Bridget has been married for 15 years with five daughters and her husband's family has been on her to give them a male child or she would be thrown out. This pressure forced her to sleep with another man who got her pregnant and gave birth to a son. But now, she is worried her husband could get to know that the child is not his. Read her story here: "My name is Bridget, a 37-year-old woman. I have been married for 15 years with six children but I am presently in a very serious dilemma. The cause of my predicament is the fact that my newborn son does not belong to my husband, Chike, who has been over the moon since the child came three months ago. I know what I did is an unforgivable sin but I was forced into it by my mother-in-law whose insistence that I give her grandson as if it is in my power to do so. I already had five daughters and the pressure from my in-laws and even my husband to have a male child had been building and got to a crescendo when they told me openly that they would marry a new wife for Chike so that she would give him a male child. My mother-in-law was so vocal about the issue that she always made it open that I was not a complete woman since I could not have a male child. The insults, name calling, and abuses I got from her got me so demoralized and shattered and my husband who should have defended me, took sides with them and made life a hell for me. I had prayed, fasted and underwent assignments to no avail. That was when my closest friend, Oluchi, advised I got a man to get me pregnant since it seemed my husband was not able to father a child. I know I made the mistake of accepting Oluchi's advice. She was the one that introduced Richard to me and we started a secret affair. About six months into the affair, I got pregnant. When I went for a scan, the result showed that I was carrying a male child. Though I was happy, I knew I could not tell Richard I was pregnant for him. When I was three months gone, I told Richard I was no longer comfortable with the relationship because my husband was becoming suspicious, so we had to call it quits. Chike and his mother, meanwhile, were not enthusiastic about my pregnancy, saying I was carrying the same species that I always gave them and on my part, I did not tell them the result of the scan. When I put to bed, they were so ecstatic that they did not notice that my son was fair while Chike is dark and I am not too fair either. His mother attributed it to the fact that they have fair people in their family. As we are preparing to take the child to the church for dedication, I am in great fear because Oluchi called me the other day to say that Richard told he suspects my son belongs to him. I am really scared that he could come and make trouble for me and reveal the secret. I am sure he could demand a DNA test. What should I do? #Palmgossip |

WOMAN BATHED WITH ACID AFTER ACCEPTING MARRIED MAN'S OFFER A 25-year-old woman, Ogochukwu Nwosu, is in a critical condition at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Surulere, Lagos State, after she was bathed with substance suspected to be acid. It was learnt that Ogochukwu was at Ilasa bus stop, on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, when a man allegedly dropped from a motorcycle and poured acid on her.He was said to have jumped back on the motorcycle and fled the scene. The victim, who sustained burns on her face, neck, breasts, among other parts of her body, was reportedly rushed to LUTH by passersby. Ogochukwu, who spoke with a PUNCH Metro correspondent from her hospital bed, accused one Mrs. Chidi, the wife of the man who had proposed marriage to her, as the culprit. She alleged that Mrs. Chidi had been threatening her on the telephone and through text messages immediately she learnt of her husband’s intention to marry her (Ogochukwu). She said she had turned down Mr. Chidi’s proposal because he was married, adding that the latter persisted. “On Thursday, I had closed from Computer Village where I work. Around 8pm, when I reached Ilasa bus stop, I dropped off the bus. “I was about to cross to the other side of the road when a man dropped from a motorcycle and poured something on me. He immediately fled on the motorcycle. People came to my rescue and took me to the hospital. “I suspect Mrs. Chidi because she had been threatening me before the incident. And while I was on admission at the hospital, she called and spoke with my brother, saying that was just the beginning,” she added. Ogochukwu’s brother, Peter, said he recorded a part of the conversation with Mrs. Chidi on his mobile phone. Peter said he reported the incident at the Itire Police Division, adding that Mrs. Chidi was arrested and detained for two days before the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba. It was gathered that the police admitted the suspect to bail shortly after the matter got to the SCIID. PUNCH Metro learnt that counsel to the victim, Louis Nwaugbala and Anthony Obi, had already petitioned the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja, over the matter. A copy of the petition, obtained by our correspondent, read in part, “Sometime in 2012, one Mr. Chidi approached our client and started making advances to her and promised to marry her. But she vehemently refused the proposal. She told him that she was not interested in the marriage since he was already married. “Upon Mr. Chidi’s insistence of wanting to marry our client and even making preparations to visit our client’s family to formalise the marriage rites, our client advised Mr. Chidi to inform his wife of his plans to take our client as his second wife, since both of them will be cohabiting in the same house. “Immediately Mr. Chidi made his plans known to his wife, all hell broke loose as Mrs. Chidi started calling and persistently threatening our client’s life through phone calls, text and Whatsapp messages.” The petition alleged that the suspect threatened to wreak havoc before December 2016, the purported month of the traditional marriage between Mr. Chidi and Ogochukwu. It added that Ogochukwu was persuaded against reporting the threat to the police by Mr. Chidi, who allegedly promised to persuade his wife to accept the union. It said tragedy struck when the victim was attacked while she was returning from work on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Nwaugbala, the victim’s lawyer, said justice must be served in the case, adding that Ogochukwu must be flown abroad for plastic surgery by the suspect and her husband. “That is the only thing that can assuage the damage presently done to her. She should be flown abroad for treatment,” he added. When contacted, Mr. Chidi declined comment. He said, “I cannot speak with you, neither can my wife. The case is under investigation at the SCIID. Go and speak with the police at Panti; they are the ones investigating it. We cannot make any comment.” The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident. She explained that Mrs. Chidi was released on bail because she could not be directly linked to the attack. She said, “It was reported that the victim was bathed with acid by two men on a motorcycle. The victim alleged that she suspected the woman because she (the victim) is a girlfriend to Mr. Chidi and because she (victim) might likely marry the man, Mrs. Chidi might have planned the attack. “Mrs. Chidi was picked up, made to undergo investigation and the command could not get any clue linking her to the case for now. And to protect her right, she was granted bail. Investigation is still ongoing to unravel what actually happened. Anyone linked to the case will be duly prosecuted.” #PalmGossip #Palmchat

