Family › Re: What Is Wrong With Acquiring This Kind Of Apartment?(picture) by SixSeven: 10:38pm On Feb 25
Chijeep:
I told a friend who's in haunt for apartment in my area about the availability in this our neighbourhood and before he could speak my sister and my mom said is it not the same house that an old woman lived before passing away? And I was like is there anything wrong with it? But my mom stretched out words to debunk any attempt of my friend taking the apartment as she said the old woman have been living in the house for more than 40yrs before she died. That it's not good for someone who's not deep in the spirit to acquire a such house.
PLEASE IS THERE ANYTHING LIKE GHOST OR MY MOM WAS ONLY SPEAKING FROM TRADITION?
What you are haunting for is haunting you.

On a more serious note, your mom probably has more information than you do and 40 years is not a joke. Many people here are not even up to 40 so don't take your mom's warning for granted. She likely knows something that you don't know. Are there haunted houses? Just google the term and you'd be surprised. It's not a Nigerian thing. There are not only haunted houses, there are haunted places. You've been forewarned.

What is this one saying? What has currency management got to do with the strength or weakness of currency the no Central Bank in the world has control over? Are you ok?

Why can't they manage the currency when it was nose diving to it's present state? Why can't they manage it to where they previously met it or even stronger? Why can't they manage it to ensure the Naira equals the Dollar? You guys are just so annoying.
Your first comment shows how much you know of central banks, monetary policy and currency management. You have done well. Bye.

All of you have clearly proven beyond reasonable doubt that you can be educated yet be blinded and irrational in thinking because of your favorite politician or political party.

What is the sense in saying you stopped the Naira from gaining strength, is that supposed to mean you are happy the Naira should continue to be weakened? To whose advantage? Did you not promised t strengthen the Naira? Where is the sense in all this nonsense? How the helll will a weakened Naira be good for the economy?

Don't you guys reason at all?

BTW, No Central Bank in the world can influence the strength or weakness of a currency, If they can WHY CAN'T DO USE THAT SAME MAGIC WAND TO TURN THE NAIRA TO A DOLLAR.

Sometimes I dey wonder if una go school at all.
Simple task for you to do. Google Central Banks role in currency management. Do not reply me please, just do the research and enjoy it. God bless.

You know Shettima is an ex-banker and you would have expected better but what politics causes eh, leave it to God

We should be making the naira strong that we don't even bother about the dollar. Why is our economy pegged to the dollar's position? Many Nigerians are shocked when they japa and take dollars abroad and the locals are looking at you as if you are not okay. Except that country is poor or like tourists, most countries will inisist on the local currency.

Writing is a very important part of your life. I once wrote here and someone said that I used AI. Writing means that you can think. It means you can bring thoughts together, you can express yourself. It means you can express restraint and apply critical thinking before publishing. Why am I writing about writing? Because an IG that writes may not necessarily mean he will be good but from his thoughts, you can know who he is. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks hand writes. This IG has been journaling his career and thoughts for years since social media arrived. He has not abused the privilege of social media neither have you seen him posting cruise. One of his posts, I clipped it some years ago because he wrote about family discipline. You can document his history on his behalf by just curating his posts. Writing is comprehension, comprehension leads to understanding. Understanding produces wisdom. This post he has here is iconic and even if he spends 1 day as IG, he has told you where security should start from, YOUR HOMES!

Ok,now I see why marriages don't last if love is just an emotion. How mediocre is the level of your thinking to define love as An Emotion.
Love is a deliberate act that requires maturity, emotional and spiritual maturity.Marriage is for mature minds, mature minds are people that understands that love is not just an emotion.
She is actually right. Love is blind. When you spend years in marriage, you'll know love is not enough. The idea that marriage must be based primarily on romantic love became strongly emphasized in the modern West. It wasn't our thing. And I'm not saying we as a people don't love, but there was a more important reason for marriage. Marriage wasn’t just between two individuals, it was between families. That's why they placed emphasis on other people checking it out for you, not you going on your own alone. All those romantic things we see in movies are fallacies.

