BusinessOkonjo-iweala’s Double Speak And Nigeria’s Debt Profile With Pic by sisicalabar1(op): 10:43pm On Jan 21, 2015
I used to think that it is only Nigeria politicians who have patented the art of double speak, but Nigeria’s unofficial Prime Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, new position on our debt profile has shown that technocrats are not insulated from the art.

I recalled how the global media celebrated Ngozi when she led the economic team put together by OBJ to negotiate our debt pardon with our creditors under the Paris Club. She affirmed that whatever money Nigeria saves by not servicing its debt would be channeled into development projects that would affect the lives of Nigerians, adding that after the debt reduction, Nigeria would use part of its resources to pay off the balance.

On the possibility of Nigeria returning to the status quo through the accumulation of more loans in the future, Okonjo-Iweala said that there was now a consensus among government players that the ”nation won’t get into the situation again”.

She resigned as Nigeria’s Foreign Minister on August 3, 2006 following her sudden removal as head of Nigeria’s economic team by OBJ. She left OBJ’s administration at the end of August 2006 in 2011, and was reappointed as Minister of Finance with the expanded portfolio of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy by GEJ.

However, contrary to what Okonjo-Iweala assured, under her watch, Nigeria has accumulated more debt. DG, Debt Management Office (DMO), Dr. Abraham Nwankwo has said Nigeria’s current public debt portfolio made up of both domestic and international borrowings stood at about N10.5 trillion compared to about N10 trillion in December 2013.

Interestingly, Okonjo-Iweala is not perturbed.

“Nigeria does not have a debt problem overall, but Nigeria has to watch its domestic debt. There is something called debt to GDP ratio; this is what is used in the whole world to measure the state of indebtedness of a country and in Nigeria, in whichever way you look at it, our debt to GDP ratio is 21 per cent. This is one of the lowest for a country of our profile worldwide,’’ she said.https://www.sisicalabar.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/SISICALABAR-750x350.jpg

According to her, UK and US have debt to GDP ratios of 89 per cent and 90 per cent, respectively, while Japan has about 200 per cent.

Isn’t this double face? What do you think?

BusinessA vehicle That Is Human-powered And Legally Defined As A Bicycle - Pic by sisicalabar1(op): 5:33pm On Jan 21, 2015
Currently on display at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit are two human-powered concept cars that offer an alternative vision of how a futuristic vehicle might look and operate.

“Future Cycles” from Ann Arbor, Michigan-based designers Cameron van Dyke and Rachael van Dyke of The Future People are human-powered vehicles that offer “the weather protection and carrying capacity of a car with the efficiency of a bicycle to create a ‘hybrid’ vehicle—half car and half bicycle.

Cameron van Dyke says that they wanted to see how far they could push the legal definition of a bicycle to create a carlike experience with low energy output.car-bike-inline-1

“In doing this we hope to get people to consider if there might be better ways to transport ourselves around the American infrastructure,” he says.https://www.sisicalabar.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Cyclone1.jpg.CROP_.original-original-750x350.jpg

Cyclone, which the designers call “a human-powered retro-futuristic luxury vehicle.” Two riders are required to peddle it from the front seat (with space for two passengers in the back). It’s made using a combination of boat-building and bicycle technology, with brushed aluminum details and a leather and mahogany interior.

Are you conversant with the Biblical injunction that command you to cut off any area of your body that makes you commit sins?. A man has just obey that command and with dire consequences.

A 27 -year-old man who worships with the Redeemed Christian Church of God had cut off his private from his body with a machete in order to concentrate fully in the ongoing 21 days fasting and prayer programme organized by the church.

This man ardently believes that fasting and prayers should be embarked upon with piousness decided to obey the instruction of the Bible that enjoined people to cut off any part of their bodies that will lead them into sin.

He said, “The adulthood has a mind of its own and it is capable of doing things which are totally out of my control. It usually gets erect every now and then, and konji sets in. And you know that konji is one of the things that leads people into sin.https://www.sisicalabar.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/RCCG-Member-540x350.jpg

” The erections were making me weaker spiritually and in the fast. That is why I cut it off. Even Jesus Christ said that we should cut off anything which will make us sin.”

PoliticsNeighbour2neighbour Sets To Dump President Jonathan For Buhari by sisicalabar1(op): 10:34pm On Jan 20, 2015
Have you forgotten Neighbour2Neighbour (N2N) organisation? N2N is the group that TAN replaced in the drive to mobilise Nigerians for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election process.

N2N’s philosophy is to align itself with any sincere, non-partisan and solution-seeking effort towards Nigeria’s nation-building objectives. I was reliably informed that N2N has finally decided to work for General Muhammadu Buhari for the 2015 presidential election.

