The Police in Kaduna State has begun investigation into the case of a woman who allegedly tortured her 7-year-old step daughter, Zainab to death, Zuma Times reports. Details off the report are still sketchy, but Zuma Times stated that the suspect was arrested after the doctor found signs of prolonged torture on the child, along with recent injuries on her buttocks.The suspect said the child suffered seizures which made them rush her to the hospital, but the doctor, sensing incoherence in the suspect’s statement, invited the police. Unfortunately, the child did not make it this time.Cuts, bruises, and scars from burns and scald were seen on the deceased. The report stated that suspect has been detained and is being interrogated at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Command.

A fire outbreak at the popular Singer Market in Kano State has destroyed about 200 shops, reports say.

The inferno is said to have started in the early hours of Thursday, February 18, 2016, according to Vanguard.

An eyewitness, identified as Aminu Inuwa said that the affected shops were all located within the same building.

The incident has been confirmed by the director of the state fire service, Alhaji Balarabe Kabara who however failed to confirm the number of shops damaged.

“We cannot give you the number of shops affected but the fire had destroyed many shops,” Kabara said.

“We are yet to ascertain the actual number of shops destroyed as we are still battling to put out the inferno,” he added.

Singer Market, an international market for foodstuff and commodities, had also recorded a devastating fire outbreak in November 2014 during which goods worth over N20 million were reportedly lost.

2. Go to your blogger account and click on layout
3. On the layouy view choose any portion you wished to place tge ads....and click on "add a gadget"
3. From the next window that will appear, select the HTML widget
4. Paste your code in the box provided and finally click on save. That is it

Remember the ads will show blank until you are approved.

