Why the tiles on the the kitchen wall if it will be completely cover with the cabinet? if at all there will be some space that will shows the tiles why not map out those space, do the cabinet first and then follow up with the tiles? I may be wrong, but I thing this will save a lot of money and some inches in kitchen space.

THanks Boss for the Observation. What your observation does to us is that it gives us the feel of Making sure we thinks deeply and more broad minded in sketching out our future inventions.

Anyway to answer Question from Oga Qc1. It is truly cheaper to Run it the way you have spoken, but the price difference isn't significant to the Total fee used for the Kitchen and also if tomorrow you wish to change the Cabinet and its layout, you can do it without having the challenge of making sure you follow the already existing layout pattern. You can change the design and Cabinet all in total.

As for comments from Oga @FastShipping I too Rather the Kitchens without Tiles or Kitchen with very few Tiled walls like the walls around the Cooker, but be aware of the Culture in Africa. Our kitchen exercises are heavier than that of the over seas. What they do in the Kitchen abroad is mainly just Microwave and other light cooking.Unlike our Soup making, Pounding, Washing Plate, washing leaves and others that Happen. When you have that, you'd rather clean tiles than Paint walls at all times.

But to round this all up. I am always with the school of thoughts that they way we like our house to look is the way it should always look, regardless of the location. So you are allowed to make your Kitchen look like that, as far as it suits your life style

The second picture was the picture of tile I saw today in the store sold at $2.99 per sq.ft. They seem to look alike.

I do not do the mixing of the Screeding Portion. That is the Job of the Screeder. They know the Ration at which they mix

The cost is quite high, and they are charging 250 per square meter for labour and 850 if they get the materials
Do you mix these screed materials yourself? What ratio? What do artisans charge in Lagos for screeding?
They claim POP does not endure over time. Whats your take on this?

On a fair note, They are correct with their recommendations, always good to do it the right way from the on set. But since they are screeding inside the house and not outside that is prone to water from rain falls, you can use POP and you'll be ok. To be on the safe side, that's why we add Bond to the Mix. Also their charges are fair enough too.

I just stumbled on this thread and all I have to say is Bravo!!! Keep up the good work Skimanski. I am eager to see the finished state of this wonderful edifice, particularly the rooms. The wardrobe doesn't look too sturdy but making it work with the limited space you have there is really brilliant. Is that a guest bedroom?

MAIN LOUNGE WALL DEMARCATION

The idea behind the Height of your space is how you want to feel when you stand on that space. I am very sure no one wants to stand in a room where you can touch the ceiling or almost touch the ceiling. that means it maybe be fair to say the higher the better, but thats not also the case. the Higher can sometimes mean worse. so it boils down to a height that works for you. As much as you do not want a Short space, you do not also want an outrageously Tall space that makes no sense, and that also give you Pillars unnecessary stress.

What most people do is 10ft, but I do 11ft at all times. 11 ft gives the space this Majestic feel like its a rich house. But 12 ft might be slightly too high except we wish to use our POP finish to drop it down a bit to a more comfortable feel. However the case, it still boils down to what you like.
