Romance / 5 Things You Should Never Say To Your Newly Engaged Friend by Shawntops(m): 6:04pm On Oct 18, 2016
So your friends have just got engaged – and with that comes all the excitement of endless calls and celebrations as they share their good news. But before you jump on the congratulations bandwagon, you might want to read this first. Because, as someone who just got engaged herself, let me assure you that there is nothing any newly-engaged person wants to hear less than these five super-annoying things…

1.'So when's the wedding?'

Yes, we know it's lone characteristic this is the main question you inquire. Be that as it may, genuinely, kindly don't. In your eyes, it demonstrates energy and fervor for your huge day. In our own, it's super irritating. Why? Since 99% of us won't have the capacity to answer yet. All things considered, we've just barely got ready for marriage, recall?

Yet, more vitally, as magnificent as it feels to get ready for marriage, it can likewise be overpowering knowing how much there is currently going to be to arrange. So as opposed to flame broiling us about when you can hope to get your wedding happy teases, simply let us appreciate being locked in for somewhat first.

2. Anything that is not, 'It's lovely' about the ring

You'd be astonished at the responses you get when you demonstrate individuals the ring that you've quite recently dedicated to wearing each day for whatever is left of your life. Gems is an individual thing so it's reasonable that not everybody will love the ring as much you do. However, the way that remaining parts this is a piece that has been picked particularly to reflect one of the greatest choices a couple will ever make. Also, yes, it won't not be as large or noteworthy as some of those stunning big name wedding bands out there, yet it's extraordinary to us. So don't demolish it for us by making it clear that it's not your thing (regardless of the possibility that it is truly horrendous)

3. 'When I got ready for marriage… "

Yes, we're very much aware that we're not the primary individual to ever get connected with on the planet yet at the same time, while we may gesture along in neighborly enthusiasm, inside we're considering 'Genuinely?! I can't accept you're attempting to take this back to you. YOUR TIME IS OVER!' As enticing as it is to relate, please simply don't. We just ever get the opportunity to appreciate this minute once, so kindly don't inadvertently dominate it.

4. Any reaction that isn't 'the manner by which sweet!' to your engagement story

Indeed, a few people's proposition stories can be somewhat serious – particularly when they transform into what is clearly an exceptionally very much practiced two-section story.

Also, yes, all the sentiment existing apart from everything else can wind up sounding somewhat gooey however by no means is it socially satisfactory to call attention to out in light of the fact that paying little heed to regardless of whether you have a smidgen of vom in your mouth from the saccharine story, you ought to never, EVER attempt and joke about it being wince commendable or silly. On the other hand surprisingly more dreadful, it being unpleasant (Yep, it may be difficult to accept yet we truly have heard somebody say that.).

5. 'All things considered, you'll need to welcome [insert irregular companion/companion's accomplice/removed relative's name here]'

Once more, this alludes back to point one. In the event that we haven't made any arrangements yet that will likewise imply that we don't have a visitor list. Be that as it may, regardless of the possibility that we have pondered it, kindly don't begin tossing your weight around as of now. Arranging a wedding is sufficiently distressing without the additional weight of compromising to keep everybody cheerful, so do whatever it takes not to begin heaping it on when we've just barely got ready for marriage.

In addition, setting aside the way that you won't not have the space or cash to welcome everybody who needs to be there, the general population who you welcome to your huge day ought to be about who you need and not who your visitors need. So while it may disillusion that you can't carry your new beau with you, attempt to comprehend that we would have him on the off chance that we could – unless obviously he's an aggregate douche, then perhaps not.

Crime / Hired Assassin Arrested After He Fell In Love With His Target by Shawntops(m): 5:49pm On Oct 18, 2016
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old

suspect, Tayo Adeyemi, who confessed to have been hired to kill a female hotel lodger in the Alakija, Satellite Town area of the state.

Adeyemi, who hails from Kwara State, told our correspondent that he was arrested by the police after he sneaked into the hotel, White House, and demanded that his target, simply known as Rosemary, had s-x with him so he would spare her life.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Adeyemi, who dropped out of senior secondary school, was arrested by the Satellite Town Police Division last Thursday.

It was learnt that penultimate Wednesday, Adeyemi was brought by two gang members on a motorcycle to the hotel to kill Rosemary.

However, once Adeyemi laid his eyes on his supposed target, he reportedly fell in love with her and eventually attempted to rape her after she rebuffed his pleas to have s-x with him.

Rosemary, however, raised the alarm.

The hotel management subsequently called the police, and Adeyemi was arrested.

Our correspondent learnt that one locally-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from Adeyemi, who had been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja.

The police said the suspect belonged to a three-man gang, adding that a manhunt had been launched for the fleeing two gang members.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Adeyemi said he gave the woman N1,500 to have s-x with her, adding that he fell in love with his target.

Adeyemi, who spoke in pidgin English, said, “I was working as a casual worker at a bottling company in the Apapa area before I met the gang members in the Ajegunle area. A friend, Wisdom, had invited me to stay in his house.

“His friends, who are Eiye Confraternity members, saw me and said they had a job for me. They said the job was to kill a woman. I said I could not do such a job, but they threatened to kill me and since they had guns, I was afraid.

“Finally, I was left with no option but to do their wish. One of them, Ahmed, gave me the gun and they brought me on a motorcycle to the hotel. But when I got to the hotel room and saw the woman, I fell in love with her and I had mercy on her.

“I told her that I was sent to kill her, but since I loved her, I would just have s-x with her. When she declined, I offered her N1,500, and said I would take her necklaces and wristwatch away and lie to my gang members that she had been killed. But she raised the alarm.

“Everyone in the hotel called the police, the Oodua Peoples’ Congress and other vigilance groups. The hotel management called the police at the Satellite Town division.

“When my parents heard about my arrest, they were disappointed. I told them that I was being threatened by the cult members. I did not mean to kill the lady.

Otherwise, I would have shot her and run away.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the command would not give criminals a breathing space in the state.

Romance / 5 Major Keys To Have A Girl Running After You by Shawntops(m): 8:17pm On Oct 15, 2016
How to get a girlfriend

If you don’t know how to get a girlfriend you’re single, searching but , then this is the place for you.

Some guys find it difficult getting a girlfriend because they are either ‘very’ shy or THEY JUST DON’T KNOW . Well have no fear as we provide tips on how to get a girlfriend.

Finding that special one can be amazing but then it takes some steps and some qualities that you have to possess if you want to get that dream girlfriend.

