Let's open this thread again Are your opinions above still same on both cars? These cars are the hot cakes now because of their low fuel consumption. What's the current Toks price in your area? Drop your coments please. |

Had my es330 overhauled yesterday by the boss himself *Kingreign*. My suspension feels a lot better now. Top cover seals replaced, will monitor for oil leaks after a detailed washing. Just did the alignment and oil change as he recommended. Need some tyre replacement though. I was thinking about selling this car, but am keeping it for now, thanks to Kingreign and his team. Happy Father's Day. |

dadabashua1: they gave you advice base on the fact that you are coming from a V6,and anything v6 is talking about more power, reason why it looked like they talking muscle cars, make you know complain about less power tomorrow ,if you are coming from a 4 cylinder car all this discussion won't have come up,it very strange to be used to V6 and suddenly back to 4plugs without issues, but what did I know, you sound like someone that know already what he want what the point of asking and opening the thread then.? Bros be calming down. I haven't used a honda brand, i haven't even testdriven one. I stated earlier that i came from a Mercedes c200 i4 engine to a lexus V6, performance is not what am after, i need a daily beater and evil spirit appeals to me. I just need to be reassured that it's a good choice that's why i started this thread. But thanks for the pointer. |

kingreign: An acura TL 2004 model with a 3.2 (250hp) will destroy the ES absolutely. The I kid you not. Guess what? The TL offers even similar levels of refinement and luxury as the ES. The ELS audio system of the TL absolutely blows the Mark Levinson of the ES out of this world. The TL looks sharper and more modern and sleeker, the ES looks like a grand pa boat!
For an FWD, the TL handles very well, the ES is very bland to drive, not engaging at all. Kingreign is blowing hot. We don strike your chord. So what's your take on the 2011 evil spirit? |
Car Talk › Re: Trading In My 2005 Lexus ES330 For A 2011 Honda Accord by sixoath(op): 9:28pm On May 09, 2021 |
kingreign: It's no performer. You can't compare it with an infiniti G or an acura TL/RL of same year. Oga where you dey since? I am not comparing the es330 with any other highend performance car. Coming from an older C200 i4 engine, the ES is a performer in my little experience. I wanted to bring it to your place for a noisy brake fix, but you were out of town. |

king406: Get the v6. If you get the 2.4 it will feel severely underpowered compared to your lexus Thanks for your take. The es330 is a performer, no doubt, but a fuel guzzler. The ground clearance would've been ok, but the exhaust pipe hangs so low like an afterthought design. I am on a budget on fuel right now and toyota is not on my list that's why i am considering the evil spirit. |

speedfreak: Hello OP, good choice you made there, just a few things to consider before you buy, avoid the v6 if you're not a performance person, high mileage vehicles as I'm sure you'd be getting have certain defects that makes the vcm fail after a while, the 2.4l ivtech also has a similar issue but it's much more manageable and easier yo replace when it fails, also avoid Nigerian used models with the moon roof (Ex,Ex L,Lx s) otherwise you might have to deal with water leaks and that roofline is pretty expensive to replace. Overall it's a good buy as long as its not a lemon or abused one,go along with a competent mechanic before you pay. Welcome to the Honda family Thanks for your time. |

stick with the 2.4 liter engine. The 2.0 or V6 will make you unhappy short term. Thanks hottie. |

Kapilk: Thanks guys. Apologies for the late reply. I just finished work. I'm glad for this nairaland Forum. It's an eye opener for me. Actually, I bought my first Toyota corolla 03 from Cars45 for 1.2m and honestly, it was graded level C and ever since then, I have put in nearly 500k in repairs. I managed to revive the car now and I was thinking of swapping it with a Lexus ES330 I saw on their website. Sincerely, from what you guys just said, I think I better keep my corolla as it gives me perfect services now, rather than picking up a new trouble from cars45. I appreciate guys.. Once beaten... now u know |

Greetings to all lexus enthusiasts here. My 05 es330 ran p0420 & p0430 codes, something to do with catalyst efficiency. I used spacers (see pic) and the CEL disappeared. Car has been running 3 months now without issues, only jerks sometimes when I rev from a slow speed.
Question is how will i know if my cats are toast, now that the sensors are not feeding the system accurate data because of the spacers?
I no fit close eyes buy new cats now, no be this Buhari govt o.

Sup Kingreign? I just got me a 2005 es330. Steering wobbles above 50-60km/h, vibrates a bit when I brake. Done wheel balancing and alignment yet problem persists. Kazeem suggest I change both front rotors. What do you think? I also noticed fuel consumption is high. Are you in Abuja? If yes, how can I find you? |

@auhanson, I could use some advice here. Am a huge fan of yours. Driving home today my '94 w202 won't shift to 3rd gear, it revs high (as in neutral) and comes back to normal after some seconds. During the last oil change this month, the lub guy told me the transmission oil level is fine. Any idea what the problem could be? Counting on your wealth of experience. |
