There are two reasons for this (from my experience).
1. If you have ingested anything that has a strong green colour (as in artificial green colouring additive)
2. If your child ingested some bacteria especially if he also has watery stool.

For the first one, nothing you can do, it will pass normally.

While the second has to be treated. Give ORT in the meantime and then Flagyl (not the adult one, the one for kids). PLease go and see a doctor just to be on the safe side.

Green poo for exclusively breastfed babies mean he's not getting enof feed,he's either getting foremilk only n not hind milk or he's. Or getting full on breast milk only.The same happened to my baby too at 4m.

Hello everyone, hope every is great! Please I need ur view on this- my baby would be 6months on friday bt I noticed his poo has been greenish. He poos well which means like 2 times or more daily depending on the way he feeds from birth. He is on exclusive breastfeeding so I am wondering if there is sumone that has any idea what the issue is.

Kunu is gud for breastmilk bt to avoid bin fat, take kunu without sugar. I have someone that makes it for me here in abuja and she makes the one with sugar and the one without sugar mostly for breastfeeding mothers, depending on you choice. But you can also make pap from jero or oka baba here in the north we call it dawa. Let it be watery and always take it hot without sugar bt u can add milk.

'oka' varies. some are mild and some r severe. i never said to place it staight from the bottle to the scalp. i said 'mixed' with oil. its what i use up till today and it helps with cold and catarh. baby oil bottles are quite big and thats what i look at before i mix and i know silverbird is srong. i may not mix up to half a bottle of silverbird but the little i did add helped work wonders. it may not have worked for u but it sure did work for me. moreso 'oka' causes stooling a lot in babies; so i m made to understand. my baby too xperienced it.

pinkydaisy: Hello mums,,new in here, had my baby on the 16th of May and to God be the glory. It has been from one problem to the other but all is well now, i can boldly come to this thread to learn more.
My baby didn't poop after the initial 4/5 days of mecomium,,,,,,she finally pooped after almost 11 days, come and see screaming and tears in the little angels eyes ,,,,but God being so merciful, she passed poop and has been calmer since then. People said it had to do with my diet but i have been reading online that it happens most times to most babies.

After her birth, i noticed her eyes were kind of off coloured from what am used to seeing in most new borns and drew the attention of the doctor to it but he kept on insisting it was normal, not until after about 24 hours when i noticed her pee was so concentrated and practically screamed the doctor into having a look at her,,,my sisters when she was tested for Jaundice, it was so high(the normal level of Billirubim for infants is about 2 but my baby's was 12 ) they began treatment for Jaundice with photo-theraphy for about 3 days and nights, i was just crying like a baby watching her under the heat of that light Unclad and alone. Her skin got so burnt and she lost so much weight very fast,you could just see her disapearing right before your eyes, worst of all, my milk refused to flow.
When we were finally discharged, i took my angel home preparing to start motherhood in peace, when it was noticed that the baby had more than the usual opening on her skull,,the Yorubas call it Oka,,hope i spelt it right? and the igbos call it ngbuwaisi,,,,,my dears, come and see panicking, everybody kept on bringing suggestions on how to help the skull cover up fast and sincerely i was at my wits end. i just turned to God in prayer and reminded him that his gifts added no sorrows so why am i jumping from one problem to the other with my gift that he has given me.I cried and cried unto God and finally somehow, i received his grace on what advice to listen to and what to discard.
Presently, my angel is thriving and she even smiles now, funny. She is eating fine and gaining the weight, slowly but surely.

Long and short of this is that every mother knows her baby best and should pay close attention to the child, always ask questions and be ready to sieve the responses you receive, discarding the unnecessary advices without being rude. Most of all,,God alone knows these babies best, always ask him for his grace and guidance on how to take care of your baby and please worry less cos God can not bring you this far to leave you.

My wife is currently 6 weeks pregnant, the lord had blessed us again after as some of you may recall, we lost a baby last year at 20 weeks.

trinity042: I just discovered this thread and I'm loving it, my baby will be 5ms come 12th of this month, he refused taking d SMA I gave him, he prefers d Brst milk. My problem now is my brst is now on fire, d surroundings is now peeling off. I really need an alternative cos I'm scared of feeding him because of d pains I'll go thru.

Plz I beg u, don't try to stop cos its his continuous sucking of the breast that is going to heal it if not, it may not. He has to suck it back to health, I op u understand? Its nt easy but u have to endure the pain.

zenoj: For sore throat,grate some fresh ginger into boiled water n let stand for 3-5mins,add pure original honey n lemon juice(not lime) n drink. D mixture is very good for sore throat,cough n cold,n healthy too.

To the baby momma's, keep bonding its ur time. Plz, 27 weeks and having this really disturbing sore throat, what can I use? Have tried taking hot tea bt it isn't helping much. Advise needed please.

@limsycutey, chicco products are good. My sis in law uses for her baby. Bt still need us all to realise dt diff strokes for diff folks. It might also suit ur baby or otherwise. All the best.

I still feel we'v got a terrible govt. Because compare to the amount paid for air fare, the money that goes to the airline is nothing compared to the tax collected on each ticket. When you buy a ticket of #17000 and about #9500 or more is going to the govt for the various taxes, then what is left for the airline especially to buy aviation fuel or maintenance and so on. Yet this crazy people sitting dier collecting the taxes aren't doing anytin wth the money xcept embezzlement. Nt just airline should be blamed, bt Govt shld take the larger part. Cos as they say- pay ur tax, so dt dy can provide for us, bt wht do dy provide? Nuttin

Am so glad finding this thread. Am presently in my 22weeks and God has been very faithful.
Apart from the usual tiredness cos I don't work, I feel great being pregnant and seriously looking forward to the day. Wish us all happy and wonderful delivery. @dudugirl, I read ur story frm d begining and was glad wen I finally read d part dt u av given birth. Congrats and love to Caroline.
