You don't have to fly down to Nigeria to renew your passport. Just go to Nigeria home office at the country you are currently residing and apply for renewal. They will put you through. I used to renew when I was living abroad without having to come to Nigeria.

So you are in Benin? So how is Benin's economy? You say most are poor. Is there acknowledgement on the part of Yorubas there that they are Yorubas? Do they acknowledge the Alaafin as the King of all Yorubas or just Ile Ife? I know the Yorubas there are poor as I've read. Not quite as rich as Nigerian Yorubas. Is there a insecurities of Yorubas by the Dahomeans? As they've once had hostilities even though it was long ago. Is there any indication that the Benin Yorubas want to economically develop their kingdoms?
I'm not quiet sure if the Yorubas here are poor sir. 70% of tokpa market is control by the Yoruba while they control 50% of Mesebo market. Lawyers Bankers and doctors have come in contact with are Yoruba ,maybe the Yorubas in their village are the poor ones. There has been a rivalry btwn the Dahomey people called Egun and the Yoruba as most Egun believe that the Yorubas usually get rich through juju plus they only share opportunity idea btwn their Fellow Yorubas. You can easily differentiate btwn Both tribes through their setup as the Yorubas are more interior ,big mansion ,exotic cars, international influence. Thou they're politically marginalized as they don't get appointment in politics which I believe that has helped them to flourished. In fact Egun tribe wouldn't think twice to accept Yoruba Marriage proposal while the Yoruba will turn it down on its way. So it's like Tribe for Tribe.theres no good relationship btwn naija Yoruba and the Benin Yoruba as they believe that naija Yoruba has been compromised due to some bad things some people I don't want to mentioned have committed here in benin so when you comes in as a Nigeria person you are automatically refer to as Igbo as long as you don't speak Fumgbe and French. They recognized Oba of Oyo as the leader of all Yoruba pretty well. Obasanjo have a mansion at the head of my street where he come to relax at the edge of ocean in one Yoruba community. So if you want to live and feel at home rent a house belong to Yoruba. So it's Tribe for Tribe.

I most certainly would like to live in Benin. There are Yorubas in Benin and their kingdom borders Nigeria. It seems Oyo was split by boundaries set by Europeans. I understand that Yorubas and Dahomeans are cousins due to one of the sons of Ile Ile married a Fon princess creating the Dahomey bloodline. The rise of Oyo and Dahomey is a vision of His Royal Majesty Oba Adefunmi I, I don't know if His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyemi III, current Alaafin, wanted this to take place but it could happen and spark the rise of West Africa as the next great empire. The American empire is falling and the Elites are staging Rome and Istanbul to replace it. The rise of Islam is coming and the appearance of the Mahdi or Islam Messiah aka the anti-Christ. The designers of the Christian and Islamic faith is the Vatican and the antithesis to Christianity is Islam. Two faiths designed to give the Paleskin world power and domination as religion has so powerful control over people. Just think if Hitler had promoted religion as opposed to race, German race aka Aryan race, as supreme, Hitler might have succeeded. Strange?
Most definitely. There are many states that dominate by the Yorubas and they really wealthy. Thou majority of Benin Yoruba are Muslim. However you will still hear names like Fagbemi Ogunsola etc ,this is my third year in benin. I've never witnessed physical confrontation at least I've been to 4 states and can drive my car with Nigeria plate number as long as I get monthly foreign vehicle permit.theres uninterrupted electricity supply at least I can boost of 3 weeks without blink and maybe once in a month for monthly maintainece which could last for 9hrs and it only take place on Saturday and Sunday which will be announce on Radio and TV ahead.water supply is steady never turn off for once except you owing bills.access road are tarred , street are not but very neat and drivable. House rent comes with agreement and you pay monthly not yearly. There's nothing like agreement and commission, you get your deposit as you are parking out after thorough inspection and evaluation.police don't harass; they greet you with respect and ask you anything with respect they will never lay their hands on you except you invited it. The country is not rich so everyone are money cautious.it border with Nigeria from Ogun state and Badagry so you have two border option to come and go. As for the Oyo empire. Yes Dahomey was captured by the Oyo soldiers and failed to captured it further due to the water that divide Porto Novo and Cotonou to calavi. The oyo empire lost Dahomey when the Egba warrior trying to blocked Oyo from collecting Royalties from Benin since Egba is close Ajase where Oyo king installed his King ,Dahomey has been equipped by the egba warriors. Oyo was expecting Dahomey to bring his royalties whe The time has reach when but Dahomey didn't so Oyo sent his soldier unarmed as they were not coming for invasion only to know why he has failed upon the arrival of the Oyo soldiers they met thousands of Armed soldiers so they started fighting Oyo soldier