Late Aisha Isa Fagge was a new bride, with a 12-day-old marriage, when she was brutally murdered by yet-to-be identified person(s) in August 2015. Five months after the shocking incident, circumstance that led to her death remain unknown. Late Aisha, 20, was killed in her matrimonial home in Sharada Ja’en Quarters, Kano, found dead in her sitting room around 1:00pm when most residents in the area had gone for congregational Juma’at prayers.
Alhaji Nura Muhammad, the deceased’s husband told police that he found her lifeless body in the sitting room, with both of her hands tied with a rope. He explained that he had spoken with her on the phone around 10:00am and everything seemed fine, so when he got home and knocked on the door and got no response, he became worried. “A neighbour, Rabi’u Abdulkadir, joined me and we broke down the door, and entered the house to find Aisha dead,” he narrated. But the incident has been riddled with various and varying versions. While police say the murder was carried out by rapists, the victim’s family insists the murder was purely ritual. A family source told Daily Trust that the women who performed the cleansing ritual on late Aisha’s corpse did not see any signs of rape. “She was found fully-clothed with no sign of struggle or assault. Only her husband, Nura, can shed true light, as he was the first person on the murder scene,” said the source. But Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Magaji Musa Majia said: “Late Aisha was found dead, naked with her two hands tied with a rope, suggesting that she was raped before killed.” He added that police had during investigation discovered some bloodstains and semen on Abdulzahir Muhammad Saminu, one of the two suspects arrested. Saminu is the groom’s friend, while the other suspect is Rabi’u Abdulkadir, a neighbor.” The suspects were later arraigned before a Shari’ah court at Rijiyar-Lemo for a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder contrary to sections 221 and 145 of Kano State Shari’ah Law 2000. In a twist, when the case came up last Monday for continuation, the deceased’s husband Nura Muhammad, was also arrested on the premises of the court as requested by the prosecution counsel Barrister Lamido Abba Soron-Dinki. “We have strong evidence that Nura had a hand in the murder of late Aisha,” he said. Soron-Dinki said three more witnesses will testify during the next court session. Confirming the arrest, the PPRO DSP Majia, said Nura is being interrogated at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command. Earlier during the court session, Nura Muhammad as first prosecution witness, told the court that all he knew was that the two accused persons Saminu and Abdulkadir went to his house and his late wife informed them that he (Nura) was not around. However, while being taken to a vehicle parked at the premises of the court, Muhammad told newsmen: “Even if one of the two accused persons is my friend does not mean I am party to the murder of my late wife. Why on earth would I kill my own wife?” Alhaji Isa Fagge, late Aisha’s father, told Daily Trust on the phone that he was shocked by his daughter’s death, new of which he got while at work when his son Aminu called him. “I’ve left everything to God. I have lost her and she will never come back again.” He added that since the police have taken over the case, he hopes justice will prevail. Some residents of Sharada Ja’en spoke to Daily Trust, expressing concern. One of them, Ibrahim Muhammad, said: “We hope the police get the actual killers,” he said. My name is Nana Mustapha, I am 25 years old unemployed. I was married to Yusuf Galadima for 2 years. I would like to share my Divorce Diaries with you.
I met Yusuf in the oddest place, we met at the market. I went to change my Gold jewelry and he was there with his wife. His wife was clueless as to the gram and worth of the gold jewelry she was interested in and I decided to help. I noticed that he was ready to spend any amount for all the jewelry his wife chose…he didn't seem to care about money In fact he seemed irritated by our bargaining and ignored our pleas for reduced price.
I must say I was very impressed when he paid 750k cash for two sets that I helped his wife choose!! So I decided to ask the wife for her number, I got it right away, and we became close pretty fast.
Rakia was her name, over the following weeks I learnt a lot about this generous stranger... I did all I could to become closer to Rakia I learnt that his wife was unhappy in the marriage because they still did not have children after 6 years of marriage. The closer I got to Rakia the more determined I became to join her in enjoying Yusuf’s wealth and generosity. When she told me about their childlessness I saw an opportunity, I thought of a plan I advised her to start visiting malams and I even hooked her up with some that I knew as a kaduna babe I knew many malamai .
This girl trusted and believed me o, and pretty soon she was sucked into the web of malamai and bokaye ..she sold almost all her assets she sold almost all her assets to satisfy one demand after the other. I pretended to be a concerned friend I told him I wanted him to talk to Rakia to desist from seeing malams and bokas (babalawo or dibia) He ate it all up.
In fact by the time I offered to play the recordings on my phone, he was already convinced. I still played about 3 recordings and I watched his face drain of blood. You could literally hear his trust breaking.. My plan worked better than I expected because by the time Rakia came back from Birnin Gwari he was ready with his Saki biyu …signed, sealed and delivered. Mission Accomplished.
And within weeks Yusuf was in my arms seeking comfort and warmth, I welcomed him gladly With help from my spiritual adviser, by the time Rakia was rounding up her Idda me I was choosing asoebi. After the wedding, I was really settling and enjoying my new found life as a millionaire’s wife. My next plan was to get pregnant as soon as possible. All that wealth needed heirs I also told myself it was time to repent from following malamai and bokaye. And I stopped. But the temptation to go back was strong… I was insecure and I wanted to secure Yusuf for myself alone! Especially because Rakia had sworn to take her revenge. I had no peace of mind I had one malam in Kaduna that time, in Ungwan Shanu called Gobe da nisa.. I could trust him to do anything for me without selling me out. I also knew he was an expert in making men puppets for their wives and lovers. Though he was expensive I decided that in the end it would be worth it to turn Yusuf to my puppet and mijin hajiya. Only way to secure my position Gobe da nisa charged me about 500 thousand for the aiki, and I paid o… after all my husband was worth much more than that. He assured me that as long as I used the potion in his food and in bed, Yusuf would become my slave.
And truly it wasn’t up to 3 weeks that I noticed a change in my husband. We were talking and I mentioned I wanted to drive the latest BMW Kawai the next day he bought me a brand new BMW. The very same type I had mentioned! Slowly but surely Yusuf became my slave. My wish was literally my command. He became mine and mine alone.
He asked my permission for everything, even to go and pray Or to go to the bathroom. After a year the situation became terrible because Yusuf became embarrassingly dependent. He stopped going to his office and attending to his business. He was at home always, trying to bathe me or feed me or please me. The money was dwindling, no money was coming in. I was getting increasingly frustrated. One day I had friends over, I was entertaining in the living room when Yusuf barged to ask my permission to go to the bathroom. He was jumping and holding his trouser! Like a child “baby in je in yi pitsari?’ he asked, holding his trouser It was embarrassing to say the least. That was the last straw and I went to Gobe da Nisa to complain. He told me there was nothing he could do for me. He said the aiki was irreversible. So I went back to my mansion, devastated. Unknown to me,
Yusuf’s family (that I had alienated him from) were on my case, trying to get Yusuf to get back to his senses 6 months later as I struggled to get a solution to my problem, I realized the charm and its effects had started wearing off Out of nowhere he started visiting his mother more often and he went back to his business. I panicked when he started talking back to me and asking about Rakia.
Once again I ran to Gobe da nisa. He promised to do something and asked me to come back in a week’s time. He also asked me to come with 200k as payment.. I decided to sell my last gold jewelry to finance this latest job Ironic, right? A week later I went, money in purse to Gobe da nisa’s house… there was a huge crowd in front of his house, I wondered why… to my bitter shock and dismay I heard people whispering that he had died. Gobe da nisa yam utu? How can he die? On this day of all days?
My worst nightmare… I rushed into the house where I saw several women wailing and weeping… it was indeed true. Gobe da nisa had gone to the great beyond. And I was finished. All those women were just like me clueless and in trouble without Gobe da Nisa I fainted, right there in his compound. Next thing I knew I was in a hospital with my mother standing over me. As I came to grip with what happened I realized Yusuf was absent strange I asked my mother and she told me he went to buy my drugs. Alhamdulillah! At least I still had my Yusuf. The doctor came in to check on me and he told me I had miscarriage my 12 week pregnancy. Innalillahi! How would I get a fat share of Yusuf’s wealth and inheritance without a child? I had to get pregnant as soon as possible again Up till my second day in the hospital, Yusuf did not show up. He didn't answer my calls I was worried. And my mother in law came to see me on the third day. She was very cold towards me. I asked about Yusuf and she told me he wouldn’t be seeing me anytime soon. I asked her why. She rained curses and abuses on me.. She handed me a letter. “Ya sake Ni. Wayyo Allah na shiga uku.” Yusuf divorced me!! Everything was lost. His letter also said that he had begun reconciling with Rakia and he hoped Allah would punish me for what I did to him. That was years ago. I have been suffering ever since.. my story has spread like wildfire all over Kaduna and environs. The worst part is that I dropped out of school so I am not even employable. I have no skills. No future.
Basically I have nothing but my beauty. And even that isn’t getting me anywhere. My parents are ashamed of me, friends curse me and no man has come to show interest in me… komai ya qare I have been asking God for forgiveness for my sins. I have been trying to get Yusuf and Rakia to forgive me If you know any of them, please and please help me beg them for forgiveness. A panel set up by the Kano State Government to investigate allegations of sodomy among students and teachers at the Hassan Gwarzo College has found the school culpable in the offence.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the weekly Kano Executive Council meeting on Friday, the State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, said the panel has submitted its report and the school was found culpable.
He said the government, based on this report, had already directed the continued closure of the college pending the outcome of security reports.
The government has also directed all final year students to be transferred to other schools to enable them carry out their final secondary school exams.
Mr. Garba assured that serious measures would be taken against anybody found wanting after the release of the State Security Service and police investigative reports.
Already, the parents of one of the victims said they were happy with the outcome of the panel.
He said they will like to see those involved punished and compensations paid to all those hurt.

