because it's all for the money.

Many bloggers paste their links on every site not knowing that NOT all links are healthy for search engine ranking

Infact let me surprise you, pasting your link more than once on Nairaland is very harmful to your blog/site. Just once is already recognized by search engines because Nairaland is a dofollow backlink juice. Hence, too much of juice is bad!

SEO is deep, many Nigerian bloggers don't care to learn it, what there are after is posting links everywhere for traffic and also thinking that's link building.

I'm making an offer to any blogger that wants to increase his/her blog DA (domain authority). If you don't know what DA means, it makes search engine sees you as an authority in your niche thereby increase your ranking position.

If you want to get strong and juicy backlink from blog/site with DA 60 - DA 95, contact me it's for a token. That's my giveaway today.

Your blog or website will be getting a unique backlink from 1 DA 65 site and 4 DA 90 and above. It's a token giveaway for 10 bloggers.

How would you feel getting backlinks from CNN, BBC, HARVARD etc. No joke here! You will get screenshot after job is done. Hurry up and PM me.

If you are a serious publisher in whatever niche you choose, make sure your contents are informative and helpful. This makes it easily linkable! So, it's not only by pitching to build DA/PA before you can improve your site rank.

Brian Dean is an example of this assertion.
Webmasters / Does Niche Blogging Has Anything To Do With Seo? by Seofingers(m): 10:06pm On Aug 23, 2018
Before building your website or registering a domain name for your online business, a fundamental aspect of starting your blog the right way is to carefully choose a niche.

The reason for this assertion is not far-fetched because niche blogging has a lot to do with how much success you will have in the blogosphere as a new entrant.

Not to scare you, blogging requires you to be steadfast but much more than being steadfast, you need to have the right strategy that works.

Hence, mapping out the right blogging strategies will ensure that you run a profitable blog rather than expending so much energy without any remarkable ROI.

Without getting it twisted, one of the strategies you need to sort out is brainstorming on how you will drive massive traffic to your blog because that is the lifeblood of blogging.

Another strategy you need to reason out from the word ‘GO’ is how you will monetize your new blog whether through Google AdSense, Affiliate marketing, Sponsored posts, E-products or courses.

However, this post will only touch on how your decision to engage in niche blogging will affect your visibility on the search engine which is an important factor or strategy in running a successful online business.

Before getting started, let’s look at the term ‘Niche Blogging’.

WHAT IS NICHE BLOGGING?

Niche blogging is the process of choosing a blog that focuses on a specific market or business line rather than combining different markets in one blog.

Blogs that focus on a specific market are referred to as niche blogs or ‘niche websites’.

The concept of niche blogging stemmed from the traditional marketing concept of niche marketing which represents a subset of the market on which a specific product is focused.

Hence, just as in niche marketing, the major aim of niche blogging is to provide online products or contents that satisfy the different demographics of a target group like; taste, need, interests, price, and status of a small market segment.

20 EXAMPLES OF PROFITABLE NICHE BLOGS?

Perhaps you might be on the verge of starting a blog in 2018 and ruminating on which market or niche you should provide contents about, here are lists of profitable niches you can consider.

1. Technology
2. Health.
3. Fitness & Nutrition.
4. Dating & Romance.
5. Finance & Budgeting.
6. Online Marketing.
7. Pets & Livestock.
8. Sports.
9. Entertainment.
10. Interior Designs.
11. Architecture.
12. Education.
13. Language.
14. Politics.
15. Food.
16. Automobiles.
17. Religion.
18. Plants.
19. Motivational.
20. Agriculture.
21. Arts & Craft.

Mind you, it is important to state that some of these 20 blog niche ideas could also be broken down into sub-niches.

For instance, entertainment blog niche could be sub-divided into Music and Drama while education niche is equally broad even though it’s a market too.

Hence, I usually advocate aspiring bloggers to choose micro-blogging niche which represents a subset of the ‘broad niche’.

For example; for digital marketing segment, you can specialize in content creation or search engine optimization [SEO].

You can as well combine two-three micro-niches if you rightfully possess the basic knowledge to properly manage them altogether.

HOW TO CHOOSE A PROFITABLE BLOG NICHE.

In your quest to find a niche, you might be curious to know the benchmark or pointers that influence how much money you can make in niche blogging or how profitable is niche blogging?

Before reeling out my thoughts on how you can choose a profitable niche before launching your blog, I have keenly followed popular views that advocate that niche blogging isn’t profitable.

I beg to disagree with the premise on which this argument is often based as I reveal the reasons behind my disagreement.

The premise is based on the argument that if you create a niche blog, it limits your reach or blog traffic.

Frankly, as reasonable as this premise sounds, it doesn’t really play out that way in practice.

The reality is that if you’ve got the right content for your niche, you will have new visitors checking out your niche website every day without a doubt.

And as you grow your blog through content marketing, you will realize that jack of all niches, is a master of none.

Now, let us see how you can choose a profitable blog.

• Use Social Signals.
• Google Trends.
• Check for the CPC of niche related topics.
• Ask Google.

Without further ado, I will provide deeper insights on how these points can guide you towards choosing an appropriate blogging niche.

#1. SOCIAL MEDIA SIGNALS

Obviously, social media signals are veritable tools you can use in choosing a profitable niche.

To get a comprehensive metrics about how much likes, shares, comments or other engagement signals which a topic or area of interest has garnered overtime on major social media platforms like; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest (a visual search engine) and Reddit, you can use Buzzsumo content research free tool.

Just enter any niche of your choice into the space provided on the landing page and you will be able to view the total engagement signals of each webpage which has featured topics related to technology.

Observe the variations in each of the social media engagement signals for every niche you choose to analyze as shown on the Buzzsumo content analyzer page.

You will observe that some niches with a high score of social media engagements while some attract a lower score of social media engagements.

This is a pointer that shows that more people are interested in some popular niches like technology and food while others engage less with other unpopular niches like plants and architecture.

Mind you, the popularity of a niche or the level of social media engagement it attracts does not sufficiently make it profitable as you will discover subsequently.

#2. GOOGLE TRENDS.

Google trends also qualify as a free tool you can use to uncover popular and trendy niches.

This tool shows how often a query or term is being searched by internet users through the search engine.

The Google trends metrics are analyzed according to countries, regions, cities, and language.

It also shows the number of searches within a specified time-frame like; monthly or yearly basis.

The goal is for you to be able to gain insight into internet users’ interests over a period of time based on their geographical location.

For example, there are some niches that get more profitable during the yuletide, summer or winter seasons.

Others become more profitable during a global event like a major election like the US elections, sporting tournaments like the FIFA World Cup.

Hence, it is essential that you carefully choose a niche that has increased the tendency of making money most times of the year based on the trend people search or engage with them yearly.

#3. COST-PER-CLICK

For new bloggers intending to use Google AdSense, one of the important ways you can increase your Google AdSense earnings is to choose a blogging niche with high CPC.

Cost-per-clicks being the amount an advertiser agrees to pay a publisher for each valid click on a placed Advert displayed on your website.
To get CPC metrics, you can simply use Google Ad Planner tool.

Follow the following steps;

1. Sign-up using your Gmail account.
2. Provide your details.
3. Choose ‘Tools’ option.
4. Click on keyword planner from the drop-menu options.

In the image above, you will discover that topics related to online marketing attract very high CPC as shown in the prevailing CPC metrics.

You can equally see the volume of searches and competition for the keywords related to online marketing niches.

For instance, if you follow through using keywords related to football you will find out that the CPC rate is low as shown below.

This case-study further affirms the validity of what I said earlier that the popularity of a niche does not necessarily make it a profitable niche.

Comparing the volume of searches for football-related searches and online marketing, you will realize that keywords associated with a football niche have more search volume than that of online marketing.

However, it is obvious that the CPC bids for keywords related to online marketing are far higher than that of football.

Therefore, don’t just choose a blog niche based on sentiments, it is important you consider the profitability of such a niche, except if you aren’t particular about monetizing your blog.

#4. ASK GOOGLE

To further gain more information about profitable blogging niches, you can easily ask Google.

There are tons of helpful contents that offer more insights into choosing a blogging niche.

You can check out for high-earning bloggers who have profitably built niche websites.

Don’t be shy or afraid to send a message to them through their contact page if you think there’s a need for you to reach out to them in person for further guidance.

You can also take e-courses on how to start a profitable blogging niche if you can afford it.

Once you choose your blog niche, you need to strategies on how you can increase your niche blog visibility on the search engine using SEO and other blog traffic sources.

Now, let’s look at how niche blogging affects SEO.

#1. URL OR DOMAIN OPTIMIZATION.

Unless you choose to register your blog domain using your name or initials, it is advisable that you optimize your blog URL.

The reason is that domain name optimization enables the search engine to quickly understand the niche your blog focuses on.

