Computer administrator handles all IT stuff if its a one man IT departmentThats the guy that handles account creation for users to resolving technical issues for users. Depending on the role, the computer administrator might not be in charge of monitoring and taking care of servers and networks if there are infrastructure analyst and network team within the company.

I don't believe there is any risk in using windows 7. the End of life extended support end January 14, 2020. Lots of multinationals are still using Windows 7.Security patches are currently still being deployed to Windows 7. Microsoft have stopped adding new features to it.

A distributor from China has just been referred to me with some african products . due to branding, i don't want an African product that will be sold and say its made in china. It defeats the purpose of the product as people do take notice of it. If i can't find any in Naija, i will have to deal with the china product but i feel i can get one which is why i brought it up here on this forum. Someone has to know someone especially in the arts and craft business. its a shame that olumo rock does not have a website as i know some of the things i am sourcing for are there.

Thank Shupy.I should have added that food stuff was not part of it unless it can be processed and preserved before its being shipped to UK. Also most African foods are already in the UK. This products will be distributed to top stores in the UK,France and Germany. It will also be sold online. With food comes expiry date which will not be ideal.

I don't understand.what do u guys use bitcoins for and all this currencies? If it to buy stuffs or transfer money,there are recognised companies that does this legitimately. Not 100% sure if it works in Naija

Do you have this problem when you are offline? if yes, then its not a DDOS attack. Could be your laptop misbehaving. If it happens when you are connected to the internet, then try blocking the IP address on your firewall

You are really enjoying this SCCM i can see , are you a contractor or perm? Contracting with SCCM is big money in UK. I remember when Windows 7 deployment was the talk of the day ha! almost about 250 Pounds - 400 Pounds / Day for an SCCM Specialist. Dont know of the rate now. I presume you know MDT 2013 or i think its MDT2015 now. Do you know your scripting?

Technet helped me alot while i was learning SCCM back then. Also, have a look at "spiceworks community", there are some great guys there - and they reply questions within mins.

For me i think no one can chase VMware out, they keep bringing out new stuffs and nice stuffs.

I had a look at microsoft Azure - boy!!! they are expensive if you ask me lol. Are you using this at work?

I'm currently preparing for the VCP foundations exam before I then go ahead with the actual VCP6-DCV certification exam. Technology moves so fast, now vSphere 6.5 is out. Whew!

In the area of private cloud, Openstack is my platform of choice and I hope to still do a PoC on it before the year runs out.

In the public cloud space, IMO, Nigeria is still a bit backwards in the pay as you use model of the public cloud. Asides SaaS, they still prefer an on premise solution because they want to avoid the recurring payment model.

The benefits of shifting from capital to operating expenditure model is yet to be understood fully. As soon as this is realised, I foresee more companies jumping to the cloud.

AWS is my platform of choice for the public cloud. I read that some organisations now run their entire IT department from the cloud though I might not agree to doing that for now.

Cool. I did the VCP foundation when it was free then but had my VCP 5 before then.i believe Organizations in Nigeria should adopt a cloud only infrastructure due to Nepa and security issues there. At least you are sure the data and services will always be available and its down to end users or individual to access data.I know its expensive but availability is assured.

I've never used AWS. I am a Microsoft junkie and pro-Microsoft which is why. I heard its stable and more robust than Azure but feature in Azure and really overtaking AWS.

i have been working with SCCM, SCOM and AZURE AD and thats is really the future. Not sure if Naija companies can afford to go cloud or even Hybrid at the moment.