I believe it is because of the lack of division among religions. I don't believe in forcing Africans into traditional faiths but I do believe we should allow traditional faith, the original African faith, the right to practice freely and openly. This is what is making so many nations in Africa divisive because God is restrained. But I am not in agreement that Satanic worship should be allowed for this is a rivalry against God. A religion isn't a religion if it doesn't promote peace, love and harmony among men and animals to the Mother Earth. Satanic faith like homosexuality is a product of European civilization and must be eradicated from Africa.
You're quiet right. It was an eye opener when travelled to Asia some years back. The Hindus and Buddhist have their shrine in almost every street without disturbing anyone in fact the majority people of the country are Muslim but they never speak against their fellow citizen with different religion belief.I've been privilege to travel around places and I've acquired more knowledge abundantly than what my primary to tertiary education gave me combine together.

Its most important that you return to your traditions of Africa. In Benin Republic, in West Africa next to Nigeria and Togo, Voodoo is the traditional religion. The Benin people are various faiths, from Christians, Muslims and Catholics, yet traditional faith is recognized and respected. In all the other African lands where protectorate states where established, where Europeans forcibly took over African Kingdoms and combined some rival kingdoms into colonial states based upon European governmental constitutions. Europeans took from the Kingdoms the right to raise taxes, the right to administrate judicial laws and punishment, also the right to raise defense. But the most important right that was taken from the peoples of Africa was the right to serve their own Gods as traditional religions were labeled heretic and outlawed. Many villages who refused were burnt to the ground and the people slaughtered into the chiefs agreed to confess Christ. Or in Islamic Jihad, until all became Muslims as Islam also imposed upon traditional Africans this outside religion. Benin is the only African nation were God is free, meaning all are welcomed serve any Gods they love. Which is contraire to the other 51 African nations where traditionalists are labeled witchcraft, persecuted or slandered by the society as they are deemed as cults. Yet I find it out in the U.S and elsewhere in Western civilization it is okay to open a temple to Satan, yes in America there is a temple dedicated to the adversary of Almighty God, many such places of worship in Western world. Yet traditional African religions have yet to gain freedom. Despite the fact traditional religions like IFA and Vodou are based upon shamanism and shamanism is the oldest religion on Earth. I advise all Africans on Earth to return to their traditions as this will be the fuel we need to establish a world of light. Nobody is free if God isn't free. We have simply allowed force and might to determine what is holy and what is not. Darkness and death is everywhere and the people have no defense against the demonic forces nor knowledge. Love, Sango.

In addition to those.

Kijong-dong is a model city built to attract South Koreans to North Korea from the border, but nobody actually lives there. It is a ghost city.

Kim Jon-un killed his uncle by throwing him naked in a cage of 120 hungry dogs. He then killed his entire blood line.

There are huge statues of the supreme leaders in public spaces.
nd most buildings have a picture of the supreme leader.

. There are currently 2,00,000 prisoners in about 16 camps.

If you are a visitor, your cell phone will be confiscated at airports and returned when you leave the country.

. North Korea has only 3 T.V. Channels.l

You have to ask for permission before clicking any pictures and chances are, you will be denied.

Oh and the Internet is not available for use.

I would like to share the story of my encounter with the Nigerian police in Lagos, Nigeria specifically with the men of the Idimu Police station, Area M. As this is a story that might resonate with a lot of Nigerians, I am not unaware that the story that I am about to share is common but I believe that the fact that this happens almost daily should not allow us to see it as acceptable norm or behavior. We are after all human beings who should be accorded human dignity.

On the 15th of December 2015 at about 11am I left my house in search of fuel for my car and generator, after being able to get the product only for the car at the NNPC station I proceeded to drive down to an ATM point to withdraw some money as I intended to get some more fuel. I got to the Isheri round about very near Idimu and I was about to take the turn when I saw a police vehicle by my side with a man waving, I stopped thinking that they were requesting right of way but I noticed he was pointing that I park. I parked just by the side as a law abiding citizen and soon after 1 policeman came over and requested that he get into the vehicle, I opened the door and he asked who owned the vehicle to which I replied that I did, he also asked for my vehicle particulars, driver license all which I provided and he confirmed to be ok and intact.