Here are 5 major keys to help you get a girlfriend

Intelligence

You have to seriously take note of this guys. Intelligence is on every woman’s (well most women) list when they are being asked what they like about a guy because to them smart is the new sexy.
Being intelligent is one of the ways to get a girlfriend

Being good with you diction is also a booster , ladies like it when a guy is articulate

But try not to get it all mixed up, being intelligent isn’t just about you going to school but being able to know something about everything , be that guy who can challenge her intellectually, and tackle her in a friendly debate. But you must not over do this as it makes you look arrogant or a know it all.

Having a great sense of humour is one of the quickest ways to get a girlfriend. Life is serious enough as it is. No wonder women value the lightness and playfulness that a partner with a sense of humour brings to their lives. But then this has to be in moderation because too must humour makes you look like a joke and she’ll end up not taking anything you say serious.

Conversational skills

If you meet a lady, lets say you go on a date and you start off with conversations like “oh, I’m the director of XYZ company”, “I live in the high brow part of the state ”, “I own ten cars” and you go on and on.
Good conversational skills attracts a potential girlfriend

Except it’s a gold digger you’re talking to, who would gladly pay attention since she doesn’t have anything to offer in the first place and is also thinking of ways to suck you dry with the ‘All about myself information’ you are feeding her.

But if this conversation is being listened to by a potential girlfriend then you'll bore the life out of her and then she perceives you as a selfish person.

So, if you want to know how to get a girlfriend with conversations, do not make it about yourself. Women like attention and are easily attracted to men who are interested in them. If you genuinely want to know what makes her tick, this will be attractive.

Financial stability (AKA Have a job)

All women and I mean all WOMEN are naturally attracted to a financially stable guy, because lets face it, love don’t come cheap these days (The needs of the ladies defer).
Being financially stable makes the girl feel secure

Now don’t think her reason for liking the fact that you are financially stable is her way of trying the spend your money. Girls just like it when they know that a guy can hold it down anytime, and they feel secured even if she’s independent You don’t have to be bill gates (which is a plus tho), but you should be able to afford certain things, it is unflattering to try to live off a girl.

Ambition on the other hand go hand in hand with financial stability, women attracted to a guy who knows what he wants in life and is going after it. They absolutely adore being around that kind of energy.

Physique + Charisma
The way you carry yourself says a lot about you

This is one quality that exposes your insecurity as a guy, you’re wandering “I hope I’m tall enough” or “I don’t know if she likes light or dark guy” . You can still win a girl’s heart irrespective of what you look like, that’s where charisma come in to back up those’ imperfection’.

If you want to get a girlfriend, you have to let go of your insecurities because ladies can smell that from miles away. Nobody is a asking you to be Mr Universe, but the way you carry yourself, your composure says a lot about you and it determines whether or not she’s going to like you. Just from how you stand, women will judge you as attractive or not. Good body posture indicates that you are a healthy mate and that is very attractive to women. Lean back.

So if you really want to make an impression, be cool, try not to act to shy, she might perceive that as being weak, don’t say things like “I know I’m not attractive” you’re making it clear that you are not good enough (And that is not sexy). Wearing nice clothes demonstrate social status, accentuate your physical features and shows that you take care of yourself.

Also smelling good gives you extra points. Try on some light, musky cologne. These smells will mimic the natural smell that males produce and used lightly, will arouse some females.

Here are extra pointers if you want to know how to get a girlfriend

Family values
You making time for family naturally attracts a girl to you

Ladies are attracted to guys that have. This means you have to be the kind of guy that make time for family, because she judges you on that. If you don’t visit home she then starts to think you wouldn't’t have time for her if she was your girlfriend. Also being kind hearted and selfless is a plus to get a girlfriend, if you’re nice to her but saucy to the waitress, then just know that you’ve lost your chance with her because ladies tend to keep every action on record, so she then feels when she gets serious with you, you’ll do the exact same thing to her.

Having a positive view on feminism is also a boost if you want to get a girlfriend, if you say things like “It’s a man’s world, women shouldn't have a say” , Dear girlfriend-seeker you've have just turned off the relationship switch off, because no woman wants to hear things like that, in their eyes you’re already a monster.

Romance / 6 Signs That You Are Too Emotionally Needy by Shawntops(m): 7:59pm On Oct 15, 2016
Not to worry, we have the solutions, too. You can be less-needy and a lot happier in your relationship!

For a relationship to exist, there needs to be two mature persons.

Being mature of course has to do with being able to stand on one's feet, to be able to handle one's self without assistance.

That we fall in love and enter into relationships does not mean that we can not live alone.

It only means we are willing to give up some of our independence to someone we trust to not mess up with it.

However, there are people who take this notion too far.

They give up the whole of their independence and rely on their partner for almost everything that has to do with their wellbeing.

They usually end up a burden to their partner, who becomes emotionally tapped out and overwhelmed by this.

These people have sunk deep into emotional ‘neediness.’ They truly are exhausting and relating to them becomes a tiring cycle for their partners.

So, ask your self; are you are emotionally independent?

The answer to that question depends on the answers you provide to the questions below.

1. Does the whole of your happiness depend on your partner?

2. Do you look to them to supply all your needs in love partner in love, sex, and support?

3. Can you comfortably make reasonable decisions on your own, or does your partner have to validate all your actions?

4. Do you have other activities to fill your days with, or do you idly count minutes till the next time you see them?

5. Is this relationship the center of your universe? How about relationships with other persons? Friends, colleagues, family?

6. Does it annoy you greatly if you are not included in every single one of your partner’s plans?

If you notice that you fall foul of any or many of these questions, it means you might be needier than normal and that is never a good thing in a relationship.

The good news is that you can reduce the stress on your partner, you could be less attached emotionally dependent on your partner.

Here are the 3 simple things you should do to achieve this:
Be less-suffocating

No matter how close you are to another person, it is unhealthy to spend all of your time with him or her.
Upgrade your self-esteem

If you honestly believe that you might be exhibiting behaviours linked to neediness, you need to start doing more things on your own.

You must also learn to feel more secure in your abilities and be more self-assured.

Drop the distrust

Thus, to drop this unneeded character trait, work on yourself till you reach that stage where you are more trusting of your partner and comfortable with the fact that they cannot be with you all day, everyday.

Working till these changes are evident in you will make you a happier, less-independent person and more valued by your partner.

They will know that you can be without them, but you have chosen not to live without them.

Now, doesn’t that sound just totally romantic to you?

Celebrities / Olamide’s 6th Studio Album Will Be A ‘hip-hop’ Project - See Details by Shawntops(m): 5:23pm On Oct 12, 2016
Olamide's 6th studio album will be released in December, and it will have rap in it.

