Tho the 'Raggae Blues' singer has repeatedly turned down advances from the fan with the handle, Miss Songz, she has not stopped bombarding him with messages telling the popular singer, that she will find a way to locate his house.

Harrysong on his part has kicked off a campaign to save his manhood from the clutches of his stalker. He shared photos of their messages and the lady's picture, stating that she has already started looking for him around his estate as she closes in on her kill.. The singer wrote on his page;

There are conflicting reports as to who is in the early lead between Godwin Obaseki and Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the Edo Election.

As indigenes and residents of Edo State await the results of the keenly contested governorship election, there are contradictory reports as to which of the candidates is in early lead.
While Punch reports that Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Godwin Obaseki are too close to call in several local government areas, ThisDay reports that Obaseki is in early lead.
Contrary to the report of ThisDay, Independent Newspaper reports that Ize-Iyamu is currently in early lead as results from the election, which held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 trickle in.
While none of the reports have been confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Obaseki is said to be in early lead as a breakdown of results showed that in Edo North, comprising six local governments areas, APC reportedly won five of the six local government areas, except one in which they already had a lead.
ThisDay further reported that early results from Edo South also showed that Obaseki was leading in seven of the local government areas, including Oredo, that make up the district, but two were hotly contested.
However, Independent report points that unofficial results collated puts Ize-Iyamu in an early lead ahead of Obaseki.
The report further stressed that unofficial results obtained in different parts of the state showed the Obaseki is trailing Ize-Iyamu in majority of the polling units in the state.
In Edo Central, the PDP candidate was said to be leading in three out of the five local governments except Igueben, where the APC had a marginal lead, but was too close to call.

A middle-aged woman identified as Agnes on Sunday in Abakaliki lost the pot of rice she was cooking to thieves.



A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who visited Agnes’s residence behind Nnodo Secondary School, Amike-Aba on Monday reports that she was still in shock over the incident.

It took repeated appeals by the correspondent to make Agnes talk, as she maintained that her husband had barred her from speaking further on the issue to avoid negative attention to the family.

“I came back from a village-meeting late on Sunday and put the rice on fire so that my family could have their dinner and eat the remnant on Monday morning.
“This apartment, as you can see, has no kitchen so we cook in the space in front of the house, likewise other occupants of the building,” she said.

Agnes said that as she went inside her room to fetch some condiments, she was delayed by the attention she had to give to her crying child.
“I gave attention to my child who was crying and by the time I came out to continue cooking, the pot of rice had vanished, with the stove still enkindled.

“After I recovered from the shock, I started screaming which attracted my husband, family members and neighbours who were all as stupefied.
“When it was established that no occupant of the building took the pot, it dawned on us that the act was perpetrated by a thief who exploited the vulnerability of the improvised kitchen,” she said.

The woman declined further comments but her neigbour, Justin Mbam-Egbe, noted that the situation had re-awakened security consciousness among the occupants of the house.
“This is the first theft case we are experiencing and we will henceforth be security conscious to avert future occurrences,” he said.
A private security consultant in Abakaliki, Dr John Odikwa, blamed such incident on the current economic recession in the country.
“The country has degenerated to a level that people now steal pots of rice and soup and with the yuletide approaching, the society should be ready for serious security challenges.

“The Federal Government should take immediate measures to alleviate the sufferings of the people to prevent total breakdown of law and order,” he said.

Researchers claim having sex inspires spirituality and even belief in God.

According to the research, sex releases a ‘love hormone’ oxytocin not only promotes social bonding, altruism but also divinity – especially in men.

Researchers at Duke University, in North Carolina, say that sex could inspire a belief – or an increased belief – in God and religion.

The study published this week look at oxytocin a hormone which is often stimulated during sex, childbirth, and breastfeeding.

It also comes in medication form and is often used to help women in labour.

But in the study, men reported a greater sense of spirituality shortly after taking oxytocin and their feelings continued a week later.

According to a news website for the University, Duke Today, lead author Patty Van Cappellen, a social psychologist at the American University, said: ‘Spirituality and meditation have each been linked to health and well-being in previous research.

‘We were interested in understanding biological factors that may enhance those spiritual experiences.

A twenty-five year-old man, Matthew Iyede, has been stabbed to death by three friends due to a disagreement over a ‘girlfriend’ at Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

PUNCH reports that the incident occurred on Sunday morning at a popular bar, Blue Sea Restaurant and Bar, in Eku near Delta State University Abraka.