My Brother Ibrahim El-Zakzaky: it’s not too late to repent.
After registering my condolences to the recent loss of your three children who were gunned down by some elements in the military, I find it an obligation to help you see that some of your actions too are the contributing factors in this unfortunate avoidable tragedy.
What I fear most for you and your followers is that the consequence of this tragedy may further alienate your group from the mainstream society and create a cult -if it’s not already one – with disastrous consequences on you, your followers and the nation at large. For you especially, on the Day of Judgment you will have your account to answers.
My brother you have brought a lot of bad innovations among Nigerian Muslims that rather than unite the Muslims are further entrenching the divide without any added value to the worldly development nor the hereafter, but rather with serious theological implications in the hereafter.
What triggered my attention to your group now is the most recent close encounter I made with a procession of your followers on the highway from Kano to Zaria yesterday 8th Dec. 2014 on my way to Dutse. About four to six thousand youth and children trekking long distance for hours. I gave a two hour lecture in Duste and met them still trekking on my way back.
I cannot understand under which civil or religious law gave you the right and liberty to block one side of the double carriage road forcing motorists to cramp each other dangerously on one lane. If your actions is to propagate your creed, I am telling you, you will only attract the poor young ignorant miscreants of the society. Never the sane except of course the disgruntled.
The delinquency of your followers and the disturbance of public peace is what makes you and them an easy target of the authority. This happening when you can as well do very well without such unscrupulous public misbehavior. Disruption of traffic flow is in fact a sign of unfaithfulness and lack of civilization. In a Hadith narrated by Muslim, the noble prophet -Alaihis Salatu was Salam- said: “Faith has seventy something or sixty something branches. The best of it is the testimony that there is no diety to worship except Allah and the least of it is removal of harm from the road and shyness is also a branch of faith.” And Al-bukhari narrated “that the prophet himself use to remove injurious things and dirt from the road”. All this to make the road and traffic safe and smooth.
This is the good example you should copy. But unfortunately, instead of that, you are doing exactly the opposite by blocking roads and forcing vehicles to dangerously face each other on one lane displaying arrogance and lawlessness. Young men brandishing knives and unsheathed swords, beating their chest, carrying incitful placards and chanting hate songs.
How can you be the good servants of Allah when you are exactly opposite of what the Quran described them? Allah said:
“And the servants of the Merciful Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace. * And they who pass the night prostrating themselves before their Lord and standing. * And they who say: O our Lord! turn away from us the punishment of hell, surely the punishment thereof is a lasting * Surely it is an evil abode and (evil) place to stay. * And they who when they spend, are neither extravagant nor parsimonious, and (keep) between these the just mean. * And they who do not call upon another god with Allah and do not slay the soul, which Allah has forbidden except in the requirements of law and justice, and (who) do not commit fornication and he who does this shall find a requital of sin; * The punishment shall be doubled to him on the day of resurrection, and he shall abide therein in abasement; * Except him who repents and believes and does a good deed; so these are they of whom Allah changes the evil deeds to good ones; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. * And whoever repents and does good, he surely turns to Allah a (goodly) turning. * And they who do not bear witness to what is false, and when they pass by what is vain, they pass by nobly. * And they who, when reminded of the communications of their Lord, do not fall down thereat deaf and blind. * And they who say: O our Lord! grant us in our wives and our offspring the joy of our eyes, and make us guides to those who guard (against evil). * These shall be rewarded with high places because they were patient, and shall be met therein with greetings and salutations.* Abiding therein; goodly the abode and the resting-place.” Q25/ 63-76.
How can you be the good servants of Allah when you call other human beings beside him. We saw your placards calling: Ya Hussein. Hussein the Son of Ali – May Allah be pleased with them and all the companions- is dead. He can never answer your call and he will never. He will also deny you on the day of Judgment for calling him. The best you can do for any dead person is to pray for Allah’s mercy upon him. Allah said:
“And who is in greater loss than he who calls besides Allah upon those that will not answer him till the day of resurrection and they are heedless of their call? * And when men are gathered together they shall be their enemies, and shall be deniers of their worshipping (them).” Q46/5-6
My Brother, you have already lost three children on this path to perdition and shirk, so please repent and don’t capitalize on the ignorance of our gullible youth to mislead them. If you don’t correct them now, when you die, Allah will not forgive you for whatever deviation they may add to yours.
“That they may bear their burdens entirely on the day of resurrection and also of the burdens of those whom they lead astray without knowledge; now surely evil is what they bear.” Q16/25.
My Brother, I write you this open letter for others also not necessarily in your sect to get admonition. It is never intended to trigger a sectarian argument. It’s about public order and mannerism.
May Allah guide us all to his pleasure and give us the courage to revert back to the truth and what is right.

