The Spectranet branded Huawei E5172bs-925 router is designed for Spectranet solely which makes the firmware locked to there network only... so the workaround here is if you can successfully update your device to a universal firmware, then you can use any other network but updating it is where the issue is currently. I'm presently working on it, if I get a breakthrough, would let you know. Thanks

Second, for where to stay, I recommend the Guesthouse at Haie Vive, it's close to the airport, and there are many fun spots on that street too.

It's better to use ID card to cross over, but if you want to use passport (like me) then be ready to pay for the stamping, especially when it is your first time.
