chidi4sam: I didn't spend Naira. I have not been to Nigeria for the past 5 years. I spent AED to AUD. When my wife left UAE July last year, she paid initial school fees of 20k AUD. Other expenses should also be approximately 20k AUD. I didn't show POF because I submitted my UAE business licence and a notorized latter to immigration online portal. Her flight to Australia cost 10k AED. I don't know how much it would be in naira presently. As at today, 1AUD is 870 Naira. Do the calculations. Please note, there are lots of new immigration policy that has been implemented recently. Do well to visit Australian immigration website. Last year, my wife did not write IELTS or any other English test. But now, it has changed. Before you start, please double check Thank yoi |

Mcslize: Visa AUD$4640 for one person. That's roughly about USD$3200. If you have dependant, each will cost extra AUD$2000 per dependant wife or children.
Assessment of your qualification/skills AUD$965. That's roughly about USD$650.
English test USD$125 depending on how fast you are able to get the required scores, or else, you have to reseat it.
This is just a sample for Engineers. So, sum everything up, you should have an idea of what it will cost you for the whole process, excluding flight money and upkeep money. Thank you |

Gerrard59: Special thanks to Treadway!
I hold nothing against OP's thread or his relocation. His choice, which I respect. However, I refuse to hold the notion that a toilet cleaner in Australia lives a better life than a permanent staff banker in Nigeria. The other day, Nairalanders argued that being a skyscraper cleaner in the UK is better than a bank manager in Nigeria. That is totally nonsensical! I don't look at earnings conversion as they are pointless, but professions and standard of living.
Anyone can decide to move from being a doctor to cleaner in the abroad, no problem. But don't come online to state that someone flourishing in his/her career in Nigeria is worse than the cleaner in the abroad. It does not follow. As I argue, you compare oranges to oranges, not oranges to apples. Compare the cleaner in the abroad to a cleaner in Nigeria, NOT a cleaner in the abroad to a career professional in Nigeria. A truck pusher in Nigeria who moves to become a cleaner in the abroad has won the lottery and improved. However, a seasoned professional who does the same has not done well.
We have to be honest in what we say. In all of these nonsense you are saying you obviously failed to answer the big question “WHY DO YOU WORK?” You work because you NEED money. If your so called career doesn’t earn you more than the toilet cleaner abroad, then you are obviously wasting away your life. |

Usefulsense: Last year, I sought the opinion of Nairalanders concerning my plan to move to Australia. My major worry was my age (48) and also considering that my net salary in Nigeria was a little over a million Naira per month as the financial controller of a manufacturing company in Onitsha.
To be continued shortly ......... Congratulations sir on making it to Australia. Wishing you all the very best. Please if may ask, how much did it cost to migrate only you to Australia. I’m looking to migrate too but will really appreciate first hand info on cost. Another thing, I’m single. Do you think I will feel very lonely in Australia? Are there many black sisters in the country? Thank you. |

Beauty4brain: Baby girl just did it. Wao:
First of all, to all the people who are already millionaires out there through genuine hard work, I'm sending you a very big shout out. I celebrate you. It's not easy making money genuinely at all. I feel awesome about myself, I know it's not a big deal for many, but to me, it is. I want to appreciate God for the wisdom, for making me smart, intelligent, kind in business, not fraudulent and very active. I want to appreciate myself for not giving up on this vision. I have always been trying hard to break this limitation and make my first million naira, but it's been so difficult. For a very long time, since I graduated without any meaningful job, despite all my efforts to get a job, all to no avail. Is either one old man is promising you job, and inviting you to his hotel room to take advantage of you. or people telling you to borrow money and buy a job. In a country where the intelligent ones without connections and money are left to struggle and die in poverty with their potentials. I have always put pressure on myself to become successful. I have been trying to raise money for my business. Over time, I discovered, taking a loan is not easy, following men, is not an option either to my kind of person. I don't even consider that as an alternative, I always see myself as too dignified to trade my body for money. It's a personal decision though.
I'm not from a wealthy home, my dad is late and my mum has tried her best. as a young girl growing up, I've always desire to be extensively rich and I know I can achieve that.
I'm so excited last night, was the first time in my early thirties, I owned a million naira in my account and it's all mine, from my hard work. This money was gotten out of continuous saving ( little-little money). I didn't give up even when most times, I lose money, I have daily expenses, bills from every sides for my family and the rest challenges, I still made it. I'm into buying and selling and I have done well this time. Congratulations to me. I'm a supper young woman. I'm so proud of myself. Thank you Lord for helping me. I can say it anywhere that you have been my everything.
Share your experience, the first time you made your first million naira? Me, I was so excited, I sang worship songs throughout, I was even crying. What are you doing to make money legally? Share your experience with us too I'm so happy for you. May God continue to bless your hustle. |

Rexymania: If they start to correct the white, you will notice that they are more corrupt than we are. Infact, they are the ones that taught us how to be corrupt Yet their country works far more than ours, the reason many of the black morons including the embezzling foolish politifians like to send time in their country. |

Crime › Re: Robbery In My Neighbourhood In Abuja by skultrick(m): 9:49pm On Mar 04, 2024 |
Hungerbadoo: Robbers came to my neighbourhood on sunday morning robbing from one house to another between 3:20am-5:00am in the morning. They first robbed a nearby house with no security fence where they collected two hundred thousand naira, and also went away with pepperd stew. Next is my kinsman's home where they tied him up and also made away with his laptop, phones and a Tvs motorcycle.
Another neighbour was not spared as he was stabbed on different parts of his body and left to die.
I've made up my mind to relocate from the area immediately my rent is due before it's too late.
File photo used for illustration Please can you state specifically where in Abuja. |

Sports › Re: AFCON 2023: Should Jose Peseiro Stay As Super Eagles Boss After Final Loss? by skultrick(m): 12:24pm On Feb 13, 2024 |
He should go. He is the only reason we lost that game. His style is that of Mourinho and with that, we will never survive any attack minded team. We were so lucky to scale pass SA.
Defensive game is outdated. The modern football is massive attack, massive defense.
Some people are blaming Iwobi, while he didn't perform so well in that game, he literally had no one to pass to because all men dey back. With massive attack, any attacking midfielder will excel because he will easily see who to pass to.
Pasiero should simply go. As a staunch supporter of mourinho he will never change his tactic. He should go, he has done his bit. |
