Fellow Nigerians, before I get into my main gist of today, let me quickly apologise for my inability to write this column last week. Truth is I had a mental block, pure and simple. Contrary to speculations that I couldn’t write because my great heroine, Hillary Clinton, lost her election, I was just so physically and mentally fatigued because this is one year that I’ve worked so hard on every project at hand. There was no doubt that I was solely disappointed that Donald Trump won the American presidential election but I was able to adjust quickly. My darling mum had taught me about the wisdom of the ancient. You can put your all into any project but the results ultimately remain the exclusive preserve of God. Only God determines the winner or the outcome.

There is so much to learn from the political trajectory of Nigeria. What happened in America had happened repeatedly in our dear beloved country. I will explain in a jiffy. Who would have expected Alhaji Shehu Usman Shagari to defeat a political colossus like Chief Obafemi Awolowo? Who would have expected a Shagari to beat a political philosopher like Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe so black and blue? Who would have expected a stupendously wealthy man like Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, without any political experience to take on the likes of Baba Gana Kingibe and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and come out victorious?

About 40 people were kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be cattle rustlers in Zamfara on Friday, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Friday’s kidnap occurs about a fortnight after over 40 people were killed in the same state by gunmen who stormed a mining site.

Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara has, therefore, ordered full investigation into the circumstances that led to Friday’s abduction of over 40 persons in Maru Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor, Ibrahim Dosara, and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Friday.

Alexandar Vera, a former Texas teacher who admitted to having sex with her 13-year-old student has pleaded guilty.

She pleaded guilty on Wednesday to aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Vera met the 13-year-old boy who was a student in her 8th grade English class during summer school last summer, according to court documents.

ABC news reports that a sexual relationship developed between the two thereafter.

Vera was an English teacher at Aldine ISD’s Stovall Middle School.

There are concerns in diplomatic circle that the American president-elect, Donald Trump, may appoint his daughter, Ivanka, as ambassador to Japan

Photos of US President-elect Donald Trump’s landmark first talks with a foreign leader show his daughter Ivanka was present, underscoring the family’s influence as he readies to take power.

In the meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the mogul’s Trump Plaza residence, Ivanka — a model-turned-business executive — was seen seated as the group conversed in the opulent reception room.

Media were shut out of the gathering in Manhattan, but images released by the Japanese government also showed Ivanka and her husband, real estate developer and publisher Jared Kushner, standing and chatting with Abe.

Ivanka and Kushner, both 35, have emerged as key advisers to Trump, who shocked the world by beating Democrat Hillary Clinton in the November 8 election.

World leaders have scrambled to establish ties with Trump but Abe was the first to see him in person since the vote which has provoked anxiety over US foreign policy and its commitment to security in Asia.

As the November 26th governorship election in Ondo State draws near, every concerned Nigerian, particularly those conversant with the history of Ondo politics, have every reason to show concern and voice out opinions that will not only ensure a free and fair process, but also guarantee security of lives and properties before, during and after the election.

Events of the past few days have further raised the need for the above. We will recall that only few days ago, the APC Candidate and its party, were preoccupied with the distribution of Bread and cash for votes in some parts of the State. This was after series of reports that thugs allegedly working for the APC, attacked in Owo and some other parts of the State, some loyalists of the candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the election, Chief Olusola Oke.

Reports also have it that these attackers have, threatened to launch further attacks on the AD and its supporters by claiming that “We have the Federal”, meaning they are assured of the support of the Federal government. Why AD? Some of you may ask. The fact is not farfetched. Today, the AD, has become the toast of the average Ondo State resident, the soaring popularity of its candidate, Chief Olusola Oke has become a major threat to the APC and other political parties, eyeing the Alagbaka Government House in the State. Day in day out, the camps of the APC and the PDP majorly, gets depleted as their members in hundreds leave to join the Rescue Train and positive Leadership being offered by the Alliance for Democracy in Ondo State.

As keen observers, we are not unmindful of the antecedent of some of the key actors in the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC). We are aware that their preference for violence is crystal clear for all to see. Already, Ondo State people are blaming the APC for cases of violence in the state, especially the attacks of the past few days.

A very notorious kidnap gang has been uncovered by security forces in a special operation launched to rid the world of the menace of hostage taking. This criminal gang, who has taken hostage of people of all tribes and nationality all over the world was formed over 6000 years ago. They have been found to operate in all countries of the world and have a target of kidnapping the young, the old, the rich and the poor. Everyone is a target of this gang, hence, the need for everyone to be informed and alert to avoid being held by this gang. Over the years, people, families, communities, cities and continents have been held hostage by this notorious gang.