Ever since the arrest of Colonel Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser (NSA), many cans of worms have been thrown open, especially after his transfer to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
Since then, there have been series of other arrests and listing of some top guns believed to have benefited from the largess which the ex-NSA boss was clearly bossed before the end of the immediate past administration of Dr Goodluck Jonathan.

While Dasuki’s arrest is perceived in some quarters as another witch-hunt by President Muhammadu Buhari, several other observers have hailed the president for taking such drastic steps in arresting and interrogating the man who was said to be helping with the fight against dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
But, his arrest has led to series of unprecedented revelations by some of the aides of the former president as well as those who were in one way or the other connected to the office of the NSA.
Although he has (through his lawyer) since denied reports that he mentioned some names as his accomplice in the multi-billion naira arms deal scandal, EFCC sources insist that he wrote down his confession after being availed of a copy of the statement written by Shaibu Salisu, a former director of finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
Naij.com has therefore identified five facts about the arrest of the ex-NSA which Nigerians must know as the questioning and subsequent prosecution of the retired Colonel continues.
Dokpesi’s Confession
After his arrest by the anti-graft agency, the proprietor of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, told EFCC operatives that he actually collected N2.1billion from Dasuki, but stated further that the amount was used for campaign and publicity.
Raymond Dokpesi said he used the N2.1billion for media campaign towards the last election.
After the statement was made, the media practitioner had his house ransacked by operatives of the commission amid uncertainties about his involvement in the scandal.
As at the time of filing this report, an EFCC source stated that Dokpesi is among those who they have decided to ‘keep’ in custody to further help them with investigations.


​Aminu’s Arrest
While everyone was still trying to swallow the fact that the former NSA had been handed over to the EFCC for questioning and further interrogation, news surfaced about the arrest of one of his aides, Alhaji Aminu Baba Kusa, who is believed to be a beneficiary of Dasuki’s largess.

