There's this friend of mine who sought my advice. The guy wants to travel out of Nigeria in a year's time on study sponsorship. According to him, he also desires a car. Said he needs a car for mobility as currently he goes around in public transport.

He's torn between getting a car now or persevering till next year September since he'll be travelling without the car.

On one hand I think considering comfort, he should just get a small car and probably sell it off when he is ready to take off.

On the other hand, I'm tempted to advice him to suspend car purchase for now since September is not very far. In a year's time he could travel, come back and then get the car.

What's your sincere advice?