The Nigerian rapper who has released a studio collection consistently since his presentation in 2011, is taking a shot at keeping up his figures and keeping his energy going, by dropping a studio collection in 2016.

The new collection will be released in December, as tunes on the collection have as of now been recorded. It will highlight hit melody 'Who you epp', alongside different singles. No official title, fine art, and tracklist has been discharged.

This will be Olamide's 7th album. In 2011, he propelled his profession with "Rapsodi", and went further to release a series of collections consistently including "YBNL" (2012), "Baddest Guy Ever Liveth" (2013), "Road OT" (2014), "2 Kings" (joint collection with Phyno, 2015), and "Eyan Mayweather" (2015).

2016 has been a major year for the rapper. Under his authority and direction, his record name, YBNL, has released a collection ("YAGI"wink for rapper Lil Kesh, who have therefore left the organization, to establish his own engraving. It is at present as yet advancing Adekunle's "Gold" album. He has likewise started take a shot at another of his marked rappers, Chinko Ekun, who is releasing singles.

No one knows what number of his singles since his last album will make the following full-length extend. What's more, in spite of the fact that the rapper has kept up his work in the pop type, he has dependably been certain to blend that with some Hip-jump tracks. This sort assorted qualities has held his believability as a rapper, while likewise pursuing heaps of cash that originates from the pop solid.

Singles 'Who you epp', 'Lies People Tell', 'Owo Blow', and "Sere" have all been rap singles which sits decisively at the focal point of the Hip-bounce discussion. If at any point there was a honor for the most attractive and viral Hip-jump record for 2016, 'Who you epp' will be a shoo-in for the trophy. Olamide comprehends his foundations in indigenous rap music, and how he earned his qualifications by spitting for the boulevards. He grasps his past, and looks to the future with a greater amount of it.

Popular music has been a danger to the Hip-bounce sort, with the two sorts of music having figured out how to move in together and live together a solitary space. Pretty much as the marriage amongst R&B and Hip-jump in the US, our pop sounds have shaped a characteristic union with rap music, and together they have developed. Olamide's "Sere" steps this barely recognizable difference, and epitomizes what has been occurring on the music scene for very nearly 10 years. He is on the record with Lil Kesh, and together, they make music with components of both universes in plain view.

Much the same as his previous three album, rap has never been truant from Olamide's profession, and his next collection will in any case be a sparkling expansion to Hip-bounce. The man can adjust and turn into Nigeria's A-rundown pop star, however he finds better approaches to at present be a rap star as well. December will be a decent month for the radiance of Nigerian rap music.

3. Do away with unconstitutional office of the first lady which is run with N2b.

4. Reduce Governor’s cars to 2, instead of 6 bullet-proof cars.

5. Reduce Govt house jeeps instead of 25 jeeps.

He revealed to the audience that it used to cost him and his contingent, 10m per trip to Abuja when he travels.

Obi said he had to cut down the expenses, because he found out that over 30 people who had nothing to do in Abuja were going with him.

“When Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo wanted to come to Anambra state, they were supposed to used N500m to construct a presidential lodge, but I asked the President to sleep in my house through-out his stay,” he said.

Romance / 8 Signs Your Friends Are Making Moves To Destroy Your Relationship With Your Luv by Shawntops(m): 2:11pm On Oct 10, 2016
You bf's could be in a roundabout way destroying your association with some unpretentious activities that you may not take note. Despite the fact that this goes two ways, now and then we could be visually impaired and cherish the wrong individual and they may very well need to be great companions and spare us furthermore at times, well, they simply need to pour sand in your garri.

1. THEY THINK YOUR DATE ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH: Ever been here? You date somebody you truly like however your companions think your date's unsavory or terrible? Now and again like these, you may begin thinking about yourself whether you've settled on the wrong decision. What's more, once you begin considering, it's anything but difficult to rationally transform even a flawless accomplice into an appalling witch.

2. THEY TALK ABOUT YOUR EX'S WHEN THE NEW DATE IS AROUND: Past connections are constantly touchy. When you and your date are hanging out with your companions, do your companions continually discuss your exes or about the way you used to carry on around an ex just to have a snicker?

3. THEY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHEAT: Your companion may love one night stands, however they truly shouldn't attempt to persuade you to do likewise when you're seeing someone. It's anything but difficult to be controlled by companions you trust, yet here and there you have to space yourself from these sorts of companions who don't need your sentimental connections to develop into something better.

4. THEY DISRESPECT YOUR LOVER: Do you have an inclination that your companions disregard your new darling or treat them impolitely while hanging out together? On the off chance that you feel it, odds are, it's valid. At the point when your companions affront your date, it ponders gravely you as a beau.

5. ALSO THEY DISRESPECT YOU WHEN YOUR LOVER IS THERE: Do your companions treat you insolently when you're with your date? Your companions ought to help you awe your date and win a significant other over, not make you look awful. On the off chance that your companions put you down before your sweetheart, they're presumably desirous or irritated.

6. THEY EVEN FLIRT WITH YOUR LOVER: There are terrible companions and after that there are more terrible. Companions who play with your new date in the face of your good faith are the most noticeably bad kind. In the event that your companion tries to put you down, or rings your significant other and represents hours when you're not around, there's a decent possibility that your companion is searching for approaches to split both of you up and enter the photo.

7. THEY FLIRT WITH YOU WHEN YOUR PARTNER IS THERE: This is something you'll need to manage promptly. Do any of your companions of the inverse s*x like you or attempt to play with you before your new date? It doesn't make a difference if your coy companion hits on you on facebook or in the city, it's as yet going to make your new partner feel cumbersome and unreliable.

8. WHAT'S MORE, THEY FLIRT WITH YOUR LOVER: There are terrible companions and after that there are more awful. Companions who play with your new date in the face of your good faith are the most noticeably awful kind. In the event that your companion tries to put you down, or rings your significant other and represents hours when you're not around, there's a decent possibility that your companion is searching for approaches to split both of you up and enter the photo.

Romance / 5 Reasons Why People In Happy Relationship Still Cheat On Each Other by Shawntops(m): 1:44pm On Oct 10, 2016
There are a few reasons why a few people still undermine each other even when they're in a happy relationship, regardless they end up undermining each other. However, they are not prodding each other in light of the fact that they are in upbeat relationship like in said before yet there will be a specific motivation behind why they on each other.

Today i will demonstrate to you a few reasons why accomplice do undermine each other when they are likewise in glad relationship, underneath are a portion of the reasons....

