'Nigeria army said it has lost five of its officers, while three are still missing following a recent Boko Haram attack in Magumeri, a town in Borno state.

Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, the army spokesman who disclosed this on Friday, did not disclose the names of the officers affected.

However, TheCable, an independent online newspaper reports that one AC Oguntoye, a lieutenant, was among those killed in the attack.

Daily Trust gathered that the militants ambushed Oguntoye and his colleagues on their way from a shooting range competition in Munguno.

Usman said the army successfully repelled the attack. “Troops chased the fleeing Boko Haram terrorists up to Doho, Mina Maideni, Donari, Salari, and Lawari villages,” he said in a statement

TVC News, Dakhla - The Nigerian Senate has denied rejecting EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu because of corruption allegations saying lack of consultation and indictment by security reports meant it had no choice than to follow institutional procedures.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki disclosed this in an interview with TVC News Sumner Sambo in Dakhla, Morocco where he is attending an African Summit on climate change and food security with other senators'

Saraki also says the Presidency's failure to consult widely on Magu's nomination or on issues such as the summon of Customs Comptroller General, Hamid Ali,  is denying it of goodwill among senators.

Four female teenage suicide bombers killed two other men ( 6 people dead ) when they detonated explosives at Usmanti along muna Garage road at about 1. 15 am . 16 people who got injured were administered with first aid by rescue workers before being transported to the state specialist hospital and university teaching hospital in Maiduguri Borno state.

Obasanjo was born 5 March 1937, former Nigerian Army general who was President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007.