The victim died as a result of the injuries he sustained on his chest after he was stabbed several times.

Late Matthew Iyede was ambushed by armed youths alleged to have been led by one Ese Uku. Uku was alleged to have warned the victim to stay away from the woman, who was identified to be the
person Matthew had been dating.

The victim’s relative, Victor Iyede, confirmed the attack to Southern City News on the phone, claiming that his brother was killed over a woman he (Matthew) had been dating.

He said,
“I don’t reside in Eku. He was stabbed at a plaza close to Eku Town Hall. He was stabbed over a ‘girl’. Those involved are at large. Names of the suspected murderers have been submitted to the police.”
The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, Celestina Kalu, confirmed the incident when contacted, saying two of the suspects had been arrested by the police in Abraka.
“The vigilante group in collaboration with the police arrested two suspects in connection with the case. The names of the suspects are Kevwe Edward (21yrs) and Lucky Grant (19yrs). The suspects will be transferred to SCIIDC for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
She added that the corpse had been deposited at the Eku General Hospital pending further investigation by the police.

The kidney of a 23-year-old herdsman, Isa Hamman was removed by a doctor who mistook it for a tumour. The herdsman who is from Fufore Local Government in Adamawa state had a surgery conducted on him by a doctor in a private clinic in Yola. The doctor’s conduct has been described as unprofessional by a committee constituted by the ministry of health that investigated the incident, Vanguard reports.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, September 20, the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Fatima Atiku, said Governor Muhammadu Bindow has personally intervened in the matter.

She said Hamman was responding to treatment after he was referred to Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano. According to her, the governor personally took Hamman to the hospital and his kidney transplant would be conducted soon. A man, who promised to donate one of his kidneys to the victim, accompanied him to Kano for the transplant. The governor was said to have donated N5million for the treatment of the victim. Meanwhile, the medical doctor, Hassan Yakubu, who conducted the surgery has been arrested by the Adamawa state police for his alleged role in the removal of the kidney.

Confirming the arrest, the command’s spokesman, Othman Abubakar, said the doctor was interrogated by officers of the criminal investigations department of the command. The police said his arrest was to help with their investigations into the alleged theft of the kidney.

Nemesis finally caught up with two alleged female thieves, who specialized in robbing shops, supermarket, boutiques and restaurants in Akwa Ibom State under the pretence of wanting to buy goods. The suspects identified as Grace Ekpo and Mfon Daniel from Itiam Ikot Ebia, Uyo Local Government, were nabbed by some members of the public and handed over to men of the Akwa Ibom Police Command last Thursday, shortly after robbing a boutique located at No. 15 Ekpo Obot Street.
Narrating her ordeal, the sales girl Imaobong Isaiah said:"The two girls enter my shop on a pretence to buy from me but after picking all the costly female hand bags, shoes, men gens, hand watches and cloths worth forty-five thousand naira; instead of them to pay for what they have bought, they sent me to go and buy them drinks. So, I went to buy drinks for them at the nearby shop. As I returned, I met them making calls, and immediately their operational Keke man who was on a standby to pick them came and the went inside the Keke with all my cloths without paying. So, I tell them to give me my cloths, they refused. So, I started shouting, help! Thief! Thief! But the Keke man had already moved. As God would like it, luck ran out on them, the people around and people using car pursued them and caught them."

On interrogation, the suspects admitted to being involved in all kinds of robbery.
"When we entered people shop, anything you sale we will pack the most costly ones; after which we will asked you to get us water or send you on an errand, that will make us run away with the goods without paying for it. We rob women in Keke, we pick recharge card bags and anything that would fetch us quick money."

echnology giant, Samsung has advised consumers to stop using its Galaxy Note 7 and “immediately participate” in a replacement programme, following further reports of phones catching fire.
The call came after the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommended at the weekend that consumers stop using the smartphone and major airlines globally banned use during flights. Samsung issued a recall for Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in early September in 10 markets, including the US and South Korea. Defective batteries, which caught fire during charging and normal use, were apparently manufactured by Samsung SDI. Batteries made by its other supplier, Amperex Technology, have not faced the same issues. Samsung said it is now only using batteries made by Amperex for the Galaxy Note 7 and has ordered an additional four million as replacements, Yonhap reported. The Chinese firm, which also supplies batteries for Apple’s iPhones, is now the sole battery suppler for the Note 7. Samsung’s battery unit previously supplied about 70 per cent of the batteries for Note 7. The world’s largest smartphone maker reportedly was looking for a third battery supplier but hasn’t found one. As demand for the iPhone 7 models takes off, Samsung could face a supply crunch. With an estimated 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 units sold, analysts say the recall could cost Samsung as much as $5 billion in revenue. The smartphone was launched on 19 August. The company has lost $22 billion in market capitalisation as its share price has tanked 11 per cent since Friday – the largest two-day decline in eight years, according to Bloomberg. Corporate statement Samsung issued a statement for the Hong Kong and Macau markets, stating that, “we wish to re-emphasise that Galaxy Note 7s purchased in Hong Kong and Macau from authorized re sellers on or after 2 September are not affected by the issue as those batteries are provided by a different supplier”. It would be recalled that Samsung had earlier said that fewer than 500 Galaxy Note 7s sold in Hong Kong and Macau between 26 August and 1 September “may be affected by the battery issue”. It said a replacement programme is running and it “has been proactively contacting customers who may be affected”.

