Does anyone know how long a UK PCC takes? Saw on their site that it's about 12 days but a friend waited over 50 days

I applied by post, when they recieved my mail they sent an email acknowledging receipt and said processing time is 12 working days but it took less than that (received 12th Oct, dispatched 20th Oct). I paid for £9 extra for international courier, haven't received it yet but it's in transit.
Is it possible your friend didn't pay for any courier? Normal mail can take long.

Not necessarily biological, can be by adoption too just that it needs to be legal I believe. I have an adoptive sister who would have loved to claim points from our PR sister but no legal adoption documents

The NOC I found; NOC 3112, said they need to complete the MCC qualifying exams (under the employment requirements) My friend has not completed the MCC qualifying exams and is not licensed to practice medicine in Canada. Is the EE route still possible? How can they go about this please?

Yes he can go via FSW. His NOC will be 3112 except if he's a consultant then it's 3111. No need for licensing exams, those are written there in the description to give an idea of what is usually needed to practice in the profession. He will only need to take the exams once he gets there, if he intends to practice. However his degree can only be evaluated by the MCC, not by WES and the others.

Please has anyone done PCC recently in Abuja? They are telling us it's 20k at their office "because they have to send it to Lagos". Is this how it is now? I budgeted 10k only.

My bank charged N312 per $ for the 1st two and then N290 per $ for the ECA which I ordered 1 week ago. Approx N180k altogether

1. When creating an account on physiciansapply, which surname do I use because my MBBS Cert bears my maiden name while my passport bears my new surname bearing in mind svr to my school later?

2. I have read the post by drcynthia, sometime in 2019. Do we still need to notarize our MBBS cert copy and copy of our passport before sending? Can any notary public serve abi the specific ones listed in one of the sister threads?

3. Do we still send our packages via courier to MCC or are there better ways now especially via soft copies? Also, pay for courier for delivery of ECA to Nigeria?

4. Just to confirm, Since most of our medical colleges are located in campuses different from the main campus site (mine for one is), the svr should be to our medical school right?

1. Use your current surname as you will need to verify your identity. Submit proof of change of name along with your SVR application
2. No need to notarize your certificate but you will need to notarize a copy of your passport and your certified identity document. You will get instructions for this when you request SVR
3. For the meantime due to COVID they are accepting soft copies but they said they will require the hard copies to be sent sometime in the future
4. I don't remember needing to specify this or giving a particular contact, they check it against the world directory of medical schools so maybe check there. I would assume it's the medical school that will be listed not the main campus

If you're talking about the question asked when filling your profile, they stated there that it's for statistical purposes and won't affect your score. Just fill it truthfully and move on. Use your teaching, you already have the experience so I believe it will count

I am no expert, but what seems to make sense it to go ahead and evaluate your current degrees and submit your profile (after ensuring your simulated scores are correct as others have mentioned). If your scores fall short of the draws between now and when your masters is done, then you can evaluate it and update.

Oh I see, I'm glad you were finally able to open your physiciansapply account. Still try your naira card when paying for SVR and ECA because I just paid for my ECA a few days ago and it still worked again despite saying it needs to be a credit card. No I didn't notarize my degree certificate, only my identity document form and passport copy as per their instructions and it was accepted.

There is no problem here, this has been answered here severally... work experience while studying counts as long as it was a paid job.

Oh I see. I wonder why especially if you're using a dollar card so the limit shouldn't be the issue. You may consider some of the other means mentioned earlier e.g Barter I think it's called

Thanks for your response. I'm actually at the point of creating a physician apply account and I've tried using both a naira/dollar debit card but it keeps returning the message- Payment failed.

Hi there, have you already tried to use your card? I used my naira debit card to order SVR (even though they asked for credit card) and it worked.
