I made my MRV payment by Bank transfer on Monday 23rd and till date no response, i opened a ticked on Wednesday still no response.
what would I do like this and I don't have time again.
I heard there is no waiting timeline. I need to schedule an appointment before the end of this year.

I paid on the 3rd of September but there was an issue at the bank. I realized that it was resolved yesterday so it took me to appointment booking but only Lagos populated the drop down menu.
There's October 2ND, and Lagos seems to have dates every month.

I filled Abuja in my DS-160, and even on the AVITS application but on the appointment calendar it is showing me only Lagos.

When did you pay visa fee? And when did they approve u? And in Lagos, what dates were you seeing? Are you seeing dates in October ?

Hey 🤠

1. On the day of your VISA interview, your assigned consular officer will open your electronic VISA application ( DS-160) , with the confirmation number of any DS-160 tendered by you. For example, if you have filled and submitted 100 DS-160s, and on your interview day, you tendered number 50 out of the 100 pieces of the confirmation printouts, that (number 50) is what the consular will use to open your VISA application and ask you questions based on what you filled on number 50. All other numbers of DS-160s are useless.

2. Just be certain that, if your interview location is Abuja, then your DS-160 has to be Abuja oriented. In this present scenarios, you have to attend your interview with both old DS-160 and the new one. Don't worry about how to cancel the old one in your portal.

* Another strategy is , after chosen another location and filling another DS-160 to match, you can use both confirmation to create a ticket , perhaps the AVITS can do the auto update , so that by the time you reprint another Appointment letter, it will carry the new DS-160 number. This is just my idea , not official pls. You can attend your interviews by stopping on number 2 idea.

Can you see the difference between Lagos and Abuja embassy,

Payment confirmed on portal yesterday, uploaded i20 yesterday night and picked date this morning.

OyoTunjiUSA, if we fill a new DS 160, choose Abuja this time instead of Lagos, how do we cancel the first ds160, and booking portal? Or what to do in this case? Could we just take both ds160 to the interview assuming we get an interview date in Abuja?

1. Try once more in raising another ticket , but, this time around merge your MRVs , I20s and SEVIS fee receipts (together as PDF attachment) in the request.

2. If the situation remains a stalemate, then yes it is possible to achieve your option B, but how certain are you that the situation will not repeat itself ?
If any one of you is a 2nd timer (you have attended the F1-VISA interview very recently), i will recommend you don't go for option B, but if you have a clean note, then so be it but, have it in mind that you are about to donate your previous MRV payments as a free gift to the USA embassy.

OPTION B.

3. You cannot open another profile b/cos double profile is not acceptable. Login to AVITS and cancel the present pending approval or delete your profile entirely, and start from afresh.

PS: You should have directed your post to the public. Some persons might have better solution to offer.

Do you think the Visa Officer considers you paying N90M for a two year Masters a good investment if you would be returning to Nigeria after studies? 1. NO. You cannot change Country, State and Location (Abuja to Lagos, vice versa) once your appointment is booked successfully, according to the new policy.

2. Open a ticket ( complain) on your AVITS profile with the copy of your Form I- 20, Sevis fee receipt and your Mrv payment receipt (merge it together as PDF) if you are having difficulty with your VISA appointment.


PS: I would rather you Checked yourself if you have done everything accordingly . I don't want to think you can win the USA embassy with escalation of issues. Why not expantiate your issues with the support - staffs instead of escalating ?

Really? Next month ending? Is that for spring or fall? Aha, I think you should escalate this to the embassy if there’s a better way to reach out to them