The group, according to my source have commenced mobilisation exercise for its members across the country for house-to-house campaign for the APC presidential candidate.

PoliticsPDP Governorship Aspirant, Agbaje, Begs Dangote For N9 Billion Campaign Fund by sisicalabar1(op): 10:24pm On Jan 20, 2015
This is not the best of time for Lagos state PDP governorship aspirant, Jimi Agbaje, as he is faced with paucity of fund; as such he has turned to begging.

According to my impeccable source, the biggest challenge facing Agbaje, is how to mobilise fund for his campaign programmes. I was told that all his efforts at getting support from the private sector has not yield required dividends.

According to my source, “Agbaje met Alhaji Aliko Dangote recently and begged the Africa’s richest man for N9 billion but unfortunately, the business mogul turned him down, saying “I am also looking for money to invest in my petroleum refinery project.”

Could you donate to Agbaje’s campaign fund, please?

PoliticsPresident Jonathan Denies Having Illegitimate Child…saying The Report Is Cheap by sisicalabar1(op): 7:18pm On Jan 19, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan has announced that he has no child out of wedlock by whatever name.

https://www.sisicalabar.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/640x350xGEJ-SON-640x350.jpg.pagespeed.ic.fwv3gdVUbR.jpg
Dr. Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to President Jonathan on media, said his boss has denied the claim.

According to Abati, the report is cheap propaganda from the opposition party. He added that the timing of the report, coming in the heat of the election campaign, shows the desperation of some people.

He said: “It is good for them to know that propaganda and cheap blackmails do not win elections.
“Nigerians know who they want and who they will vote for. Churning out such blackmail story will not win the election.

“This is also coming at a time that the opposition parties signed the Abuja Accord meant to ensure that election campaigns are issue-based and do not degenerate into blackmail.”

Like Those comedians usually say, sometimes peoples problem can be so big that their joke wont sound funny.

Sweetlemon:
I just watched a hilarious edition of EL R8D on ebony life TV courtesy of EmmaohmyGod and Chigurl. There's this bitter after taste in my mouth because I realized that their sense of humour will most likely die a mysterious death when they become A-list stars. Why are our comedians like this?

I attended a wedding where Bovi was the MC. This was before he became popular. My goodness! We almost died of laughter! He presented us oven fresh jokes in the most unique manner. In fact, he was just something else. He soon became popular and even though he's still funny, (in fact, he's the only A-list star comedian that is still funny, and maybe AY) I have not enjoyed him the way I enjoyed before he became famous.

I have attended weddings/events with AY and basket mouth as MCs and I don't remember laughing even once. Maybe a smile here and there but no full blown laughter. AY is only funny in his shows, outside that, he's just there. But you won't believe it's the same guys that nearly cracked you to death during their hustling days. Even Julius Agwu is nothing to write home about at events. All they do now is charge outrageous fees just to show us their designer suits. Huh? Smh.

American comedians like Kevin Hart, Arsenio Hall, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Robin Williams (RIP) still make us laugh hysterically. So why are our stars forming like this? Could it be the psychological effect of too must hustling? Whatever, someone should tell these guys that this really not a good way of going international.

The latest gist from my friend who works with the largest mobile teleco in the world, Vodafone Group in the UK is that Vodafone is ready to buy Glo in an audacious acquisition scheme.

However, the big question agitating my mind is will Otunba Mike Adenuga, popularly known in the business world, as the Guru sell?Vodafone, with its headquarters in Berkshire, England, UK has a market value of about £100 billion.

That’s a lot of money.

Politics15 Great Nigerian Politicians That “buried” Their Children by sisicalabar1(op): 11:16am On Nov 20, 2014
Death, they say is inevitable or a debt we must all pay. But nobody want to go through the pain of witnessing the death of his offspring no matter the circumstances. This is the painful though that came to my head when I read the unfortunate story of how former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, lost his son, Ifeanyichukwu, to cancer.
Jim NwobodoJim Nwobodo

Nwobodo junior reportedly died at a private hospital in Enugu on Friday. It was learnt that the deceased recently returned from Huston Texas, US, where he had received treatment for the ailment. May is soul rest in peace.

It is with big heart and depressing mind that I script this piece. I take no pleasure in writing it but my job demand that I record a trend that I have noticed over time so somebody somewhere could start praying or consult oracles to find solutions to this gale of untimely deaths.

Why is the angel of death, misfortune and sorrow seem to visit the abodes of our politicians and strike their children at tender age? The list of politicians who have lost their children to the cold hands of death are many but I will limit myself to few very prominent ones.