Africa prioritizes structure before emotions and it's not just us, Asians have this too.

Politics › Re: Lagos Is Pumping Itself Dry – Boreholes Are A Ticking Time Bomb by SixSeven:
We built Lagos indeed.

One of the things that never impressed me about Tinubu and I choose Tinubu because he had the chance to change this back then in the 99 - 07, was the failure to make Lagos Water Corporation supply the state. That was a monumental failure if you recognize how much Jakande did in 4 years for a Lagos of our dreams. Pure water made its debut in Lagos around the early 2000s. Government watched on. If you were a child who took water from the tap on the public, raise your hands up 🙌 If a government, whether it's Tinubu or not cannot provide the basic infrastructure such as water, light and good roads, F9 ❌ Yesterday, someone said luxurious is the most abused word used in Nigeria today. And the person said they use the term luxury because most Nigerians have not been given the basics or experienced it before so anyone can say their solar is luxury 😔 The defenders of the government never experienced anything better, so they think defending the government is better and constructive criticism is bitter!

Now, the IPP Tinubu fought Obasanjo for, Lagos has the golden chance to generate its electricity and do far better than what Abia's Orji is currently bragging about, but instead of them to ask questions, they prefer all of you to be fighting ethnic and religious fights so they can never be held accountable. Who loses? You the foolish people who let politicians play their cards on you. Lagos is trying to keep the environment clean when Fashola did his home work. Sanwoolu is still struggling with administering a clean city. Ambode came and visionscaped everything away. Yet, they say they had a masterplan. Fashola also blamed the FG for the electricity independence and they finally got to power in 2015. They've been there for years, no opposition but light up Lagos is what Sanwo-Olu is celebrating in 2026 after Ambode made that his first 100 days project in 2015. Make it make sense. Your leaders are evil. Instead of serving you, they corner your resources and always want to settle contractors so the money can come back to them. No light, no water. Bad environment, bad water. Bad waste, dirty water. Chai.

You all are comfortable with sleeping with your oppressors.

You provide your own electricity (generator)
You provide your own water (bore hole)
You provide your own road (patch)
You provide your own housing (build your own)
You provide your own drinking water (pure water)
You provide your own waste management system
And they tax you upon all of these. You must be so in love with yourself that you will allow a government abuse you this much. They tax you for not doing their jobs. Oyo State wanted to tax those who dug boreholes but they were quiet about the negligence of the state to provide water to the people. And they had an engineer as Governor. Your politicians are very very very very wicked people.

REPOST

Meta said you should talk to your neighbours as if they can hear you. That's how you know artificial intelligence from real. Have we tried talking to our governments? How Nigerians became comfortable with this thing is insane, some people use industrial generators that work with diesel. Now everyone is going solar too because of government negligence. Tinubu himself changed the power supply at the Villa to solar. GCFR
Generator Commander of the Federal Republic.

https://www.tiktok.com/video/7532602447609564421

Generator noise is not the loudest of your problems, it is the fumes that are the silent killers and probably one of the reasons for the increase in cancer cases in Nigeria without us knowing. Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a major component of fuel generator fumes. Carcinogenicity of these compounds has long been established. Those pollutants are not safe for your air and direct contact with your skin, water and environment. Imagine sitting behind the exhaust of a vehicle. That's what we are doing to ourselves.
If you cannot sleep well because of the noise, your health is affected. If you cannot hear well, because of the noise, your hearing is affected.
If you cannot breathe well because of the smoke, your health is affected. If you have the money, switch to solar but what sense does that make if you still live in an environment where your neighbours still use generators? You see why Nigerians need to solve this problem as a collective instead of doing I beta pass my neighbour competition.

Who did this to us undecided All I want to say is they don't even care about us

GildedTruth:
You’ve hit on a hard truth that many are afraid to admit. There is a generational arrogance where 'podcasting' and 'criticism' have replaced actual parenting. We’ve traded the 'rod' for the 'iPad' and then acted surprised when the child becomes a stranger.

