Alternatively, do what works for you and that you feel comfortable with... this should not be an issue. I would prefer if either person voluntarily chooses to pay all or split, rather than one asking the other to pay (except in really unavoidable circumstances).

The idea is to have fun and enjoy while getting to know each other... who pays for shit would be the least of my worries (although I go still carry vex money, in case).

Whether you split bills or not, person wey go respect you go still respect you, so I do not consider that as a factor for a good foundation in a relationship.

So, you asked this question as a personal experience, not generally, and I am wondering if you will keep bringing other issues here for people to suggest to you what to do? well this is the first time this is happening to me , I have gone on dates where I had to paid for myself, or dates Where I at least bought something for two of us. But being asked such a question puts me a complicated position on what exactly to say or not say , so I’m like what the heck let me hear people’s opinion on it. Its my decision to put it up here which I’m totally accountable for. I’m not bothered about that.

I do not know if you are saying the truth. I did not witness the marriage and I have not heard her own side of the story. But if what you said is the truth of the matter, below is my opinion.

Your wife and her mother are extremely greedy and selfish. Your wife does not love you. If she loves you, she would have even borrowed money to support you. You used money to compel her to marry you.

But what about you? You are not better. Your tone and your logic show you may even be worse. You are the type that believes money is all that matters. That is why you chose a wife based on your ability to earn and spend money. You lavished money on her. But let me tell you what is about to happen to you. A serious marital crisis is about to hit your home. I do not foresee a divorce.
