Codes151:How please? I'm curious to know. |
MrGerald:We're saying same thing, propaganda merchants, several nay sayers and regional destabilising agents have been released in full force. But to what motive? That's what is unclear right now. Let's see how the entire movie script plays. |
I smell a script being played out. A very wonderfully laid out script. Election period bekons upon us 1. Peter Obi Joins ADC, aligns Nigeria's SE, SS, Middlebelt, NC and other sections of the country towards a presidential ambition. 2. US AFRICOM starts the bombing campaign against ISWAP in partnership with FG 3. This ignites an internal public uproar especially among the northern part of Nigeria. 4. Lobbying fund is paid for propaganda to 'change the narrative' 5. The Onitsha main market 'screw driver seller' narrative is born 6. Shehu Sani fans the flames of the 'Onitsha screwdriver seller' narrative. 7. Narrative about a 'less known' Igbo Actor being the 'propaganda merchant' of the northern coup gains main stream. 8. Soludo re-opens narrative about Biafra agitation and sit at home by shutting down Onitsha Main market 9. IPOB reacts to the market shut down, strongly defies soludo and sets the stage for a regional sit at home. 10. Sponsors of 'Gentle de Yahoo' let him back into the limelight. He resurfaces again out of nowhere. Still watching to know how this movie plays out. Key to note that all around the world, nothing ever happens by chance, events are mostly well planned sometimes by state and non-state actors. |
helinues:In this case i think Umahi should have just given him a smart reply, it would have easily solved the brewing wahala. Everyone knows that projects don't always go as planned. Unforseen circumstances, scope and cost variations and force majeures can disrupt planned budgets and timelines. It's just a case of outlining the planned vs the actual budget, timelines, scopes etc. Las las, everybody go dey alright. |

CorperKola:Hello Sir, judging from the write-up, this is not an accusation, he was Caught red handed alongside others. The dealers were handed over to NDLEA, the myopic consumers were flogged to serve as a deterrent. You ask? What laws enable them to flog erring drug addicts? I'll say Moral customary laws which is tenable in any community in Nigeria and recognized by the Nigerian Law, that's why you have customary courts in communities. Same laws that permit parents to discipline erring children by flogging and punishments. Let me remind you that he was profiled like any other member of the community. He didn't have an identification neither was he dressed in his official uniform. The community disciplined him same way other drug addicts have been disciplined within their community according to their customary laws. |
CorperKola:What is the Jungle justice here sir? This operation was carried out in partnership with NDLEA, of which the drug dealers were always handed over to the appropriate authority with full jurisdiction on the matter. NDLEA had given a go ahead on this. But some officers of the police force came to scuttle an active operation being spearheaded by the NDLEA just because a rouge officer was found complicit. This is a punishable offence anywhere in the world. Little wonder why our security institutions find it hard to partner and achieve tangible results. You'd always hear cases like NSCDC vs Police, Police vs Army (Very common) Road Safety vs Lastma etc |
I see a clear case of conflict of interest. The police should be applauding the bold actions of the community president and youths, just as NDLEA had done. From all what i read up there, the youths are making the work of policing the community even easier. A sizable number of criminals and miscreants take illicit drugs. This is what fuels their deviant activities of mischief. Now the youths have cut off the supply thereby reducing crime in the community but guess what? The organization that should even be the best beneficiary of this operation by the youths are now the primary saboteurs Why?? Because "one of their own" is a culprit. Not only is he engaging in hard drugs trade, he is also an end user and encourages others to follow suit as well . To cap it all, he is a paedophile who had sexual intercourse with a minor he was supposed to protect and impregnated her in the process , to show the lack of shame, he is proudly calling her his "Girlfriend". This is a 5 count charge and should be the height of disgust and embarrassment an Officer of the law could bring to the noble police force. To show that he knew what he was doing, from the write-up, he chose to carry out his illicit activities while on mufti. With all these huge allegations in place, the force did not deem it fit to investigate, their primary instinct was to cover-up and unleash mayhem on the youths and community that dared to expose the nefarious activities of this randy officer. So.....the same ol mantra came up "We must defend one of our own, even though he has committed a heinous crime" This mantra has done more harm than good. We see this in politics, at the workplace, in our religious institutes and even in our homes and villages. This mantra is the reason why Nigeria has failed in all strata of morality and nation building. I must say, i am very much ashamed of the actions taken by the law enforcement officers here. |
Lukuluku69:Oh, my bad. I initially thought otherwise, sorry for the misunderstanding. Honestly, considering the fact that he had to shell out over $12Bn in the process of writing off the debts, i wouldn't blame him so much for selling some of those assets. The money just had to come from somewhere. Nevertheless, i would have thought that future governments would leverage on the debt relief from Obj to build a solid and robust economy for Nigeria but no! They rather acquired even more debts than ever before, and made the situation worse than it was at the onset. |
Lukuluku69:While i don't support his selling of Govt. Assets (Example 1004 Towers in VI etc), from your submission you further help me in butressing my point on OBJ's good economic acumen. MTN is currently the biggest tax paying entity in Nigeria (i stand to be corrected), they alongside other telecos remit billions of Naira to the Nigerian govt. Year on year till date, they are still licensed by the Govt (NCC). Obj was the one who set the foundation for all these. So saying that he got loads of cash from them is a one sided statement. At inception, we had only MTN on mobile telephony (introduced by Obj) Currently, we have multiple mobile network operators in Nigeria. The current govt. is getting even more cash from them than Obj ever did. |
Kokodeni:You don't need to be aggressive to prove a point sir. To be fair, you're actually proving his point more and more. With the help of a strategic economic team and an impeccable relationship with the international community, OBJ lobbied and worked tirelessly with foreign leaders for the debt to be written off. I don't think of any other Nigerian leader that has been able to achieve such feat. Please correct me if I'm wrong. |
Lukuluku69:I don't agree with no 3. Compared to Yar'Adua, Jonathan, Buhari, and Tinubu till date, OBJ had the lowest oil prices on average. This claim is backed by data. |
chopnaira:This is incorrect. The spike didn't last for more than 3-4 months (towards the end of his tenure) as against over 8 years of low prices. Again, the peak of this "oil spike" was capped at about $64/bbl. So again, you maybe grossly mistaken about the "High oil price" comment. As of today, we have higher oil prices than all of Obj's tenure combined.

