Ayomide98: It isn’t always so bro, even though I feel most of these stuffs are relative to different VO with their perception and exposure…
Having some level of funding shows you have an exceptional ability that could aid your academic career and it actually gives the VO interest to hear from you as a perceived scholar.
Like the previous commenter said, full funding would relieve you of some questions from the VO, I knew a fellow with full funding and GA, she was only asked two to three casual questions and got her visa in the first trial.
Huge deficit speaks a volume to one having an immigrant intent coz the 35k you’re spending there would be earn you same degree in your home country. Hmm now I get it better. Thanks for the explanation. The last point of yours made me understand more. That’s right. People without any form of funding also get approved very very well, but I get the point that funding can remove some barrier during the interview |

Scholar212: lol don't know where you are getting your stats from. If you carry deficit of like $30k to Lagos or Abuja Embassy chances of denial is 90% especially with no prior travel history. Funding is a very good way to get approved. Approval rate for fully funded is more than 90%. Our economy is in shambles no VO will believe your parents or you can pay $35k for your COA. Very few get approved with huge deficits now This isn’t true. A person with a deficit of $30k will definitely get favorable response over a fully funded one cuz the one with deficit is paying his own tuition and covering his own expenses which help the US economy and that’s what the VO wants. |

OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
1. It is only recommended officially to fill your main VISA Application (DS-160) before proceeding with the scheduling of your appointment, because you will need to input your DS-160 confirmation number in the process. Although, you can use ongoing (the ds-160 that you saved uncompleted) DS-160 confirmation number to finish the task of scheduling an appointment, and go back to the DS-160 later.
2. Clear your browser history, restart your phone or computer and log back to AVITS. Your user account will display the calendar with available appointments (dates) , or the Interview Waiver ( IW ) confirmation. Just click on the " Pending Appointment Request on your dashboard in order to continue.
Best Wishes 🙏 Hmm |

Jboyossai: UPDATE: This is an update in case of anyone facing similar issue. Mine reflected this morning and it's now in the pre-approval stage. It took them over two weeks to process. Things I did which I don't know if helped was creating a ticket with my complain and attaching my payment receipt and also sending them an email with my complaints and receipts. How can I create a ticket? |

OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
1. Having full, half, entrance or average fundings in the 3- category of F1 VISA (Bsc, MSc, PhD) does nothing to help your VISA success, other than to help you clear school fees burden or ease you the burden of proof of funds POF.
2. USA F-1 VISA success is tied to 3-major requirements (1. Proof of Funds, 2. Proof of Ties, and 3 Proof of non-immigrant intent), in which every F1-VISA applicant must satisfied without leaving any one of those listed behind.
3. There are other abstract requirements , but let's leave those ones for now. Nonetheless, Any F1-VISA applicant with full tuition scholarship/ fundings , In the presence of a consular officer will be liken to a very beautiful lady, standing in front of a man. Such student, especially in the natural sciences, will be given audience to prove themselves as potential scholars.
In Summary
4. Having the highest fundings or scholarships does not guarantee your VISA success . You must satisfied other F1-VISA requirements. Consular Officers, sees F1-VISA applicants with good fundings/scholarships in some areas of study as potential benefits.
Best Wishes 🙏 Thought as much. People without funding have as much or even better chance of getting approved than people with funding. It’s better not to have funding or scholarships cuz the VO wants someone who’s going to USA to spend his own money |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 5:01pm On Sep 12, 2024 |
@OyoTunjiUSA, is it true that having funding (maybe full funding) can help an F-1 visa interview and can sometimes make your application look good in the front of the VO? How can one ask for this funding from ur school ? |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 12:30pm On Sep 11, 2024 |
OyoTunjiUSA: 🤠
1. When you asked the question, i responded (go back to your post) that you can actually use it but with strong reasons in the case you are facing a hard-line consular officer. Meanwhile, is it even worth mentioning? Encouraging laziness or putting A in the place of Z because it is permissible?
2. Your brother was not denied because he mentioned that he has a brother (you) in the USA. Are you a criminal or committing crime in the USA? So, how will mentioning his family residence caused a VISA denial ? INA 214b denial slip will keep you suggesting various denial reasons, so alight from that fallacy trailer.
3. Your brother in summary, failed to convince the consular of his genuine intention, post study plans etc, and might have displayed a braggart or over-confidence mien which is slightly reflected in your post above (eg he has his own 70% scholarship and we have a strong bank statement).
4. F1-VISA issuance is not a respecter of billionaires or celebrities, it's a respecter of its own rules & policies. I have the inclination that, that was not the only question he was asked but that's a by-gone.
5. A genuine F1-VISA applicant , after denial should apply immediately, once he or she is able to detect the undoing, but your DS-160 information even says more than 70% of your decision to the consular. Ask him to post his genuine transcript so that people can guide him.
🙏 When denied like that, I heard if you want to reapply immediately, they’ll ask you whether you’ve been denied before. If you say yes, they won’t allow you to see near dates when u want to book for appointment . What to do in this case? |
