Well some host allow you to connect to there server from anoda. If are using cpanel its easier to do. Click mysql->scroll down to see allow ip to connect.

A Seun said you may download Mysql and run locally. All you need do is go to the phpmyadmin and export the database then run it on mysql and all the data will be transfered.

You may go www.easyphp.org  to download and install apache,php,phpMyadmin and mysql with clicks.  Then its going to work.

This is no Miracle, its a luck. Wat i mean by luck is "Preparation + opportunity = luck".
He has prepared for it and he got it. Sometime you wont expect something and it will happen, thats miracle. Good for him.

Has to if that can happen in Nigeria: until people start to think beyond "yahooyahoo"(net fraud) then they will see that; there is more to the internet than that. It can happen if we start NOW.

I don't also see anything bad in that. Assuming u bought the domain for about ten years before you are able to sell it, what about the maintenance fees? you have also invested time and money to hoard the domain.

As you know : business is all about profit and loss, sometimes you do and loss and other times u gain. see www.elagos.com, www.lagosians.com a friend bought it some years ago and he hasnt sold it but keep paying the fees. If he had liked he might have sold it .Big Men have approached to offer something but he hasnt. He may decide to sell it later but not for $10.

I have all the cafe contact information in the locality. Thats something to start with.

I also wish to take it nation-wide.

But one has to consider somethings :

1. cafe wont be as lucrative as it is now. (alot closing down.)
2. less people will use the cafe in some years to come.

well am not being negative but its a bottom line thought.

Its possible and we can do something about it with some more features added, its gonna be successful.

I have thought about this idea for some years back, and i acted upon it.

First i wanted all Nigerian cyber cafe networked, so you will be able to browse book for night browsing online, buy bulk time, win free browsing hour and browse in different cafe with a common ticket.
I commenced the project but it was a bit tasking, no fund no support.
Then i went deep into web development to enable me do it myself.I started small by starting from my own community (ogba-ikeja) giving people ability to compare prices of cafes, hours of work, working days and some other services the cafe offer. That gave birth to www.ogbaonnet.com (its working really fine but for like two weeks now, its for maintenace.)