Without a doubt, registering a site that focuses on health with a domain name like; HealthyLife (dot) com will easily resonate with search engine robots compared to same niche site that uses a generic phrase like life (dot) com.

#2. ON-PAGE OPTIMIZATION.

For your niche website to meet SEO best practices, each of the integrated pages should be related to a search term or keyword.

Hence, starting a niche site will ensure that your web pages are in sync with search phrases connected to that niche.

For example, if your niche is digital marketing, you should have web pages that get search engine robots to easily understand what each page represents.

These pages could include, SEO, PPC, Web Design, Content Creation and Social Media Ads.

You will agree with me that having optimized pages for each category under digital marketing as expressed above will easily get interpreted by the search engine as compared to a website that focuses on a generic term with different generic pages.

#3. EASE OF LINK-BUILDING.

Link-building is an on-page SEO technique which you need to improve user experience.

With niche blogging, internal linking becomes seamless and effective because each page is related to another.

According to Google’s SEO best practices, a publisher using anchor links on a page must ensure that the linked page has a contextual relation.

Therefore, a generic website without a niche could fall victim of linking unrelated pages to each other which could see a Google penalty being issued to such publisher.

Final Note.

Much more than starting a niche blog, you need to understand that running a successful blog or online business requires you to be dedicated and informed.

The blogosphere is dynamic and fast-evolving so if you are a lazy blogger, in no time you will fizzle out of the fold.

You’ve got to learn, un-learn and re-learn in the blogosphere to increase your chances of staying successful because just as the popular saying goes;

‘’Being successful is not the challenge but maintaining success is the greatest challenge.’’

Therefore, if you are a newbie or aspiring blogger you must be patient and steadfast to stand a chance of becoming successful in the blogosphere.

Webmasters / How To Find LSI Keywords For SEO. by Seofingers(m): 1:45pm On Aug 21, 2018
LSI keyword is an acronym used for Latent Semantic Indexing using the search engine or SEO parlance.

In this detailed article, you will discover the meaning of LSI or semantic keywords, why you need to scout for LSI keywords for your SEO copywriting, how to generate LSI keywords that rank and the importance of latent semantic indexing in search engine optimization.

On n’y va!

What are LSI keywords?

Latent Semantic Indexing in SEO parlance are semantically related keywords, phrases, words, terms, and concepts.

LSI keywords are often used to build high keyword density during SEO copywriting to help search engine crawlers get a fast understanding of the contents of a webpage and rightly positions it to gain suitable rankings on the SERPs.

Hence, as a Google publisher or webmaster, you need to understand how you can generate these semantic keywords to help you maximize your SEO strategy.

How Important are LSI keywords in SEO?

The LSI keywords gained importance in SEO due to the changes in Google algorithm updates.

Prior to Google Panda algorithm updates of 2011 and the Hummingbird updates of 2013, common SEO practices often see many publishers stuff keywords across their content pages in a bid to get ranked on the search engine.

The new Google Panda algorithm penalized keyword stuffing practice as the algorithm change clamped down on websites termed as "content farms" in a bid to return high-quality sites to the top of the search results.

Also, the Hummingbird algorithm update emphasized on getting web pages that integrate semantics or natural language queries across their copy rather than individual keywords.

These two important algorithm updates became SEO game-changer that establish the dominance of LSI keywords for Google publishers, bloggers and webmasters and saw the introduction of LSI keywords generator tool.

1. Keywords Everywhere.

2. AskthePublic.

3. Google’s Autosuggest.

4. LSI keyword generator tool or the LSI graph.

You can as well separate your query using * followed by an alphabet A-Z to obtain relevant semantics that further provide insights into your query or main keyword.

Look out for the blue-coloured phrases that accompany your search term, attempt to gather as many of them but ensure that they have a semantic connection with the main keyword.

How to use LSI Graph to obtain LSI Keywords for your Content.

The LSI graph is a free tool used for generating long-tail semantics and LSI keywords. It is very helpful to use while initiating a keyword research needed for SEO or SEM respectively.

However, it is important for me to state here that for you to get access to all that LSI graph has to offer, you need to upgrade your LSI graph tool to a premium plan.

1. Go to LSI graph website.

2. Input your keyword in the space provided.

3. Confirm the reCAPTCHA box.

4. Gather relevant LSI keywords from the results shown.

Where to insert LSI keywords for SEO?

For you to align your content to the emphasis placed on LSI keywords by these algorithm updates, you need to identify how you can use semantic indexing to suitably rank your web contents on the SERPs.

Usually, LSI keywords are expected to be used in the following aspects of during your on-page optimization process-the post title, header tags, URLs, meta descriptions, alt texts, body texts and anchor texts.

#1. Post-Title

The post-title otherwise referred to as page-title is an HTML element in search engine optimization.

It is the headline normally given to a content which often contains the focus keyword of a web page.

Therefore, after generating your LSI keywords, you need to select a suitable one that aligns with your content strategy and insert it into your post-title.

#2. Header Tags

Often referred to as <H1> and <H2> tags in SEO parlance, header tags are usually featured as sub-titles across paragraphs that try to convey added information about searcher queries or intents.

It is important to state that there are 6 header tags <H1> to <H6> at the time of drafting this content and as a publisher, you need to feature selected latent semantics that rightly suits the information contained in each paragraph where they are used.

#3. URLs

The URL is the short form of Uniform Resource Locator.

The URL which is also known as a website address reference the location of a site with respect to its protocol identifier and resource name.

A good example of a URL is http://example.com.

Hence, if you are just starting out a niche blog, you need to identify LSI keywords that are related to your niche and include it in your domain name.

This will help search engine robot-the Googlebot to easily rank your new website accordingly.

#4. Meta Descriptions

The Meta descriptions or meta-tags are snippets that usually contains the summary of a webpage.

It is also an HTML tag which is often displayed beneath the Post-title of your webpage on the search result pages.

The Meta-tags equally determines the conversion rate of a webpage, as it influences the click-through-rates of each page.

Therefore, to maximize the CTR of your web pages, you’ve got to include in your snippets LSI keywords that quickly suggests to a searcher the focal points contained in your web content.

This is a very important aspect of SEO and if you have not been getting it done the right way, you need to ensure that you keep it informative, yet concise.

#5. Alt Text

Alt text is an acronym used in place of alternative text in SEO parlance and it has HTML attributes.

It is a word or phrase that is usually inserted into a content image to tell web users the nature of an image.

It is therefore important that you insert into your webpage images the right alt text using LSI keywords that web users are searching for.

#6. Body Texts

It is very essential that you feature enough LSI keywords on your web content.

And to achieve this, it is very advisable that you create lengthy content of not less than 2,000 words.

The reason is that the longer your content is, the more LSI keywords related to your keyword strategy can be captured.

Also, how you structure your content is very important towards maximizing the use of semantic indexing.

You should insert LSI keywords into the headers, sub-titles, first paragraph and the last paragraph of your contents while using short sentences throughout the body texts.

#7. Anchor Texts
By now, you know that anchor texts are hyperlinked clickable texts featured on a webpage.

The use of Anchor texts during on-page optimization improves user experience as it points a visitor to other web pages which directly explains a text or phrase has relevant to it.

However, Google webmaster’s policy guidelines frown at anchor links that do not relate in context to the hyperlinked phrase.

You need to take note of that anytime you are using anchor texts during SEO copywriting.

FINAL NOTE

LSI keywords is an integral part of SEO even though many publishers often ignore its importance.

If you use your web contents is being managed on WordPress, there are few plugins that provide necessary SEO support to get your content well optimized using LSI keywords.

Plugins like the Yoast SEO, All-in-One SEO, and Twinword SEO are plugins you need to install and activate on your WordPress dashboard to fully enjoy their LSI graph functionality.

Webmasters / Hacks On How To Increase Google Adsense Earnings by Seofingers(m): 11:42pm On Aug 15, 2018
It is a fact that many bloggers don’t fully understand how Google AdSense works which explains why many webmasters got frustrated to quit blogging due to the insignificance of their Google AdSense earnings.

In case you are at the crossroad, it is important that you carefully digest this comprehensive guide on how you can begin to generate a much higher ROI on your blogging efforts using Google AdSense.

Now, as we hack into the secrets of high AdSense earners in this post, you will understand how to monetize your blog with Google AdSense and what Google expects from all Webmasters interested in earning big through the Google AdSense Program.

What is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is a website monetization program designed by Google to help webmasters or publishers earn money from Ads placed on their website anytime a web visitor makes an impression or clicks on the displayed adverts.

Currently, over 14.3 million websites use AdSense to earn money from their websites while many webmasters also join affiliate programs like Amazon, Clickbank, Clickfunnels to maximize the earnings from their blogs.

Google AdSense uses web cookies or internet cookies to determine which Ad pops-up on your web pages while web users navigate through your blog.

How Does Google AdSense Work?