1. BECAUSE IT'S FUN: If you don't have the way to go sky-jumping, you may wind up undermining your accomplice. A cheerful relationship can once in a while get to be tedious. Glad doesn't liken to exhausting, however the line begins to get foggy when you stay with somebody sufficiently long without anything new occurrence.

2. BECAUSE SOMETIMES ITS BETTER THAN GREAT S3X: People have diverse tastes with regards to s* x, however those interests are once in a while acknowledged in conferred connections. Extraordinary obsessions are more averse to surface when two individuals are totally content with the way things are going in their relationship. Cheerful individuals will cheat to attempt new things, yet it doesn't imply that they need to dispose of their present relationship.

3. NEW ROMANCE: Yes, glad connections are as yet overflowing with sentiment. Be that as it may, on the off chance that somebody tags along and makes you feel more sweltering and more energetic than the way you do with your present accomplice, tricking all of a sudden turns into a choice.

4. BECAUSE THEY MIGHT NOT GET CAUGHT: No matter how upbeat a man is, the point at which the open door presents itself to cheat with no repercussions, it's conceivable that they will pull out all the stops. On the off chance that the individual duping is somebody who does not put a lot of significant worth on their ethical quality, their unlawful exercises won't give them any issues insofar as they're certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that they won't get got.

Crime / ‘gospel Singer’ Caught Stealing A Lady’s SUV At Winners Chapel Headquarters by Shawntops(m): 4:46pm On Oct 07, 2016
When 22yrs old Samuel Sunday walked into Living Faith Church, also known as ‘Winners Chapel,’ located at Sango-Otta, Ogun State, last week Sunday, many thought he came to worship God.

Nobody knew he came into the worship centre to steal a car. Thus, while others were singing and praising God, Samuel was frantically searching for the perfect vehicle to steal.

The perfect vehicle would be one, whose owner forgot the gate pass inside the car.
Whenever church members were driving into the church premises, security guards at the gate would give them a gate pass.

Nobody is allowed to drive in or out of the church premises without the gate pass. Samuel was almost giving up hope of ever finding the perfect car, when he chanced on a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The owner, apparently in a hurry, left the gate pass in the car.

He successfully broken into the car and was struggling to undo the security device of the car, in order to turn on the ignition, when a woman sighted and watched him.

When he noticed the woman, he smiled sheepishly, grimaced at himself and said: “I have lost my car key.” He didn’t know the woman was the owner of the car.

Needless to say, Samuel was whisked away by policemen from Obasanjo Police Station, Ogun State.
After his arrest, Sunday blamed every of his action on his father’s early demise and the devil.

The police said:
“Sunday broke one of the rear glasses of the SUV and forced himself into the driver’s seat. He was battling with the security device in the vehicle, when he was discovered.”

The owner of the car, who refused to give her name, said:

“It happened last week Sunday. We had just finished the fourth service and decided to eat at the restaurant. We were still at the restaurant, when one of our neighbours called that we should wait for him. He said he wanted to drive home with us. I told one of my daughters to go and wait for our neighbour at the point we parked our car. When she got there, she saw the young man and rushed back to tell us.”

The woman continued: “Initially, the suspect didn’t know that the vehicle was ours. He told us that he owned the vehicle and that he had lost his key.”

Sunday, who claimed to be 19-year-old and later 22, described himself as a gospel singer. He also described himself as an undergraduate and a driver.

He said: “I don t know what came over me. I wanted to take the vehicle home. It has been long I left home. I’m behaving this way because my father died when I was very young. I have not gone to my mother’s house in Lamgbasa, Ajah for some time. I have been staying with my nephew. I wanted to go back home with the vehicle.”

A police source at Obasanjo Police Station, said:

“The suspect is a car thief. We recovered wraps of Indian hemp from him. He went to the church just for the purpose of stealing a car from the park. We found out that he had moved round the parking lot before he finally saw the SUV. The owner left the gate pass inside the vehicle. He wouldn’t have been allowed to drive the vehicle out of the premises without the gate pass.”.......

Crime / 'my Father Is The Leader Of Many Kidnap Gangs In Lagos' - Suspect by Shawntops(m): 8:48pm On Oct 04, 2016
An arrested kidnap suspect has told the police that his father is the leader of various gangs in Lagos and Ogun States.

One of the suspects arrested in the abduction of four landlords in Lagos State a few weeks ago, Trust Bourdilon, has confessed to the police that his father is the leader of various kidnapping gangs in the state and has been the one organizing their operations.

The 28-year-old Bourdilon was arrested alongside four others including his lover, and the gang's informant, ThankGod, shortly after they abducted the landlords in the Isheri area of the state and demanded a whopping N300 million each, but were released after a ransom of N12 million was paid to them.

According to the suspect, his father, who is currently on the run, is the brain behind most of the kidnappings in Lagos and Ogun States.

Describing the landlords’ abduction as their last operation before operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Squad (IRT) arrested him, Bourdilon stated that said the gang collected N12 million ransom for the landlords, but his father gave him just N350,000 as his share.

A police source narrated how the suspects were arrested:

“The suspects were arrested in parts of Lagos, Ogun, Delta and Ondo States. Bourdilon confessed that his dad is the leader of the gang and used to bring kidnapping operations to them to execute. His dad used to locate targets, which the gang goes after.

The gang has six AK47 rifles, which they use for operations. The last operation was the abduction of the landlords.

ThankGod’s role in the gang is that of an informant. His job is to go out, mix with members of the community where they had kidnapped people and get information on what is happening and what police are doing about the kidnap."

"Bourdilon confessed to being among suspected militants that ambushed policemen and killed a SARS operative, Solomon Esemuze, at Iba. Bourdilon’s father is yet to be arrested.”

Politics / Fani Kayode- Buhari’s Tenure Is The Worst Since Independence by Shawntops(m): 4:51pm On Oct 02, 2016
Fani-Kayode alleged that the current administration stole the nation’s foreign reserves and drove investors away from Nigeria.

A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed President Buhari in a recent article he published in the media.

According to Daily Post, Fani-Kayode, in a write-up titled: Nigeria at 56 – home truths for those in power, said Buhari’s government has been the worst since independence.

The former minister also alleged that the current administration stole the nation’s foreign reserves and drove foreign investors away from Nigeria.

He also said the banking sector is running down because there is no liquidity, adding that the Dollar is fast rising to N500.

See the full article below:

Nigeria is 56 years old today. Consequently it is time to speak some home-truths and look at where we are in the scheme of things.

