Time to take the kenyans here on the Factual lane...since it looks like most of them have been brainwashed A slum is a heavily populated urban informal settlement characterized by substandard housing and squalor. While slums differ in size and other characteristics from country to country, most lack reliable sanitation services, supply of clean water, reliable electricity, timely law enforcement and other basic services. Slum residences vary from shanty houses to professionally built dwellings that because of poor-quality construction or provision of services have deteriorated into slums. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Eritrean Ambassador to Kenya , Mr. Beyene Russom, was recently in Abuja as a delegate to the Africa Regional Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development. It was his first time in Nigeria, though he had longed visiting the country. “I love Nigerian cuisines because they are hot and spicy like ours. I love your pepper soup. This is not my first time of tasting Nigerian food”, he said. His love for Nigeria goes beyond the country’s delicacies. The ambassador is also thrilled by Nigerian jokes. In addition, the sprawling aesthetics of the nation’s capital held the envoy spellbound. He said, “this is my first time in Nigeria. I really wanted to visit Nigeria and it happened this time. I have heard a lot about Lagos and the Nigerian jokes. I am very happy to have come here. It’s the most populous; the most diversified country in our continent. And I think Abuja is the most beautiful city in Africa. Africa has many beautiful cities, but not as planned as Abuja, I don’t know about Lagos. “Let me tell you my impression. I remember when Abuja was being planned as a new city I never thought that it will grow this much, not really in the growth, but in the planning. I really appreciate the planning; the beauty of the city.” http://sunnewsonline.com/abuja-most-beautiful-city-in-africa-says-eritrean-ambassador/ |
Lionessza:According to a south african 2016 comunity survey. http://cs2016.statssa.gov.za/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/NT-30-06-2016-RELEASE-for-CS-2016-_Statistical-releas_1-July-2016.pdf#page=37 It estimated that 30,314 people – or roughly 2% of foreign-born people living in South Africa – are from Nigeria POST FACTS NOT OPINION. |
Lionessza:The last known data put nigerian population in SA At 30, 000 "NUSA spokesman, Eneka Ezinteje, told Africa Check that the 800,000 figure is an “approximated figure based on projections from current data”. The union issues each member with an ID card and collects data on the number of Nigerians from its 76 wards scattered across the country. The NUSA ID card is only issued to Nigerian passport holders. But Ezinteje couldn’t confirm the exact number of ID cards issued by NUSA and whether every Nigerian living in South Africa (including naturalised South Africans) have the ID card." 2016 data shows just over 30,000 Nigerians in SA The most recent data on how many Nigerians (and other foreign-born migrants) are living in South Africa is to be found in Statistics South Africa’s 2016 Community Survey. It estimated that 30,314 people – or roughly 2% of foreign-born people living in South Africa – are from Nigeria. South Africa’s 2011 census found this figure to be 26,341 . The United Nation’s estimate for 2015 was even lower, at 17,753 . (Note: In a blog post, University of Cape Town demography professor Tom Moultrie explains how these estimates were calculated and why they differ .) “There is absolutely no way that this claim is true,” Loren Landau , a research professor based at the African Centre for Migration and Society, told Africa Check. “If you look at Statistics South Africa data, there are only about 1.5 to 2 million international migrants in total in the country. Although these figures are undoubtedly imperfect, they are better than any other data out there. https://africacheck.org/reports/no-data-shows-800000-nigerians-live-south-africa/ And the population of SAns in Nigeria os much more than 200. |