Google AdSense program operates on a CPC (cost-per-click) advertising model which allows publishers to insert an HTML code provided by Google into their sites and have ads appear that are directly targeted or relevant to the site content.

After installing the ad code in your site, the Ad bots will crawl your site to see what all your pages are about. They then check their inventory of ads and put related ads next to each of your articles.

For example; if you create contents for an automobile niche, the possible Ads that are expected to be on display is likely to be related to Autos, Spare parts, Car Deals [Import/Exports] to mention a few.

This is quite logical as someone reading an article on Automobiles is much more likely to buy auto tools or spare parts than someone who is reading an article on maternal care.

Moreover, this is the reason why a major factor that determines how much you will earn with AdSense is to create contents for Ads with high Cost-Per-Click value.

This I will explain in more details as you read further, but before we get into that, it is important you understand the terminologies often displayed on the Google AdSense dashboard.

Definition of Terminologies Used in Google AdSense.

For the sake of new members of the AdSense program, it is important you understand different terminologies that better explain what this web monetization program is all about.

It is equally important for me to state that your in-depth understanding of how these terminologies or AdSense metrics work, will greatly help you in maximizing your Google AdSense earnings henceforth.

Page Views:

This metric shows the number of visitors that have viewed through a webpage. Alternatively, it can also be explained as the traffic your web contents have gotten over a specified period.

The source from which you drive traffic to your website is VERY important as it determines the optimal values of other metrics like Page RPM.

Page RPM:

RPM is an acronym for Revenue Per Mile or better explained as the Google AdSense money earned by a blogger by a thousand impressions.

However, there are critical factors that influence the value of AdSense RPM metrics, these include; your blog niche, the quality of website content, traffic source, and the number of advertisers vying for the AdWords.

Usually, RPM is calculated by dividing your Ads estimated earnings by the number of page views gotten over a specified period, then multiplying by 1000. [Earnings/Page Views*1,000].

For example, if you earned an estimated $0.50 from 100-page views, then your page RPM would equal ($0.50/100) * 1000, or $5.00.

Impressions:

Literarily, when a web visitor checks into your webpage where Google Ad banners of different sizes are displayed, and at least one ad out of the total ads on your website loads to the user's device-then the specific ad units displayed are counted is counted as an Ad impression.

This is the reason why you need to occasionally perform a background check on the Ads performance that is being displayed on your website for you to optimally get the revenue your niche deserves.

Clicks:

This metric represents the total clicks carried out by a unique visitor on the Ads displayed on your website.

Unfortunately, many ignorant or greedy webmasters have been banned from monetizing their blogs through the Google AdSense program by self-clicking on these Ads or using an Ad auto-click software.

As we continue, you will also understand other factors that could get your AdSense account banned by Google.

Cost-Per-Click:

Cost-Per-Click (CPC) is an important factor that GREATLY determines how much you will earn as a publisher on the Google AdSense program.

The CPC is very significant because it is the amount Advertisers have decided to pay on every click that one-click that occurs on their Ad banners.

Therefore, Cost-Per-Click is the revenue you earn each time a unique web visitor clicks on their ads as displayed on your website.

Page Click-Through-Rates:

Click-through rate (CTR) is the ratio of webpage visitors that click on an advert link or ad banner displayed on your webpage(s).

Clickthrough rate (CTR) can also be used to gauge how well your keywords and ads are performing.

The CTR which is expressed in percentage is calculated using this formula: [Clicks/Impressions].

Taking a cue from the CTR formula above, you will see that ‘Clicks’ and ‘Impressions’ metrics are very crucial in the actual value of your AdSense CTR.

How Can You Register for Google AdSense Program?

• To join or create your Google AdSense account, you need an active Gmail account or create a new one if need be.
• You need a hosted website with original contents related to your blog niche and one that meets AdSense policy guidelines.

To create your AdSense account, follow these steps:
1. Visit https://www.google.com/adsense/start.
2. Click on the ‘Sign-Up Now’ green box.
3. Select a Gmail Account you desire to use in signing up for AdSense.
4. Enter the URL of your website or any site that you want to show ads on.
5. Choose whether you'd like AdSense to send you customized help and performance suggestions.
6. Select your country or territory.
7. Review and accept the AdSense Terms and Conditions.
8. Click Create account.

You're now signed in to your new AdSense account.

After signing up, you will be issued a unique AdSense publisher ID which you are expected to insert into your website header theme.php.

The insertion of this AdSense HTML code authorizes Google to track or monitor the contents on your website to certify if it meets the AdSense guidelines and if your AdSense request deserves to be granted or disapproved.

Usually, the approval should not take more than 2weeks maximum. But in peculiar cases whereby it exceeds this timeframe, you can send a mail to Google AdSense contact or help.

How to insert Google AdSense on your WordPress Website.

As earlier stated, to participate in the Google AdSense program, you need to own a website.

This is important because the Google AdSense HTML code issued on your AdSense account will need to be inserted into the HTML file of your website.

For the sake of newbies, let’s quickly run through how to insert the AdSense code snippet into the theme header so that Google Ads can begin to display in different Ad banner sizes across the pages of your site.

1. Copy the AdSense HTML code snippet from your AdSense account.
2. Login to your WordPress Dashboard.
3. Go to Appearance to select the ‘Editor’ option.
4. Click on the ‘Theme Header’ section [Right-side]
5. Find the ‘Head’ tag section.
6. Paste the AdSense code.
7. Click on ‘Update file’.

Usually, your Ad units or banners should start displaying in a short while if you correctly follow the steps highlighted above.

At this moment, I will share with you what you need to do to maximize your Google AdSense earnings as determined by the terminologies we discussed earlier.

How to Increase Your AdSense Revenue.

To increase your Google AdSense earnings, you MUST ensure you follow through this quick Google AdSense Guide which I guarantee will add more flow to your earnings.

#1. Choose a profitable Blogging Niche.

This is the foundation a publisher must solidify if you are really interested in earning well as a Google AdSense partner.

The reason why you need to carefully choose your niche is that the Cost-per-Click [CPC]; which is the amount Advertisers are willing to pay largely depends on the niche you create contents for.

This is the reason why you need to perform a keyword research using Keyword tools like the Google AdWords or Keywords Everywhere.

These tools will provide you with the prevailing CPC metrics for each keyword as related to different niches you are considering.

Ensure you choose a niche that shows high Cost-per-click values over time.

Some of these niches include; Digital Marketing, Health, Food, Nutrition, Dating/Romance and Vegetation [amongst others].

Of course, in choosing a blogging niche, you’ve got to have some knowledge and deep interest in such field or niche.

So, don’t get greedy in choosing a blog niche where you don’t have much know-how about so that you will not find yourself running out of content ideas before kick-starting your blog.

#2. Get Pageviews from Good Source.

This is a very important point you must take note of if you are serious about getting increased earnings on your AdSense account.

The reality is that the CPC varies from one country to another and greatly depends on how much advertisers are willing to pay Google for every click that gets on their ad units.

For example, the CPC bid presented by an XYZ automobile company for a keyword in the United States will be different from the CPC bid of that same keyword offered by ABC automobile company in Nigeria.

XYZ Autos could offer $3.64 CPC on their Ads while ABC Autos bid $1.40.

The implication of this is that for you to earn $18.2, you will need 5clicks from the United States if you are a publisher based in Nigeria.

On the other hand, if your traffic is solely from Nigeria, you will need 13 clicks to earn $18.2 for the same keyword.

So, you’ve got to be strategic about the source of your traffic and that is why I always recommend you optimize your contents for the search engine using SEO.

The reason is that driving traffic using social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will at best get your contents in front of few audiences based outside your present location.

Unlike traffic from the search engine that is mostly driven by searchers intent to buy.

This is the fact you need to consider incorporating into your content marketing strategy if you want to earn big as a Google AdSense publisher.
#3. Reduce your Page Bounce-Rate.

The Bounce-rate is the percentage of unique visitors to your website who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page.
• This usually occurs due to the following reasons;
• Thin or Unhelpful Content.
• Slow speed or load time website.
• Poorly designed website with unclear navigation.

As displayed on your Google AdSense dashboard page, a rising bounce-rate on your Google Analytics is a sure sign that your homepage is boring or frustrating to visitors.

You can put this issue to bed by creating helpful contents, checking your website response time using speed check tools like Google Pagespeed Insight or Pingdom.

In addition to this, ensure that there are nor re-directs on your website as this often frustrate visitors while also get you navigation clear for new visitors.

#4. Create helpful contents and optimize for high CPC Keyword

The most fatal mistake you can make as a publisher is for your content to lack originality.

That will not only affect your earnings, it will get you a Google AdSense Ban with a blacklisted domain.

So, you need to learn some SEO copywriting to know how you can write for search engines.

Usually, before you create contents for your blog, performing a keyword research will offer you insights into searchers intents, so avoid creating contents you think should interest readers.