Alhaji Aminu Kusa is being accused alongside his son of being involved in multiple shady deals.
Kusa, a member of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the chairman of An-Nur Mosque in Abuja, is being accused, alongside his son, of charges ranging from criminal conspiracy, theft, forgery, diversion of public funds, to money laundering.

Dasuki’s Revelation
Nigerians were also stunned when the ex-NSA started listing the names of some top politicians in the country, especially Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers state in his confessions to the anti-graft agency.
While Chief George has said that he does not know Dasuki, the former Rivers governor is yet to give any comment on the said revelation by the retired Colonel.

But the singular fact that their names were mentioned at all by the EFCC sources point to the fact that they may be involved in one way or the other.


Ex-Minister Bashir Yuguda
Alongside Dokpesi and other unnamed suspects in the phoney arms deal, a former minister of state for finance, Bashir Yuguda, was nabbed together with other top officials from the office of the NSA over the controversial arms procurement scandal.
It was revealed further that EFCC sources confirmed that a huge amount of money, running into billions, meant for arms procurement was allegedly traced to the former minister.

This also clearly points out another anomaly with the scandal for which Dasuki is expected to make further revelations in the coming days.

Former Sokoto state governor, Attahiru Bafarawa
And in the most bizarre case of all the accused arrested, the Attahiru Bafarawa, a former Sokoto state governor, was said to have informed that he collected the amount linked to him for some ‘spiritual’ purposes, only for one of his aides, Alhaji Akibu Dalhatu, to issue a statement that it was not so.

In the statement, the aide noted that the story about the former governor collecting huge amounts of money from the former NSA, was concocted by some media practitioners aimed at rubbishing the image of his boss.
Dalhatu also informed that Bafarawa was not arrested, he argued that the ex-governor was invited and he honoured the invitation when he returned from his trip abroad.
Further revelations have since been made by Dasuki, as he informed that he was given an ‘oral’ permission by the former president Jonathan, to give out the monies which he gave out, and for which he is being presently questioned.
Nigerians will be waiting with rapt attention to see those who will be further mentioned in the confessions of the ex-NSA boss, as the court has also stalled hearing on his case.

Chief Executive of the Dangote Foundation, Ms Halima Dangote, has revealed that the ongoing construction of a multibillion naira state-of- the-art Operating Theatre and Diagnostic Centre at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, is due for completion next year.

Ms Dangote made this revelation when her team visited Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State at the weekend. She said the Operating Theatre and Diagnostic Centre will cost the Foundation N7billion. She attributed the earlier delay to technical hitches and said the new contractor (Dantata and Sawoe) has returned to site. She also said that the routine immunization programme of the Foundation is being extended to Bauchi, Yobe, Maiduguri and Katsina. She added that the Foundation’s Business School Project at the Bayero University Kano has gulped N524million, even as it injected N500 million into Kano School of Technology.

Ms Dangote also revealed that the Foundation is determined to build a 500MW electricity station in Kano. She described some of the projects as “game changing projects” to be completed in the next two years. Governor Ganduje said the President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has done a lot for the Kano people, and the people of Kano will remain grateful forever. He singled out the contribution of the Foundation to the fight against polio disease, adding that it was indeed a massive intervention. He said with the help of the Dangote Foundation, the state will soon be given its Polio Free Certificate. “We are ready to do anything to support your effort,” the Governor said.

He further described Dangote’s intervention at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital as massive, saying the hospital is one of the oldest in West Africa. The Foundation has also completed the construction of seven out of the 11 Primary Health Care Centres it is building in the state.

At a handover ceremony of one of the health care centres at Gwale Local Government, Ms Dangote said the construction of 11 health centres in the state will cost the Foundation N72 million.

At the handover ceremony, Ms Dangote said her father, Aliko Dangote, would prefer that most of his interventions are not mentioned in public for Allah’s sake. She however said the Foundation that she heads will continue to assist the poor and support government’s efforts around the world.

Also Executive Director Stakeholders Relations and Corporate Communications, Engr Mansur Ahmed, said the new health care centre will help the people in the community overcome most of their simple health challenges. He urged the people of Kano to always pray for Alhaji Aliko Dangote and support the Dangote Group.



The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Abba Kailani, expressed government’s appreciation and promised to support the health care centres through staffing.

Secretary to the chairman of Gwale Local Government, Shehu Haza who represented the chairman of the council, while commending the Foundation, said government will ensure that the health care centres are functional.