But here is the 'Gilded Truth' that makes this worse: This isn't a fair fight. These parents are up against $400 billion algorithms designed by the world’s best neuroscientists to bypass the human will. Even the 'smartest' parent is bringing a knife to a nuclear gunfight. It’s not just that parents have failed; it’s that the 'Digital God' has successfully occupied the home. Showmaxing and streaming are just the symptoms—the 'Digital Lobotomy' is the actual disease.
Today's parents weren't prepared/ready for technology but if they were smart as they claimed, they should have copied the tech billionaires whose children do not use the same gadgets they give others to buy. Their own parents at least used what they knew from their own parents and passed it on, the Gen X and above said their parents were primitive and abusive and found every terminology for what their parents did that was wrong. They talk more than they put in the work and social media algorithms made them feel important. Talk is easy, anyone can talk. Their parents did more work than talk. Analysts vs pragmatists.

A presidential candidate in ANY nation must only travel in bulletproof vehicles to convey himself and his entire convoy.

Peter Obi now knows this golden rule and will surely abide by it going forward.
There is no global requirement for presidential candidates to use bulletproof vehicles; instead, security is typically a private or discretionary choice. For example, in the United States, major candidates only become eligible for Secret Service protection, including armored transport within 120 days of the general election, and they can legally decline this protection entirely. However, the present allegations are based on genuine errors which were immediately corrected as such the misinterpretation of figures do not reflect the official record used in collating and declaring the results.
Many of you don't bother about the topic, it's just mob justice and you take sides. I was on the INEC portal and I checked to confirm if what I saw was true. Don't just argue for the sake of it. Don't be a sheep. Question everything even from the person you trust. Anyone can make mistake but don't just take sides for the sake of it. That's sheeple movement.

If you add the numbers, 121 makes more sense and adds up. The PO also wrote it in words so it can't be 1219/7. That's what Rufai should have checked because I have seen results where the people had to sign beside the alterations. There are better things for us to argue about but it is good to have people check for errors. We have gotten to the stage where we can't even talk to ourselves, we see fellow Nigerians as enemies. Shame on all the sides for this bad behaviour. Kudos to INEC for the election results portal. Anyone can take their time and collate the results themselves. If opposition wants to take the win, work on voting and coming out to vote. If you all give up and believe everything has been rigged, sorry for you. If you want to beat the ruling party, it cannot be a slight margin, it has to be massive. Enough talk, do the work.

Rufai is not our problem. He is a problem because he is in the media and they don't like him. Why don't they like him? Because he is critical of their administration. That is what narcissists don't like. Narcissists are operators of propaganda. I am not a huge fan of Rufai because he goes overboard sometimes and likes to win an argument but I need him because in this life, if everyone is going one way, there is a problem. Also, he is doing the work of the 4th estate of the realm, to ask critical questions. So he has his own area of usefulness. What this Presidency wants to do and their party is to dominate all conversations and shut all of us down. I can see a pattern here. Sowore is their next problem too cheesy grin

He too I'm not a fan of his outlet but the government has to be held responsible and accountable for its actions. It is not about Mr Tinubu, it is the Presidency and the country first. Mr Tinubu will come and go. Even if they say he will rule forever, one day one day, he will leave as nature wants. This government is lucky, Obasanjo's government received heat from the international media that his information and communication team was very mature in handling. Repost:

You know when someone said if the government denies something that, it means it's true, this is one of the moments I think that may be true. Egbetokun had enough time to resign. People have rejected appointments and extension of service. In fact, I remember Jega was offered an extension, he said no, my tenure has expired and he left. So, this story no gel. It's likely he was asked to resign or he had to go by force, which is what Sahara Reporters wants us to believe.

Life lesson we can learn from this 👇

Know when to leave, that's honour.