It could be a great content but might not really get you traffic because searchers are not looking out for keywords related to what you have published.

#5. Link your contents to other helpful contents

Link-building helps to give your content a good user experience and provide more options for readers to get more insights into their queries.

Therefore, you need to link your contents to other pages on your website. This point is in line with Google AdSense best practices.

It also helps keep visitors engaged on your blog which by consequence lowers your page bounce-rate or time the average time spent on your website.

#6. Place Ads strategically on your website.

It is a common knowledge that the leaderboard ads which pops-up before each page on your website generate the highest CPC.

Therefore, it’s very important you place ads on the leaderboards or better still opt for Auto Ads placer which authorizes Google to put Ad banners across your webpages where it will deliver an optimal performance for clicks and impressions.

#7. Block non-performing or low CPC ads

Lastly, you need to check the performance of each Ad which displays on your website using your Google AdSense account.

You can block non-performing Ads with low CPC while ensuring that all displayed Ads are ones with high tendency to deliver a better AdSense earning.

Final Note

To become a high earner through Google AdSense, you need to stay updated with Google AdSense policy review and updates.

Read tutorials and get involved in Google AdSense Forum where webmasters and publishers share more about their AdSense tricks and hacks.

You will also discover how you can receive your AdSense payment using PayPal or Payoneer after you reach the first payment threshold which is $100 [for US AdSense account users].

If you do everything right with Google AdSense without flaunting the guidelines as contained in the Google AdSense program policy guidelines, you have no reason not to get your AdSense payment at the due date.

You can leave your comment below as I am open to answering all your questions.

Webmasters / Google Voice Search: How To Optimize Wordpress For Voice Search by Seofingers(m): 5:51pm On Aug 10, 2018
According to Google reports, over 50% of searches will be voice-based by 2020. Why not begin to capture the possibilities Voice search SEO brings to the digital space.

Before Google launched its Voice Search product for Mobile and Desktop users in 2002, search engine optimization has mostly been dominated by text-based optimizations and searches.

However, despite being launched 16 years ago, many SEO and digital marketers have fallen short of annexing the simplicity Google Voice Search brings to search engine optimization and how it improves user experience.

In this post, we investigate the uniqueness of Google voice search, its functionality and how you can optimize your website henceforth to align with this new technology.

Also, we’ll be looking at how digital marketers can develop content, ad campaigns, and strategies with voice search in mind while also delving into what the future holds for text-based optimization in the face of the increasing dominance of voice search SEO.

Let’s Go!

Ok, Google. What is Voice Search?

Google Voice Search which was initially named Voice Action at inception is a Google search function or application that allow searchers to carry out a search by giving voice commands to an internet enabled mobile device or desktop.

The voice search apk currently accommodates over 60 different spoken languages some of which are; Afrikaans, English, Finnish, French, Polish, Russian, Swahili, Swedish amongst others.

Practically, users initiate a voice search by using the phrase ‘’Wake’’ which authorizes the search engine to process the voice commands and the word ‘OK’ to terminate the command after the best ‘voice results’ related to the query has been listened to by the searcher.

Google Labs and Voice Search.

The historical background to the invention of Google voice search is traced back to the innovation factory of most Google product and services known as the ‘’Google Labs’’.

The Google Labs otherwise called Google X Lab was created by Google to test run series of new tech projects and has rightly described by Google, ‘’it is a playground where more adventurous users can play around with prototypes of some of our wild and crazy ideas and offer feedback directly to the engineers who developed them’’.

This lab became a solid ground for tech innovators and is responsible for the birth of other google product like Mail, Google Maps, Google Calendar and Google Wave.

Sadly, the operation of this Google idea factory was shut down after Google announced its closure in July 2011, invariably leading to the abandonment of other ideas being incubated.

Google Voice Search and Hummingbird Algorithm Update

The introduction of the Hummingbird algorithm in 2013 greatly impacted voice search SEO.

The Hummingbird algorithm which was introduced in September 26, 2013 greatly underline the use of natural language queries which has contextual meaning over individual vague keywords.

Meaning that the Hummingbird algorithm takes a closer assessment of the content on each webpage published on a website, so as to lead searchers directly to the most appropriate page rather than just a website's landing page.

The interesting feature of Google’s hummingbird algorithm is its ability to interpret human search interactions especially conversations and voice commands.

This new digital revolution has changed the method of keyword stuffing previously adopted by some web developers and writers to get ranked on the SERPs after many websites were hit by Google penalty and many URLs blacklisted.

Therefore, keeping in mind the increasing significance of voice search, most digital users are now optimizing their website contents using human languages which get easily crawled and indexed by the Googlebot.

Google Voice Search and Apple’s Siri

Like the Google voice search model explained earlier, Apple’s Siri which was developed by SRI International Artificial Intelligence Center is a voice technology found on Apple products like the Apple Inc.'s iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS operating systems.

Like Apple, Google Voice assistant designed to function on all Microsoft PCs, Android tablets or Mobile phones also use voice queries and a natural-language user interface to answer questions, make recommendations, and perform actions by delegating requests to a set of Internet services.

Therefore, a major similarity between these two digital technologies is their voice recognition ability to provide web results to all voice queries while adopting the use of a natural human language coding.

The duo virtual assistant is designed to easily grasp and interpret human languages which are used by searchers during any voice search query.

OK Google, How Do I Optimize for Voice Search?

Having established the significance of optimizing for voice search, you might be curious to know how you can optimize your blog posts for this revolutionary SEO trend henceforth.

PS: These underlisted voice SEO optimization processes are designed using WordPress features because it manages a larger percentage of web contents globally.

#1. Optimize Meta Descriptions.
#2. Page Speed.
#3. Use Long-Tail Keywords.
#4. Get Enlisted on Google My Business.
#5. Be Mobile-Friendly.
#6. Create a FAQs Page.
#7. Get Secured with SSL.
#8. Keep your Snippets Concise.

Now, let’s take a deeper look into how you can do Voice SEO using these guidelines.

#1. Optimize Meta Descriptions.

By now, I believe you have activated Yoast SEO or All-in-One SEO plugin into your WordPress dashboard because these SEO plugins readily provide WordPress users with a template for inserting your posts meta description or snippets and generally guide you through in optimizing your blog posts for SEO in an appropriate manner.

What is a Meta Description?

The meta description is a brief tag in HTML usually limited to 155 characters which summarize a page's content.

Usually, when a searcher enters a query into the search engine, the meta description is the introductory phrase that shows up directly beneath the Page title.

Therefore, to optimize your content for Voice SEO, you must provide a summary that directly address the query sent in by a search and don’t forget to include your target keyword in the snippet.

#2. Page Speed.

For you to maximize the increasing usage of voice search by search engine users, the response time of your page speed cannot be over-emphasized.

No one really wants to wait a ‘decade’ to get a quick response to an urgent query. It can be a turn-off for your new visitor or even a returning user to wait more than 3secs before gaining access to the contents on your webpage.

Therefore, you must ensure that you perform a page speed test or evaluation on your website.

To do this, Google Pagespeed Insight tool or Pingdom is popular website speed test tools which give detailed insights into the speed rate or response-time of a specific website.

As shown in the Pingdom Website Speed Test Dashboard, you can get more insight into how your page responds to users from different countries in Europe, United States of America and Scandinavian regions.

The Pingdom web speed tool grades the performance of a website based on percentage, the load time of the landing page on a website as well as the Page size.

Your website is of good performance if graded above 70% and showcase a user-friendly load time if it responds between 1 sec-3 secs.

To quickly fix a poor page speed performance, you need to check if your web host service provider has an excellent customer support that quickly address technical issues as well as having a steady uptime period.

To check this, you can check for the online reviews of previous users of the host service.

Personally, if you discover that your webhost provider falls short of these qualities, it is advisable to change to a more reliable hosting service.

Bluehost and WP-Engine hosting service are highly recommended for you if you decide to switch.

Another important factor you should check is the size of images featured on your website.

Usually, if images on your web pages are above 600×400px, you need to consider resizing the image on your blog posts.

#3. Use Long-Tail Keywords.

According to Google reports, most voice searches carried out in 2017 was initiated using Long-tail keywords.

Remember, long-tail keywords have low volume searches even though it has a high conversion rate.

Long-tail keywords are often three and four keyword phrases which are very specific to whatever you are selling or marketing online.

Examples include;

How to install Google Map on WordPress.

How to integrate E-mail Marketing Service on WordPress.

Where to buy a Blue Khaki Jacket.

Looking at the nature of these keywords, you will discover that they are a combination of three to four italic keywords.

You can find relevant long-tail Keywords using Keyword tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Ads Planner and Ubersuggests.

Ensure to include in your Post-title the long-tail keyword while seeing that you optimize the permalink to reflect long-tail keyword as featured on the content title.

It is important to avoid any stop words in the permalink box as Google crawling robot ‘Googlebot’ to easily understand what the page is really talking about.