He then proceeded to ask me what I do to which I replied that I was a civil servant and also showed him my identity card. I expected him to exit the vehicle at that point but he asked to see my phone, my two phones meanwhile were visibly displayed by my side. I asked him why he would want to see my phone as I felt that was a violation of my privacy but he insisted and I felt since he had returned my vehicle papers I would get the phones back immediately. At that point a 2nd police officer had walked to my side of the window, he also requested to see my other blackberry phone. I complied knowing that I had nothing to hide , it was barely 20 seconds when I gave the 2nd policeman that he asked me who had the email accounts on my blackberry device, I replied and told him I did.

The next thing I heard shocked me as the 2nd policeman made a baseless, unwarranted, logic defying statement and accused me of being an online fraudster, I couldn’t believe what I had just heard, how do you stop a man in his car without any proof, any report or prior investigation and label him an online fraudster I denied this and said I was not an online fraudster as I was a civil servant working with the government and that I had identified myself earlier on with the 1st police officer. He said he could see 2 email addresses on the phone and that was proof that I was an online fraudster, I told them that having multiple email addresses was not illegal and didn’t make me an online fraudster. All this while my phones were with them, I was told to drive to the police station to clear the accusations at that point I knew the police officers were being mischievous.
While on the short drive to the police station the police man started asking questions like “e be like say you don live abroad before?” to which I did not respond. We got to the police station and the police man continued to stay in the vehicle, I kept asking what I was brought to the station for without any valid response as he kept looking through my Facebook messages, pictures, WhatsApp, emails. Finally he said we should get out of the car and was joined by the 2nd policeman. I was taken to a canteen in the police premise at the Idimu station, there I was asked to explain pictures of my trip abroad, the picture of my passport, my letter by COREN that I was certified as a registered engineer, my pictures at work, sms sent to relatives wishing them a happy new month, emails from my bank, chats with a colleague at work who was telling me his travel plans, internal memos from my work place and other private information.
This they said showed I was online fraudster , I could not believe this, how would anyone with a sane mind claim that by sending a sms or becoming an engineer, owning multiple email addresses or travelling equate to becoming an online fraudster. It was a preposterous suggestion that I kept refuting, but these 2 policemen were hell bent on warping the rule of law. I told them since I had responded to all they had asked and as such I had nothing to be held down for, this got them more adamant and they started to say I was acting smart, after almost an hour I was asked to follow them and that they would show me, I was taken to the anti vice office on the 1st floor of a 1 storey building. I got there and the office had 3 women and another man sitted, by then they were already saying they would deal with me as they kept going through my phone they then saw some emails from a premier online store in Nigeria (names withheld) and asked how I came about that, I explained that I registered on the website and that anyone could do that. At that juncture the 1st policeman Mr. Godwin Imo (384734) retorted and said any online business is a fraud, he said I should provide an ID card from the online store, I said I did not have an ID card from the store as you only needed to register and tried explaining that just like people were on Facebook, Facebook do not issue ID’s .it was most heart-wrenching to see the display of ignorance by an officer in this modern world.

