It's January 2025, and the harsh reality is stark. Despite the increment in minimum wage and the promised increase of corps members' allowance, the federal government continues to pay a meager ₦33,000 to these dedicated individuals. This is so unfair and nothing short of exploitation.

Imagine being thrust into an unfamiliar environment, far from home, with only ₦33,000 to survive for an entire month. It is unconscionable to expect corps members to thrive under these conditions.

Are our leaders truly aware of the crippling hardship that's gripping our nation?

Are they ignorant of the current economic reality of the country?

As I echo the sentiments of concerned citizens, i pray for divine intervention. May God bless Nigeria and guide our leaders to make decisions that uplift the welfare of all citizens, especially our dedicated corps members. Amen.

Tanzania's President John Pombe Magufuli has died, aged 61.

The Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan confirmed his death in a statement issued live on TV.

She said that Mr Magufuli died on Wednesday at 6pm from heart complication, at a hospital in Dar es Salaam.