#4. Get Enlisted on Google My Business.

One veritable way of increasing your brand visibility on the search engine is to optimize your website for Local SEO because according to case study report given by Brian Dean, over 45% of global searches are local searches.

Therefore, to cover the population of local searchers for Voice search, it is desirable that you make it easy for your waiting audience to easily find you through the search engine.

One of the ways is to get your business registered on online business listings and most importantly, Google my business.

For many internet users, they might be interested in getting quick information regarding your Business Name, Address and Phone contacts [NAP].

Hence, it is important that for your business to get enlisted on Google my business in order to properly syndicate your NAP details for voice searches.

#5. Be Mobile-Friendly

In recent times, the increasing use of Android mobile phones and tablet devices has greatly increased the volume of mobile searches globally.

Therefore, it is very important your website function properly for mobile, tablet and desktop internet users.

A quick way to ascertain if your website supports user-friendly is to check if your web theme properly fits for mobile phones, tablets, and desktop users.

In case your website falls short of this important feature, you need to change your web theme to a more responsive one that supports all device mentioned.

#6. Create a FAQs Page

The need for a Frequently asked questions [FAQs] page on your website is very important because as earlier affirmed, most voice searches are question-related using long-term keywords.

Frequently asked questions page helps your potential customers get quick answers to important questions often asked about your product or service.

Therefore, if your website is not featuring a FAQs page until now, you might re-consider creating one that features relevant questions mostly asked by your clients or customers.

#7. Get Secured with SSL.

According to Google, having a site security lock on your website is important for SEO whether Voice SEO or Text SEO.

Therefore, to get your website to align with SEO best practices in 2018, you need to get an SSL certificate and integrate it on WordPress.

Wondering how to get an HTTPs signal for your website, you could check for one through your web-hosting service and make a purchase.

After purchase, transfer your website from HTTP to HTTPs.

Peradventure your hosting package comes with SSL certificate, you easily get it activated using a plugin called ‘’Really Simple SSL’’ plugin.
Taking this action will upgrade your search engine authority and page rank moving forward.

It will equally increase users trust to carry out the secured transaction through your website without the fear of their credit cards being sabotaged by hackers and internet fraudsters.

#8. Keep your Snippets Concise.

To get increase the CTR [Click-Through-Rates] and conversions of your webpage on the SERPs, very important is optimizing your meta description or snippets concisely.

I advise you keep snippets short using between 20-28 characters while giving a clickable preview or summary of the page content.

Avoid giving a vague meta description rather, ensure that searchers easily find a clue to the main purpose of your webpage.

As stated in the opening paragraph of this article, Yoast SEO and All-in-One SEO plugins provide an already designed template to get your meta-descriptions properly optimized.

Webmasters / International SEO: How To Rank Top On Serps Using Different Languages by Seofingers(m): 12:36am On Aug 03, 2018
Introduction to International SEO

The need for International SEO considerations emanated from the growing number of internet users index from Europe to Asia-Pacific and across Africa continents which equally increased users search intents across different geographical landscapes.

Suffix to this development, multi-national companies with a business interest in different continents need to optimize their website with an eye to capture the Local markets across these divides.

This is needful because SEO for international business enables global operators to communicate their brands with local clients or customers in a way that appeal to their individual culture, language and national identity.

Therefore, for a corporate entity to function optimally in different geographical zones across the globe, it must integrate some International SEO best practices into their official website.

This and many more International SEO strategies will be uncovered in the following highlights.

What is International SEO?

International SEO is the technical process of optimizing a website for the search engine with the interest of easily interpreting which geographical location and business language an entity hold.

Unlike a Local SEO strategy which focuses on capturing some local searcher intents through On-Page optimization, International SEO gravitates towards a more complex web optimization technicality.

Although both Local and International SEO strategy’s endpoint is to increase a website’s webpage rank on the Search Engine Results Pages, however, the former operates with a unilateral idea of common culture and identity while the latter is more heterogeneous to these elements.

International SEO features geo-specific optimized URLs, multi-lingual translations for different operational locations, link building from country-specific domains (ccTLDs) and business directory update on geo-specific Google My Business Pages.

In essence, SEO international targeting ultimately positions your website to capture global audience irrespective of their culture, language or identity.

How to do International SEO

SEO for international sites requires the know-how of a certified international SEO expert due to its complexities.

Nevertheless, if you are savvy in web design and development, you should be able to crack the fundamentals of building a website that integrates an International SEO marketing approach.

Here are details into International SEO Checklist and what needs to be done;

#1. Implement The Hreflang Tag

Implementing the hreflang tag helps the search engine to easily understand the localized versions of a webpage and ultimately point users to the most appropriate version of your page with respect to their language or region.

To practically activate the hreflang tag on your website, you can follow three specific routes namely;

• HTML tags
• HTTP Headers
• XML Sitemap

HTML Tags: The choice of HTML tags in hreflang tag integration is useful if your website does not have a sitemap or an HTTP response header.
Simply add <link rel="alternate" hreflang="lang_code"... > elements to your page header.

This action intimates the search engine about all the language and region variants of each webpage on your website.

For different pages on your website, each should include a set of <link> elements [<link rel="alternate" hreflang="langcode" href="url-of-page" />]in the <head> element.

For example; An international SEO optimized website that serves users in the USA, Great Britain, and Germany. The following URLs variations occur due to regional differences.

http://en.example.com/page- Generic English language homepage that contains page information for the Great Britain Market.

http://en-us.example.com/page - US homepage that displays webpage information for the USA market.

http://ng.example.com/page - Nigeria homepage specific for the Nigerian market.

http://www.example.com/ -Default page that doesn't specify any language or locale.

However, it is important to reveal that the language-specific subdomains in these URLs (en, en-gb, en-us, de) are not used by search engines to determine the target audience for the page; instead, you must explicitly map the target audience.

HTTP Headers: The choice of an HTTP header for hreflang tag implementation is often adopted if you have a non-HTML file on your website which you want to geo-target for a better user experience and familiarization.

Link: <url1>; rel="alternate"; hreflang="lang_code_1", <url2>; rel="alternate"; hreflang="lang_code_2", ...<url_x>

For example; header returned by a site that has three versions of a non-HTML files:

One for English speakers, another for French speakers from Switzerland, and one for Portuguese speakers:

Link :<http://example.com/file.pdf> ; rel="alternate” ; hreflang="en",

<http://fr-ch.example.com/file.pdf> ; rel="alternate” ; hreflang="fr-ch",

<http://pt.example.com/file.pdf> ; rel="alternate”; hreflang="pt"

XML Sitemap Use for Hreflang Tag Integration:

Alternative to the two approached explained earlier is using Sitemap to structure each Url on your website with respect to language and regional variations.

Proceed to identify the <loc> element specifying a single URL, with child <nhtml: link> entries listing every language/locale variant of the page including itself.

This positions your webpage(s) to showcase multiple entries distinct for each region or operational base.

Using the example used in HTTP headers; for English, French and Portuguese speakers; encoding your Sitemap for Hreflang should follow this order;

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"
xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/english/page.html</loc>

<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="en"
href="http://www.example.com/english/page.html"/>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="fr-ch"
href="http://www.example.com/franciase-deutsch/page.html"/>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="pt"
href="http://www.example.com/portuguese/page.html"/>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/francaise-deutsch/page.html</loc>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="en"
href="http://www.example.com/english/page.html"/>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="fr-ch"
href="http://www.example.com/francaise-deutsch/page.html"/>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="pt"
href="http://www.example.com/portuguese/page.html"/>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/portuguese/page.html</loc>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="en"
href="http://www.example.com/english/page.html"/>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="fr-ch"
href="http://www.example.com/francaise-deutsch/page.html"/>
<xhtml:link
rel="alternate"
hreflang="pt"
href="http://www.example.com/portuguese/page.html"/>
</url>
</urlset>

#2. Structure your Website for Language Translations and Country-Specific URLs

Every webmaster interested in capturing international SEO needs to design a site architecture that is optimized around a country code top-level domain [ccTLDs].

ccTLDs are top-level domains specially reserved for a sovereign state or dependent entity within a country. These are often expressed using canonicals like .us, .uk, .ng, .de, .ca, .fr, .se, .kr, .au and others.

Furthermore, you should organize webpage contents with reference to regional languages that suits each sub-domain and sub-directory.

Permit me to add that using adopting ccTLDs for transcribing your web contents could put your site at the risk of duplicate contents if not properly handled by an International SEO webmaster.

Besides, the implementation of ccTLDs as international SEO strategy could demand a lot of financial outlay which could only be sustained by the big industry players.

As a matter of fact, avoid using google translation as a translation tool for your web contents. To clear all doubts of mis-transcribing your contents, you can employ the services of a certified language translation amongst the locals in your country of operation.