Three alleged thieves who specialized in stealing telecommunication mast batteries were nabbed yeesterday at Emenike street off Ngwa Road in Aba, Abia State and brutally beaten by angry mob.
The suspects were caught with 15 lister batteries which are the change over batteries that power the MTN mast. One of them have been identified as Bakassi. Police arrived the scene after the mob had administered street justice and took them to Cameroon road Police barracks.

Unity Bank Plc, yesterday sacked not less than 215 of its employees .According to information gathered from sources close to the bank, the workers were sacked for their inability to cope with the new ideas and strategy of the institution.
According to Vanguard, a source close to the bank said
About 200 new hires were said to have been recruited by the Bank to drive the transformation initiative began by the Management in the last one year while about 100 other staff were said to have been promoted recently. Meanwhile, some members of staff numbering about 215 have been allowed to go in an exercise that will enable the Bank realign its operation to pursue its long term growth strategy. However the affected staff were said to have exercised the option to resign while Management has approved severance package in line with the bank’s policy.”
Commenting on this development, industry source asserted that the exercise carried out by the bank was part of the hard choices that forward-looking organisations desiring optimum performance had to take from time to time to enable it deliver consistently on shareholders expectations.

MTN Group Limited, yesterday, disclosed plans to raise dollar denominated bond that would help it to pay for dividends, capital expenditure and the N330 billion ($1 billion) fine levy imposed to it by the Nigeria Communication, NCC.

The MTN has mandated Barclays Bank Plc, Bank of America Corp.’s Merrill Lynch, Citigroup Inc. and Standard Bank Group Limited to arrange a series of fixed-income investor meetings in the U.S. and the U.K. starting September 9, 2016. According to Reuters report, the MTN, which disclosed this in a statement, stated that the dollar-denominated bond offering “is expected to follow subject to market conditions.” MTN’s move to attract funding comes after the company reported its first-ever half-year loss this month, partly caused by an agreement to settle the fine with NCC. The subscriber base of 233 million didn’t grow during the six months through June, while MTN is struggling to repatriate 15.4 billion rand ($1.1 billion) tied up in its Iran unit. “Pre-dividend free cash flow won’t cover payments of dividends and the fine in Nigeria this year and in 2017,” Alexandre Dray, an emerging-markets credit analyst at Gimme Credit LLC in Tel Aviv, said in e-mailed comments. “Therefore, the company needs to raise new debt or equity to keep a comfortable liquidity position.” MTN issued a $750 million note in 2014 that matures in 2024, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The company sold a 1.25 billion rand bond in 2010 which matures in July next year. After reaching a record high in February, the yield on MTN’s dollar-denominated note has fallen as the carrier negotiated and finally successfully settled talks over its NCC fine. Having peaked at 7.11 percent on February 19, 2016, the note’s yield is now 4.81 percent and its spread to a similarly dated Treasury Bill has narrowed. MTN is due to pay an outstanding N280 billion of the NCC fine in six installments over the next three years. The first payment, which MTN Nigeria says it has already settled, was due on July 8, 2016. “The net proceeds of the issue of the notes will be used for capital expenditures, to pay down working capital facilities and general corporate purposes,” MTN said in a preliminary prospectus sent to potential investors. “We expect our annual capital expenditure in the medium term to increase in the coming years as we increase our capital expenditures in Nigeria and South Africa.” The wireless carrier will consider a higher full-year dividend than the forecast 7 rand-a-share “if operating conditions improve materially,” the company said August 5, 2016. MTN paid 13.10 rand a share in 2015, while the payout was set at 2.50 rand for the half year through June.
