Politics › Re: My Thoughts On Solving Nigeria's Infrastructure Challenges. by seunt4ut(m): 10:44am On Dec 10, 2015 |
naijaedutech: If things continue this way in Nigeria, then in 100 years from now we will continue to trail the western world in every area of development. Our population is increasing geometrically and if we continue to develop our infrastructure arithmetically then the Malthusian theorem will be our case.
A budget of N6Tr with only 30% for capital expenditure will take us nowhere. According to Fashola, last year the FG awarded road contracts of over N2 trillion meanwhile only 13billion naira was released. Out of Nigeria's 198,000 kms of roads, less than 20% are paved and over 65% are in bad condition Out of 40,000 megawatts of electricity required to power the nation, less than 10% (4,000 mw) is being currently generated
For us to be able to match these western countries we should be ready to take on serious sacrifices. I proffer the following solutions. 1. Government should stop sponsoring Hajj and Pilgrimage. Nigeria is a secular state and has no business spending money for these.
2. Concession all our Federal roads, contractors should be granted licenses to construct their own roads. Let them collect tolls on such roads for a specified period of time to recover their money. (Lekki Concession company a case study)
3. Only Basic education should be made FREE. The idea of FREE education for tertiary education is balderdash and not obtainable anywhere in the world (IMO STATE; a case study).
4. There's absolutely nothing wrong with borrowing money for capital projects (infrastructure) Let us borrow as much as we can to fix our infrastructure problem. It will pay in the long run.
5, Most importantly, governance should be made less attractive. There is just so much money in the hands of these guys that it makes me sick. More than 70% of our our budget is used to service the ever-growing insatiable needs of our Politicians.
You agree with these? What other solution do you have?
Let's discuss!
www.martinuwakwe.com
@lalastica To make this easier. I think Government should give the housing project to private sector. Where company build and sold to individuals just like in Asia. It will decongest , it will enhance security and improve basic needs such as Water, Electricity, clean Environment. What they need to do is to allocate lands for investors. We have strong land that can carry can condominium , it will save us a lot of land and materials. |

chigoizie7: because our naija ladies are soo stup!d and so engrossed in copy copy life styles from our oyinbo counterparts. They all lacked self esteem, they all lack the zeal to work hard for themselves, all they know how to do is fvcking different men up and down so that they can get money in return to lavish it on brazillian hairs and bleaching creams and the most expensive gadgets forgetting that the people they are trying to emulate has a good reason for what they are doing.
All they do is to learn the bad aspect of some people's life and never the good ones a popular igbo adage says "ajo ife adiro afia aru mmuta".(Bad things no de hard to learn).
But they all forgot that the majority of white ladies they try to emulate are different.
*majority of them does not go for "peruvian" "brazilian" or "indian" hairs, this is because their natural hair color and style is what they carry and they package and maintain it so well so that they will look good. Ultimately, they don't spend much of the money u spend on hairs because dey don't need to, but u wey be naija babe copy copy, will spend thousands of naira just to look like another person.
* they really don't need to pay for bleaching creams, because their skin is naturally bleached, but here they spend money trying to look like another person.
* all these gadgets they use, majority of them does not pay up front, a payment plan is always scheduled and available for them to get the gadgets and then pay bits by bits even if they are not working, little allowance from their "dow" can settle all that within a stipulated time frame.
*haven said these three ^^^ , and for the fact that our economy is not favorable to the common man, unemployment and all that, majority of these girls, jump into prostitution (coded or open) so as to achieve or gain what another person from another part of the world spent nothing in getting. With all these, they keep sleeping around with different men, intentionally or not, they keep getting pregnant, some will keep aborting until a time where they will be left with no choice than to give birth, otherwise na their life dey @ stake.
* some of the oyibo ladies can give birth to a child out of free will because they know that most of their needs will be taken care of by the government, even if they work or not. Also, some of the oloshos and lazy ones amongst them will have a child for a guy because of "child support" scheme, we really don't ave that here in naija.
But our naija sisters will not see all that, they will just open their legs wide open for any tom d!ck and harry and when they get pregnant, the guy man will abandon them, they will tell u to get lost, that once the child becomes of age, he/she will certainly ask about his father, and it will just take him kpata kpata 2weeks of crying and pleading and the child will forgive him, but "you" wey be d lady, u ve labored and toiled all your life to see the child grow. If she is a girl, na for her papa house them go go pay her bride price. If he is a man, he will go back to his fathers house so as to have a root.
But our ladies will not know about all these, because they are longer throats and lack a good self esteem. They don't value what they are, they always want to be fake.
Too long, I even got tired typing, but I ve to contribute, nice time reading the long epistle well said , this screenshot is to back you up .