These hurdles have seen more global brands and international SEO agencies embrace the use of subdomains and subdirectories to neutralize the language and cultural barriers.

#3. Register your NAP for each region using Google My Business

Just like the Local SEO approach, you should equally register your business information like Name, Address, and Phone contacts related to specific locations where you have an operational base.

This helps to ensure that your business is not missing out on being visible to local users on Google business listings.

Advisably, consider streamlining your International SEO Keyword Research and Landing page to capture the regional specifics that suit each search intents for your business.

Ensure you properly optimize your title tags, meta tags, images and snippets that simply direct your contents for an increased visibility among other competing search engine results pages (SERPs).

You must understand that the seamless transcription experience of your web searchers in different regions across the globe could have a great influence on your conversion rate which could as well affect your International SEO ROI.

Therefore, it is important that you create a sketchy framework into that defines each operational region or zones you are targeting for International SEO and endeavor to showcase them in each geo-targeted website outlook.

#4. Build Links From ccTLDs.

The link-building approach for International SEO is quite different from the standard SEO practices you are familiar with.

Before now, you already know that link-building is an important strategy to adopt if you want to get your contents to the first page of search engines.

However, the approach you need to follow in getting ranked on top of search engines in different geographical space is to build links from websites with a similar country-specific domain.

This International SEO link-building approach will enable the search engine to profile your web contents in a specified format for optimal visibility to searchers.

To track the links from other ccTLDs, you can integrate Google Search Console into WordPress or your choice Content Management System and employ the use of other relevant international SEO tools to get further explicit information into searchers intent across your all regions.

#5. Get a Good Web-Hosting Package

To ensure that your website optimally performs when visited by a web user from different locations, you need to choose a tested and trusted web hosting package.

Consider a web host with a regional Content Delivery Network (CDN) feature to ensure that there is a guarantee for quick loading of your web contents ranging from the HTML pages, JavaScript files, stylesheets, images, and videos.

CDN hosting package serves high traffic social sites like Facebook, Netflix and E-Commerce giant site- Amazon.

A website configured using CDN gets secured against some common malicious attacks, such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks.
It equally guides against an excessive cost of bandwidths consumption through caching and website interruptions that could come from a large amount of traffic.

On a Final Note…

Before launching an International SEO campaign for different markets, you should consider weighing the costs/benefits of such an expensive strategy.

You can adopt the use of International SEO ROI Calculator which will offer reliable statistics to evaluate if an international SEO effort will produce a good return for your company at this time.

Should you decide to implement International SEO fundamentals into your business operations, you can consider employing an international SEO manager with an international SEO certification as a member of your in-house marketing team or outsource your international SEO projects to a top SEO company or consultant.

Kindly share your thoughts about this topic and reveal if your entity has ever considered employing International SEO strategy.

Webmasters / One Thing Every Serious Blogger MUST Know-keyword Research. by Seofingers(m): 12:38am On Aug 02, 2018
Fundamental to search engine optimization is Keyword Research.

Before you can increase your e-commerce website or webpage(s) on the search engine, you must have a good grasp of how to conduct keyword research.

There are both free and paid Keyword research tools available to be adopted in conducting a thorough evaluation of necessary keywords which are often needed in targeting a specific range of internet users and potential leads.

What is Keyword Research?

Keyword Research is the statistical evaluation of what I like to call ‘’Marketable Keywords’’ as it relates to the search history of specific Keywords.

If you are a newbie in the digital marketing industry, your ride through the path of online marketing is expected to get you to engage in both qualitative and quantitative analysis of keywords. This helps a great deal in ensuring your web pages gain increasing visibility across the search engines.

The information displayed for various keyword on any preferred keyword analytical tool is often perceived as the statistical review of how each keyword on the search engine has performed over a specified period.

Why is Keyword Research important for SEO?

Carrying out a Keyword Research prior to creating a webpage on your website helps a great deal if you desire to see the page(s) gain more visibility on the web search engines like Google, Bing, or Oath.

Keyword Research helps to provide a proper guide for an SEO expert both for carrying out on-page optimization, copywriting and other White-Hat SEO techniques.

More importantly, the insertion of different keywords on a webpage submitted to the search engine helps the robotic crawlers understand what the page is talking about.

Therefore, if keywords included in the body texts of a webpage are not sufficient, the search engine crawler will not get a comprehensive idea of what your webpage is focusing on and this will make the indexing of a webpage difficult for ranking.

Finally, for the proper optimization of the image texts both for alt and meta tags, Keyword research is vital in surging the analytics of a webpage.

Types of Keywords.

In search engine optimization, there are short-tail and long-tail keywords and they are both crucial in getting a webpage gain an increased visibility on the web search engine.

• Short-Tail Keywords
Short-tail keywords are search phrases with only one word whose length makes them less specific than searches with more words. An example of a short-tail keyword is ‘Shoe’.

• Long-Tail Keywords
In contrast to the short-tail keywords, these set of keywords are search phrases with more than one word or closely related phrases such as; White Snow Ball and Men’s Blue Jacket.

Mind you, the adoption of either keyword has significance in optimizing for the search engine as you will discover shortly.

• Pros and Cons of using a Short-Tail Keyword

The adoption of a short-tail keyword its own advantage as well as disadvantages depending on your SEO strategy.

For example, if a digital marketer or copywriter is interested in driving tons of traffic to a webpage, short tail keywords is the best option.

However, there is quite a big hurdle for newly launched websites whose search activities are just beginning to compete for the already established and aged domains.

The shorter the keyword is, the higher the search volume. Hence, if you could get ranked for a short tail keyword, you’re going to get plenty of organic traffic.

In addition to this fact, the conversion rate of a short-tail keyword is low. This means that because of the competitive nature of short-tail keywords, the level of generating leads through your audience or website visitors is low.

For example, say you have a short-tail keyword performing well in search engine which drives about 100,000+ traffic monthly to your webpage(s), the conversion rate might not be more than 100.

Another disadvantage of short-tail keywords is that they are too specific and less targeted to be mapped out for closely related keywords when an internet user sends a query to the search engine.

• Pros and Cons of using a Long-Tail Keyword

For Long-tail keywords, there is less competition in getting highly ranked for it.
When you choose a long tail keyword, the traffic volume is often low compared to the volume of traffic guaranteed when a short-tail keyword is used.

It is important to note that this low traffic turnover could be a bad thing for some specific niche(s).

However, if you operate an e-commerce website and your marketing strategy is to cater to specific customers, you may consider adopting a long-tail keyword due to its capacity to expand your reach to more targeted potential customers.

Lastly, the most interesting attribute worthy of note about Long-Tail Keywords is the high rate of its conversion.

Even though these conversion rates differ with respect to what it is you’re selling and business location, you will still reap the dividends because website visitors have more probability of converting their visit to leads.

Types of Keyword Research Tools

Many paid and free Keyword research tools often provide detailed statistical analysis of keywords, giving vital information about search volume and forecast.

• Free Keyword Research Tools

The following are free keyword research tools which are equally effective in carrying out a comprehensive Keyword research needed for SEO.

#1 Google AdWords Planner

The tool is primarily designed to help in customizing an SEO Campaign when an online marketer decides to use Search Engine Marketing [SEM] approach in reaching out to its targeted internet users.

Nevertheless, you can use it to research organic keywords by customizing your results for your chosen keywords.

Step-by-step to using Google AdWords Planner for Keyword Research

• Sign-in to Google AdWords using your Gmail account.
• On the interface, search for new keyword and ad group ideas
• Review the search volume for a list of keywords or group them into ad groups
• Get traffic forecasts for a list of keywords
• Multiply keyword lists to get new keyword ideas

To maximize the effectiveness of Google AdWords planner, you should pay attention to keyword ideas and ad group ideas, as both can help with SEO. Ad group ideas contain a set of related keywords that might not show up in general keyword ideas.

Pay attention to the metrics displayed in the statistical table presented featuring the average monthly searches, keyword competition and forecasts.

However, one major flaw of Google AdWords Planner is that it does not give a competitive analysis of specific keywords either on a country or regional basis.

#2 Keyword Tool

The trial version of Keyword Tool offers free Keyword suggestions for the first 750+ keyword. It features search volume, Cost-per-click (CPC), Pay-per-Click (PPC) metrics on each Keyword either short-tail or long-tail and competition.

It also allows you to export your results to Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file or Excel format and equally support Keyword data mining.

The tool works excellently if you are targeting a long-tail keyword or finding suggestions about high converting keywords.

Keyword Tool uses Google Autocomplete data to create its database in providing statistical Keyword result to all users.

• Paid Keyword Research Tool

For paid research tools, a subscriber will be open to having access to its limited features for a 30-days trial version.

There are popular paid keyword research tools which greatly provide data needed for search engine optimization, SEO copywriting, on-page optimization and SEM purposes.

Examples of some popular paid Keyword research tool includes; SEMrush, KwFinder, and SEOmoz.