The The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commended President Buhari for reportedly saying that anyone who has another country should leave Nigeria. Buhari, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, while addressing Niger Delta stakeholders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said "We are determined to make life comfortable and affordable to all Nigerians. If anybody has a country to go to, let him go, we will stay here and salvage our country.” IPOB also expressed hope that Buhari will soon release their leader, Nnamdi Kanu and other members who were arrested for agitating for a Biafra nation. A statement jointly signed by Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, reads: “Buhari needs to come to terms with the fact that IPOB will not leave any part of Biafraland, from the plains of Idomal to the shorelines of Opobo Kingdom, to become a conquered territory like the Yoruba-owned Ilorin, which today is under a caliphate rule answerable to the Sultan of Sokoto and not the Ooni of Ife.” The group further stated that the Biafra movement is a train that cannot be stopped, no matter the opposition. IPOB also accused President Buhari of planning with Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, to delete the Radio Biafra page from the social media platform. #Palmnews |

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has finally spoken out concerning the controversial $2.2 billion allegedly distributed through the office of the National Security Adviser then headed by Sambo Dasuki. Dasuki has been in detention since December 1, 2015, with many of the arrested former officials under Jonathan reportedly confessing that they got a share of the fund from the former NSA’s office. Finally speaking concerning the scandal that has not been termed Dasukigate, Jonathan said it was not possible for the man at the centre to have stolen such a whooping amount under his government. Dasuki is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for being a major player in the alleged disbursement of the fund. According to reports, the fund was supposed to be used for the procurement of arms for the prosecution of the war against Boko Haram, but it was allegedly diverted. Premium Times reports that while speaking at the famous Oxford Union, Oxford United Kingdom, Jonathan said: “They said the National Security Adviser stole $2.2billion. I don’t believe somebody can just steal $2.2 billion. “We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army and so on and so forth and you are still saying 2.2 billion, so where did we get the money to buy all those things?” He said the issue was exaggerated and added: “Yes, there were some issues; yes, there are still corruption issues; but some of it were blown, I’d say exaggerated, and they give a very bad impression about our nation. “You cannot say the national security adviser stole $2.2billion. It is not just possible. Read more:www.palmchatnow.com

I saw this Facebook post the other day and found that this couple Anthony and Vanessa Igbinosun who started dating in 2006 and just got married in 2016. I was amazed oh. Honestly, I was inspired but I know the probability of such happening nowadays is close to zerogrin The guy is now an evangelist and lady is a medical doctor. Here's what the guy wrote on his wall: When you marry your bestfriend, life becomes an adventure. Don't make that mistake: don't settle for less. Don't get married to someone who you will discover tomorrow that they were not really the type of person you wanted to marry. Don't marry out of pity or guilt: marry out of purpose. Marry someone that you will not be afraid or ashamed to reveal your true self to. Adam and Eve were Unclad before each other and neither of them was ashamed. Marry someone who doesn't bore you. Marry someone whose primary joy comes from giving you joy. Don't marry someone who cannot be moved by your tears. Marry someone who can get angry with you and protect you with his own life at the same time. Marry someone you are attracted to. Marry God's best for your life and you will not regret it. — feeling blessed. Customers who lose money to fraudsters through the mobile money-driven Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) banking will be reimbursed by their banks, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said. The USSD Banking platform allows customers to transfer money to third party, buy airtime, open accounts, pay bills and book travels, among other services, using their mobile phones, but the level of customer protection is still below regulatory threshold. CBN Director, Banking and Payments Department, ‘Dipo Fatokun, said the apex bank reviewed the process of USSD deals and directed banks to allow their customers transacting through the platform to use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) instead of the last four digits on their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards. Banks are yet to perfect the security around the USSD transaction plan. They are not providing additional security, such as allowing PIN into the transaction process as against the current practice whereby customers rely on the last four digits of their ATM cards for transactions. This has resulted in many customers losing their money to fraudsters or people who have access to their ATM cards. Fatokun said until the banks are able to provide OTP or token to customers transacting through the USSD platform, they will bear the cost of any loss of funds through the process. CBN data showed that about N40billion transactions pass through the mobile money network monthly. This guys should stop playing Politics, We all know that is not possible! #Palmchat #Palmchat |
