Baby girl just did it. Wao:

First of all, to all the people who are already millionaires out there through genuine hard work, I'm sending you a very big shout out. I celebrate you. It's not easy making money genuinely at all.
I feel awesome about myself, I know it's not a big deal for many, but to me, it is.
I want to appreciate God for the wisdom, for making me smart, intelligent, kind in business, not fraudulent and very active.
I want to appreciate myself for not giving up on this vision. I have always been trying hard to break this limitation and make my first million naira, but it's been so difficult.
For a very long time, since I graduated without any meaningful job, despite all my efforts to get a job, all to no avail.
Is either one old man is promising you job, and inviting you to his hotel room to take advantage of you. or people telling you to borrow money and buy a job. In a country where the intelligent ones without connections and money are left to struggle and die in poverty with their potentials.
I have always put pressure on myself to become successful. I have been trying to raise money for my business. Over time, I discovered, taking a loan is not easy, following men, is not an option either to my kind of person. I don't even consider that as an alternative, I always see myself as too dignified to trade my body for money. It's a personal decision though.

I'm not from a wealthy home, my dad is late and my mum has tried her best. as a young girl growing up, I've always desire to be extensively rich and I know I can achieve that.

I'm so excited last night, was the first time in my early thirties, I owned a million naira in my account and it's all mine, from my hard work. This money was gotten out of continuous saving ( little-little money). I didn't give up even when most times, I lose money, I have daily expenses, bills from every sides for my family and the rest challenges, I still made it. I'm into buying and selling and I have done well this time.
Congratulations to me. I'm a supper young woman. I'm so proud of myself.
Thank you Lord for helping me. I can say it anywhere that you have been my everything.

Share your experience, the first time you made your first million naira?
Me, I was so excited, I sang worship songs throughout, I was even crying.
What are you doing to make money legally?
Share your experience with us too

I'm so happy for you. May God continue to bless your hustle.

Crime / Re: Robbery In My Neighbourhood In Abuja by skultrick(m): 9:49pm On Mar 04
Hungerbadoo:
Robbers came to my neighbourhood on sunday morning robbing from one house to another between 3:20am-5:00am in the morning. They first robbed a nearby house with no security fence where they collected two hundred thousand naira, and also went away with pepperd stew. Next is my kinsman's home where they tied him up and also made away with his laptop, phones and a Tvs motorcycle.

Another neighbour was not spared as he was stabbed on different parts of his body and left to die.

I've made up my mind to relocate from the area immediately my rent is due before it's too late.

He should go. He is the only reason we lost that game. His style is that of Mourinho and with that, we will never survive any attack minded team. We were so lucky to scale pass SA.

Defensive game is outdated. The modern football is massive attack, massive defense.

Some people are blaming Iwobi, while he didn't perform so well in that game, he literally had no one to pass to because all men dey back. With massive attack, any attacking midfielder will excel because he will easily see who to pass to.

Pasiero should simply go. As a staunch supporter of mourinho he will never change his tactic. He should go, he has done his bit.

So basically, the peg it at that rate to steal more with no questions asked. You might hear things like budget padding later.

If the naira falls further, will dey account for the extra since our economy has now been dollarized.?

I don't think Nigeria will ever meet up with 1st world countries until we have working institutions that can thoroughly checkmate every single public office holder.

Hi guys!

I hope this my post gets to the FP, so I can get insights from a wider audience; even I know some might not make sense, but one thing I've learnt from the short time I joined this platform, is that - sense dey inside nonsense.

Pardon me, my write fit dey a bit lengthy.

I currently work with a multi-national startup coy. My net pay is a bit above 400k naira (this's at the moment), I've worked for about 2 years. I'm married with two kids and expecting the third.

Now my dilemma is that, I've not been able to save up funds, I feel like my living condition doesn't reflect what I earn. Shingbai like this, I no get for account. The last I could remember, I go deep hand for forex, e nearly give me hypertension (I lost about 2m). I still dey pay debt wey I incur as a result.

Now where I need assistance is, looking at the amount I'm earning, how do I spend? Please for those that will be kind enough to give suggestions, let it practically explained, as in help me break am down to the amount wey I suppose spend, how I suppose spend am, and wetin I suppose save.

I believe say many family people dey here wey get better experiences.

Thanks 🙏.

Just in case you eventually see this comment, oga the truth is that 400k is very small.

I am a single man, and I over the last 6 months I spend on average 300k.

Mind you I don't have a girlfriend, I don't club, and I don't womanise.

I have to squeeze to spend 300k

So of you have 3 people to feed and very frugal, perhaps 350k would be enough. Which leaves you with 50k savings. No school fees yet.

You main aim should be to earn more that's the only way because inflation is very high and naira is very weak for a country that depends mainly on importation.

Experts are already forecasting a weaker naira in 2024.

You need to start a business, at 1m should do.

To save for a business, find a way to cut down on reoccurring expenses, even if the family have to go hungry for a while. If you can save 150k in the next 6 months you should have almost 1m.

This is one of the advantages of weak currency. Weak currency increases international when the base country have enough to/for export.

This is one area the Japanese Yen thrives over other currencies while the Chinese manipulates their currency to weaken it and increase trade. This is one of the big problems Donald Trump had with them.

Nairaland / General / Hurray! Nairaland Is Back! by skultrick(m): 9:33am On Dec 21, 2023
First thing in the morning, I visit naira land for top stories. Its like my daily newspaper.

So 2 days ago, I visited and lo and behold our darling nairaland.com wasn't accessible. I'd thought it was small problem not until I couldn't reach the site the whole day.

I went to twitter to see Seun post an update but what caught my attention is that most of the comments kept calling Seun a bigot.

Well, I'll like to state that nairaland hasn't live up to expectation when it comes to moderation of comments. But then, have you visited Reddit, twitter and even Facebook, what is the difference between the comments there and here?

My point, it's almost impossible to regulate users comments on a large forum as this. Importantly, Seun put a disclaimer that is very clear and visible to all.

Besides, the beauty of this forum is the faceless nature that allows anyone to drop their opinion.

Another issue I want to point out is why is a mighty site like nairaland at the mercy of some jerk

I have a very small site and I do backup every single month. This means if my host wakes up one morning and say get out, my site will be running on another host in max. 30 mins.

I don't know much about servers, but nairaland deserves its own self hosted server.

Nairaland should be independent because depending on a host in a 1st-world country where rule of law is very active is very dangerous.

That's it, I'm happy to see nairaland is back.

You can't buy a full chicken for N6,500. Unless it died and the owner wanted to sell it off urgently.

The presence of the head, leg and liver shows that it was either slaughtered or it recently just died cos frozen chickens don't come with heads, feet or liver.

Currently, 1 kilo of the smallest chicken lap (4pieces) is 4k. Two kilos would be 8k. This chicken you're claiming to buy for N6,500 is way over 3 kilos.

And if you must know, live broiler is 14k. The biggest size...So either you tell us the story behind how you bought a full chicken for such amount, or you stop lying to our faces.

Most of the people here saying it's a wonderful deal haven't bought chicken in months (or even years) I bought a live chicken 2 weeks ago for 14k with abeg, and bought 2kilos of chicken laps just yesterday. So I know how much these things are sold.

Chicken that I bought right in my neighborhood is what you writing all this long epistle.

By the way, I don’t know where you buy live chicken for 14k. I have never bought chicken for more than 10k, and no matter how big it is, I will not pay for any chicken more than 10k.

Exactly what I told the guy, he asked to choose and it wasn't easy making a choice. With a scale, it's straightforward and easy.
