I spent more than 27 years in Lagos, i havent felt a high level of insecurity hanging around locals in my life as i am witnessing here. I almost got framed up after a constant robbery of my flat and immediately i moved out of the apartment, the wicked Anglican vicar ordered my arrest and shielded the guy i complained about that visits his friends and peep my window whenever i am asleep and the window is open just because he had beef with me that i pumped water without his knowledge and i claim right again. It was due to my high educational status and connection, the dpo told me in secrecy after my release that he actually paid them to torture me till bear false witness against myself while the culprit is walking free.

Try and relate with the locals and see for your self. U cant hold meaningful conversation with them and the fact that you are not their tribe, sparks questioning and segregation. U have to be very careful, else they rope u up or probably kill u. Thats how worst it can be. Most of the educated youth have issues speaking english so u might be seen as a problem to their gathering,. Their respect for you comes with a price. U are not married and also a stranger, u will be highly disrespected. A 20 year old married guy will be highly respected than you. Their taught, 'i will always respect him cos he is married"

Despite the hike in cost of rentage in Lagos where i was born more than decades ago, i will still prefer living there if i find myself there again cos of the multi lingual nature and the fact that you can come across people who share same ideology as u. Now take Ibadan as an example, the youth ideology is an eye sore. For the first time in my life, i refuse to mingle with the youths here for my eight years in this place. I stand with Lagos any day any time. It is not about the cost of living, but about how lives are affected in place of residence.
