Dreal1247: .Try reading during the day when your brain is very active. If there's no time to read during the day, read at night when you've taken a refreshing nap and showered. Don't read at a stretch. Read while jotting down points for 40 mins, Review what you've read for 10 mins, then take a break of 10 mins (you can take a walk, gist with friends, listen to music or just browse), then go back to read another 40mins, and continue the cycle. If with all these, you are still not able to concentrate, take coffee, its a stimulant, it helps but can cause dependency. Try taking down points in class too, sit at the front seat and always maintain eye contact with the lecturer. Eat well before going to school, but don't eat too much. Lastly, Reduce your intake of garri...lol. |

@OP, it does not. It depends on why you are listening to the song. Some people listen to music for depth, some for entertainment, others to calm the nerves. Real music lovers have a reason for every song they listen to. What would the study have to say about someone like me who listens to almost all the genre of music (except classical though) lol? Atimes I want to just dance and get crazy, would you suggest I listen to Mozart No, naija music would sure come in handy then.Atimes I just want to relax and think about love, then I listen to Taylor swift, Westlife and the likes. Every morning when I am in the mood of devotion, I play gospel music. It can be English or any of our local languages. When I am bathing or when I am doing certain chores, there are particular songs I Listen to as well. When I want to feel music with beats, punchlines, I listen to Rap and hip hop. Y'all saying rap is shallow and all that, please don't just listen to only one of an artiste's song and start calling that artiste dumb. Buy their album and you'll realise what they really have inside. The only reason I am a diehard fan of MI till tomorrow is not because of his hit tracks, it is because of that song, 'Money' in his first album. If I hadn't listened to his album, I wouldn't have heard that song and I wouldn't have liked him. I remember one time I had to study allnight for an exam, guess what I played till morning, 'Oritsefemi' I was doing more of calculations then anyways. During my last exams, I played Drake ft Rihanna's 'Take Care' everyday. Y'all listen to lyrics please. Don't just say, "ah that's Nicki, she's dumb and bitchy, she's a hoe, I am too classy to listen to her." Most of the greatest classical songs in history are just instruments, no lyrics and you say that's what smart people listen to? I dunno about any other person but I sure prefer Terry G's song with razz lyrics to some lyric-less stuffs that drives the ears crazy. What does the study have to say about someone like me Lool |

Dude you are awesome. Your movie is really breath-taking. When I started reading two days back, I thought it has already gotten to the end. Now that I'm here, I will start waiting like the others. PS: I saw the story in the Literature Awards thread. With the way everyone was nominating it, I said I will come and take my share of some of the good stuff. And I wasn't disappointed. You are good. |

hanzofresh: nice one there. But as for d PANS National conventn @ Unilag, d Planners messed d whole ting up from day one. PANSites as noble peolple which we are endured but couldnt pocket mediocrity. I've bin to oder conventions before and it was memorable. Happy World Pharmacist day my BrodaThanks Hanzo. I'm female though. I hope you didn't join in the dinnerparty 'show' that happened lol. You are right, the one in UI made sense. As Adeola rightly said, we will thrive. Let us embrace whoever bears the Rx sign. We are men of honour, let's join hands. |
Good points raised. However, the average Pharmacist working in a Nigerian hospital has limited functions. That is why patients doubt our abilities but have more faith in doctors. I saw this during my industrial training. How can a (central) hospital have all its pharmacists in one big room? How can pharmacist-patient confidentiality be developed when there is no privacy? How can you patiently and effectively counsel a patient when you are standing and there are atleast more than 50 patients waiting for your services? Painfully, the average Nigerian cannot differentiate between the pharmacist and the ('chemist') patent medicine dealer. Most countries have long done away with Bpharm programme but this is 2013 and Nigerians and sadly to say pharmacists (including students) are just becoming aware of the PharmD programme. Bpharm has more to do with manufacturing while PharmD is more patient-oriented. The theme for this year's world pharmacy day is to make medicine use easier no matter how complex. How can it be achieved in Nigeria when the pharmacist is under duress, when Pharmaceutical care is yet to be implemented in most health institutions? This year, in PANS national conference held in Unilag, it became obvious that members of the profession lack unity which is essential if we are to progress. We blame government for all our lapses. But we are to blame. Where were we when other health professionals were taking up positions in government or even sponsoring politicians who can represent them? Thankfully, we've left the 6 by 6 window system lol. We still have a lot to do before we can happily and/or proudly celebrate World Pharmacy day. Hopefully, we'll get there someday. ProudlyRx |
