Let me clarify the two types of COC.

You can do jamb COC when its out. that one is done before postume. there is also ui COC, done after postume.

Now, if you're sceptical about your chances, I'll advise you take jamb COC. You can change to any other choice course of yours.

The reason I'm saying this is because you'll still have the liberty of choosing anything you like for yourself.

IF you wait till after postume before doing UIs COC, you'll be limited to only the available courses UI gives out. last year. there was no other course in college of medicine for COC. not even biochemistry or physiology. MBBS aspirants had to do COC to botany, chemistry and co, still, some didn't make it.

summary- if you wanna change your course, its best to change from jamb, and do your best in postume to gain admission on merit

Thanks, sir/ma.

Yes, there are UI post utme past questions. But, unfortunately, I don't have them. The past questions are usually available on UI's portal about a month to post utme.

Yes, you can definitely apply for COC

" Is there a certainty that I will secure the said admission? "
No, change of course is like a game of luck. It's not 100% certain you'll be offered admission through COC because those who'll be admitted on merit will be considered before those that did COC. So, admission on merit is still the best way of gaining admission, as it is certain, unlike COC and ELDS.
Goodluck!

Lol, I'm scared right now o. I don't want my Jamb to be wasted ooooo

Temilistic22:

First of all, congratulations for choosing UI and scoring up to that in Jamb!
UI uses your jamb and post utme score to determine your aggregate score, which will be used to determine whether you beat the cut off mark for your course or not.
For last year's, the cut off mark for MBBS was 71.875. So based on your jamb score, you need to score nothing less than 75.75(approximately 76) in post utme. So you've still got some chances!
"How and what do I need to prepare for post utme?" Well, I'll leave the experts here to answer that questions.
Once again, congrats!

Thanks, Temilistic22, for your congrats and for taking your time to answering me.
Biko I still need answers to the following quests:

Can I get UI past questions?
If I'm unable to meet the cut off point, can I apply for a change of course to secure an admission into the department favouring my score? Is there a certainty I will secure the said admission?

Not to discourage u. UKZN doesn't give admission to international students for medicine. But I know nbt is required for all those medical course. Cos I wrote it one year like that. I even went to ukzn I was told they don't give admission to foreigners, email the faculty to be sure oo. That was in 2014 sha maybe they changed now

Thanks for your responses! I don't mind changing the course then. Since almost unis in SA require applicant to write NBT, how can I go about it? I mean the visa of a thing.

What course are u applying for and is it undergraduate? U can only write NBT in SA oo. U should check the uni the deadline of when ur nbt should be done cos u can pick from the dates available.

Undergraduate medicine & surgery. I will be applying to University of Kwazulu-Natal where NBT is required. The school can only grant me an admission after passing the test. And I can't do the test outside SA. Since SA embassy don't issue visa except one first secured an admission, what kind of visa should I apply for? I already have a South African citizen as my sponsor.

The SA universtities I wanna apply to require me evaluate, my secondary school certificate, by SAQA, and to write the NBT(national benchmark test) as a criterium for getting admissions. My question is "will I have to travel to SA to write the NBT since there are no centers of the test in Nigeria? If will have to go there, what kind of visa should I apply for?
Note: I have a permanent South African that can cater for all my needs including accommodation, living and study fees.

my advice for you is that if you don't have money don't come to NOUN, because money can frustrate you at a point because I have a colleagues that he is thinking to drop out just because of money.God bless ur wy and decision but my school is really interesting in terms of reading courses materials or field trip u will enjoy it

Pleaase gimme a rough estimate of the cost of science student school fees in NOUN per year and 100lvl. Abeg

B.Ed is better dearie since you want to lecture. It's becoming compulsory now for every lecturer to have at least a diploma in Education, you wouldn't need that if you have B.Ed
