Diplomatic means has been tried but it appeared UN, EU and NATO was out to bully Russia so they didn't give a Bleep and they continued lobbying zelenski to join NATO

If he stops the war and NATO has their ways they will use Ukraine to develop Bio weapons which they will use to hold Russia hostage

And Putin is trying to avoid that