I was then told to write a statement I asked the reason why I should write any statement as I was not informed that I was arrested or being detained neither was there any case reported against me and I followed them because I thought it was just a regular traffic stop. Immediately I said that 1 of the women in the office replied in a most aggressive manner that I was not serious and I must write a statement with the policeman boasting that this was the anti robbery and not a traffic department. Knowing very well the news of how innocent people are paraded as robbers or even dead bodies displayed as robbers killed in gun battles. I decided to thread more softly with care even as I reminded them that I work and serve the Federal government just like them.
At this point I asked that I be allowed to make a call, to my shock I was refused saying I could only make a call when I had written a statement. This was a brazen denial of my basic right, I told them that I was not writing any statement at which they began to sound more menacing saying they were going to make a case out of this, another woman in the office then said I should write a statement stating all that happened and my response to any question they might ask me, at this point the 2nd officer Mr. Okah James (365635) forcefully said I should write a statement and was claiming he would write to the British embassy that I had a criminal record including all sorts of threats like writing to the online store etc , this only proved to me that these men were highly incapable of critical thinking and I had to be more careful to save my life.
I decided to write a statement only if to be able to call and notify someone of my present location before anything untoward happened. While I was filling the information details on the statement form I had filled my phone number, home address, e.t.c I was stopped short by Officer Okah James and said the best I could do was to bail myself. I pleaded to make a call so someone could come and help me, I believe the officers hearing “help” took it for me wanting to bring someone to bring money and I was allowed to make a call to a family member the Officer Okah James even spoke with my family member and I pleaded that they wait as they said I had to take them to the online stores office at Akowonjo road.
To cut the story short, after asking me to get into their vehicle with me being told I would be handcuffed after I protested severely. My family member came vouched for me and seeing that the person was elderly they soft pedaled and told lies that I was an online fraudster and I claimed to be working with the online store, a call was put to a police officer known by my family member who then spoke with Officer Okah James. After about an hour with the 2 officers they said since they had spoken with a superior officer they would let me go if I paid 10,000 naira for fuel. Seeing no headway we had to part with some money, before I was let off after I had spent over 3 hours. I can only imagine what would have happened if could not speak up or I was some uneducated persons who had no form of identification, worst still if I had no money to settle them. I feel sad for Nigeria, the very people who should protect and defend us are those who abuse and intimidate us. This is what you get even when you’re law abiding and dutifully serve your country.
NB: For record purpose I was lucky enough to have voice recordings for some of the events.

My questions and the posers that arise are these...
i. Is the Nigerian police allowed to indiscriminately violate your privacy without a warrant as in the case of my phones been searched?
ii. Is it legal for the police to hold you in their custody and refuse you a right to make a phone call and do they have such power?
iii. Do the police have the power to make a fictitious charge against you and ask you to pay bail for a charge they can’t prove?
iv. How is justice obtained for cases such as this where people are falsely accused and detained?
I hope this gets to the appropriate authorities and I can get answers as I am actually worried because I ply this route all the time and several Nigerians including myself are at the mercy of these men. All the same I love Nigeria and I am proudly one but the future needs us to speak out against evil and any form of oppression for the better tomorrow we all desire.
I was once a victims of this kind of act around September. I live in Benin republic and a friend of mine who work with oil and gas invited me for catch up.on Saturday morning after environmental my mate says he want to sell his necklace as he was loosing interest in bling bling. So we drove from Ajah to Yaba. We sold the necklace and on our way to the car my guy was receiving call on his phone and I was walking behind him so I heard a voice says Go shadow that guy nah Passport him dey use , in my mind I thought the are obtained boys so I walked up to my guy said hey dude some guys coming after you hang up and put your phone in your pocket; so a guy in mufti approached before he could do that and said am a police officer, he wanted to isolate my guy so I was getting close to them ,he noticed that and said to me Have we met before I said no but this is my guy you are talking to at that point them believe we are Yahoo boys.he asked my guy where do you work he said oil and gas,he showed him the ID he paid no attention to our ID. The police officer called his crew come come he have apprehend some oil bunkers here you guys vandalized pipeline etc within 20 seconds we have been tagged with different kind of crimes. They took our phones at he spot searched the vehicle do and seized our wallets ,we were then took to their office at Oj'uelegbe, with some other guys .what funny is that on the way to the office the police officer escorting a guy in Range Rover have decided to negotiate with the guy sharply and make detour (Naija Police dem no trust each others)at this point they started fighting we had to stop for awhile. Upon getting to their compound they took us to the last floor. Begins the armature investigation just like you have mentioned. So I started hearing slangs like take them to school; I was trying to imagine what that means but I couldn't figure it out so they took my guy out and came back after an hour so I was asked to go with another officer to school as well this is where I realized that school meant cyber cafe lol.i was asked to open facebook I refused then Yahoo email I logged in they saw my bank transaction alert their head begins to swell up saying wow your a reach man I said I sell cars so you don't expect my account to have petty cash transaction.the funny thing now is that in the email they have some keywords they are looking for. They put those words in the email search Columns "MTCN" Client, Credit Card, Payment, Job so many more I can't even remember lol. I'm an international business man of course I must have done plenty of transaction in that manner then he said chai you be baba I didn't talk. He printed my emails which violate my privacy on our way going back he said can you give us 3million I said why and for what says you be hustler nah baba I said I don't have that kind of money every balance and every alert you saw there belongs to customer. Unknowingly that they have ransack my guy and found the 86k necklace money , they have been brainstorming how that could become theirs. So many styles and accusation we couldn't reach agreement so we were going to be lock up and implicate us with Robbery and Bunkery. I and my guy had to think fast that we have to avoid been manipulated because this be people want money and they have seen it in your pocket and I see no pity in their face plus we have been forced to write statement base on their own tongue God I hate Nigeria police with passion. They took the 80k from us in fact they asked if our ATM are working unfortunately I don't use ATM if not Mehn them for withdraw my money and beat me to coma and throw me somewhere.