It is time to consider how well our government has fared since coming to power and to compare their record of service to previous governments that were in the saddle before them. Sadly the score sheet does not look too good.

The rigging of elections, the persecution of opposition figures, the demonisation of dissenters, the destruction of the economy, the pauperisation of our people, the introduction of famine, the humiliation of Nigerians coupled with violence, impunity, aggression, intolerance and tyranny: that is all President Muhammadu Buhari and his government have served our people since he was sworn in on May 29th 2015.

The last one year and four months have been the worst since independence in terms of the violation of human rights, civil liberties and court orders by our government.

We have witnessed unprecedented mass murder, butchery, carnage and barbarity by well-armed and highly favored Fulani herdsmen and ethnic militias coupled with genocide and unprecedented extra-judicial killings by our military personnel and state security forces.

We have witnessed the resurrection of Abubakar Shekau and the mutation of Boko Haram into two powerful new factions. We have seen them re-take towns and communities that they lost years ago and hoist their dirty black flag in parts of the north-east.

Our government have given up on the Chibok girls and we witnessed the humiliation, insults and physical harassment by security forces that those who have fought for their return in the BBOG group have been subjected to in the last few months.

We have have seen the rapid depreciation of the naira, the total decimation of our industrial, agricultural and manufacturing sector and the destruction and decay of virtually all our roads, airports, power generating facilities and infra-structures.

Our government has squandered our foreign reserves. Driven away local and foreign investment. Caused the dollar to fly away. Created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in the markets.

Forced people to spend their life savings and capital just to survive. Reduced many Nigerians to eating just one meal a day. Caused many to withdraw their children from school simply because they cannot afford to pay fees. And they have driven many to depression, suicide and despair.

Unemployment is at a record high. The banks and indeed the entire financial sector is dying because there is no liquidity. The naira is approaching 500 naira to one US dollar which represents an over 100 per cent depreciation in the space of one year.

We are in the middle of the worst economic recession that we have suffered in our 56 years of existence as an independent nation-state.

Thousands are being laid off on a daily basis. Graduate and non-graduate unemployment is at a record high. Food prices, the price of transport and the price of fuel, diesel and kerosene have shot up.

Finally we have witnessed the total and complete dashing of the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the Nigerian people.

Our government is corrupt, weak, paranoid, incompetent, cowardly, fearful of criticism, terrified of a strong opposition, unable to cope with dissent, insensitive, delusional, wicked, sociopathic and psychopathic.

Worse still they have attracted the opprobrium, contempt, derision and scorn of the entire international community and the derision of major corporate investors and multi-national corporations.

The only thing that they are good at doing is blaming President Jonathan and indeed all past PDP Presidents and governments, including President Obasanjo, for their failures and inability to perform.

They are also pretty good at conducting media trials and witchunts and indulging in Soviet-style propaganda and the demonisation of their perceived enemies.

Yet most frightening of all is the fact that our President is out of touch with reality. He does not appear to be living in the 21st century.

His solutions and remedies to the complex economic problems of a modern-nation state in 2016 are the same ones that he proffered and which failed him woefully when he was military Head of State between 1983 and 1985. We really appear to be going down the drain under his leadership.

I pray that God intervenes soon and does something extraordinary because this accursed government simply has to go.

They have divided us along religious and ethnic lines more than any government in our entire history. They have come to spread poverty and distribute shame.

They have sought to islamise our country, demean our faith, disgrace the Church and undermine our Christian leaders and clerics.

They have destabilised our nation and undermined our unity to such an extent that the majority of our people secretly despise and covertly pray against the continuation of a united Nigeria.

They have brought us to our very knees, turned us into a nation of beggars and paupers and reduced us to cowardly and timid slaves.

They seek to break us, cause us to crawl, crush our spirits, torment our souls and compel us to accept a North Korean-style system of government with its cultic worship of a maximum ruler who sees himself as a demi-god and deity that must be obeyed and worshipped by all.

Such is Mr. Presidents desire and craving for worship and such has the spirit if narcissus seized and possessed him that he even had a man arrested, detained and prosecuted for daring to name his dog after him.

Yet thankfully they will fail in their quest because the Living God, from whom nothing is hidden, will not allow them to succeed. They will fail because ultimately good will always prevail over evil.

They will fail because no matter what they do they cannot separate us from the love of the Lord. They will fail because the God that we serve is mighty and He is faithful to His own.

Permit me to digress. I have been reliably informed that my life and liberty has become a major source of irritation and anger for the maximum ruler.

I have been told that he hates me so much that he has issued orders that his gestapo should come for me again and this time around to torture me or even poison me whilst I am in their custody. Yet I count it all as joy.

I laugh them all to scorn. If only they knew the God that I serve. If only they could comprehend the nature of He who sent me and who works through me.

If only they knew the source of their numerous problems and why they are going through all that they are going through. If only they knew why they are groping in hopelessness, dancing with failure and hobbling in the dark.

If only they knew that you cannot fight against the Holy Spirit or battle against the Lord. If only they knew the power of God and the efficacy and power of the scripture that says “touch not my annointed and do my prophets no harm”.

As long as they seek to do nothing but pursue, demean, misrepresent, destroy and kill the defenceless and innocent who have done no wrong, the Angel of the Lord will continue to pursue them along a dark and slippery path.

He will frustrate all their efforts, plagues shall torment them, failure shall trail them and peace shall continue to elude them.

For the record the bottom line is as follows: yours truly would rather die than be silenced or be compelled to bow down and worship Baal and his accursed disciples.

As long as there is breath in me, no matter what, I will exercise my God-given right of expression and I will fight and oppose the evil soul that presides over the affairs of our nation because he has brought nothing but suffering, hardship, pain, shame and tears to our people and to our land.

He is the proverbial “darkness that seeks the darkness”. Yet, in the end, his own darkness will overwhelm him and the light and power of the Living God will bring him down to his knees and remove him from his exalted and dizzy heights.

And if I should fall before that time, posterity will be kind to me and men will know that there once lived a man who spoke the bitter truth about the powers that once were and who saw tomorrow.

Yet the beast remains as relentless as ever because, like satan, his time is short. Worse still he has turned on his own.

It is no longer Goodluck Jonathan, his wife, his loyalists and leading members of the PDP that are being targeted anymore.

Now the erstwhile allies and friends of Baal’s tiny cabal within the ruling party itself have also been listed for “special attention” and the torments of the evil eye in the next few months and years even if they don’t know it yet.

Such is the nature and way of Baal. He simply does not know when to stop. Like Pharaoh his heart has been hardened unto destruction so that, at the end of the day, when nemesis catches up with him, the name of the Lord will be glorified.

