SurewayBookings:nice one guys. @sure reply my pm lets make this work for month's end |
it interests me little that 'whitemen' prostrated before the ooni. My joy is that a young man with a blend of african tradition and exposure sits on the throne, consequently exporting the african brand to the global space. I am still searching for the traditional ruler in recent time that has pulled this feat. Nigerians, we missed it in 2015 (i dont care about the e-bashings) because i am very sure we could have managed these situations without the accompanying sufferings. Lets not miss it in 2019. #teamyouthforleadership #teamorange |

Stop the circulation of falsehood |
There was a time on nairaland when u saw 'its lady f again' and an accompanying 79likes. . .but lately. . .lady f how market? Missed your shenanigans |
Atlantian:From bottoms up. . .seeing that this sacrifice was made for you and me and considering the enormosity of advantages it confers on any that comes to its possession, we as christians persuade men to accept Jesus. But also considering the danger that looms, we having a full grasp of it also persuade you to come and possess the escape route provided all mankind (2cor 5v11). If you believe those magicians that perform in market places who do not have any scientific proof for mobile fones and monies they teleport from unknown places, if any shred of awe comes from seeing charms work wonders, then believe you me there are dimensions to life that meets the eyes. And being in Christ gives you such dimensions albeit a positive one. Lastly, science! If you believe science to explain everything to you then my apologies. Because the bible says 'there is a spirit in man, but the illumination of the Almighty give him understanding' (job 32v8). If God hasn't granted science understanding to His works, forgerit. |
On this I stand, that 1; we once celebrated a handicapped man here on nairaland for selling buscuits about 2weeks ago. Another sells handkerchiefs at obalende (the sharp turn leading to V.I. My point, there is dignity in labour no matter how menial. 2; He missed the point by thinking his help would come from that 'rich' man. 'Rich' because the dude could as well be a driver whose oga is not around. Help comes from no man but from God (jumoke is a living witness). Sometimes the greatest of help comes from the unlikiest of sources. A friend, a neighbour, at the barbers shop, at the saloon that healthy chat etaal. Remember, farmers sow their seeds to the ground but look up to heavens for the rains. If God never pick your call, no matter how you beg. . .bros you are on a long thing. Ps 121:1 |
We were chatting on tinder for a while, so I asked for a hook up. Yaba was the venue and it was a cool evening. I thought to make withdrawals before going but considering I was already late, I had to rush down with the last cash I had. Believe you me, we had talked briefly and I went for our orders only to be declined on my card. This was on both my ATM cards. I stepped out to some banks around and like my yoruba brothers would say 'iro'! no show. I learnt later that my cards were damaged. I was lucky she was kind enough to bail us out with her atm. I couldn't eat nor chat. Fidelity bank? Phew! |
Apc for the love of akara please stop. . .how do you cancel an election that was conducted by federal might? Who seats on aso rock? Pdp? |
octopusfreaky:. Am glad yours is a want not a need. But remember human wants are insatiable. And what you want now maybe different from what you would want in two years time. Identify what you need amongst the good guys around you and the rest I would say is . . .a love fairy tale |
@redwriter. . .one once wrote 'the beautiful ones are not yet born'. But suffice it to say, the beautiful once are somewhere lurked in coves and or masked as geeks and nerds or maybe the dude chasing his dreams and knows that hips, lips and fingertips don't just cut it but added added to beauty should be brains. There are good guys as there are good ladies. My guess is, your searchlight probably has been beamed on the wrong places with prisms of prejudices. E.X |
The ancient city. . . |
She seemed agitated inside the bus, her bottle of water sipped every 59second interval, praying that the bus gets filled on time. I had spotted her well chiselled face before entering the bus at ojuelegba. Stepped in, kept my calm and with my attention zeroed on my tab. Chatting her up had always been on the agenda and as the driver roared his engines a conversation ensued. Our chat? Poor. Struggled to engage intelligently, beauty had no brains and made me stack the odds aginsts the feminine gender. Am no sexist nor male chauvinist, but repeating an argument I had with a friend lately, why is there a paucity of ladies capable of holding a convoc beyond bellanaija and ice loves coco or the kardashian family? No noble course to champion? No held beliefs or philosophy towards life? Spare me the argument of 'it is how they are wired', wired as such and they scream gender equality? If you claim 'what is good for Boniface should be good for Boni-yansh' then grows some brains and necessary skills to thrive. Phew! Ladies life is beyond booty call and Calvin klien bags OK. Its about pursuing a noble course. No hard feelings |
I sat down recently and wondered what an atmosphere it would be to have crazy writing minds converge and explore each others work and improve finesse. Birthed out of that thought is 'the scribblers cot', a meeting of freelance writers and lovers of literary works. You think you have a piece what reviewing and critiquing? drop ur mail or bbm pin. Premiering on the 28th of February. Further details would be communicated via mail. |
We had been engrossed in a conversation for quite a while now, the atmosphere was charged with agitations and counter statements. It was one of those friendly arguments where there was free reign of statistics, Google and Wikipedia coming handy from time to time. It was exhaustive and exhausting all in search for superior argument. You know how these things could go sometimes. So we decided to call it quits: no victor nor vanquished, the journey still needing another two hours to be completed. You know that awkward silence after an elaborate argument where you are deciding if another raised topic would brand you a chatterbox or solitude encroacher. Yes! That was where we were when the question jumped off my mouth. “What is your blood group?”, “eeerrrrrrmmmm. . . .eeerrrrmmmm. . . I think iiiittttt’s AA,” she stuttered with a countenance of uncertainty needing validation. Friends, I was as surprised as I was shocked. This was because if she knew a lot, then personal information like this should be subconscious knowledge. I told her the story of the six year old boy whose parents rushed him to the hospital severely anemic and couldn’t even raise cash to buy a pint of blood seeing that he needed urgent transfusion. A colleague volunteered to donate blood but getting the child's blood sample was quite a challenge and before a blood test could be done for him he was already in the great beyond. Also that if that child’s parents had known his blood group with certainty and proofs then the child’s life could have been salvaged. “ Annabel, a blood type also called a blood group is a classification of blood based on the presence or absence of inherited antigenic substances on the surface of red blood cells. Some of these antigens are also present on the surface of other types of cells of various tissues. Several of these red blood cell surface antigens collectively form a blood group system.” I went ahead to explain that antigens are substances that trigger the body’s immune system to fight against foreign substance present be it bacteria, fungi and viruses. So also with blood that if the blood transfused a person contains antigens the recipients body recognizes as foreign, then chances are that such would go down with what is known as transfusion reaction (the body fighting against the transfused blood). And as such, a process intended to save a life boomerangs. I had to explain the ABO blood grouping system to her and how that some folks could be belong to group A, B, AB, or O. Schooling an adult on some medical knowledge could be likened to teaching a grade two pupil calculus. sharing the knowledge was worthwhile though. Friend, that was my blood group chit chat story, the big question being, “what is YOUR blood group?” You can walk into any ISO accredited laboratory facility (Pathcare and the likes) to determine your blood group. |