olawalepopoola:
I have patiently studied trendsn posts and comments on Nairaland. Most people here seems to rain abuses on Mohammodu Buhari for his economic style! The yorubas have a wise saying that goes thus "ti omode subu, yio boju weyin, be agba ba subu, yio wo iwaju" meaning "if a young person falls down, he will look at the back, if an elderly person likewise falls down he will look forward"
The interpretation of this is that we Nigerians (as far as I am concerned a young nation compared to the likes of UK, USA, Russia, Germany etc) must look back and ask questions that needed to be really and genuinely answered by those concerned.
We have continually blame our economic woes on President Mohammodu Buhari style of leadership. However I would like put forward the following questions to anyone that cares:
1. How much was a barrel of oil sold as of January 1st, 2014 until GEJ left government.
2. How much did we save during those days of surplus.
3. How much did PMB met the sale of oil
4. Did the crushing of Naira against Dollars started during PMB's regime.
5. Did we ever challenged our government to tell us how much was in our coffers during GEJ's government.
These and many other questions must be asked before we begin to blame Buhari for our economic misfortunes.
Joseph was the governor general in Egypt in the bible and there was seven (7) years of surplus. 6 years in the case of Ebele Jonathan. While Joseph saved for the days of recession, Jonathan was busy sharing the lots and jeopardising the future of our unborn children! #dasukigate.
This is just my personal view!
I think the missing $20B is from the reserve.
RomanceRe: 5 Reason Why Some Men Prefer Ashawo by seunt4ut(m): 11:15am On Dec 24, 2015
Ologogoro:
My girlfriend asked me why some men prefer prostitutes
to homely girls. after a brain cracking session i was able
to give her five reasons why i think some men prefer the
women of low virtue. she couldn’t help it as she laughed
her guts out. I felt i should share these reasons here.
Before i do that, let me first of all let you know this
shocking truth;
80% of women are prostitute. It only depends if they are
WILD prostitutes or DOMESTIC prostitutes. The
wild ones are the ones that stands in the hotels for
commercial sex trade while the domestic ones are the so-
called girlfriends we keep at home with the false
impression that we have a decent clean babe all to
ourselves, but unfortunately when we are away they
sneak out to have sex with other guys and sugar daddies,
now tell me how are they different from the roadside
prostitute. My brothers, it is the same thing o. So
whether you admit it or not if your wife sleeps around
with Chief when you are not in town, then you have a
domestic prostitute in your house. So don’t judge other
men who sleep with the wild prostitutes in hotels because
you are in their shoes too.
now the 5 reasons some men refer prostitutes are;

1. A prostitute does not expect you to remember her
birthday, not to talk of buying her gifts. You don’t also
have to take care of her responsibilities like buying her
body cream, paying for her hair do, etc. Yet you still
enjoy maximum sex for a little fee which cannot be
compared to the expenses we spend on our so-called
clean babes. A friend of mine said his girlfriend won’t let
him touch her or even talk to her because he didn’t give
her a particular amount of money she requested. If this
young man must give her that money before he would
touch her then what is the difference between her and the
prostitute out there?

2. You don’t need to remember the safe period of
prostitutes because non of them would come back telling
you they are pregnant.

3. Prostitutes won’t compel you to get married to them
as the last thing on their mind is marriage.

4. Believe it or not, prostitutes are more disease free
than the so-called clean babes. This is becos every man
thinks her job is risky so there is need to protect himself
with a condom and at the end 100 men may sleep with
her but with a condom but with the so-called decent
clean and homely babes, Emeka thinks she is decent so he
doesn’t need a condom, tomorrow Kalu will think the
same and do it with her again without using a condom
and Alhaji will also think she is decent and safe so he too
goes without a condom and at the end she has 100 men
who have slept with her without condom yet she still
parades herslef as the homely, decent, clean, mummy’s
pet babe, and the cycle continues. What a shame!

