Mine still shows the same for both, as if nothing has changed. I'm guessing it will change after counterfoil is issued. Your best bet is to call, or get GCMS notes. Solidcitizen: |

Hello Nairaland fam! My last post here was somewhere in part 10 I believe. I had to stop checking due to mental fatigue from waiting for IRCC. Glad I'm finally here with a good story. All the info I learnt about this was from Nairaland so I had to come back. We got PPR Family of 3 initially, then 4 COR Nigeria VO - Accra VO then RROC Decision to travel - there was no decision, my husband was not for it but I felt a push to apply that I can't explain, so I went ahead. I'm the PA and the only thing I needed from him for points was either IELTS or WES, he did IELTS. My IELTS - September LSRW 9, 8, 9, 7.5 (thereabouts, overall 8 or 8.5) My ECA (MCC) - October His IELTS - October 2020 CRS 484 (15 sibling points) Submitted profile 12th Oct 2020 ITA - 14th Oct 2020 Upfront Medicals - late October PCCs - Me: UK, UAE and Nig. Spouse: USA, UAE and Nig (UAE PCC showed us pepper. I did mine easily online but husband's had to be done at the embassy because he lived there before 2011, they suffered me with my pregnancy, I had to break down and cry before they sorted us out) AOR - 12th Dec 2020 Medicals passed/BIL - Jan 2021 Biometrics done - 21st Jan 2021. It showed in my profile but status said "we have not received your fingerprints" all through until ADR 2. Called IRCC in Feb 2021, found out my VO was Accra. GCMS in April - Eligibility Review required, others not started ... .. . Had my baby in May 2021, informed them in Jan 2022 via webform, received ADR for her documents a few days later. Sent her docs online except passport which was not yet ready, included an LOE that passport and medicals would be late. I also included updated POF upfront to avoid them asking, we couldn't afford to be asked for 6 months bank statements for POF. (Side note: We had already spent POF but we recouped and returned it to the same account initially submitted, then continued transactions for a few days, less than a week and printed just that one page of transactions excluding the inflow. Didn't redo bank reference letter or anything else, just that one page of transactions. Wasn't sure it would fly but I guess it did. Not advocating for this! It's just what I did.) Sent baby's passport copy via webform 4th March, received ADR 5th March for PCC, schedule A and Remeds. Whole family did remeds (upfront for baby) 23rd March. Sent medical info sheets via webform 24th, and other ADRs 27th. Remeds passed, ADR changed to NA - 28th March Baby added to application - 1st April. Remeds passed date changed to 1st April. Also received ADR 2 (POI, proof of sibling name change) ADR 2 submitted 1st April. Acknowledgement email + ADR changed to NA - 3rd April. Biometrics status changed to "completed 14th Dec" (wrong date) Called IRCC 5th May. Received ADR3 an hour later - Baby's passport (previously sent via webform). Resubmitted same day. ADR 3 acknowledged 6th May, profile update - we are reviewing ADR PPR - Sat 7th May (dated 6th May) Profile still says "we are reviewing ADR". Glad to be nearing the end of this journey. 15 Likes |

Hi all. Applied on 8th Nov for my younger sister... got a decision today Dec 3rd - it was rejected, letter says - I am not satisfied you will leave Canada at the end of your stay... due to "family ties in Canada and home country" and "travel history". She's 17, just finished high school, and has a sister who's a PR in Canada. Has also previously been to UAE, Tanzania, Mauritius and one other country I think, on holiday. The travel history aspect of the refusal letter confuses me. I'd appreciate any insight into how to correct our next application. For example, will enrolling in university here (which she already plans to do) help the situation at all? Any other tips? |

Good day ednut1, I hope you're well and thank you for all your contributions to this forum. I know this post is from a while ago but I was wondering, is there any way I could get more information about this route? I've been doing research on this. If it's possible to contact the person who wrote this, or any other way to get further info especially on the aspect of starting a business. Thank you ednut1: |

Openedheavens:(Edit: Apologies! Just realised we also had points for sibling in Canada which of course made a big difference. By all means evaluate your wife's degree if you need the extra points. The rest of the advice still stands though, especially this - start bit by bit if funds are tight. Good luck) I guess you've simulated your scores already? I'm in the same position as you are, albeit a bit ahead in the process - applied at the end of last year, aged 30, medical doctor. My IELTS score was high (LRSW 9,9,8.5,8 ). After simulating scores we realised we would need only either IELTS or WES evaluation for hubby's certificate, not both. So he wrote only IELTS and we had a score of 482. Something to consider when funds are tight and you need to save whatever you can, as was the case with us. You should get high enough points, no need for your wife to be PA as others have said. Funds were really tight for us esp with the high cost of MCC evaluation. Funds were tight, was gift deed 100% (no issues with this as per GCMS notes). So start with the bare minimum you need to create a profile ie your own IELTS and ECA from MCC, then add the rest as time goes on. Good luck! 1 Like |

