The ST likes to just stay up, doesn't get involved much in play like the CF would. All forwards are basically goalscoring attackers, who with dribblings tricks and the like take the ball in and score an example is Benzema, Suarez as a CF, Harry Kane but a striker ST, top 9 is like a poacher, fox in the box, usually with their runs, positioning for lay ups, tap ins, headers and the like and they have limited involvement in build up, like Haaland, Giroud, Lukaku though some can play CF as well like Lewandoski. The ST is just in-between the center backs while the CF runs as them.

So a managers tactics defines who plays 9 and their role.

False 9 is usually SS without a ST, striker, someone who may play both CF and AM like Messi

It was with game I realized AM and SS are similar but the area they cover is different. Just like CF and ST have different roles and positions one, ST, is closer to the goal post. Aka poachers

Just as LF is different from LW and LM and LWB and LB. Most times LM and LWB occupy very similar positions. Then there's also LAM

LF closest to the goal post from the left side. LW is the widest play outside the box 18 from the left.
LAM in a 4231 the left player in the 3 behind the striker.

LM is a 442 like used by Ancelotti in Madrid left side midfielder
