In what appears to be a wedding ceremony in somewhere in Northern Nigeria attendees were seen spraying various denominations of the Naira, even stepping on and sweeping them with brooms, treating the notes almost like dirt due to the abundance sprayed as the notes can be seen littered all over the event venue

PoliticsRe: “His Whereabouts Are Not Hidden” – Bwala Blasts EFCC For Declaring Bello Wanted by shortgun(m): 8:18am On Apr 20, 2024
EFCC has been reduced to a laughing stock under Tinubu.
EFCC's credibility has plummeted, it's now a subject of ridicule.
Funny enough, they want Nigerians to help them locate Yahaya Bello; the same Nigerians they trample on their rights with impunity, conducting midnight raids in student hostels only in the southern part of Country.

I wonder if this is the same EFCC that broke into Rochas Okorocha's house through the ceiling to arrest himangry

Reno is daft, have always been.
When Obasanjo wanted to clean up the mess in the food and drug segments of the country he appointed the best person to head NAFDAC in the person of Dr Mrs. Dora Akunyili. We all saw the impact of what she did there.

Reno the dumbo doesn't understand that government and the regulatory system can never be separated.

U re lying...

U can't spray dollars as u like, likewise pounds sterling
What do you mean by that?
In the US and UK people give cash to beggers and performers on the street and there's no law against that.
They can decide to throw the currency, squeeze it and drop or do however they please without any penalty.

Spraying money is more of a cultural thing for us just like traditional marriage.
Will you say because people in the US and UK don't perform traditional marriage rites we should equally do away with it?
All these long talk is not necessary, I just wan someone to tell me how spraying money in events affects the value of our currency

When you buy 10k Naira at the price of 11k Naira or 12k Naira, isn't the value negatively affected?
Economically, when you pay more for a currency its value will increase

When you mutilate the Naira for the government to crush it and print a replacement, isn't the value negatively affected?
Like I said, it's the job of every central bank in the world to replace mutilated and wore out currencies without penalty to citizens. Why should that of Nigeria be different?

Even about the ecstatic value, when you dirty or tear the Naira notes, isn't the value negatively affected?
People's emotional attachments to a currency has no impact on its value

Mutilation is the problem.

Mutilation affects the currency in many ways.

The urge to spray the currency is why people sell and buy the currency with the same currency within Nigeria. Is it good?
Are you saying the urge to spray the naira affects its value?
Like the more naira people spray the more its value will depreciate?
PoliticsHow Does Spraying Of Naira Notes At Events Affects Its Value And The Economy? by shortgun(op): 10:02pm On Apr 19, 2024
Since the arraingment and subsequent sentencing of Bobrisky to 6 months imprisonment for spraying some naira notes in an event. I've been scratching my head to understand how exactly does spraying money in occasions and events affect the value of our currency and its implication on our economy.
It's common practice for Central Banks all over the world to replace mutilated and wore out currencies at no cost nor punishment to the citizens.

Is it that the more naira notes people spray at events the more it loses value?
How does the spraying affect our GDP and GNP?
How does it affect our economic growth?
What is its effect on inflation and deflation?
How does it affect our interest rate?.
How does it affect SMEs and entrepreneurship in our country?

Please kindly explain it to me like a 10 year old 🙏

The only reason Nigerians are paying ₦225 for darkness is simply because of leadership failure!

Say it again for the slow ones in the back!!!!!!! You have the all the resources but all the citizens see is hardship and calamity. Most people are just having enough food, water and light to get buy. Go to any average city you see dusty unpaved road, shack houses or concrete lean to with door of bedsheet, open sewage in the street and simple people who think they are smart because they manage phone and straw in teeth at same time. The people don't want or think they deserve better!
Whenever we speak the truth about the decay in this country, they accuse us of being unpatriotic.Imagine how other African countries are enjoying cheap constant electricity that has eluded Nigerians yet they expect us to applaud the incompetent administration for making us pay exorbitantly for darkness

You took this off my thought process. The real unpatriotic Nigerians are the same people who fir 8 years defended a failure called Buhari. To them, the rest of us are unpatriotic, wailers, bad losers, etc. They were the ones calling Buhari "our darling daddy". They were the ones defending every wrong policy. Now, they are the ones who defended floating the Naira. They defended removal of subsidies without plan. They are now rejoicing after the policies bastardized the economy.
Exactly, they want us to endorse their mediocrity and cheer them on as they drive more Nigerians deeper into poverty, suffering, and hunger. I'm still puzzled about what they expect us to be excited about; is it the high cost of basic commodities, the insecurity or the directionless economic policies?