Openedheavens:You only need to evaluate your certificate for MCC as far as I know. Not your transcript. I only paid to evaluate one credential, not two. You first do source verification and then evaluation for just your certificate (they might ask for your transcript but you don't have to do a separate evaluation for it). |

Hello all, Please, can anyone who has used Barter by Flutterwave to pay CAD recently give me an idea of the exchange rate that was used? I.e. how much CAD you paid, what you were charged in USD and how much that was in Naira? (This is urgent please ) Thank you EDIT: Not needed anymore but let me put the info here in case others have the same question. Paid CAD$2370.78 (*my payment was not EE- or PR-related) Was charged USD$1875.47 Which was at a rate of N480 to $1 so N900,225.6 That translates to a CAD to NGN rate of N379.72 to $1 or CAD$1.26 to USD$1 I was skeptical at first but the rate seems fair 4 Likes 4 Shares |

maziude:A parent of a citizen/PR doesn't need an authorisation letter, just has to travel with proof of the relationship amongst other required docs. I think if a student then the letter is required. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/immediate-family.html 1 Like |

spicykev:I had a similar issue though not exactly the same. Had to do name change during NYSC for my BVN because they wouldn't release my alawee without it. I did NIN with husband's surname as well to be able to change the BVN. So currently my NIN and bank accts carry my husband's surname, but my passport has my own surname. I applied for PR with my own name which is still on my passport, and submitted a one and the same affidavit. I don't plan to change my name on my passport until I absolutely have to which will probably be when I need to renew my passport in a few years' time, since they will need to link it to my NIN (I would have preferred to continue using only my maiden name but apparently they won't remove husband's surname unless you're divorced ) My advice to you, if you haven't yet changed your name, go ahead with your maiden name and save yourself the stress. After you become a PR you can change if you like, at least it'll be at your leisure and you won't need to prove anything to anyone at the time. If you decide you want to just change it now on your passport, then you can submit your affidavit of change of name as proof of your previous names and it will be fine. |

NaijaCanadian28:Thank you for your response. Just wondering whether you know anyone that applied with their COPR? Because IRCC has been acting funny lately. I can't find much info on it online but one person posted on canadavisa that they applied with COPR and got a response "we can't grant you exemption because you don't have a valid travel document such as visitor visa or eTA" or something of the likes. Maybe they needed to see an actual copy or something With regards to your own situation, there was someone who had a similar issue on the visit visa thread and ended up emailing again and got the exemption for their sister. |

Hello everyone, quick question please in case anyone has an idea. For someone who has a COPR and a sibling in Canada and wants to travel, would they be able to apply for exemption? Or would they need to apply for a visit visa in order to qualify for exemption? I would appreciate any insight into this. |

I remember reading that they use the contact details listed on the world directory of medical schools website. Here is that of unilorin: https://search.wdoms.org/home/SchoolDetail/F0001283 Maybe you could check to make sure that that's the same one they're using? Hope this helps and maybe someone that went to the same uni can chip in. |

DRiches:As a vet he might need to use a different body to evaluate (for example, medical drs must evaluate using MCC), might not be WES, please do some research on that. Also check the same for nurses... For the other questions please go thru page 1 in full and you will get all the info you need. 1 Like |

bishopbusayo1:Part of the criteria for applying for EE is that you should not be planning to live in Quebec. And yes they do have their own immigration program. Look at this link under "Where you can live in Canada". https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers.html#where I think people do get PR through EE and go and live there, not sure what the consequences are (maybe when you apply for citizenship they can use it against you? Or you may have to prove why you moved there or something)... just speculating sha. Maybe ask on the living in Canada thread, there maybe people that have done it 1 Like |

Mmamaroon:Did this and it worked, God bless you. Now I noticed that in my husband's personal history I forgot to mention his NYSC year. I can't even understand how that happened. NYSC overlapped with something else, so after I put that I guess I kind of forgot about it. Is it necessary to raise a webform to correct this mistake? It's mentioned on his LinkedIn profile. Anyone with any knowledge/experience regarding this, pls advise |

My sister has also sent an email for my mum who applied and did biometrics in February but nothing yet, I'll let you know how it goes. |

Bisunique25:This has been answered here before, the answer was that you are married, so apply as married. Your marriage is legally recognized in Nigeria, you can actually legalize it in court, customary court I believe. People have applied with their religious organisation certificates. I personally applied with my nikkah certificate sha so I guess we'll see how it turns out. 8 Likes |
