Agriculture › Re: Cassava Farming Is Now Nigeria New Rediscovered Oil by Simcha: 3:05pm On Aug 28, 2016 |
Lesgupnigeria: In the past,Nigeria has relied so much on oil that other sectors of.the economy have either been abandoned or little attention are being pay to them;agricultural sectors which remain one of the abandoned sector. In the 70's and 80's,agriculture is the main drive of the economy generating hundred of thousands of jobs for its people but in this new millenium, opposite is the case. For the first time in the history of Nigeria, government are now paying attention to the agriculture especially the cassava as a crop. This is because Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava and also the economic impact cassava can make for the country and the populace. Thanks to the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan even though even though i am not a supporter of any political party. The believe is that proper partnership with the private sector will surely steer the ship of this government new-found-love to a glorious destination. I hope this short article can also encourage young unemployed graduates and investors to venture into cassava farming to help them create wealth and jobs for the people of this country. Our cassava farm management programme is ongoing and with the few hectares of land remaining,we are open to people that wants to earn a living and create wealth for themselves and their family. We set up farms, manage farmland for busy executives. We also are involve in processing and marketing of agric products. Email yusuffgbenga@gmail.com for more info. Our cassava management programme is as follows:
STAGE 1 Land lease - #5,000/Hectare 1st ploughing - #7,000 2nd ploughing - #7,000 10 Months improved TME419 Cassava stems #9,000 Planting - #8,000
STAGE 2 1st weeding - #9,000 2litres of N.P.K @1800/litre #3,600
STAGE 3 2nd weeding - #9,000 2litres of urea @#1,500/litre #3,000
STAGE 4 3rd weeding - #9,000 Harvesting - #5,000 Management fee - #40,000 Total cost # 114,600 Target yield = 25tons 1ton =#15,000 - #20,000 Income = #15,000 * 25= #375,000 Profit =#375,000 - #114,600 = #260,400 within 10months For more info email:yusuffgbenga@gmail.com how much is the cost of setting up an hectare of cassava farm now? Can you make a new break down of the cost? |

tanimola22: Two of your school's alumni were my colleagues abroad. Another one even did NYSC with me at one of the unbelievable villages in Nigeria. He was a very nice guy, my pardi any day, any time. Very yorubalic and funny guy sha.hahaha
Of the two that were my colleagues abroad, one is now doing a PhD in Quantitative Finance at a top 100sh university in Europe. The other one, I don't much about his current moves. But I guess he is also doing a PhD. These people graduated at the top of their classes, excluding the one we did NYSC together. In fact, all of them graduated from your same department. My advice to you, therefore, is to really do your best and graduate with the best degree class and grades you can get. There are many things you can do as a Mathematics graduate; be it in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Management, just name it, your skills will always be needed. You can even begin ICAN. My guy at one of the investment banks in Nigeria did Mathematics at naija's jaiye jaiye university. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant before graduating. He even won many prizes sef.
For jobs, you can work as a financial analyst, credit analyst, programmer(the top guy in my undergrad is currently a programmer at, make i no talk) and in fact anything you set your eyes on. Every industry needs analytically skilled people and that is the main area where Mathematics gives you an edge. Mathematics also trains you to be very flexible so that you are not rigid and can adapt to anything. Those theorems and proofs will help shape your brain. I am so happy I did Mathematics. I am sure you will also be happy if and only if you use your undergraduate time well.
So, go ahead and do very very well. The sky will be your starting point.
Yours truly, Tanimola22
PS: If your GPA is near at least a 4.00 and you are in your final year, then please send me an email. I have some useful information for you. See ma profile for my email addy. The subject of the email should be in capital letters and read: ILORIN UNIVERSITY. Remember the if BSc Mathematics or B.Ed Mathematics? Which one has more prospects and which one would you advice me to go for? |
