The 2017 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) Orientation Course has been scheduled to commence on Wednesday, 26th July, 2017 nationwide.

Highlights of the exercise are as follows: a. Registration/verification:
Wednesday 26th July – Thursday, 27th July, 2017 b. Registration Cut-off date: Midnight of 27th July, 2017 c.
Closing ceremony: Tuesday, 15th August, 2017

Meanwhile, all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) of the 2017 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) are to advised to watch out for information on the printing of call-up letters shortly.

PCMs are advised to report promptly to the Orientation camps in their states of deployment at the camp addresses indicated in their call-up letters. Management wishes all Prospective Corps Members safe journey to their respective states of deployment and a hitch-free Orientation course.” The printing of Call-up letters will commence in the evening of Friday, 21st July, 2017.

Nigerian singer, Eniola Akinbo better known as Niyola , in a recent Instagram post educated her female fans on what it entails to be a Queen .
The Empire Mates Entertainment first lady shared a nude photo in which she covered her breasts with her hands and wrote a lengthy post educating her fans on what it takes to be a queen .
She said, “A Queen is a kingmaker , not just the wife of a king o ! she bears the princess and prince who is to become king and SHE prepares him to be king all his life . ”
Niyola further said it was not Queenly to have an unbridled tongue and a lousy attitude. She stressed that toughness should not make you rude , rather it defines you as classless!

A 57-year-old man, David Oluwatoba, is to spend the next fourteen years in prison for raping his 4-year-old step-daughter (names withheld)

Justice Toyin Abodunde of an Ado-Ekiti High Court held that the prosecution has proved the case beyond every reasonable doubt on the weight of evidence before the court.
The judge held that the prison term started counting from the day of conviction.

The incident happened on 12th August, 2013 at Odo Usi Street, Awo Road, Igede-Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area while the convict was first arraigned in court on 27th November, 2015.

Exhibits tendered to convict Oluwatoba include photographs, medical report on sexual assault, statement of the accused at the police station, among others.The convict is married to two wives including the mother of the victim who is the second wife. The victim was a product from a previous marriage before her mother married the convict.

On the day of the incident, the victim’s mother was not at home and the convict had a knowledge of the girl after bathing her.

The mother on arrival discovered blood stains on the victim’s cloth and also the bleeding from her private part which prompted her (the mother) to raise alarm.

The incident was reported to the Igede-Ekiti Police Divisional Headquarters and the convict was promptly arrested.


A source said: “We are not happy that he was jailed but this will serve as a lesson and deterrent to other elderly people raping minors in the society. It is difficult to explain why a man at his age married to two women would condescend to having carnal knowledge of his stepdaughter.”
