Now that Buhari is here, and we still have issues like this. What have we changed?. There needs to be a difference with the "progressives". But I can see APC supporters saying he deserved it. What is bad should be bad, no matter where it is coming from. We want Buhari to change everything and we don't want to change. |
What for?. He could not even conduct elections in 4 years. He can't even pay salary. He is creating more problems for him self. How big is Osun state having 66 local governments. |
Press release from Kashamu's media aide, Austin Oniyorkor. Read below... The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) this morning (Saturday,23rd May, 2015) at about 4:30am surrounded the Lekki Phase 1, Lagos residence of Prince Buruji Kashamu to allegedly effect his arrest following a purported extradition request from the US. This latest onslaught is a confirmation of the alleged plot to illegally abduct him in spite of the pending suit against this illegality. As a matter of fact, the court has ordered parties in the matter including the NDLEA to maintain status quo until judgment is delivered on Wednesday 27th May 2015. We have confirmed that they do not have a warrant of arrest, just as the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice has said that it did not give any order to carry out this illegality. We have confirmed that this illegality is being designed and executed by Chief Bode George whose wife is the Director General of the NDLEA, all in a bid to score cheap political points. We urge all well meaning Nigerians to prevail on NDLEA, Chief George and his wife to toe the path of the rule of law and follow due process. Nigeria is not a Banana republic! The United States(US) being the bastion of democracy, the rule of law and due process should not lend itself to this kind of illegality. Signed Austin Oniyokor, Media Aide to Kashamu |

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola| credits: File copyA former Head of Service in Osun State, Mr. Segun Akinwusi, has blamed alleged financial recklessness by the administrationof Governor Rauf Aregbesola for its inability to pay workers for over six months.Akinwusi said this in an interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on Tuesday. .He said that rather than blaming President Goodluck Jonathan, Aregbesola should blame himself for plunging the state into financial crisis. The former HOS admitted that allocation accruing to the state had reduced, but stressed that this was not an enough reason to deny workers of their wages for more than half of a year.Akinwusi, who contested the last governorship election against Aregbesola on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, said that the administration borrowed much more than its ability to repay. He said, “They are quick to blame Jonathan for non-payment of workers for six months. Only the naive canbelieve them. Are they not getting allocation from Abuja? They are collecting allocation on monthly basis.“They borrowed so much. They borrowed more than their capacity to repay. The governor appointed an average of two commissioners for each ministry; they called the second commissioners special advisers but they all get the same salaries with the commissioners.“They should not blame Jonathan for their inability to pay, they should blame themselves. They are reckless. They borrowed twice the value of road projects they are executing. Work has since stopped now.”He said that there was no hope in sight for the people of the state, alleging that the current administration in the state had mortgaged the future of the state.According to Akinwusi, it will take the state almost 25 yearsto recover from the financial crisis it has been plunged into“by the recklessness of this administration.”Efforts to speak to Aregbesola’s media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, proved abortive as calls put across to him were not picked and a text message sent to him was yet to be responded to at the time of filing this report. However, the governor had blamed the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government for the dip in theoil revenue accruing to the nation. He said this was the reason the wage bill was more than the allocation received from the federal level.Aregbesola said, “The PDP-led Federal Government has foisted double tragedy on the people through lack of transparency in oil revenues.Copyright PUNCH.All rights reserved.