#1 SEMrush Keyword Research Tool

SEMrush tool has multi-faceted impressive features when combining SEO with content marketing.

This tool offers in-depth Keyword analysis ranging from Cost-Per-Click (CPC), Volume, Keyword trends and Ad copies of listed searches.

Like other top keyword research tool, SEMrush collects keywords that have a search volume of at least ten queries per year on a regional and international basis.

For a search engine optimizer or a copywriter interested in Keywords competitive benchmarking, SEMrush possesses features which evaluate your competitors ranking based on several web performance indicators.

Furthermore, SEMrush also helps you launch into a competitor’s landing pages and workflow-using it as a guide to help you brainstorm your own content optimization.

#2 KwFinder

KWFinder has a long tail keyword research tool features which provide statistical keyword report for trends, search volume, CPC, and Keyword difficulty level in results.

If researcher seeks to evaluate what domains are targeting the same choice keyword you pick, KwFinder offers comprehensive insights into the page’s backlinks, social shares, and traffic of your competitor’s webpage containing your desired keyword.

Another dimension of this Keyword research tool is that it supports content marketing in relation to local SEO specifics of country, town or city.

#3 SEOmoz

This Research tool combines critical features from Keyword Planner, Google Suggest, and Related Searches.

With SEOmoz, an SEO expert or copywriter could attempt to develop lists of keywords and use Moz keyword explorer to get more insights into the performance of these keywords.

Keyword Planner also offers an in-depth analysis of why certain pages rank higher in SERPs based on your respective Keyword competitors.

Keyword Research and Local SEO

The visibility of your webpage(s) on search engine top rankings could be highly demanding. But if you have the right SEO strategy, I believe you should be able to compete with established SEO agencies in your country or location.

To maximize Keyword for Local SEO, the starting point is for you to make a list of keywords which internet users send a query to the web search engine based on your geographical location.

Once you get the less competitive keywords, you need to optimize your landing page features to reflect what your prospective site visitors could be looking for, be it a product or services.

Ensure that you get your website enlisted on Google’s business directory as this helps in mapping out the geographical location of your business including other critical success factors central to increasing your website’s visibility.

Keyword Research and SEO Copywriting

Writing for SEO is critical to ensuring that your site gets more targeted to your prospective clients.

However, SEO Copywriting has evolved over the last couple of years which saw a lot of copywriters engage in Keyword stuffing of the chosen keyword in the title tag of the webpage.

Contemporarily, the starting point of SEO copywriting is Keyword Research.

Depending on your choice focus keyword, Keyword research helps in generating related terms or searches which invariably gives an intensive support to getting your content easily understood and indexed by web crawlers.

Keyword Research and SEO Techniques

Lastly, we take a smooth ride into the significance of Keyword research to different SEO techniques like; White-Hat, Black-Hat and Grey-Hat SEO.

#1 Keyword Research and White-Hat SEO

For long-term and ethical SEO experts, White-Hat SEO seeks to improve the visibility of a webpage using SEO Copywriting, Keyword analysis, link-building and On-Page optimization of their website.

Adopting Keyword Research to promote your White-Hat SEO campaigns, you are targeting some long-term returns and not the quicker benefit which Black-Hat SEO guarantees.

#2 Keyword Research and Black-Hat SEO

Black hat SEO refers to the use of unethical techniques of getting a webpage(s) ranked for SEO. While paying a special focus on beating the robotic intelligence of the web crawlers.

This approach which does not support approved search engine guidelines often comes through keyword stuffing, insertion of invisible text, the creation of doorway pages and the conjoining of unrelated keywords to a webpage content, otherwise called page swapping- {changing the webpage entirely after it has been ranked by search engines}.

Keyword Research is often overly manipulated while adopting the Black-Hat technique and this result in Keyword stuffing in each of the paragraphs contained on a webpage.

#3 Keyword Research and Grey-Hat SEO

This is the extreme of both White-Hat and Black-Hat SEO techniques. It borders on the hacking activities of hackers into a ranked webpage(s).

Most times, Grey-Hat SEO often land the source of such search engine activity into litigation and the eventual black-listing of such website.

Here, Keyword Research is not needed by the agent of such unethical hacking before a webpage can be infiltrated or ranked in the web search engine.

Webmasters / How To Market Your Business With Local Seo. by Seofingers(m): 2:33pm On Jul 31, 2018
If you are a business owner, brewing start-up company or a digital agency with a concern for brand promotion or leads generation, my advice is that you embrace a Local SEO service.

In this lengthy but helpful article, you will get practical ideas about how you can position your website in a legit way that guarantees more search engine visibility and high-rate conversions.

As an SEO expert with over 3 years freelance experience; prior to the launching of SEOfingers, I find it pathetic that many local business owners, vendors or entrepreneurs don’t even have a basic grasp of search engine optimization.

In fact, a great number of local entrepreneurs often prefer to reach their customers via social media influencers who have acquired great followership over the years.

Others consider social media marketing using Pay-Per-Click Advertising to target specifics.

Regardless of how effective you think these business marketing mediums generate results, nothing connects you for free with both the local and global audience like you will discover when you optimize your business webpage(s) for the search engine.

What is SEO?

SEO is a short acronym for ‘Search Engine Optimization’ which simply defines the acceptable method of optimizing webpage(s) to gain optimum visibility on search engines.

Presumably, I believe that you are already familiar with the Google search engine and at previous times sent in a query that generated ranked results.

The compendium of search results as displayed on your screen are optimized results which web crawlers have indexed from various websites globally.

Often, the top-ranked or the first-page webpage(s) are believed to provide the best response to the query of an internet user. These pages get over 85% of search engine traffic related to that search.

About Local SEO

To demystify Local SEO for any dummy, I will simply put it that Local SEO connects with this proverb of ‘’Charity begins at Home’’.

Optimizing your business website for local SEO is a proven way you can market your business to your immediate community and convert them to leads.

In this article, I will deliver to you 7 blueprints Local SEO ideas that certainly works for any type of business.

#1. Brand/Domain Name

One of the fundamental ingredients needed to get your immediate locality to recognize what the business represents is via business branding.

In the case of Local SEO, the Domain name in which you register your business website is central to how quickly the search engine will understand it and more importantly, your prospective audience.

At SEOfingers, we often advise clients to include in their domain name-a phrase that easily explains what they do at a glance even without the visitor taking a trip to the landing page of their website.

Well, you might begin to imagine what other significance this assertion has to do with the visibility of your business in relation to the search engine?

• Significance of Custom Domain Names to Search Engine Rankings

Personally, I believe streamlining your Domain name to a near custom style will help your locality easily find you through the search engine.

For instance, If MR A intends to hire the service of a local Drycleaner and sends a query to the search engine to get the business contacts of available options around his location-say, Los Angeles, the searcher could also likely use synonymous keywords like, Washer and Laundry in his quest to reach a potential dry-cleaning vendor.

Hence, it makes much sense for a new business owner in this type of niche to register the business Domain name as one that nearly suits the products or service which it readily offers potential online searcher.

In this case, it could be LAlaundry.com or LAcleaning.com or LAwash.com.

Quick study about highly ranked websites on the search engine shows that about 80% of these webpage(s) have a phrase or keyword in their domain name which expressly defines what the business is about.

I vividly recollect those moments of brainstorming about the Domain name I wanted to register my SEO company with.

After much evaluations and name changing, I gladly settled to have my domain name @SEOfingers featured a phrase that easily resonates with the fulcrum of my agency which is Search Engine Optimization.

#2. Mobile Friendly Website

Some of the SEO audits we have carried out for some of our clients at SEOfingers often show that many got it wrong right from the scratch, especially in the choice of the content management system of their website or the type of web design theme integrated.

Infact, after testing some of these websites using some site speed testing tools, we advised for a total revamp of the unresponsive web theme to a more responsive theme.

Our in-house web designer and developer did a great job in this regard to give the site a seamless user experience as they navigate from our landing page through to the service pages.

In addition, another key element of a user-friendly website is the hosting package you signed up for. I have seen a lot of newbie online marketers ignorantly birthing their website using a free website hosting package.

Permit me to break your heart at this juncture, by telling you that ‘’nothing offered for free gives absolute freedom’’.

You’ve got to invest some funds into your website design and development because it deserves to be handled and managed like a physical office space where you display your wares or goods.

A slow website will increase the bounce-rate on your analytics because new visitors will grow out of patience to bounce out of your ‘still loading’ landing page once they realize that the website is as slow as a moving snail.

Quick Tips on how you can keep your website User-friendly.

Central to an improved website performance is to ensure that you keep your landing page Simple.

 Yes, I understand that you want to get into the heart of your visitors-but in trying to achieve this purpose, you do not want to frustrate their access to easily gain a view of that landing page.

