[s] pheyikemi: You are even sillier than the mods. The access to internet and information made people think GEJ masterminded corruption in Nigeria. If we had access to the internet in Abacha's regime like we did in GEJ's, you'll know GEJ is a learner compared to Abacha and his then petroleum minister. Stop heaping Nigeria's blame on GEJ, our problem started with the North from the '60s. Back to the topic, if Bubu get liver, make e try am, we are watching and waiting. [/s] At least your brain allows you to agree some mods are silly. If nothing else, that should be about a score of 20 on IQ measurement. Not as weak as that of GEJ. Well done. |

He should add OBJ, Atiku e.t.c and others in APC alleged to have corruptly enriched themselves too then a lot of Nigerians will believe it to be holistic/sincere fight against corruption.
The selective approach makes me laugh at the monkey business aka corruption fight. Stop whining! GEJ took corruption to another level entirely. To win the title of Ineffectual Buffoon is not easy. The man didn't know anything happening around him. |

May posterity be kind to us.[/quote]Read before commenting. GEJ borrowed more than enough even when there was no need to. The IB borrowed when oil was above $100 per barrel when we should have had budget surplus. Consolidated public debt stock in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) annual report 2014 showed that between 2010 and 2014 the highest external loan by government was N1.65 trillion in 2014.
External debt for preceding years were N689.8 billion in 2010; N896.8 billion in 2011; N1.03 trillion in 2012 and N1.39 trillion in 2013. |

The Niger Delta has been cheated in Nigeria, and anyone who thinks otherwise is not a honest person. Not many think ND doesn't deserve better treatment. The question is: "how does blowing up pipelines develop ND region?" If anything, it sets the region back by tens of years if not hundreds. |

I wasn't the only one who saw it, most people insist that the said truck was having up to 700 corpses. let DSS come and arrest me.
Please stay off my mentions. I don't post for your type; you can't be helped. You choose to see and hear want you want, nothing else matter to you.
How did the panel of enquiry arrive at 300+? Did they exhume the corpses and counted all of them? I mean, all of them! [/s] Simple question needing a simple answer and you're going gaga! It shows you're a liar judging by your approach. |

LaClicKLaBenDin: Government of bias and lawlessness. Why am I not surprised? Of course I was in Zaria when the massacre took place last year; if they could kill armless minors in their hundreds, what's detention?
I was staying in a street beside the Shias, they were murdered in cold blood, and soldiers went as far as doing a house to house search in all the surrounding neighborhoods and killed the ones found hiding. We were driven out of our estate for 3days, we slept in churches. The corpses I saw in one of the trucks was more than 600 people but the official figures says over 300.
Most people on nairaland support this government of hate without knowing what is going on behind the scenes. They swallow every garbage the bought-over media dishes out to them..not me! I know what I saw! I know what I know! Nothing can be farther from truth than the emboldened. Did you count the corpses? How did you arrive at the 600 figure? |

Many Nigerians don't even know what "cabal" means.
There is no government in the world without a group of few people who can influence things. Not in the USA, not in the UK, not in Russia and definitely not anywhere else.
What should however be of concern is the type of influence the cabal has on the government. If negative, then the "cabal" becomes a loathed group. If positive, why not? |

gidgiddy: Arresting GEJ and wife for corruption is not actually the main issue. The real issue is will Nigerians also accept the arrest of Gowon, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Abubakar and Obasunjo? There was massive corruption under all these men.
What is good for the Goose is also good for the Ganda, if not, it becomes victimisation.
I find it funny that there is no call for the arrest of former leaders except the one in the land of the 5% Quite agree with you. However, the corruption under Jona was on a different level, never seen before. |

izombie: nobody is saying buhari shouldn't fight corruption but to do it without being selective. How can all the people in the past administration that are still in pdp be corrupt but all the people in the past administration that decamped to apc towards the end of that administration not be corrupt? Mind you that if buhari overlooks what people in his administration are doing, guess who its gonna affect, the masses. If I ask you for names of those you refer to, you'd probably mention Amaechi and .... God knows who. The absurd thing about the alleged corrupt practices by Amaechi is the fact that the state govt governed by his arch enemy set up a commission to probe his tenure as governor, the commission submitted it's report almost a year ago, yet the govt has not deemed it fit to prosecute him despite he not having any immunity. That tells the whole story for me and most of us. Amaechi is only being given a bad name for his role in removing GEJ. If not, Wike has everything he needs to bring him to justice. Who else do you think participated in looting our treasury with PDP-led FG then but enjoying executive protection under PMB. |