Like Nebuchadnezzar, he will be brought to his knees and he will crawl like a grass-eating beast in the forest until his eyes are opened and he acknowledges the majesty and awesome power of the Lord God of Hosts and the Ancient of Days.

Sports / ‘I Need More Time In Man United’- Jose Mourinho Begs by Shawntops(m): 12:36pm On Oct 01, 2016
Jose Mourinho says he needs more time to get the best out of his Manchester United side as they gear up for a demanding October fixture list.

The Red Devils face Stoke City at Old Trafford on Sunday before returning from the international break to take on Liverpool, Fenerbahce, Chelsea and Manchester City in the space of nine days later in the month.
And, just 10 games into his United regime, Mourinho claims he cannot be expected to know everything about his players until he has seen far more of them.

“I need time. I need the players to play, I need to see them in different circumstances, I need to understand more about them,” he told a pre-match press conference.team
“There are so many, and so much to learn about the players that only when you have worked with them a long, long time will you know them well. There is always a surprise behind the door when you have worked with the team for three or four or five months.”

Mourinho added that Thursday’s narrow victory over Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League at Old Trafford at least gave him another chance to learn even if the competition is something of a hindrance.
“Every game I know more about my players, especially the ones that are on the pitch. Obviously I would like to have other players playing more so I can see more and I can learn more about them.
“But we need the squad, that’s for sure. The Europa League is the competition which most disturbs the domestic competitions because we play Thursdays and it’s really difficult.”
However, the Portuguese refused to pick out October as an exceptionally tough month despite their forthcoming fixtures, pointing to the league setbacks against Manchester City and Watford in September as examples that the Premier League season is never straight forward.
“Every game is massive. Watford was massive and we lost three points, a lot different from the loss against Man City. So every game for me is important, you are right we have some big opponents in October but that’s also refreshing.”
United head into Sunday’s 12:00 kick-off on the back of three successive wins in all competitions, while Stoke are still on the lookout for their first league victory of 2016-17.

Politics / I Can’t Fight Buhari In Public –tunde Bakare by Shawntops(m): 12:15pm On Oct 01, 2016
In this interview with JESUSEGUN ALAGBE, the founder of The Latter Rain Assembly and convener of the Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare, shares his thoughts on the country’s 56th Independence anniversary, President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and other issues

Nigeria is marking its 56th Independence anniversary today. Is there anything worth celebrating?

If you ask a sick man who has gone through a lot of problems in his health and has made it through the Intensive Care Unit and is now beginning to live again, ‘Is there anything worth celebrating?’, he will answer you and say, ‘You should try to be in my previous predicament for you to know where I’m coming from and then you’ll see the reason for my celebration.’ There’s a lot to thank God for. We are not better than many nations which have broken into pieces. We are not better than many nations which have gone through bloodbath, but God’s grace and mercy have helped us to still forge ahead. It’s worth celebrating and when I say we should celebrate, I’m not talking about frivolity or spending the money that we don’t have to pay the workers or the money we could spend on much better things. I’m talking about having a sober moment to thank God and ask for a new opportunity to do it again, a new opportunity to build our nation so we can get the best of what God has in stock for this country.

If someone asks, ‘What is there to be celebrated about Independence in the midst of an economic recession? Why should I be happy?’ What will be your response?

First, we should thank God that we are alive to witness the 56th Independence anniversary. I was in school when the first anniversary was celebrated. I remember the fanfare, the flag, the jollof rice that we cooked to mark it. That was in 1961. And now, 55 years after, there are many individuals who have benefitted from this country. Such people should have moments of sober reflection to see how they can contribute their quota to make this country great again. I have a deep-seated feeling, you can call me an incurable optimist. I have this feeling that the future of Nigeria is more glorious than our past, all because of the intervention we expect from God and a change of heart from the leadership and people of our country. So we should thank God that we’re alive to see the future despite the challenges we might be facing. We must not give up on our country. There’s no other nation we can call ours. I remember that God who predetermined the boundary of every nation at the time of their creation also distributed to each nation gifts, endowments and gave each an inheritance. So it’s high time we located what ours is and maximise it. Nigeria is too rich to sell its assets at this time…

So you are against the sale of assets?

We must think beyond selling our assets. We are too rich to say we want to sell our national assets like the prodigal son did and we should not be little-minded like the elder brother of the prodigal son by saying we have little. There is much more in our ground. There’s so much in our human capital to be developed. I met a Nigerian recently who is a great designer of automobiles. He’s from Sokoto State and is making a huge impact abroad. He’s thinking about how to replicate what he has done abroad here at home. I look forward to a time when the resources of the best and the brightest — North, East, West and South — would come together to make this country great again.

Could this country be great again without restructuring?

It depends on what you mean. There are many people who are touting it and don’t even understand what it means. Restructuring is not about dividing this country and asking each region to go into disintegration. This is it: We have 36 states and not up to four among them can stand on their feet. Why do we create those artificialities that will keep on wasting our resources? In the past, the golden era was when the regions had opportunities to create, according to the law, and to maximise the potentials of their ground and their resources, and then paid taxes to the Federal Government through the federating units. But what we have now is what I call the ‘satellite shops’ of the Federal Government. They can, whether they sell or don’t sell, go with begging hands to Abuja to collect monthly allocations, whereas if you give this country, say six geopolitical zones, and say let there be decentralisation of power for those zones or regions to begin to maximise what’s in their grounds and pay tax to the Federal Government, we will have strong federating units. That’s the restructuring we are talking about. If we don’t do that, we are just postponing the doomsday because we cannot continue to sustain what we are doing right now.

When you visited President Buhari recently, did you discuss this issue with him as his friend?

The things I discussed with the President are very private. I learnt this from Dr. Billy Graham: You don’t throw on the pages of newspapers privileged conversations, but you can be assured that President Buhari means well for this country. He loves the country and in spite of all the challenges, he wants to give it his best shot to turn around the fortune of this country. I can say that to you. If you ask him what his vision is, he wants to fight corruption to a standstill. There are challenges because of the judicial system that he inherited and because of the investigative arms of the government, but we will get there. People may think it will not happen. It’s going to happen. When justice is not speedily executed, the hearts of men are settled to do evil. So there must be examples that will teach the next generations, ‘Hey, don’t go there. Don’t do this.’ Like I said, he wants to fight corruption to a standstill and second, he wants to ensure that Nigeria is secure. Third, he wants to diversify the economy into agriculture. Those are his three main visions.

