Ice Cube: On Dr. Dre Rumors, Working With Dre Thursday, April 08, 2010 11:34 PM | 21 comments By Ice Cube ShareThis AHH IconGet Alerts AllHipHop Radio Ice Cube weighs in on the recent rumors that he's dissing Dr. Dre and others on a recent song, "Drink The Kool Aid." He's actually working with Dre on the looming Detox album. What up fam, I met Dr. Dre in the studio last night. When I got there Snoop was in the booth laying the finishing touches on another classic from the dynamic duo. He played me some tracks set for the up and coming Detox record and we talked about me jumping on board the project. Of course I talked about him doing s**ton my record and he said he'd bless the album. The Game came through ready to spit but Dre just wanted every to vibe. It felt like old times when me and Dre would work on s**tin Eazy's cold ass garage. He asked me did I diss him during the Paid Dues Show last Saturday. I did one of my new songs called "Drink The Kool-Aid" which got everybody thinking I'm dissing the whole industry, lol "You internet roaches, " I told Dre that I'd never diss the man that got me started. Here are the lyric to Drink The Kool-Aid for everybody who understand style and grace in hip-hop, check the lyrics This ain't Sanatra This ain't the Carter This is the chaperone n***a who brought'cha I am the author, this is Holy water From the Holy Father the Rock of Gibraltar Step up to the alter step up to the slaughter Get circumsized son and turned into a daughter n***as know they oughta drink the f**kin' kool-aid Industy laid out authorities are too late MC's passed the due date n***as they do hate You are Bobby Boucher I'm the Mane like Gucci I rock the Louie but not like Kanye n***a see me kinda like Harry Belafonte Step into the room they be like ah Day-O! Just style and grace. On another note, I rocked the f**k outta Paid Dues. I had my son Doughboy get down wit me while WC and Crazy Toones rocked France. I think people enjoyed the show. 20 years of West Coast hip-hop presented in 60mins. It was amazing. I can't wait to put the new show together with all my new songs. I also dropped the single "I REP THAT WEST" on'em. They loved the new shit. The single and the video will premiere and be avaliable right here on icecube.com May26th. My n***a Sir Jinx laced my wit a dope ass track. I'mma do it wit Jayo Felony and WC. This record is coming together like sweaty ass cheeks, No Q & A this time ya'll. I'm in a hurry. I'll answer all questions next time. Keep It Gangsta Cube Culled from Allhiphop.com

I like the way J. Cole handled that. Drake was trying to say , I could be Jay and you be Nas - meaning he thinks he can do better commercially. I am not usually one for rap beefs but I would like to see these two slug it out for the top spot. It would ultimately be good for hip hop. |
Rap newcomer J. Cole has downplayed Drake's assertion that he is the next Nas and said his future in hip-hop is too unpredictable to make comparisons just yet. Cole thinks he has a lot to prove before he can be given such accolades. "Comparisons are natural," Cole said in an interview. "But in this particular instance, and no disrespect to [Drake's] opinion, because that's how he feels, but I feel like it's too early. You can't call things like that, that early. You can't say I'm Nas because, look, Nas was in the game for 16 years. What if I'm not here next year? What if you're not here next year? I don't think you can say stuff like that this early, but I understand what people are saying. At his status right now, he's the most talked-about guy in the game. The Nas comparison is like, 'He gets a little bit beyond the surface,' but I feel like when it comes to those comparisons, it's way to early. And you never know, 10 years from now, I could be Jay." Last year, Drake revealed how he views his position in the rap game. by Cyrus Langhorne "I'm at the starting line," Drake said in an interview. "Those guys are at home, putting on their tracksuits, getting ready to make their attack. When J. Cole gets it super-right, I think he's gonna have a place as a Nas-type character who really stands for hip-hop, but still makes ill records that everybody f*cks with." Cole previously said he was influenced by artists like Nas and the late Tupac Shakur. "The more lyrical rappers. I gravitate toward the classic and more lyrical rappers," he explaind in an interview. "Sometimes when I'm in the studio we spend an hour on YouTube watching old rap and freestyle. For a while there it was really lyrical and witty and was always personalized. I'm drawn toward storytellers like Nas and Tupac. I'm realizing my own work in this day is generally not something that is out there. There is a lot of talent, but they just aren't putting out what I am. The whole game is exciting but nobody in a long time has come out with the skills for lyrical writing that I am coming out with." Drake has also credited Nas for influencing his own music. "It's gonna be bigger, it's gonna sound happier," Drake said comparing his debut album to So Far Gone. "Yeah, it's gonna sound bigger, it's gonna sound victorious because that's where I am in my life -- I really studied Nas to be honest, Nas was like somebody that I used to listen to his raps and not really understand 'how' he did it, I always wanted to understand how he painted those pictures and his bar structure and all of that. I went back and really studied Nas, studied Andre 3000 [for this album] and I hope you like it." |
Malema is nothing but a demagogue in the making. Africa is full of them, at the rate this dude is going, Idi Amin would be childs play. I dont particularly care for his brand of nationalism. We have all seen it before, it usually ends in tears. |
Correction at Kobo, he is illiterate. |
Go and get help. |
Hahahaha, Shouldn't you have a license for being that ugly? I'd love to ask how old you are, but unfortunately I know you can't count that high. |
Higher species !! You mean higher stupidity. Why don't you just open your mind and shut your mouth, both are empty anyway. |
Most people dont realise that this is a spoof video. |
I am all for these politicians answering for their crimes, same way average joe does but given that these are Nigerian politicians, any would do. If you think a day will come when they will all be answerable to the suffering citizens of Nigeria then you live in utopia. |
@ Poster, No way!!!!!! ![]() |
A poorly educated man with too much power to play with. |
Most highway robberies in the north are carried out by millitants from Niger. Bk shame on you., your mum must be real proud. |
@ Oge , please, enough of that jingle already, I have been following this news closely and I only learnt she is Nigerian on Nl. |
This is his response when a confident, intelligent black woman confronts his twisted views . What an epic PR fail. We already know for a fact that they are racist, might as well add masochism to the list. |
. |
@ Poster, Either way we dont care. We should be more concerned with Britain returning our stolen artefacts than their fight with Argentina for some far away wasteland. |
@ Chidi, you call it selective justice. You and I know that as far as Nigeria is concerned, any form of justice is better than non at all. It is going to be selective until all the politicians are selected. |
@ bk/babe97, if you do not have anything constructive to add please save your diatribes. Its beginning to sound like a broken horn. The issue at hand is one of the several problems bogging Nigeria down. We are students of history. In as much as I might not like the next person's view on the topic, at least they are making reasonable arguements however right or wrong. You on the other hand are not making any meaningful input. |

Mother of all wackness. |
@ Poster, check the tiltle of this thread and see if something needs changing, |
[flash=425,344] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcQhbWkx9-k&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"[/flash] You think you have seen bad ? |
@ Post, Cube wasnt really going at those mentioned cats. I think this is more of a publicity thing with him and thats where i have my problem. He keeps throwing jabs at the new WC niiccas (Jay Rock, etc). I think he had his time, he should let them have a piece of the pie too. |
