DesChyko: Well, it's not like we are expecting anything less. US is a big brother to all African countries. This is a picture taken in the Oval office.
It is always a US President seated at the Resolute desk in any formal setting and it's not like we expect to see anyone else seated there; or 5 additional chairs arranged around it. Moreover, he is the host at the meeting.
Much ado about nothing. Trump should have at least stand up to have a photograph with them and sit down after. |

In conclusion, she will only spend 6 more years in jail if convicted or 5 more years depending on when the pendulum of justice tilts.

Interestingly, except for the penny, they ALL still remain official legal tender even though no one will collect it from you as they have become valueless. It is funny that many of us here spent some of those previous coins but did not even see not to talk of spending the coin made in 2006 and we are here in 2025

The future is tech. AI is taking over. Acquiring a tech skills should be a must in our educational system.
Years back I had to talk some sense into my young bro who wanted to study mechanical engineering " the same course I graduated wit but nothing to show for it and I had to switch profession". I told him to go for software engineering or cyber security. After all the argument he took my advice and now a graduate of computer engineering from FUTMINNA and his his doing so well for himself and the family.
After chopping books like Engineering Drawing with Worked Examples, by F. Pickup and M.A. Parker, and graduating wit a 2.1, I still ended up changing profession. I remembered when i told my brother i wanted to study mechanical engineering, he told me all of his friends that studied mechanical did not get job and doesn't even have any skill to start up anything. He made it compulsory i study medicine, my dad of blessed memory said i should listen to my brother, i agreed. I wrote the first Jamb with medicine as my choice, i failed. When my brother was not around, i have started working in an electrical store as sales boy and picking some skill from there, i picked another jamb form with my salary from sales boy work, i filled electrical engineering as my choice without telling anybody. Today I am an electrical engineer and it far pay off and better than me studying my initial mechanical engineering. |

DeLaRue: That's a very long road cutting across 3 States with several bad sections.
N15 billion can't fix it.
The sections between Ilesha and Ife towards Oshogbo needs complete re-tarring. I doubt N15 billion can even fix that section.
Ilesha to Akure is relatively OK, just needs minor patching.
Akure to Owo needs more patching.
I haven't travelled Owo - Benin for several years, but it used to be horrible after Ifon.
Hopefully N15 billion is just a start and more money will be allocated in future budgets. We are talking of dualization of road here, you are talking of patching. They want to make the road a dual carriage way from Ilesha to Benin. It is no longer going to be the same narrow single lane. |

thesicilian: In my own layman's mind, I'm wondering that if it's just malfunction of the landing gear, shouldn't the crash occur close to when they're about to land and as such at a reduced altitude with less casualties? As you can see from the video, for the landing gear, probably the wheel didn't come out at all or didn't come out complete. No tyre to roll and keep the plane balance on the run way, no break to hold to bring the plane to a stop. The plane continues to drag on the floor with the projection speed with which it came down until it collides with something. An object will continue to be in its state of rest or in its continuous motion until an external force act on it. |

Infotubia9ja: Them go write exam before dem go give them permission to dey practice medicine or treat patientsfor the abroad YES or NO This guy you don't know what you are writing. Don't confuse people, in your first post, you mentioned that before you can practice as a doctor or as a nurse, you will need to apply for a program/degree and start from the beginning. Writing an exam to get license to practice in a country is different from start a degree to get trained. Getting license is just like what we called a competency assessment. |
Education › Re: Is Nigeria Certificate Useful Outside The Country? by shunlet(m): 12:24pm On Dec 27, 2024 |
Infotubia9ja: For me, Nigerian degrees even if FIRST CLASS it's not actually useful outside Nigeria. Mostly in western countries i.e USA Canada Luxembourg etc.
That's why when people who relocate to this country who want to push on their professional careers always go back to school in those country. Reason I guess is based on their educational and teaching standard requirements. Sorry to disagree with you but your comment is not really correct. Just to let you know that our certificate is useful outside Nigeria. Many who get job offer straight from Nigeria before leaving don't go to school again, they got the job with their Nigeria certificate. Some got transfer from their company in Nigeria to abroad, they continue with their Nigeria certificate. If you get express entry to Canada or Australia, you have already converted your certificate to their country equivalent before leaving Nigeria, so you don't need to go to school again. Many people who look for student visa to japa are the ones that will need to go to school again after getting abroad. Since it is study you apply for, so you have to go to school when you get there. |