Some people believe the President’s focus on fighting corruption is affecting other areas of governance like the economy. Do you think people should go hungry because the President is fighting corruption?

In fact, I don’t think President Buhari is the one fighting corruption. I only said it’s his vision. He’s not the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, he’s not the Attorney General of the Federation, he’s not the Inspector-General of Police. What needs to happen is to have a formidable team with clearly stated responsibilities. The President is one man and can’t do all the things I’ve enumerated on his own. When you have a team that is working together, things will improve because you cannot say this is what I will do and leave the other areas to suffer. It’s not going to augur well for the country. There seems to be a disconnect somewhere. However, in the month of October, I’m sure we will begin to smile. We may not laugh but I’m sure we will begin to see certain changes in certain directions.

You talked about the President having a formidable team with clearly stated responsibilities. Some people believe that the economy is bleeding because he put square pegs in round holes in the formation of his cabinet. Do you share same view?

If you believe so, you have to show me the square peg in the round hole and the round peg in the square hole. It took him six months to form his cabinet and do some things he had done. We should realise that governance is a complex thing. Do you know how many decisions he has to make and how many files are on his table on a daily basis? The quality of decision that a leader makes is contingent on two things — the information at his disposal and the people surrounding him. If the people surrounding you give you wrong information, you will make wrong decisions. For example, I was there (I wasn’t told) with two other people inside the Presidential Villa with former President Goodluck Jonathan when they called him from the Army headquarters that they had found the Chibok girls. While on the call, they told him that they had seen 85 of the girls. Meanwhile, it was a lie. I left the place that day thinking that solution had come, but unknown to him, it was a lie. In a proper society, what do you do to those people? Well, it depends on a number of factors. But you need to ask, how did those people get to where they were? Were they competent? I’m just saying all these because in the process of trying to kill the mosquito, you don’t smash yourself. These are issues that are complex and I’m not doing double-talk. Is it possible that mistakes have been made? It’s human to make mistakes, but we must have the will and the courage to correct them. I don’t know who’s a square peg in a round hole and I don’t know who’s a round peg in a square hole, but I do know there’s a clamour for change and I’m sure Mr. President is giving it its utmost attention.

Talking of former President Goodluck Jonathan. In 2012 when he increased the price of fuel, you — through the Save Nigeria Group — led many protests to ensure the price was reverted. But President Buhari did the same thing in 2016 and there was not a single protest. You even gave reasons why it was the right move to make. Is it because you’re President Buhari’s fan that you didn’t protest against his action?

You can’t be close to a man and go and fight him in the public. The fight begins when you have a leader who is unresponsive and irresponsible. For as long as they are showing you their cards and you know they are responsive and responsible, you don’t fight your friend in the public. You can fight behind closed doors and you shut your lips and you go out there and do what you need to do. I’m a very good friend of President Buhari, but I was not also unfair to the former President. In fact, eternity will reveal at the appropriate time the role we played to ensure there was no bloodbath and why the concession was that easy. I will leave that for posterity to judge.

Some say you perhaps want an appointment from President Buhari. So if he’d like to give you one today, which position would you want?

I learnt from childhood not to count my chickens before they are hatched and I don’t sit down and start contemplating, ‘This may happen, that may happen.’ When we get to that bridge, we will cross it. I’m not at home praying that God should give me this or that. What God has made me is already awesome and I’m contented. I’m fulfilled. The kind of access God granted me to President Jonathan and much more to President Buhari is not common and I would like to use that for the benefit of his administration. His success is my success. I don’t want him to fail at all neither did I pray for President Jonathan’s failure. He (President Jonathan) is coming up with a book soon and you’ll see what he wrote about me there. I was President Buhari’s running mate. You don’t run with a man at that level and then turn your back and walk away. You keep on supporting him, giving him your best. It’s like you have an uncle or you have a son. Do you abandon them because certain things are not going well? You keep on doing your best because you hope that one day, they will rise. When I was born lame and was crawling on my buttocks, everybody abandoned me. Only my mother stayed and played with me. On my third birthday, I had started running and I am what I am today by the grace of God. If she had poisoned me because of my condition, she would not have anybody taking care of her now. So let’s not give up on the leadership of the country and don’t forget, people deserve the kind of leadership they get and the leaders deserve the people who follow them. They are not foreigners, they are Nigerians. The wastage and the stealing that characterised the past administration are phenomenal. They are mind-boggling, but gradually we are coming out of the woods and I’m sure things will turn around for the better. So if I have to do anything with any government, it has to be by the direction of the Holy Spirit and it must be something that I’m equipped to do so that you will not tell the whole world tomorrow that I’m a......

Romance / This Is Why Men Cheat In Relationships (don’t Ignore No. 6) by Shawntops(m): 11:37am On Oct 01, 2016
Some people have tried severally to really understand why men who seem happy in a relationship go ahead to cheat. See all the details you need to know about here.

A relationship expert and counselor, Dr Kamal Khurana has revealed top reasons why men cheat in relationships you should know about and how to tackle the issue.

1. Disturbance in the marriage as the primary reason
When there are regular fights at home with his wife, which are left unresolved, a pattern sets in wherein he continues to be unhappy and ‘disturbed’. In this kind of a scenario, either he can fight or he can flee. When he looks for an affair, he is looking to flee from dealing with the issues in the marriage, and be comfortable with that ‘other person’. It is telling oneself that the problems do not affect anyone and life can continue in a better way with a parallel support.

2. Cheating men report boredom led to the affair
Some men may find the routine of a married life to be tedious and dull. These men find it easier to shift dominance or primacy to another relationship and feel the spark outside to be a thrilling option; instead of finding ways of charging their marriage. It becomes present moment for gratification versus the hard job that they will have to do in their marriage to resolve an issue. The extra-marital relationship provides them with a readymade and fresh experience, which is appealing enough to take the risk.

3. Cheating men love to experiment sexually
S*x has always been and will always be an integral part of a marriage. While some men are quite content spending the rest of their lives having s*x with the same wife for many years, others prefer to experiment more as a need, rather than as an option. They want to sleep with many women, many times, and therefore do not think twice before an extra-marital alliance. It perhaps makes them feel sexually powerful and more adept than others.

4. Cheating men are emotionally dissatisfied
When their wives are too busy with their own lives, working or bringing up children or even looking after in-laws and parents, emotionally, men are left high and dry. But men are emotionally driven beings too. They want their wives to show them that they’re appreciated, and they want women to understand how hard they’re trying to get things right. Most men consider it unmanly to ask for a pat on the back, which is why their emotional needs are often overlooked. Sometimes the couple may not be compatible so however much the wife may do, the man will always find something to complain about.
It may also happen that the woman he cheats with is his co-worker or boss, someone who praises him, looks up to him, and compliments his efforts. That’s another reason why it’s so critical that he feel valued at home.