5. A prostitute does not expect you to satisfy them, they
would do anything to satisfy you and make you come for
them again unlike the clean homely babes who expect you
to take them to cloud nine while they only lie on their
backs and spread their legs like frozen chicken.
Now, with the afore-mentioned reason, why won’t men
go for prostitutes, tell me.
Merry Xmas and happy new year in advance
Boy you mean oo lol spreading legs like frozen chicken. In addition to that. Prostitute don't do drama , you get what you paid for! And the one that blend with you on that night will give you more than you ever asked for.

I had bought two vehicles in the past, both being tokunbos. First car was an 04 Accord, second, an 08 Acura TL. Both cars performed flawlessly for several months after buying them and somehow, this created in me, a false sense of safety going into the purchase of this used car, a 2008 VW Passat V6 4Motion. My Acura TL got stolen and I needed a replacement quickly as my work involve a lot of road trips. My budget wasn't high enough to replace the Acura so when I saw this used V6 Passat, I was intrigued. For me, it represented power and comfort and I decided to buy it.

Naturally it was advertised as first body, no fixes to be made, bla bla bla. I had a long phone conversation with the seller and we extended our communication to Whatsapp, where he sent me more images of the vehicle. We settled on a price and that weekend I went to see it. This is the point where my trust in the seller and in the car itself had me commit my first big blunder.

When going to inspect a used vehicle, go with an auto technician that specializes in that brand of vehicle, not just any mechanic

I went to inspect the vehicle with a mechanic friend who sadly, is a Honda specialist. He had worked with me in my Honda and Acura days and I wrongly assumed he was qualified enough to perform routine checks on this VW Passat in other to certify the car worthy. Of course he drove it, over rough and smooth roads, tested horns, wipers, lights and checked tires briefly. He told me the only thing he noticed was that the shocks needed replacement, said engine was okay and transmission was smooth. Shocks weren't major issues I felt, and concluded it was safe enough to buy.

Always, always, get a used car raised and get that specialist mechanic to go underneath for a thorough inspection. Where possible, remove the front tyres and check the suspension and engine bay extensively. Know what components are bad, what would need instant replacements so you know just how much more money you'd be putting in after buying it (if you'd still be buying it). A TEST DRIVE IS NOT ENOUGH

My friend said shocks were bad. If only he knew.

Since buying the vehicle, the following parts have had to be replaced: shocks (all four), two front brake discs (each costs 15,000), ball joints, hubs, linkage, tyre rods, shafts, camber, the beam (a 25,000 component) and being a four wheel drive, the propeller pad. Total cost? N158,000 including labour.

But my worries were far from over.

Never, never ignore any warning lights on a used vehicle. Never.

In the pictures the seller provided, there was a warning light for the steering. When I saw the vehicle too, it always flashed after ignition and disappeared after a few seconds. Seller said it was because the battery was removed (oh, I changed the battery too, 20,000 aside the 158k). That the Passat works like that. I went online but couldn't find anything definitive. He convinced me a simple scan would clear it if I was too concerned.

But just two days after paying for the vehicle, on my way home the car broke down. That warning light turned red and gear refused to move from P to D. Not even N. It was embarrassing because it happened at a narrow, but busy corner and I'd blocked off the road completely. Car finally entered N briefly and was then pushed to a corner. It happened around 10:20 pm and there was little I could do except pay some guys 5,000 to secure it till day break.

I contacted some guys the next day who charged 15,000 to run a scan and clear the error. But the error could not be cleared. That's because the car had a much deeper problem. The steering rack had a hole, caused by the propeller, caused by broken pads. And so a search for a steering rack began.

It was not found in Port Harcourt and the only one seen in Aba was not a direct match for the car. It had to be ordered from Lagos. The guy who had it in Aba set a price of N60,000 for it but the 'ordered' one from Lagos, according to the men doing the ordering, cost 95,000. According to them, the rack itself costs 80,000. Cost of delivery, 5,000. Cost of 'programming' the new steering, 10,000. I did my best to bring the price down without success. When a parts dealer knows you've got no choice and your can't can't move without his part, you're in trouble.