We all own the sole responsibility of managing our life, time, resources and welfare. If this is what he deems as important, well, let him do whatever pleases himself, as long as he is causing no harm to others or the environment. |
I think this is misleading. Is Bayo Ojulari not a yoruba man? Why put him under North Central, making it seem like it's the Northerners that have occupied the slot. |
TallNigerian:I don't think we should bring in tribe. VON reporters generally have not been professional lately. |
zero8zero:Goes to show how shambolic our media institutions have become. VON which used to be a highly revered media outlet, is now dishing out amateur concorted news |
And one Nigerian news outlet had posted this earlier https://von.gov.ng/morocco-defeats-nigeria-to-win-first-ever-wafcon-title/

lionshare:From my shallow understanding then, it means the Brewery Obi brought to Anambra is earning dividends to the state in three folds (or even more); 1. Tax income 2. Income from Shares 3. Indirect taxation from employee tax and impact of operations (logistics, supply chain etc) Your statement further validates Obi's investment choice more and more. Looking at the bigger picture, the said ₦300M may just be a percentage of the total financial dividends the Brewery attracts monthly to Anambra. If that's the case, Obi is a genius! He used one stone to kill multiple birds. Maybe I'm just naive, what do i know?.... |

It'll be very rare to see this happen. If it does, it'll take a lot of mental discipline for that to happen. In an ideal world, every parent would say "I love my kids equally". However, we don't live in an ideal world. There are lots of factors that unconsciously creates biases in our head. The different characters our children exhibit, seldomly trigger these biases. Our unique reaction patterns overtime lays the building blocks towards an unconscious character build-up and labels towards these kids (this is stored in our heads). While some of these characters maybe pleasing to us, others may appear deviant and honestly as humans, we are wired to favour or move towards things that appeal to our nature. For instance, a quarrelsome mother would most likely see a calm and peaceful child as "a deviant", while a hyperactive dad will see a laid-back child as "lazy" and vice versa. Little wonder why some parents would give some labels to their children however, outsiders would think differently of these labels (in both positive and negative scenarios) While the mind may say "i love my kids equally" the body naturally and unconsciously gyrates towards that which pleases it. |
Damn Nigaaar!!! |

Whenever a blood moon comes out, a solar eclipse or strange sights on the heavenly bodies, its a sign that a great occurrence is about to come. Shortly before the corona Virus came there was a super wolf blood moon, before the Ascension of trump as the US president, Before the Locust Invasion of central africa e.t.c Check and do your own research, before any great event happens on earth, there would be signs on the heavenly bodies. |
Corporate2020:Many are blind but they claim to see. Just as it was in the bible, so it is now and so it will be in the future. Pray that God opens your darkened eyes to see the truth and also have the courage to speak the truth as well.