The lost of family value and upbringing have both shaped the way everything works in today society. Parents were unable to have time for their children to give them proper moral orientation before leaving for the social world. fast lane lifestyle and wannabe tread most of the young lads. Poverty is another role player where a girl will be deceived by material things into a fake relationship.if you ask a man for money within the space of 2weeks of getting knowing each other, the respect will drop even if he eventually give the money. Technically ,don't use your relationship as a financial opportunity. In addition our media are not helping matter because the story they promote are not worthy, fake lifestyle, prostitution and get rich quick, full house wife and dominatrix. Growing up they say "Money can't buy happiness"but today I can tell you that money will buy comfort to a degree..however, to have healthier and successful relationship.you have to be mentally ready, build your willpower and be self-disciplined. |

Romance › Re: A Must Read For All Single Ladies "Husband Scarcity" by seunt4ut(m): 7:54pm On Nov 23, 2015 |
Drclassic: This may not be the best time for me to write on this because of misinterpretations, but I can no longer resist the push. "Husband Scarcity" has become one of the challenges faced by many young girls today. If you go to prayer houses, majority of the intentions are prayer for a life partner. And this calls for concern. Casting our minds back to the time of our mothers and grandmothers, was there really much of a "Husband Scarcity" problem? Or, maybe there were more men than women then, or there was an adequate corresponding numbers of both genders. I don't think so. Maybe then, the women had values and were prepared to build a home and not park into a built home. Then, once a young man comes of age and can at least feed himself and his wife, he goes out in search of a wife and the woman really appreciates him and helps him to build a future. What am I really trying to say? We created what we now see as "Husband Scarcity" for ourselves. Today, the reverse is the case. Ask an average girl to define her dream husband; you get things like "he has to be tall, handsome, fair, and rich, own a house at least, and be presentable" and then she adds "God fearing" in order not to sound so worldly. Then, check the number of girls around you and the number of men that meet that standard, and you will see the problem. You hear girls say, "I cannot suffer in my father's house and then go and start suffering with a man." What a wonderful dream! What if from the beginning, you have everything you want and there is no suffering, and later in the marriage, the table turns around, then comes suffering? Will you run away? No one prays for suffering, but it is good to start small and end big, than start big and end small. The problem is that the description majority of girls give of their ideal man is virtually the same. When 50 girls want the same kind of man and the man that fits what they want is just 1 man, and the man can only pick one. Then, what becomes of 49 others? They simply start lamenting of "Husband Scarcity". Another irony of our time is that it is hard, due to the face of our economy to find a man who is of marriage age who possesses all those things these ladies want, legally (except those involved in Internet fraud); even the number of those in Internet fraud is not enough to match all those searching for already made husbands. If you look around, majority of the ladies of substance, of good value and virtue, who are ready to build a home with a man who has prospects, are married and not complaining of husband scarcity. The easiest way to find a husband now, is to change your view of who a husband is. A husband is that man God made and then saw that it may be hard for him to really actualize his purpose for making him, without a help mate and then made the woman and gave to him, and he felt complete and fulfilled. MARRIAGE IS NOT A POVERTY ALLEVIATION PROGRAM. It is a mission of building the family of God here on earth. For those who see marriage as a way out of poverty, it is a way into bondage. Women are HOME BUILDERS, not HOME WARMERS... DON'T CONFUSE A MAN'S PATH WITH HIS DESTINY. Where he is today, may only be a route to where God has destined him to be tomorrow. Another truth is that YOU MAY BE THE ONLY FAST MEANS TO THAT HIS DESTINATION. Join in alleviating "husband scarcity". PICK UP THE RIGHT VALUES. I am not saying that you should pick anyone that comes your way and talks of marriage, not all men are husband materials. What I am saying is that you should stop setting your standard on material acquisitions or physical appearances. Look beyond the physical. WHAT MAKES A MAN WHO HE IS, IS NOT WHAT HE OWNS OR HOW HE LOOKS, IT IS WHAT HE IS MADE UP OF. And that which he is made of is, most times, not seen with the physical eyes, only its effects can be seen. Marriage is a permanent thing. Whatever is seen is temporal and that which is not seen is permanent. Relax and go to God in prayer. God did not just make Eve for making sake; He made her for Adam's need to be truncated Lovely write up well articulated. What we need in today society is enlightenment and advise not a criticism. You did well. I will copy paste on my facebook Page for more mind to read. |