5. Cheating men have a history of EMR
Some men, in their childhood, may have witnessed cheating in their parent’s marriage. This somewhere gives them a message that it is okay to cheat, even though deep inside they know this is wrong. All of us learn from our parents, so taking the risk is good enough. This acquired learning also happens through cheating resorts taken by elder siblings, neighbours, peer group and everybody who has been impacted. Sometimes as teenagers and young adults, some men have had multiple relationships, these men either intentionally or accidentally end up going back to their ex-girlfriends. The other lot goes back to their past style of having multiple relationships. It is well said, what a mind thinks, achieves. So there are females also who are either consciously or unconsciously looking for such men.

6. Cheating men have wives who cheat
Men also take revenge with their cheating wives, by having multiple relationships themselves. Even if their wives are guilty and come accept their extra-marital relationships, some men continue with their tricks. This is mostly done by men who don’t want to forgive their spouses.

7. Cheating men think it to be ‘divorce’
Some men are willfully adulterous and use it as a means for acquiring divorce. The law also considers adultery as a fair ground for the wife to seek a divorce. The man is cheating openly and is in a non-receptive mood, taking the wife’s feelings of frustration to an all-time high. Although this percentage is less but it is there.

8. Cheating men need to be needed
When men feel that they are not needed by their wife anymore, they look out for some other woman, who can understand them and make them feel special. As an obvious outcome of a new relationship, they get that feeling from the other woman. And suddenly when they are showered with attention, which they haven’t received in a very long time in their marriage, they toss their hands in the air and get deep into the new hot and happening relationship.

Celebrities / John Okafor: "My Son Died From LUTH's Carelessness" - Actor Mr Ibu Recounts by Shawntops(m): 11:26am On Oct 01, 2016
Most Nigerians who have seen popular comic actor, John Okafor, aka Mr. Ibu, in action will agree that he is a talented comedian and one of a few Nollywood practitioners that are naturally cut out for the roles that they play in the movies.

Okafor has, so far, been able to prove to his fans that he does not only live by making other people to laugh away their sorrows; he is also humour personified.

But the actor, in an interview with our correspondent, also reveals that despite his commitment to making people to laugh, he has had cause to be unhappy, even bitter, on some occasions.

On one of such, Okafor had an axe to grind with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba. He was so bitter that he almost instituted a court action against the management of the hospital.

Recounting what happened, he says, “The matter was actually between the Paediatric Department of the hospital and me. It was in 2011. My wife and our two-year-old son had been kidnapped. After I paid the ransom demanded and they were released by the kidnappers, I returned to Lagos from Enugu.

“Then on January 18, 2011, my son fell ill. He was diagnosed with inflammation of the liver. The hospital suggested that he should be scanned. At the same time, I was informed that I could take my son out of the hospital to get the scan done elsewhere. But the same people later declined, saying that everything had to be done in the hospital because he was too weak to be taken outside.

“After a while, I was told that there was no electricity in the hospital. When I asked if there was no standby generator, they said there was no fuel in it. I offered to pay for fuel only to be told that the man that operated the generator was not around. When I left the place and got back later, the man still had not returned. Then I was advised to write an application and to submit to the admin department.”

After writing the application, Okafor found that there was nobody to receive and treat it. While he was waiting, he was told that his son’s condition required blood transfusion. The actor did everything possible to ensure that the ailing boy was given treatment at the hospital, but his efforts were in vain. Finally, the little boy gave up the ghost.

“That was how my son died. Later, one of the doctors came to me and, without even sympathising with me, asked if I could release my boy’s corpse to him so that they could cut it open and use it to teach other medical students. In that moment, I felt like committing murder for the first time in my life.

“When I told my lawyer what happened at the hospital, he was shocked. He said it was actionable. I told him that I was ready to take the hospital management to court and sue it for $100 million in damages because my son’s death was caused by the carelessness of the professionals whose duty was to save his life. But my lawyer advised me to let go”.

Reflecting on his career, Okafor says he has been publicly embarrassed by fans at different times and in several places. “I quickly forgive them because I was the one that looked for trouble in the first place. On one occasion, somebody came to me and said, ‘Ibu, because of what your jokes have done to me and my family, I promised God that anywhere I meet you, I would slap your face.’ I told him them to go ahead. Then he slapped me so hard that I couldn’t see clearly for two hours,” he says.

Mr. Ibu obviously relishes his status as a popular and relatively comfortable Nollywood actor. It is doubtful that, given a choice, he would have given up acting for any other career. Going down memory lane, the actor reveals that he used to be a boxer and a Karate practitioner. Admitting that only a few people are aware of this aspect of his personal history, he says, “I practised Shotokan Karate for 16 years and I was a member of the Karate Federation of Nigeria. I happen to be the first instructor that was teaching Karate in federal government colleges in Nigeria.”

The actor, no doubt, cuts the picture of a man enjoying a blissful marriage. But, asked if he ever had a girlfriend before he got married, he replied, “I had problems with my relationships with women. Each time I had a new girlfriend, other men would always take her from me. Whenever I fell in love with a girl, somebody would snatch her from me. But I don’t fear any sense of loss because I married the best woman on earth. My wife is a former beauty queen. She was the winner of the 2004 Face of Imo beauty pageant.”

But Okafor says that even now that he is happily married, women have not stopped coming to him for a date. “I don’t woo them, though. They are the ones chasing me. That is part of the price I have to pay for being popular.”

The Nigerian Football Federation has said it cannot afford to fly the Super Eagles to Zambia for next month’s third-round World Cup qualifier, CNN Africa reports.

According to the media platform, the NFF said it is pleading to Globacom for aid.

“As we speak, we don’t have any kobo (a denomination of Nigeria’s naira currency) in our purse,” an unnamed member of the NFF told CNN Africa.

“The charges for the Airline alone is $200,000 for a 140-seater plane, and it will be on ground with the team for two days,” the spokesman added.

“We need between $6,000 and $10,000 for flight ticket(s) to bring in the players (from Europe),” he said.
The NFF member also noted that players will be due a further $95,0000 each in bonuses, stating that the only way forward is to receive support from the Nigerian government.

“The federal government still has to play its part, because this is the beginning of our campaign for the 2018 World Cup qualifying ticket. If we must get it right, every hand must be on deck,” he said.