KnowledgePower7: As someone who have had near death experience and survived a very ghastly accident (3 died only me survived)
To tell you the honest TRUTH
I don't fear death anymore!!! Having had a taste of near death all I can say is dying actually feels like SLEEP.
You know when you are so sleepy that you don't even know when you close ur eyes. That's has it felt. Very peaceful like sleep
Then I felt a force drawing me out of my body through the center untop of my head. The movement was rhymtmic like a pulse
Immediately I left my body and was staring at it. Tried to touch it but if I approach it the body will look like it's near me but for some reason I still couldn't touch it.
Then I felt so free, energetic, and extreme bliss and was wondering WHAT THE HELL IM I DOING ON EARTH THIS PLACE IS SO MUCH FUN THAN EARTH
Then I looked at my lifeless body and was like I don't want to go back to earth. This place over make sense. I don't know if it was heaven or where I was I just know that the place was 20 times better than earth. One thing I didn't like was I was not in control of certain things I experienced there. Just like a dream, you have 50,% control of tge dream but you don't know what is going to happen next.
A force from nowhere just mercilessly drag me as if I be ant. Next thing I dey spin in what I could only describe as inside a metro tunnel. Like a tunnel dark Then the strange part I heard my mother shout my native name. She usually shout that name if she is angry with me. I was spinning and spinning next thing I wake up in real life very violently like say I get seizure.
The kind deep forceful breath that came out from my lungs as I wake up. Very painful
Thank God I survived Turns out my mumsi was praying that day when the fatal accident happened. According to my sis, they were praying normal night prayer then all of sudden mumsi started praying violently shouting my name My sis said they were looking at her as if she don kolo. The way she was shouting my nane Which explains why the voice shoutinf my name as I was spinning in what I can only describe as a dark hollow metro tunnel. It still gives me chills everytime I think of it
But having experienced what I experienced With full chest I can look death in the eye
I have zero fear of death!!
Which kind of affected me psychologically As I didn't care about anything in life
I started living life recklessly as I didn't care That is the only negative thing which I'm battling from that near death experience.
Took me 1 solid year before I could re orient myself back into society. I lost friends I became extremely introvert. Was having PTSD nightmares for months back to back.
If no be say my people hold small rabba They took me to psychiatric home That was my saving grace..
Still suffering from it but I'm constantly trying my best to re direct my life.
Whatever that place was, heaven or afterlife All I know is I want to go back there
and I pray to God that when my Final time comes l pass so peacefully and this time spend enternity in that beautiful realm. That tunnel spinning kind of experience was what my wife told me she experienced too when she was made to sleep for cesarean section during childbirth. She said the doctors were talking to her after the injection, then their voices started fading out, she stops hearing them and she enters a continuous tunnel spinning and spinning and then later started hearing their voices again and she came back to life. At that time, they have completed the cesarean section |

adolfHitler1934: That is the sad truth.
And each time I remember a lot of my friends and relatives gone, I feel very empty and lonely.
This world is a lonely place no matter how many people that surround you at any point in time.....in fact, as we age we become more lonely Valid point, loneliness comes with age. The friends you grow up with, will scatter to find their own livelihood, your siblings will marry and move on, you will leave your parent to loneliness. You will make new friend and they will leave you and move on too. You will bear your own children raise your own family and and later the children will leave you to find their livelihood too. I love Indian, as i watch in the movies, they keep marrying into one home and continue to expand. You will know your uncle, your cousins, your grandpa and grandma. As the world is developing, home is scattering and it keeps going on and on. We keep going around the world, settle small then move again. You are born and grew up in Owerri, got job in port harcourt, settled small, got another one in Lagos, then you move to Lagos, small time again you move to London, from London to Canada again. All this places, you will make friends and again move away from them. It is well with us in this world were we wonder about |

Soo Unfair Really so Unfair... Same thing i am going through right now. I lost my dad October 3rd, 2024. I keep remembering the time together with him while growing up, yes he is an old man but very active. Looks like we exist for some times on this earth then become a waste after. Why can't we live forever. We should just grow to a point then stop growing and continue existing. I remember how he used to tell me about his own late father, i used to be scared and was wishing he won't die. I started having the feelings that this man is going about some years ago when he will call me and tell me things i need to note down for future purpose, how i should deal with my siblings, how he want us to watch after each other etc, then he will say don't be scared because i am not going to die now. But today my father is no more, i feel so sad. I remember how he tells me he has missed me whenever i visit him. My dad feel fulfilled anytime he hear of my progress and achievements. I always strive and work hard to impress him and make him happy. I will travel home without informing him and then surprise him. Now i don't really feel the hustling spirit anymore, my father is no longer there for me to impress. I am now doing my best just for my kids, the cycle continues just like that on this earth. One day when i am old, i will go too and they will miss me😂 |

When you know that you will store it for more than one week, you will leave it and buy somewhere else if they have the one that has long expiring date. They have done you good by stating the expiration date. If you buy from normal small shops, you will not even see expiring date to guide your decision. I did my u-turn there and they stopped me and asked me to drive into their station but i refused. Dey deflated one of my front tyres and removed my from plate number. I packed my car and called a friend to inform him where i was and what was happening, i told him to come quick because i don't know what will happen next. Before my friend arrived, two officers came to drag me inside the station. I was taken to one of their oga's office and the officer that took me in said i broke their rule, they were talking to me nicely but i started dragging gun with him that i almost pull the trigger. It was then i knew there may be more trouble for me. Luckily for me, the superior officer did not buy into the other officers' story. He asked me what happen and i explained i came to the market to get baby food for my daughter, i needed to turn my car but everywhere was busy. I saw my friend's house and decide to do the u-turn there, since i cannot go to enemy house, my friend's is good for me. I told him the officer stopped me and i humbly request that they let me park and come down to meet them but they refused. I told him all they did to my car. The superior officer then ask who was that my friend that i saw his house, then i replied POLICE is my Friend, they all started laughing. He asked one officer to join me to remove my flat tyre and put the spare tyre. My friend i called initially arrived, the superior officer took me and my friend to the DPO office, he had already narrated the story to the DPO, the DPO advised us and ask them to give me my car key and let me go. |
