At a media event in Sheraton Hotel , Lagos , Tecno Mobile Unveiled Phantom 5 , Its 2015 Flagship smartphone. The event was graced by the Crème de la crème of the media industry in Nigeria. Notable guest includes Mr Louis Njoku from Standard Organisation of Nigeria , Mr Yakubu from Consumer Protection Council (CPC) , MI , Chuddy K and a host of Others. Prominent bloggers such as Yomi Adegboye of Mobilityarena , Tobi Ayeni of Misstechy , Wale Adekile of Geek.ng , Elroy Chibex of Mobilityarena and Wale Oladipupo of Techcityng were all on ground to provide full media coverage of the event.

The event kicked off with a welcome note by the MD Of Tecno Mobile Nigeria , Mr Chidi Okonkwo , Followed by subsequent speech from the representatives of Standard organisation of Nigeria (SON) and and Consumer Protection Council (CPC). Respectively.

The Master of Ceremony , Joe Hansen , entertained the guest with some funny jokes and witty comments. Later on , A dance crew came on stage and WoWed the wonderful audience with a dance performance called "Tecno Phantom 5 Dance".

Then came the moment of Truth. A Digital Marketing Strategist at Tecno Mobile Nigeria , Mr Jesse Oguntimehin , Came on to give a presentation on the new Tecno Phantom 5. Mr Jesse gave us a walkdown of the specifications , features and price of the smartphone.

Tecno Phantom 5 is a premium smartphone of the highest calibre. Built with metal , Phantom 5 has a 5.5inch 1080 x 1920 pixels FHD display and a massive 401 pixels per inch(ppi). It utilises a 64-bit Octa-core Mediatek processor and a 3GB RAM to ensure smooth performance and seamless multitasking. For the picture lovers , Phantom 5 comes with 13MP back camera and some special features such as dual flash , 0.2seconds fast photography and Visidom to improve picture quality at night. At the front , You get an 8MP Camera for your selfies and group selfies.

Phantom 5 will hit the market on 17th September 2015 and will cost #69,900.

I mentioned earlier that a tide of buzzes once hit social media; tech bloggers were at it, making speculations and quizzing with regards to the possible features that will don TECNO’s next PHANTOM smart phone. The conversation gained a bit of traction and all of a sudden died out.

Did someone pacify our poke-your-nose bloggers?
Well, we think so and information reaching us suggests that speculations made by some of these seer cum bloggers on the next PHANTOM specs were reaching too far and TECNO Mobile stepped in – it does look like someone has a communications strategy and dollar budget to defend.

It wouldn’t matter anymore. Someone or something has gotten lax at TECNO again and this PHANTOM spirit is out to hurt us again-yes, we know that TECNO’s next flagship is a PHANTOM smart phone for sure but what you cannot sniff out-yet-is the specs and features of this flagship.

So, will TECNO go wireless Bluetooth on next PHANTOM?
We’ll see.

Will TECNO launch fingerprint ID on next PHANTOM?
This picture, revealed, suggests there is going to be fingerprint sensor close to the camera. While fingerprint isn’t entirely new, it looks like TECNO is set to dazzle with their implementation.

Will TECNO at least go full metal body on next PHANTOM?
Most likely.
The buzz of TECNO Camon C8 is still hot and the device sold out last week, but was soon available Tuesday this week. We can’t hold our excitement for the 16.09.2015—eagerly waiting for the NEXT PHANTOM!
Well, we’re 65% near certain that the next PHANTOM is full metal body-see the pictures.

Oh! Saving 17K to buy the Hot 2 with 1GB Ram? I wouldn't make such mistake though. The 3000mAh battery with nice camera specs is really appealing to me.

like I stated b4 infinix hot 2 support h+ network. But many people just confused maybe becos Dem Don dey used to kitkat os. lollipop os is different from kitkat. The 2 phones dey gud but it depends on ur pocket. if u want elegant, 5.5 screen, 3000mah battery, beautiful follow come smart pouch,camera front and back with flash, beauty etc u can go for tecno c8. if u want 5.0 screen, 2g ram,2,200mah battery, no pouch,etc. U can go for infinix hot 2.

OS Updates? I'm hoping the phantom can receive updates.

Seriously I've only seen talks about design and UI, ain't Nobody looking at phones that way anymore. Tell us Wetin de inside, RAM, ROM, what version of Qualcomm processor etc. If you rate this phone more than 5/10 with these specs I've seen you've just not seen phones. No disrespect meant.

But blood is hot sha. You want a 10/10 specs for 20K range? You shouldn't bother looking to the affordables/low-end then, you know?
