GRADUATES FROM NIGERIA UNIVERSITIES SHOULD NEVER BOTHER TO APPLY FOR STANDARD CHARTERED BANK INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE PROGRAM BECAUSE YOU'LL NEVER GET PICKED....THEY ONLY TAKE IN FOLKS WITH EITHER B.SC OR M.SC FROM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS PREFERABLY IN UK/U.S. THEY ALSO GIVE PREFERENCE TO CANDIDATES THAT STUDIED ECONOMICS OR ANY BUSINESS RELATED COURSES.
YOU MIGHT GET TO THE ONLINE VIDEO INTERVIEW STAGE BUT THEY WILL NEVER GET BACK TO YOU EXCEPT YOU MEET THOSE REQUIREMENTS MENTIONED ABOVE. I PERSONALLY HAVE EXPERIENCED IT TWICE AND HAVE PEOPLE THAT HAVE SUFFERED THE SAME FATE FOR ABOUT FIVE TIMES.
THIS RECRUITMENT IS DONE EVERY YEAR FOR JUST SHOW-OFF SAKE.
IF YOU DOUBT ME CHECK THEIR PREVIOUS YEARS RECRUITMENT THREADS ON NAIRALAND TO CONFIRM OR BETTER STILL SEARCH FOR SOME OF STANDARD CHARTERED BANK INTERNATIONAL GRADUATES PROFILES ON LINKEDIN TO SEE FOR YOURSELF.
TAKE YOUR MIND OFF IT. I STAND TO BE CORRECTED. WISH YOU ALL THE BEST

Suspected as much.. They accept only the best out of the best! God help us! What a country?!

Next2Bezee:
Thank you for the time you have invested so far in your application to Standard Chartered.

You will have received your personalised Superpower Report by email, outlining your strengths and how you can maximise them. We hope you found it useful.

Your strengths are a close match to the profile we look for and we would like to invite you to the next stage of our selection process. For this step we will ask you to complete two ability tests. These tests measure your ability to find patterns, follow logical rules and understand numerical information, which are all important skills in any banking job.

You will first be given the opportunity to complete the logical reasoning test and, if you pass that, you will receive an invitation to complete a numerical reasoning test.

We ask that you complete the tests in the next five days so that we can keep your application progressing.

Many thanks,

Graduate Talent Team
Standard Chartered

1 down, 2 to go smiley

Remember to be realistic when answering the strength test questions. In a real working environment you can't be overly motivated (embracing challenges you know nothing about & know you don't have enough experience & time to solve) & supportive (Helping everyone at the expense of the time needed to do your own work), most times you yourself need support from your manager, your team members and other colleagues. Keep these in mind and you can ace the strength test. Goodluck.

Congrats.. Though your take on their basis of assessment is totally wrong cos all my answers were more like that. I believe they expect your strength to show someone who's a bold GOAL-GETTER and HARDWORKING NO MATTER THE SITUATION YOU FIND YOURSELF.. but all these are speculations though and I also stand to be corrected.
Let's keep this thread alive, updates from the successful applicants would be nice smiley

From info I got from one of the contract staff I met, it should be after the 18th of September at least, cos most of them have to resign before coming to training school. And their salary is actually being calculated from 18th of a month to the same day the following month. So let's set our sights on the 3rd week of every month. But it's best youre prepared before the mails start dropping in. At worst, it would be December, at best, September. grin grin grin

Not from a reliable source Oooo... Don't even know a source talk less of it being reliable

Careful guys, do not let d anonymity this platform provides fool u,life does not end on nairaland or first bank.

@ezzo09 if u got that mail it means they shortlisted u. I'm going to say this in simple words,u ve to act fast! Go to marina first thing Tuesday, at d reception tell dem it's official or interview, dat u re going to HCMD on 7th floor .when u go up at d reception ask for temilola. Explain. What happened, if needed add salt to taste buy don't be caught in it.U ve to be proactive and employers love such.it's a risk as u ve no appointment but u got nothing to loose.U ve to try, whatever d outcome at least u ve closure rather than wondering if there's something u could ve done. All d best

Not marina branch but d head office

Is this not the same guy who had a "reliable source " (probably temilola of HCMD) of TS being next year?
ezze09 continue to reach out to the numbers attached to the mail sent to you and try to show up @first academy iganmu on Tuesday with adequate proof of the mail receipt.
Someone already mentioned earlier that some people were not screened cos their names didn't enter the registration list.

OBSERVATIONS CAVEAT EMPTOR(OBSERVATIONS NII OO)

1. The hcp lady keeps emphasising today is the last day. Same with the 2 f.b. staff.

2. Some people just got their mails around 2 yesterday...
so their names did not reflect on the register.

3. A means of I.d. that has your D.O.B. on it is the only acceptable I.d. So a birth certificate(surprisingly) would do.
4. Those who did from june to july were called.

5.I asked to know the fate of us other nairalanders(we are together) but she said life naa per head(summarily)

6.Questions are welcome.

Can you give an estimate of how many of you guys did documentation during your session?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by shola87(f): 6:14am On Aug 31, 2017
The call for documentation is actually based on performance at the AC.. If you guys noticed well, those doing documentation now did their AC in July after getting proper "info" from those who did theirs in June.

Anonymous source, please don't quote me as reliable source wink

Good evening guys, please for those who have done their AC, what is the version of the operating system of the computer you used to prepare your slides? windows 07 or 08? thanks

grin prepared mine (actually practiced with) windows 7 buh to my utmost surprise shocked I was given windows 8 to present with.. Fumbled a bit, in fact was disstabilized for a while. That's why I advised those yet to do to perfect their power point skills.

OK guys for those yet to do their accessment this post is for you wink
-->Make sure to get to d venue @least 30mins before the accessment starts cos we signed attendance register and ofcos punctuality is important in banking wink
-->Also try as much as you can to dress appropriately i.e corporately, cos our picture was taken (dunno why)
-->we discussed a topic about revitalizing the energy sector, here, even if you don't know anything about the topic, try and grab points while discussing with ur group members.
-->Competency based test was the toughest for me cos I wasn't prepped for the Q's @ all. Points to note, know your strength and weaknesses as a job seeker, rehearse how to introduce ursef to an interviewer and VERY IMPORTANTLY KNOW ALL ABOUT FIRST BANK, especially their products, services and achievements in the banking sector.
-->Learn how to work with power point
-->Rehearse your essay skills, the topic is the same with what's discussed in the group
-->logical and numerical reasoning are tacklable, at least if you made it this far, you can handle them.
In conclusion, be bold, be yourself, don't lie during your competence based test, and be time conscious during the tests(numerical and logical)
Wish everyone the very best smiley wink