Above all, the mechanic who would install the new steering rack said he'd charge nothing less than 20,000. "Oga this car na big car, the work na big work. Na one full day I go use loose the steering comot, then put the new one. I no go take 10,000. No, I no go take 15,000."

So I paid 80,000. The steering came in after 4 days of stories, was installed and I paid the balance of 15,000. Then paid stubborn mechanic his 20,000.

Add this 115 to the 158 and the 20 and its about 300,000 spent already. If anyone had used all of his money to buy a used vehicle and discovered these problems, certainly you'll be parking that 'new' car for a long, long time.

But there's a reason I am posting this this morning. Yesterday was when I regained possession of the car. Drove it briefly. Everything seemed fine. On my way to the office, it broke down again. Luckily it wasn't far from a garage where VW cars are repaired. Mechanic checked. "Oga, your propeller pad don scatter." So the propeller pad that cost 8000 didn't last a full day of use. Called stubborn mechanic. "Oga, no be my fault. Na the boy wey bring the part. Where you dey? I go come tomorrow," (even though the time was around 1pm).

This morning, someone has proceeded to Onitsha with 14,000 to look for the pad because it too wasn't found in PH and Aba.

If only I had gone with a VW specialist for inspection, raised the car and done a thorough assessment. If I hadn't perceived that warning light as insignificantly as the seller made it seem, I wouldn't be in this position. Of course, I regret buying the car but it's too late.

So if you are in the market for a used car, take these precautions and save yourself the expense and arguments with stubborn mechanics and spare parts dealers.

[Note: This post is for the purpose of informing others, not eliciting sympathy for my misfortune. It already contains admission of my naivete in the purchase of a used car. It would be unwise to abuse or insult me further. ]
With my vast experience in tokunbo automobile VW products are not advisable to buy in tokunbo.

Problem like this is very common in used car. For someone to forgone its car ; there must have been some reasons. I bought a sienna from Benin rep after three days of driving it the vehicle steering rack started linking oil ,few weeks after that the gear box had to be replaced etc. Another experience was last month when I recommend Honda Civic 2008 naija used ,advertised on Nairaland to a friend of mine ,he contacted the seller and they reach agreement after three days of driving the car the hybrid battery stopped working , like play like play he had to replace it and the cost of the battery is 400k Naira. I felt bad when he told me.

Am not really good at writing story my sh*t is go straight to the point.
If you attend university and you are calling the present Nigeria president dull than you need to examine your brain cos Nigeria president is secretly planning something massive for you Nigerians but am surprise people are not seeing it, I'm a student of business management chicago, though the 1st quarter will not be funny at all but I bet u if only Nigerians can support their president and bear with him your country will be among the greatest in the world. I like Nigerian cos I do have them as friends back home and most of them are good people.
What am I talking about. The problem of your country is dollar and the greatest problem is importation of goods. Stop importation of goods and spend your naira within your country...just wait for 1 and half year and your problem is solve. "study the development and behaviour of china" that's the secret behind your president plan
That's exactly what this present administration is doing. Agitators are those who financially benefiting from Importation, they claimed to be the back bone of the economy a statement that make a lot of sensible people laugh because I never heard where buy and selling is the economy strength. In the next 2yrs this administration will flush out the inferior goods that flock our country and promote locally produce goods made from local raw materials. The simple arithmetic of economy is that when you bring more than you send out your currency will struggle.

Yes, we don't intend to get the money back and we've also instructed them to sell the car deposited for so we're not hindering their business whatsoever, i personally went there with him after he made deposit to clear any form of rift and both parties agreed there is no car kept for us.

Hence, the agreement that we will come back whenever we're ready and that was the reason why I created this thread.

Please what can you advice, do you have anyone that intend to purchase a car around? The 50k can be yours if you get anyone that is ready to balance the deposit.
Of course I have car buyers everyday. The challenges is that Is this Dealer will have the type of cars my client want and favorable price etc. But give me his Car stand and park name, I can try when I reach park todag

Apologise if i tag you wrongly, but i find you to be a good man that can render his help.

Please help me copy dealers that might be interested in this.

Thanks.
I live in Cotonou and I make cars deal. It will be hard to get that money back cause the Lebanese will insist to buy the same car you deposit for. Thou if you are lucky to meet a good non temperamental Lebanese he can negotiate the deposit and give you half or 70% of your deposit back.