Investigations into the activities of this gang, has revealed that their major strategy employed in the abduction of victims has been “Deception” and “Enticement”. This strategy seems to have been employed successfully over the years. It is this strategy, which is unlike the militant approach of many other kidnap gangs, which makes the activities of this gang very elusive and keeps their nefarious activities off the headlines of the national dailies and radio/television news bulletins. Victims are first enticed with some kind of juicy offer and then deceived into following the kidnappers all the way to the hold. In fact, the first recorded case of this attack took place in a particular garden, in a place called Eden, where the victims were enticed with a very delicious looking fruit from the forbidden tree. Most of the victims of this gang don’t even know they have been held, because of the deception employed by these kidnappers. Blindfolds are also used on the hostages to keep them from knowing where they are and finding a way of escape.

Investigations also reveal that the strongholds of this kidnap gang are located where security forces and the strongest military forces cannot access. We can conclude conclusively that this gang operates in a place called Spiritual realm. It would take a force skilled in spiritual warfare to attempt any rescue operations to free these hostages. Meanwhile, the kidnappers have slammed an outrageous ransom on the hostages. They demand a payment of blood and insist that either the hostages pay with their blood or the blood of any other who can die in their stead. There is therefore a very urgent need for a rescue force to be mobilized to engage these kidnappers and effect the release of the hostages.

Today, the world faces the greatest threat, it has been besieged by this evil kidnap gang, yet the News bulletins do not report this. I like to appreciate the effort of ABC News network for bringing this case to the fore.
The Kidnap gang as reported in the news, has been around for over 6000 years. The leader of this gang is Satan and his deputy commanding officer is called Sin. These two, together with their agents, have held many captives, in fact, everyone that was born into this world beginning with the first man Adam and the first woman Eve have been hostages to this gang. A large size of world population is presently being held by these kidnappers. Over 3 billion people worldwide, by conservative estimates, are still in the hold of this gang. In the news, the strategy of deceit and enticement was reported and this is employed as soon as a baby is born, as he gets to the age of accountability, the ploy is intensified until he yields to sin’s appeal.”

“And the Blindfolds?”

“Yes the blindfolds are just the perfect devices Kidnappers use to hatch their nefarious plots. You see, the blindfolds keep hostages, who I shall refer to as Sinners, from knowing where they are, where they are being led to, and who their abductors are! This is the reason sinners do not know their dangerous state and cannot see that Satan is leading them to Hell….It is the blindfolds! It is the blindfolds that keep many people in several false religions as Budhism, Islam, Hinduism, Animalism, Polytheism, Occultism and many others, even Judaism.

Kidnappers’ holds are not places you should like to visit in the physical, because victims often recount their ordeals to include torments of various forms. The same ordeals are also the lot of hostages of Satan and Sin. Often, diseases, sicknesses, failures, shame, barrenness, defeat, suicide are some torments Satan metes out on his hostages. Sometimes however, these kidnappers treat their hostages as VIPs. They can sometimes serve “McDonalds” fries, “Mr Biggs” pies and assorted delicacies to their victims. It is this ploy Satan employs when he gives fame, success, power, and riches to some sinners and makes them content to stay on in his hostages camp. Well, it is the same place Satan is leading all his hostages, including the VIPs, to….Hell!

It is to avoid this horrible ordeal and the hellish end that awaits these hostages, that God set up this Special Military force of which I am the Captain. We have the commission of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to effect the release of all hostages. We are sufficiently equipped to engage the Kidnappers on all fronts and in all levels. Our intervention is strategic and we have so far rescued several billions already, many of whom have since joined our special force code named “The Great Commission”.

The first stage of our intervention has been meeting the ransom condition demanded by these kidnappers. Because everyone was held by this gang, no one could die to set another free. The Son of God had to come down to this world to pay that ransom. Jesus Christ came to be a man, and was the only man who never sinned, hence the perfect ransom for all men. His crucifixion on the Cross and His shed blood was the ransom God paid to free all men. This event took place over 2000 years ago. He had since resurrected from death and gone back to Heaven in glory and is being expected to come back soon and take along with Him all the people we can free from these kidnappers.”

“So sir, how do people, I mean hostages, benefit from this intervention?”

“It is simple, but nevertheless most important. I like to summarize what the hostage has to do in three letters; A B C. This is what they stand for,
A – Acceptance: This requires that the hostage has to realize he has been held and is a sinner and needs help.
B – Believe: This requires that the hostage must believe the joyful news of the ransom Jesus Christ paid for him or her over 2000 years ago.
C – Confession: This is the last most important stage where the sinner makes an open confession of Jesus Christ as the new Lord of his or her life and pledges total allegiance to Him, hence, renouncing Satan and Sin.
These three things done, Satan has no option but to let go of his captive.”

“What happens if Satan plays smart and refuses to let go?”

