That was the same problem I had in my 2003 Camry. It’s accelerates on its own, I was just using break to drive. At idle it was around 1500rpm.

Machanic where just guessing... Chang This, change that. I spent over 100k without solving the problem. I hade to try my own way. First I change the throttle sensor, second I change the actuator( throttle body).

Could you believe me. It’s works like magic. That’s was what I did.

In this the case of CIVIC I think you should also look into that.

NOTE THAT Before changing it. I did a lot of research + scanning the car.

In order for the car to work well without the catalytic converter, you will need to do little modification. You should add a spacer to the post-CAT oxygen sensor. Howeve, the absence of CAT causes harmful emissions from the exhaust.

The catalyst I bought today is 95k. One naira no comot.

Hmmmm, did you run a proper diagnosis to know if your previous catalysts were the cause of the high fuel consumption?

High fuel consumption can be cause by other things

Yea... I did and it was detecting that the 02 sensor was bad and the air temperature circuit was bad. I changed it but was still getting high fuel consumption.

Guys... the fuel consumption in my 03 Camry was freaking high. Menh.... The only option I had was to change the catalyst and the O2 sensor.

The 2 catalyst was removed.

So guys what else can I do to get good fuel efficiency because I’m just changing one for now which is the front own.

Any disadvantage for not changing the 2 at once ?

well as for fuel consumption to calculate it, we need the number of litres you bought not the price

1 we need the distance you travelled
2 was the driving a city driving or high way driving
3 what was the average speed
4 the load of the car eg how many people where in the car

Just city drive..... I have a friend who have just the same 2003 Camry. The fuel economy in his car na die. The car saves his money in terms of fuels.

He can steam his car for 1 hour with AC on... The fuel will only consumes little.

I was shock... while is my own different. I had to conduct the scan.

The machanic told me the sensor is bad and the both catalyst was removed

is it misfiring ?

The major reason I scanned the car is that the car consumes so much fuel. 5k fuel can finish within 30mins with AC......... 50mins without AC.

The car shock me. That’s while I had to scanned the car.

The misfiring in the car.. I’ve not experience it. The car move smoothly. It’s just the fuel consumption.

wrong way of approach

the o2 code is most likely triggered by the misfire

the flow meter and intake air temperature circuit high out, and can throw a misfire code

1st sort out the misfire issue

2nd clear the o2 code

3rd see if it comes back
