Hello,

Thank you for your candid response. Will work on it. Please i need your opinion here, i have a sponsor for the duration of my intended study in SA, is it advisable i include a bank statement of mine that has close to a balance of N3m (its in my late mum's name(her estate account which i inherited)) or do i just include only my salary account? Do not want to implicate myself.

Thank you for your candid response.

Go to the momentum website and complete the online form. You will get to the payment page. Pay with your card and your medical aid certificate will be emailed to you. Here is the link https://mmsa.momentum.co.za/mmsa/infocentre/studentapp.jsp

I think you have to go to Abuja. I have heard someone here say it can be done elsewhere but I am not too sure of that. Please go back about 10 pages or so and search, you may find the person's response there.

If you opt to go to Abuja, there are touts/agents who will attempt to 'assist' you there at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It should be done in a day.

Cheers and all the best.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Was at the VFS office today, it cost approximately N34k.
Please another question, how can i certify my Marriage Certificate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja? I was told to go to Abuja but i reside in Lagos. (2) How can i get a medical aid for study in SA for 12 months?

Thank you.

While the amount could simply be typed out here, I choose to encourage you to do some personal research yourself, particularly since you are coming down here for research.

Here is the link you need https://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/study-long.html

Cheers and all the best.

Thank you. Will work on your suggestion.

Have a great day.

This depends on the VO attending to your application. I should believe that using your hubby's insurance should be sufficient in all cases. However, since you don't know which side of the bed the VO will wake up from, if you can afford it, I'd say get your own student medical cover. Use this for the application. Once your visa is out, you can cancel the medical aid. Your institution should not have a problem with you using your cover under your hubby's Medical Aid cover. Your money will be refunded to you. That way, you don't worry about being denied on technicalities by an overzealous VO.

Cheers and all the best.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Shoyomi: 10:45pm On Sep 21, 2019
Good evening all,

Please I'll like to apply for a Visitor's visa to the UK (my first time to the UK but not my first for international travel). How can I go about it though I have siblings who are UK citizens?

Thank you for your sincere response.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Shoyomi: 10:29pm On Sep 21, 2019
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your response. I'll be applying in Nigeria for the study visa. Another question, can I use a medical insurance I have with my spouse who is in RSA? He included me on the insurance as a spouse, is it better I get another insurance based on my study visa or can I use that of spouse where he included me as a dependant?
Thank you for being of help.

As long as the institution will give you a letter that satisfy the conditions stated on the Home Affairs requirements for admission letters, and as long as your admission letter indicates that the program will be for 2 years, you have no problems.

Just note that you will have to apply for your study permit in Nigeria, not South Africa (even if you have Visitor's Visa that has already taken you into the country).

Cheers and all the best.

Hello Everyone,

So good to be back on this platform. I remembered making an inquiry on how to join my husband who is on a study visa in South Africa. Unfortunately, when i got to the VFS Office, i was told since my husband was neither a permanent resident or a citizen of South Africa, my visa application might be denied, on this premise, i changed my application immediately to a visitors visa, which i was later granted(for the second time), my question is this, i want to apply for a study visa to do a course whose lectures are just twice in a week for two years. (its a pastoral course)
I need your candid advice, i know all requirements which i got from the VFS website.
How can i go about this? this platform has always helped me out. Your candid opinion is welcome.

Dear Nairalanders,

First of all, i want to appreciate this platform for being so informative and educative, it really helped me while i was applying for a South African Visa for the first time and was granted the visa 20 days after the application (even though i have never traveled out of the country before, i.e my passport was clean and clear..). Anyway, i have come to seek your help again. Will be joining my husband in South Africa by July, 2018, though he's on Student Visa which will expire by 31st Dec. 2018, my question is this, what are the required documents needed in processing an Accompanying Spouse Visa?, How long does it take to process the said visa? Will i be allowed to work over there?

Thanking you in anticipation of your quick response.

Dear Housemates,

I want to appreciate everyone who put me through in my applying for a South African Visa; i have been granted 3 months Visa where i can only stay for 3 weeks only, single entry. I applied at the VFS Lagos Office in Lekki, submitted on the 7th Sept. 2017 and got a mail asking me to come pick up my passport on the 27th Sept. 2017. Thank you all, i really appreciate your help. This is a good platform indeed, it has been very helpful. I hope others find help as i have. wink. Be genuine, be true, with God on your side, all will be well. Once again, thank you Nairaland for this GREAT opportunity... Stay Blessed.

@shoyomi you can always apply for accommodation on bookings.com

Take time to read the thread you'd get all the information for your visa. I read and processed mine without paying a dime.