For this administration, they don't know how to clean up things so it makes a mess of everything they try to paint as white. This IGP was one that was supposed to leave, the last person I think that had this kind of executive fiat privilege was Ehindero. The news does not look good if you could extend his service when he was supposed to leave since and now you are telling us he has resignedhuh Tell that to the marines. Didn't they tell this President that tenure extension could kill force moralehuh What happened to the Nigerian Army before the shakeup? The President could attempt to give his ADC an undeserved promotion using presidential power. There is a reason why we have processes in place. You people can keep saying it's rewarding of loyalty but Obama's words are so important now. Build strong institutions, not strong men. Indeed, if you must be referred to as your excellency, then the process through which you arrived in the office must be excellent. What we are seeing in this administration is not by mistake. Person wey skip 300 level go do final year project, na for project defense we go see masquerade dance.

Then why did Sanwo-Olu revert that decision and it only became worse?

Don't you think Ambode may have seen something coming that he tried to avert?
It was stopped by the assembly. Ambode met Fashola who was already thinking recycling to power, he took it back to ground zero. Again, the waste management system is clear evidence that there was no masterplan whatsoever.

SixSeven:
Great credit must go to Babatunde Raji Fashola For this cleanup before the people trying to rewrite history grab it, snatch it and run away with a revisionist history. See how they have adjusted the date to 2003 to make it look like it was Tinubu's work. Ole!!! This picture used to be 2007 vs any other date, now they are changing it and taking someone else's work just as they took Donald Duke's photo. What a person you must be not to be proud of who you are that you have to steal what belongs to others.

It was one of the first few works that BRF used as a signature of his organization as an administrator and performance as a Governor. Despite all these, the so-called builder of Lagos wanted him out in 2011 because in the laws of power, you cannot outshine the master. Those who knew it was because this man wanted to claim some credit for Lagos while on his pursuit of the Presidency just smiled. Ko si bi ẹ ṣe fẹ ṣe, all una lies na 💯. Just pray your loyalty is not tested as BRF said. This is Fashola's work and he was committed to his work on making Lagos a mega city.

Let no one deceive you with any master plan. The state could not sustain this achievement 2x, under Ambode and now Sanwoolu 🤡

When you tell them the truth the hate and fight you for it, Ambode was trying to transform LAWMA, Tinubu and his supporters chased him away because they preferred to play politics with everything, they saw LAWMA management as a tool for political settlement for their members and supporters, so they reverted LAWMA back to status quo.

Same thing they did with LASTMA, During Ambode's time, LAWMA comes 2-3 every week, but now sometimes once a month, Tinubu uses government institutions as a tool for political support, in the end the purpose of the institution is defeated for his political achievement, that's why Nigeria as a whole is the way it is today.
He too wasn't clean. Let's ask ourselves, how come it was working to a reasonable extent under Fashola and it stopped under Ambode. Ambode stopped a working process to bring in a firm to come do IT in Nigeria. A huge problem of our leaders is selfishness. They don't understand the call to serve, they just want to be able to chop in contracts. That contract was a disaster, so Ambode eventually worsened the problem. Who started the phrase “Nigeria is a Giant of Africa” ?.

He/She deserves a bed in a psychiatric hospital.

Nothing destroys an image of a Nation more than Islamic terrorism, this is why we are calling for the total ban on sharia law in Nigeria..

Nigerian image started getting destroyed since 2009 when the fruit of sharia started manifesting.. Now look at where we are today..
.
It is because you don't know the history of Nigeria. That was Nigeria in the past sha. There was a time where you couldn't enter Africa without thinking about what Nigeria will do. Nigeria was to Africa what US is doing now doing policeman and superman. You need to travel to some African countries to know how they still respect your country. Whether it's Sierra Leone or Angola, na then you go know wetin be giant.

Nigeria's foreign POLICY statement was literally AFRICA IS THE CENTERPIECE OF NIGERIA'S FOREIGN POLICY . Do you know what that means for a country as its policy statement? Unfortunately they don't teach history so many don't even know their country. Giant of Africa wasn't by mouth alone, Nigeria put in the work to earn that phrase.
