I didn't even expect the Phantom to come for 70k. I never thought about it. Indeed, it would take a solid mind to shell that much for the Phantom 5. Well, the Custom UI so far looks great. About it being an overkill, you seem to make a cool point. What would you have priced the phone if you were the manufacturer though?

Btw, does the Phantom 5 not make the first mtk device with a fingerprint security scanner?

I very well agree with you. But a friend made me see that they may not have been for 'cheap' but 'affordable'. He thinks the Phantom is affordable compared to it's alternative, maybe he has a point. -shrugs-

Premium or no premium. Am a super fan of tecno, At first it was tecno F5, presently Tecno R7, thinking of getting a canon C8 but with the new phantom 5, beginning to 2 have a rethink. Think I like the phone

Overall camon performance is enough reason to make me buy this Phantom 5 though. It's not like I want to use it till 2020 like some people. It wasn't designed for everyone also. But the Camon's general performance along side that of the Boom J is convincing enough that my money wouldn't in anyway go to waste with the Phantom 5.

So an iPhone user is not supposed to air his view on mtk threads. you have a big complex issues my friend. whats the diff in infinix and tecno (a six months validity device), which silly winning is Tecno winning. 19,500 is not such an issue for me thankfully, so u can keep your opinions to your game tickets.

Ehen! You just talked now. Point is, MTK is affordable Qualcomm. Milo is affordable Titus. Dano is affordable Peak milk. Gingerbread is affordable Shortbread. The MTK is designed to bring android experience to low end users/market. Nobody is comparing the iPhone chipset with the MTK.

Okay, let us think about it this way, you get an affordable android phone for 20K, use it for a year or two and you're angry? LOOL. Really? With the way android devices are evolving, who ever wants to keep using a 4yr old android device? Look at the Samsung S3 or S4, right now, it's like cheap plastic. When it was first released, stuff was calling for my bank. Now, I wouldn't look at it twice to buy. Why should I use a phone so long, Android to be specific. Plus, truth be told, I know Tecno products are more, way more, durable than infinix phones.

And affordable devices shouldn't be used for too long, especially under heavy usage. It's only unfair. If you get my point.

Very good alternative to high end Samsungs and iPhones. It's quite unfortunate you can't see this. You should use a Phantom, and see Tecno puts in plenty effort in producing them compared to other series.

made the silly mistake of buying the hottest infinix hot2 as a side phone to accomodate my other sim and was so unimpressed. was wondering how jumia managed to deliver it in two days. currently im looking towards discarding it after just two days. it is useless and poor looking so i can imagine how tecno would look like.

This is a rather pathetic and very baseless notion, and I beg to differ. Wherever you got your idea about the 2013 chipset is wrong.

1. Tecno P5 processor is MT6753 octacore Mali T720 MP3 @ 700MHz dated 2015. So, you're very very very very wrong sir. This almost performs better than your outdated Helio X10 Xiaomi processor dated 2014.

Please, do your homework before coming on here to spoil a brand name that did you no wrong whatsoever.

The Phantom 5 and Xiaomi RN2 no be mate rara. The Phantom is it's senior Bros.

2. The price is just perfect. The RN2 doesnt have a finger print sensor, does it? See? Another baseless talk you made.

3. Tecno and bad battery? After a month? Tecno must have hurt you somehow somewhere before. You want to start using infinix problem to describe Tecno. Tecno that is rugged like mad.

4. The Phantom 5 receives OTA updates. You should seriously do your homework before airing your smelly opinions, you know?

Now over to my concerns about the Tecno Phantom 5

1. Tecno P5 Processor is dated OctaCore processor (2013) vs Xiaomi RN2 Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 (2015)

2. Cost wise, Tecno #70,000 vs Xiaomi RN2 #45,000

3. Battery wise, based on experience and past product launches, Tecno phone batteries are not properly optimsed for thier devices, wacky, unreliable and false capacity.

4. No OTA updates. Unlike well established and credible alternatives like Xiaomi, Meizu, Infinix etc, all Tecno devices are a pain in the a55 when it comes to product support and updates.

5. Touchscreen and Software Issues. Techno is known for overhanging, unresponsive touchscreen after a month of purchase and many more software related problems.

6. Android OS transition. Moving from one Android version to another means a New Product Launch From Tecno. The next iteration of the Phantom series will be a new product running android v.6, Marshmallow.
