Brother good morning, you are really wearing god eyes glass that always prevented you from investigating issues critically than cooking up excuses as if you're the one that wrote the bible and are 100% sure of its contents.

As far as we can tell, this is 20th cum 21st century and not two thousand or three thousand years ago. The farther an event get behind time, the harder it is to investigate the factuality of what really took place. It will always be an exuberant position to doubt events that happened thousands of years, i mean thousands of years considering that the people who propagated or partook in such events are pretty naive to some extent compared to you today. The essence of such doubts is to be in the safe side by making sure we are not under delusion.

This is the reason why scientific investigations and facts of past events and phenomena (like evolution, bigbang etc) are not hold as dogma. we are human with limited knowledge to accurately know absolutely what happened in the past. We can be wrong anytime and somewhere. Despite oceans of evidence supporting any scientific and historical facts, we can't still say for absolute (100%) certainty that it really happened that way.

The Book of Enoch (also 1 Enoch;[1] Ge'ez: መጽሐፈ ሄኖክ mätṣḥäfä henok) is an ancient Jewish religious work, ascribed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, although modern scholars estimate the older sections (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) to date from about 300 BC, and the latest part (Book of Parables) probably to the first century BC.[2]

It is not part of the biblical canon as used by Jews, apart from Beta Israel. Most Christian denominations and traditions may accept the Books of Enoch as having some historical or theological interest or significance, but they generally regard the Books of Enoch as non-canonical or non-inspired.[3] It is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but not by any other Christian group.

It is wholly extant only in the Ge'ez language, with Aramaic fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls and a few Greek and Latin fragments. For this and other reasons, the traditional Ethiopian belief is that the original language of the work was Ge'ez, whereas non-Ethiopian scholars tend to assert that it was first written in either Aramaic or Hebrew; Ephraim Isaac suggests that the Book of Enoch, like the Book of Daniel, was composed partially in Aramaic and partially in Hebrew.[4]:6 No Hebrew version is known to have survived. It is asserted in the book itself that its author was Enoch, before the Biblical Flood.

The authors of the New Testament were familiar with the content of the story and influenced by it:[5] a short section of 1 Enoch (1 En 1:9 or 1 En 2:1 depending on the translation) is quoted in the New Testament (Epistle of Jude 1:14–15), and is attributed there to "Enoch the Seventh from Adam" (1 En 60:cool. The text was also utilised by the community that originally collected the Dead Sea

My genuine advice to you is to move straight on to your PhD.
Please hit with the hammer while the iron is hot.
Make use of the opportunity that you have now.
Finish your PhD and then you are free to start a lecturing career.
With 5 publications you are not doing badly.
Since your school is sponsoring you, it is somehow as if you are having "a TETFUND" funding.
Do not look at the monetary difference, look at the time difference; working for 2 years before being qualified to access the TETFUND thing.
yes boss, noted.... just that the TETFUND has monetary advanatges, as one will have something in the bank and not have to be dependent

Lecture for two years or more, then you can take up the scholarship, I have seen many Junior lectures follow this pattern.
You are at advantage (north-earth) getting a job regardless for any option u choose
thanx for that, God bless u

jobskills:
@Shaxxjesse,

I perceive from your submission that the grade level and the salary you will be placed are important to you, if you are considering a career in lecturing, the salary might not be a major consideration to you now because either you come on board with your Masters or PHD, it is still not fantastic (relatively). You might want to play down on that for now but focus on preparing yourself for tomorrow

A friend of mine came back to Nigeria in 2011 with her PHD and no prior experience and got a lecturing job with one of the topmost public universities in Nigeria as an Assistant Lecturer. She has however grown to become a Senior Lecturer (cant remember the particular level) and holds a very key position in her faculty based on her demonstration of competence.

I am not sure if any of the two options is confirmed yet, but it might be okay to work for some years before you go for the PHD. With this, you might be able to define your research area better based on your lecturing experience and what you have observed is of interest to you. This will also brighten your chances of getting engaged because of prior experience. However, depending on the institution you chose for your PHD, 9M is not sufficient to see you through the three years.

The advantages of going for PHD directly after your MSC have been clearly stated by you. In addition to that, doctorate study is a job on its own so you are in a way gathering experience. Being a school funded scholarship, they might not allow you to work elsewhere, but there will/might be opportunities to lecture along the line. So you are still gaining experience. You will also not have to bother about funding your research. This looks like a better option to me.

Hope this helps to move you closer to making a decision.
thank u so much, your advice is most helpful sir

happy independence to all Nigerians.
i need the advice of my dear experienced and knowledgeable folks here .I am by name jesse, am from the north eastern part of nigeria. am presently a masters student somewhere outside nigeria, hoping to round up by january 2016. although, i have read threads discussing about lecturing job in nigeria, of which i find them interesting andf very helpful. straight to the point now.. am actually at a cross road, as to what decision to make. Do i continue with PHD immediately after my Msc or take up a lecturing job?
some points to clarify here is that, my school will give me scholarship immediately after the Msc prog, which am not gonna pay a dime for a school fees. also, am familiar with the system, hence i can round up the PHD program within 3 years.
another option is taking the lecturing job immediately after my Msc. the advantage here is i will be given a TETfund scholarship #9m# for PHD, of which i may have to work for around 2 years before i can further for the PHD.
which of the two options do i go for? and why
at what level will an inexperience PHD holder be placed in the university?
at what level will i be placed as a masters holder with 5 publications?