 Another tip is to hire a professionally certified web designer who understands the best framework needed to launch your website. You can place an order for such on sites like Fiverr and Upwork if you can’t easily locate one in your locality.

 Sign up for a good and effective website hosting plan and there are some good ones that we often recommend for our clients. You can find them here.

#3. Content Marketing

Many website owner or entrepreneurs often show laxity when it comes to creating contents for their online business.

For others who create contents to promote their Local SEO service, they often fail in the techniques and approach of marketing the curated contents.

From time-to-time, I offer my clients this simple advice- ‘’Don’t just launch a website for the fun of having one, you must ensure that your website has something new to offer a new visitor in terms of solving their problem or meeting their immediate or future need’’.

A veritable way through which you can showcase your know-how and expertise in your chosen niche of business is to get your contents to them through the best and most effective social media channels.

The idea is that you must create a very helpful and relevant content consistently and ensure that you optimize for relevant Keywords.
How can you create Search Engine optimized content?

Peradventure you have asked yourself this recurring question on how you can create a helpful and search engine optimized content. Consider these bits below;

 Hire a Copywriter or Learn SEO Copywriting.
 Understand and engage in Keyword Research.
 Employ the use of relevant Keyword Tools.
 Keep abreast of good contents and industry leaders in your niche.
 Get topic ideas from SEO niche related forums on the internet.

Particularly, there are many formats in which you can curate contents for your new website other than through copywriting for Keywords.

Some of these alternatives include the use of Infographics, Webinars, Podcasts, and Videos.

Funnily, many think Content marketing is limited to social media sharing of post updates without realizing that it is meant to start right from the first letter written in the content.

So, the question that must be agitating your mind is how do you go about that?

 Optimise the content meta description

This point cannot be over-emphasized as it is quite important you keep a short but descriptive statement in the meta tags of your content.

The reason is that many internet users take a quick glance at the meta-description which often gives a summary analysis of the webpage result or an introductory statement about what the webpage focuses on and if done right, your website’s Click-through rate will show a significant surge.

 Ignite a sense of curiosity in the web searcher

You need to see through into the mind of a search engine user. Try to wear such hat before you click on the ‘publish’ button.

Mind you, the idea is not to deceive a searcher, rather, it is to get them to show more interest to click on your webpage result amongst other options available on the search engine.

#4. On-Page Optimisation

This section is hugely important to positioning your business website for an improved visibility on the search engine.

You must equally understand what you should focus on regarding your website’s landing page as it relates to on-page optimization.
Follow these quick steps;

4.1 Create a simple and easy navigation landing page to help your website user have a quick grasp of what your brand represents.
4.2 Optimise each webpage on your website with a focus keyword [if you are a newbie; consider optimizing for less competitive or long-tail keywords]. You can find out why here (link from Keyword research article).
4.3 Properly optimize the title and meta description tags.

#5. Google Business Listings

If you are reading this piece and discovered your business or website is yet to be submitted to Google’s Business Listings, you’ve been robbing yourself off many possibilities this simple local SEO idea can bring to your online marketing strategy.

The reason for my assertion is mentioned below;

Google Business Listing helps to promote the visibility of brands across their respective local communities with basic information such as the company or brand name, phone number(s), company address, operational hours often featured.

It makes sense to sign-in your business information on Google Business listings to ensure search engine visitors discover the information relevant to your business when they desire to reach a local SEO service provider.

#6. Build Domain Authority/Page Rank

For your webpage(s) to outrank other competing local businesses, you must be committed to building the authority of your domain through link building techniques.

Newbie content optimizers often assume that creating great content is the sufficient condition that gets their content to the top of search engine rankings without understanding that it’s only a necessary condition.

Link-building helps google algorithm to evaluate your webpage as authority webpage for improved ranking on the search engine.

This is achieved through the frequent use of Anchor texts and internal links within the structure of your text contents as well as links to other authority sites called-Backlinks.

If you stay committed to featuring this tip consistently on your contents, you’ll discover in a short while how your website pages rise to the top of others.

Ordinarily, it is expected you feature between 3-5 links on every content featured on your website.

These backlinks are expected to be some related topics to the same focus keyword you just created.

Check Wikipedia’s style of link-building.

Quick tips on building Backlinks to your website

Before getting started, I’ll like to clearly state that whichever internet marketing tool you pitch for, the main goal should be to maximize the returns of your strategy because there will definitely be trade-offs for any choice you make.

Expectedly, at the end of this well-thought article, you would have gained a good grasp of White-Hat SEO techniques and how you can annex it in boosting your blog traffic.

Search Engine Optimization Techniques

SEO techniques are majorly divided into three parts, although the first two approach is mostly practiced by SEO experts and these includes;

• White-Hat SEO
• Black-Hat SEO
• Gray-Hat SEO

What is White-Hat SEO Tactics?

White-Hat search engine practice is the ideal or ethical SEO standards approved by leading search engines like Google and Bing for increasing the Search Engine Results Pages [SERPs].

For a company providing SEO services using White-Hat SEO techniques, it is expected that each SEO project produces the desired results while staying within the approved search engine optimization techniques.

Highlighted below are some few examples White-Hat SEO experts often employ while seeking to improve their web rankings.

Content Creation: This White-Hat technique entails the periodic creation of quality and helpful contents targeted towards specific keyword (short-tail) or group of keywords (long-tail).

As a content creator or content marketer, you must avoid activities that could infringe on the intellectual property rights of other bloggers by using their contents without properly getting an approval from the author or duly giving credit to the source of the information.

Frankly, I’m quite sure that you will not want to jeopardize your search engine reputation by engaging in such dishonest activity.

If you think you need some fresh ideas or help about how you can create helpful and fresh contents for your website, you can secure a paid service of a freelance SEO Copywriter on sites like Upwork and Fiverr.

Alternatively, you can welcome interested copywriters to contribute to your blog contents through Guest posting.

However, to avoid your blog becoming a ‘dumping site’, ensure the guest post is relevant to your blog niche and equally contribute immensely to existing knowledge.

In addition, ensure that your blog contents are relevant to prospective readers and avoid making unpardonable grammatical errors.

Web User Experience: This aspect focuses on the experience your website visitors get any time they click on your webpage results as delivered by the Search engine.

Here, the user experience is evaluated by considering the Response time or Uptime of your website including the Site speed.

Presumably, I’m quite sure that your decision to stay on this webpage is because the response time it took for you to gain access is considerably fast. If not, you would have opted out to source for another related webpage that equally provides an answer to your query.

For many global searchers, the likelihood of revisiting a website increases if they could view a webpage within considerable time-using mobile devices, Desktops or iPads.

When they fail to gain quick page access, they usually bounce or exit such a website because of the slow page time. It is recommended that your page load time should not be more than 3secs.

There are page speed testing tools available for free which can be easily employed in carrying out a page speed analysis.

Pingdom as well as google pagespeed insight tools are commonly used to give an accurate page speed or a comprehensive website performance report.

Keyword Research: For many White-hat experts, Keyword research is a fundamental SEO building process because it provides important insight into different SEO data like; the Keyword difficulty level, Keyword suggestions and the prevailing CPC bids over a specified period.

To carry out Keyword research, SEO experts often employ the use of keyword tools like Keyword.io Ahrefs, SEMrush and Google Adwords Planner that provides reliable data needed to gain an exposure to keyword possibilities.

Landing Page or On-Page Optimisation: This is equally a critical element in White-Hat tactics.

Website landing page is the ‘first-call’ for a new visitor or internet user; as this makes its optimization very important to search engines.

White-hat experts often run SEO checks on a web landing page to certify that each page is optimized appropriately with choice keywords needed for a local search. This is what search engine optimizers or web developers refer to as Local SEO.

What Is Black-Hat SEO Tactics?

Black hat SEO is a contrast to White-hat SEO. It is an illegitimate tactic adopted by black-hat SEO specialists to get an improved ranking on the search engine results pages.

These tactics include purchasing links or using deceptive cloaking techniques like Keyword stuffing to outsmart search engine crawlers, traffic automation software, creating gateway pages that grab users with keywords, then redirect to another (potentially unrelated) site and infiltrating hacked sites to place content links without the approval of the actual site owner.

Nevertheless, Black-Hat practices are becoming less dominant in the digital marketing space as search engine algorithms get more sophisticated from time-to-time.

Consequences Of Black-Hat SEO Techniques

Black Hat practices when discovered by the sophisticated search engine robots or crawler like Google's main crawler called-Googlebot can get your site blacklisted from search engines.

Google Webmasters guideline frowns at illegitimate SEO manipulations and has overtime penalized a lot of digital marketers who have gone against the search engine best practices.

Undeniably, the search engines remain a veritable source of traffic to your website and getting banned can result in a drastic drop in website traffic and even business.

Infact, once your website gets black-listed, the chances of your domain getting re-listed on the search engine is very unlikely. Therefore, before employing Black-Hats SEO tactics, consider the consequences.