“Yes, Satan has been known to be a very crafty fellow and wouldn’t want to let go. This is why our special Military rescue force will now intervene in the second stage of the operation, to forcefully release these hostages and free them from the guilt of sin, rehabilitate them and stop any torments Satan seeks to continue to mete out on them. We have the Word of God as our major weapon, and our weapons are mighty through God to the pulling down of all strongholds. I can assure you that these two stages of our strategic intervention have been very successful and there are many freed today who can testify to these facts.”

Godwin Obaseki has been sworn in as the fifth civil Governor of Edo State.

Obaseki was sworn in by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Cromwell Idahosa, after taking the oath of office at about 12:20pm, amidst jubilation and administration from a large crowd of supporters.

The Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, took his oath of office earlier at about 12pm.

Elderstateman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark, has blasted Niger Delta militants for the resumption of hostilities in the creeks despite moves to broker peace with the Federal Government, describing the militants as criminals.

A visibly infuriated Clarke, especially after the November 1, 2016, meeting of Niger Delta leaders and stakehokders with President Muhammadu Buhari, made the statement in Warri, adding that those still bombing pipelines were misguided, describing them as enemies of the people.

The former Federal Commissioner for Information at an enclosed meeting of PANDEF in Warri disowned those responsible for the hostilities but however appealed to the Nigerian government not to be distracted by the development.

He urged the Buhari led administration to continue working on the requests made by his group.

The recent ransom paid to Boko Haram in exchange for the release of some Chibok girls have contributed to the recent upsurge in the killings and disappearances of soldiers engaged in the fight against the insurgents, senior military sources have revealed.

The military men said despit the denials by the Federal Government, money was paid to the sect to secure the release of the abducted girls.

It was learnt that the insurgents demanded for $50m for the release of the girls but about a quarter of the sum was eventually paid.

According to Punch, the Nigerian Government paid the cash in two currencies – the naira and the CFA Francs to the leaders of the sect to facilitate the release of the girls.

The Federal High Court, Abuja has admitted Femi Fani-Kayode to bail in the sum of N50 million and one surety in like sum.

The court, however, remanded him in Kuje Prison pending the perfection of his bail condition, Vanguard reports.

Fani-Kayode was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before Justice John Tsoho on a fresh five-count charge bordering on money laundering.

The ex-aviation minister was accused of allegedly collecting N26 million from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and using the money for media campaign.

Count two of the charge reads: “You, Femi Fani-Kayode, converted N26 million cash paid from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and using the money for media campaign.

Investors saw $337 billion wiped off the value of securities that comprise an index of global bonds in a single day Wednesday as Donald Trump’s election as U.S. president sparked concern his plan to boost economic growth will lead to a surge in inflation.

The selloff spread further into European bonds on Thursday, as traders caught up with moves in U.S. Treasuries. Speculation that Trump’s victory and a Republican-led Congress will lead to a wave of spending, spurred the likelihood that inflation will pick up in coming months, which would in turn erode the value of bonds.

The decline in bonds saw Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Broad Market Index drop by about 0.7 percent on Wednesday.

“Right now bonds are in some trouble,” said Barra Sheridan, a rates trader at Bank of Montreal in London. There is some concern that Trump “will be more fiscally expansionary, he will look to spend more money.”

The U.S. 10-year yield was three basis points, or 0.03 percentage point, higher at 2.09 percent as of 12:09 p.m. in London, according to Bloomberg Bond Trader data. The yield jumped 20 basis points Wednesday, the most on a single day since July 2013.

The tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, fixed January 11 for continuation of the asset declaration trial after the defence concluded its cross examination of prosecution witness, Michael Wetkas.

Nigerian militants on Tuesday bombed a state-run oil pipeline near the southern port city of Warri, the second attack within a week, a community leader and army officer said.

“The line which was undergoing repair after the previous attack … was billed for commissioning either today or tomorrow,” before the latest attack, chairman of Batan community Dickson Ogugu told AFP.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday shared a classroom with students of Samuel Ogbemudia College in Benin city, Edo state.

Buhari, who is on two-day working visit to the state, sat with students shortly after commissioning the school refurbished by the administration of Adams Oshiomhole, governor of the state.

The president had promised to be committed to quality education in Nigeria.

During the 2015 election campaign, Buhari promised to improve Nigeria’s teacher-student ratio by employing thousands of teachers across the country.

Under the N-Power scheme handled by the office of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Buhari government said it has employed 150,000 teachers to serve in communities across the country.

Contrary to the claims by the Kogi State Government that Governor Yahaya Bello is healthy, investigations, on Monday, revealed that he had been admitted into a hospital in Germany for eye surgery.

SKYTREND NEWS gathered that the governor was in Dubai en route to Germany for the operation, which is expected to correct an eye ailment that had been troubling him for sometime.
