DIVFAVOR: Yes you are very correct, but do u knw if I have a company and I hv a mechanical engineer who can structure a production plant, then I will give hom an additional training to manage the process while the electrical guy will manage the control with these I hv covered every role a chemical will play. though it might be too cumbersome for them. am only trying to let u understand that other engineers can cut inbtw us, but we can hardly do such not becos u cant but becos others are more flexible than us in terms of generality.
god bless u. do you know how much it will take you to teach the mech/elect what a chem engr knows. Why cant you also use the money to teach the chem engr guy., in my own opinion it easy and cheaper to teach a chem engr guy mech stuff . |

efedua: tell them, is just because Nigeria have not come to know the true value of chemists/chemical eng.s but let wait for development and economy sovereignty to hit the country and you will see "noble professions" dancing to the tune of production and salvaging. exatly.are u a chemist or chem engr |

DIVFAVOR: please remove chemical engineering, its never a competing course in Nigeria/world, its the least in all engineering course. experience will tell. I will never advice my enemy to study to chemical engineering. i think you should visit this site maybe it would change ur orientation http://www.chemicalengineering.org |

DIVFAVOR: Well, I didn't say they don't have good jobs, but its not competitive the way people see it. am a chemical engineer and I work in a good company, but I can tell you categorically that we have thin chances to compete with a mechanical, electrical and petroleum engineers mainly in the oil and gas sector.
pls mention a unique thing we do that any other engineer can not do in the industry?
I rest my case. God bless all chemical Engineers. an you are sure you studied chem engr. |

dhope: where did i mention chemical engrg restriction to oil and gas? pls quote me frm the post. then as an engr u shud understand dt alternative lik chemical car shud hav been common in use if it is more efficient than internal combustion engine system. chillax . It is going to be tested b4 the end of the year trust me it wil be 10 times more efficient than normal combution engine |
Education › Re: The Best Engineering Course To Study In Nigeria by seribroo56(m): 9:57pm On Sep 04, 2014 |
dhope: lik someone rightly said, dont focus on oil and gas alone. in mechanical there are other industries lik mining and aviation which i didnt mention b4 and money comes wit experience in any engrg field u find urself. imagine d salary of an engr who happens to be among flight crew wit time? am nt preaching my alma mata to u where i also read mechanical but futa is nt a place u wont enjoy to study mech. mechatronics is good because i even wish to study it at M.Eng level but it is a future course as far as naija is today considering our present level of tech advancement. a time is coming when all coys in naija will be forced to adopt automatn production to save cost and improve quality but it might take time. who told you chemical engineers work only in oil and gas company. A ChE student can perform at least 50% of what a Mech student can do.Have you heard of chemical car,or molecular motor and also we also predominate the semi conductor industry.anything energy .Your batery, dams, solar etc |
